I hope the fires clear up in Colorado asap! I saw it on the news today. We had some this past weekend in Utah. It was so smokey and my eyes were burning. I hope rogue will help me get back to my LDW of 142 and then finish the round towards the end of july at 135. Will be tough but I need to get where I left off and then some. Tired of this yo-yo business. I did a high protein day with tilapia. At 500 calories of grilled fish I am stuffed!!! Hopefully, will this will knock out my 1.2 gain and then some. Preparing for TOM and I found a teaspoon of cocoa powder in my protein shake helps with the cravings as well as a sprinkle of my jay robb chocolate protein powder over my strawberries with some vanilla stevia. I hate that I'm this far over my LDW. |

Cathy -- sorry, I missed your question -- I am doing both types of workouts -- alternating heavy, slow lifting days with barre days -- lots of intense muscle work! I am aiming to add some cardio at some point too, but right now I am not doing any cardio to speak of (but the weights get my heart rate up much better than cardio does, anyhow -- always has!)

Leelee, go under "control panel." Select Avitar. Click "browse" and choose a picture from your computer pics. Double click it and it should go into the box, then click "upload." It may tell you the file is too large but it usually always goes through. Check one of your posts to see if it "took."

Cathy, the reason I asked about natural or arson is that it seems that the fires that plague the desert south west often start by some moron setting the fire, just when the Santa Anna winds are whipping up. Just for kicks, I think.

Cheryl -- good luck with your preparations for the wedding -- the dress sounds lovely! I wish I had advice about your hair -- but most of what I do involves chemicals, or lots of knots, or extensions, lol! I do find hairspray to be a pretty invaluable thing when i do hairstyles on people with normal hair, though.
I'm curious about the BFFM plan -- I am tempted to buy the ebook, but just don't have the extra funds right now. I am on an all out quest to build muscle at present, and while I would love to lose some fat, too, I am not sure how amenable my body will be to doing both at once ... we'll see. I do think my body was kicking up a big fuss about the workouts and the low calorie days, and I am glad I decided to listen to that. Cathy -- sounds like the Dukan thing might be working for you, which is fantastic! Low fat anything is out of the question for me -- it makes me miserable, and I don't lose well doing it either. I did better losing on hcg once I added fat to the plan. I'm sticking with the basics -- p3/Atkins for now -- and may try something very targeted for fat loss a bit later on.

Mini, a friend of mine sent me an article and link to a supplement called Real Dose. I'm interested and you might find the description interesting as well. I know we can't link, but you'll probably find it via google.

Lynne --Looks like fairly standard ingredients in fat burners, and rather pricey if you ask me. The accompanying article is fairly interesting and accurate, though, according to all the new buzz about hormones and weight.
As for the products you recommend...lol --- OMG, my skin is doing the weirdest stuff right now! As you know. I had the mother of all cystic acne outbreaks -- it is still going on a bit, though the worst of it has healed.... BUT.... where it is healing, I have plumpy, nice skin, and my forehead/glabella wrinkle is nearly gone! (it was a deep wrinkle!) I wonder if that is just residual inflammation from the breakout, or if the wrinkle is going to stay gone... because if it is, I will consider it a worthwhile trade off even with the horrid break out. If no more cysts appear, I can probably go back to doing the Nerium in a few more days -- and I think I probably will. I still don't know if the break out had a thing to do with the Nerium or if that was just bad timing -- another run with it will be a better test of that, I think. I only used it for about ten days, if that, before all h$ll broke loose with the acne -- but I am really curious if it is all part of the renewal process....? I generally don't have greatly improved skin firmness after a breakout, so this is most intriguing. |

I look forward to the Real Dose review, Cathy! Thanks for the BFFM offer -- PM sent. I think Shelby tried to hook me up with it at one point, and I don't remember what went awry but I don't seem to have it.

After doing a bunch of reading, I am pretty convinced that the "skin purge" with a new product (or systemic cleanse) is a real thing. I do know that my pores were pretty congested before I started the Nerium, and before the cleanse. The peel may have brought on some of the skin purging, too.
I think I will start using the Nerium again tomorrow or the next day -- I'll see where that gets me. I'll go light with it -- Lynne, you mentioned that you had a greasy face after a few days of use ... did that go away? Seeing as how I know I had clogged pores, and I am mostly breaking out in areas that I know to be acne prone, I am going to assume this is a skin purging/detox reaction. |

Checking in to be accountable. Down 2 pounds today. 2 more loading pounds yet to go. Then the real losses. I can't wait! Continuing with only eating when hungry. Very different for me as I used to plan my day around my lunch plans. I have a presentation today at a candy manufacturing company. I always leave with lots of goodies.. I will be strong and NOT sample anything today. The goodies will be given away as soon as I get back to my office. So here's to a great vlcd 3 and saying NO Thank you to all the candy today..
Have a great day everyone. Bee |

Great start, Bee!
I'm having another insomniac night, hence the 4 am post The good news is that I am getting a lot of interesting reading done Here is an article (it's a journal article, I think it is ok to link to it) that some of you might find of interest, on inflammation, hunger, and food addiction -- the science is a little shaky in parts (they use Survey Monkey as a tool for data collection), but the authors acknowledge the flaws in the study, and it is good food for thought... I am going to try shaking things up on my end a little bit -- and actually do something that follows the standard bodybuilding guidelines, for once
I am going to try eating a number of small meals throughout the day, and see how that treats me for a bit -- low-carb, and frequent. I tend towards being an intermittent faster -- but with this recent onset of crazy hunger and wild weight swings, I am realizing that the game has changed ... so I think I will try that for a while -- attempt to eat only when hungry (which is nearly always at the moment) -- but eat only to the point of not being hungry, and repeat. I hate to say this -- and I really have only myself to blame for being too rogue with the whole business -- but I think my adventures in hcg did some real damage to my hunger regulation and metabolic systems. I got so good at over-riding my hunger levels that it threw everything way out of whack -- and now I need to do some healing. I rather suspect that if I eat more for a while, and really listen to my body, it'll even things out. I dearly hope so! |

Marking this for next week.
Hi everyone! I've been off hhcg for a couple of months now and maintaining well, thank goodness! (In spite of having a few stuffing weekends.) I plan to start R2 Tuesday of next week - heading downstate for the weekend to help my daughter move and I know better than to start before that! Everyone looks like they're doing pretty well! Have a lovely time at the wedding Cheryl, your dress sounds great. Prayer for the fire situations and all the family things. Have a great weekend everyone! Good losses!

Since I have a few minutes I thought I'd stop in and thank you for your prayers. I'm with a family member having surgery today. She is my sis and I love her dearly. If it was my story to tell, I'd tell it, because as you all know here we pretty much TMI all the time about everything. But this isn't mine to tell. Praying for healing, wholeness and speedy recovery. Love you all and Thanks again.

Hmmm, I use rhodiola all the time for a mild mood improvement...works on dopamine is what I understand. I just take the tea...tastes like roses.
Back up 131.6 again, my own fault yesterday. Back to 1100 and under today, and goodies OUT of the house (OK, in kids room I don't like to enter). |

I will indeed have a great time! It's so weird cause it's the first time I've been to any of my nephew's weddings and none of my nieces have married yet. I can't believe they are so grown and accomplished and sometimes it's hard for me to take. I don't know how to handle them not being kids anymore! ![]() Quote:
It all feels like WORK to me. And if it doesn't last, why put all that effort into something? I'm into things that last. All this talk about skin care has made me decide to apply heat to my face and other problem areas and then apply the only mask I have to my name. It will hopefully rejuvenate my skin and clean out my pores somewhat. I hope it doesn't cause a break-out. I hate when things backfire on me! Quote:

I'll take pics at the wedding and reception and ask my sisters to take pics of me with my own camera. If any of them are flattering, I'll post a couple here. Quote:

Sounds serious, C'Marie. So glad you are there beside her. I hope all goes well.I get to rest and relax today and plan to practice doing my hair with the round brush. If I don't like it, I'll practice with the curling iron tomorrow. Plan to also do some serious nail care to hands and toes. Want my toenails to be pretty and smooth so I have no runners in my pantie hose. The shoes I bought have an open toe. Not sure if that is a wise choice but I thought they were really pretty. Maybe I can post a pic of the dress and shoes. I'll try. Have a splendid day, ladies!!! |

Prayers for C"marie and Colorado folks (Cathy and whoever else!
Cheryl have a wonderful time at the wedding! Sounds like you're already having fun shopping! Just my two cents about curlers vs. iron - I prefer irons because I have more control over the curl, curlers just give me OOOMPH, you know what I mean? I have hair down to mid-bicep so it's pretty long. Don't forget hairspray and a teasing comb, they are two best tools I have! Mini can't say I blame you for giving up JUDDD! With your dedication to weights I can't imagine the Down Days...I also am adapting 'bodybuilder' mode and eating every 3 hours or so. My cousin has lost 135 pounds thru Weight Watchers and exercise, and is now training for bodybuildling competitions (She looks freaking amazing, she filmed a commercial for a gym) so I'm learning a bit from her - she eats every 2-3 hours, 120 g. of protein a day! I STS at 139 - 4 pounds higher than I want to be but I'm okay with it. I have been eating super clean and working out like mad so that number isn't bothering me for now. Happy HCG-ing to those still rogue-ing it!

Prayers for your sister C'Marie! I agree that she is blessed to have you by her side!
Cheryl -- good luck with the hair and I know you will look gorgeous at the wedding! And, maybe we aren't on such far ends of the spectrum with hair -- I like things that last too -- that is why I love my dreads -- they are a lot of work upfront, but then they last as long as I want them to last, with minimal maintenance -- and I really never have to fuss with daily hairstyling again Last edited by minimonkey; 06-28-2012 at 01:42 PM.. |

Also if anyone is still interested in the It Works wraps - I had a party for friends on Tuesday night and everyone lost about 2" or so. I have not ordered my package yet (I have tons of car repair bills right now) but am ordering in the next week or two - so when I start those up I will be sure to keep you posted. My mom and two aunts did the face wraps and the difference was really noticeable! Their skin was super smooth looking - I can imagine results after 4 of them...
