Yep -- I am done with JUDDD for now. I am going low carb, baby. I may not lose doing this, but I maintain well with it, feel good, gain muscle well on it, and I am not hungry, obsessive, or miserable. I love low carb eating, and I am going back to what makes me feel best!

I may do another round of hcg later on to lean out more, but for now, I think this is the best plan.

I got in a killer legs and shoulders weights workout today

Will do, C'Marie. Stay strong for yourself as well as those around you. Please tell us more when you can.

Go, Carrie! Happy launching!

Mini, happy LC'ing. WTG on that work out!

Paula, two days is almost "a roll." KUTGW. Sorry about having to change your stats to a higher number. I know all about that.

I updated my ticker to reflect my new weight today. Taking a while to shed this water weight. I'm sure I have about 10 lbs of that on me. My calories for yesterday ended up being about twice what I wanted them to be. I hate when I can't get to sleep at a normal hour. The longer I'm up, the more often I experience hunger pangs or just the desire to fill the empty hours with something to eat. I still lost some more, though.

Need to force myself out the door to go shopping for wedding clothes. The day is half over now and I'm thinking of going tomorrow instead. I'm terrible!!

Anyone care to weigh-in on whether they think hot rollers are better than a curling iron? My hair has already grown out enough to make it not "scrunchable." It lays too flat on the top and I can't go to the wedding looking like that. I have to wash it the morning of the wedding because I can never get more than a day out of my hair before it gets all greasy (family genes.) What do you think works best? I have very short hair now.

does anyone remember exactly where our Cristin lives (beachagain)? I know she's in Colorado. It's terrible there in many places, even places that aren't burning. The air quality is very unhealthy. I'm concerned.

Its not very nice here in Colorado. The fires are horrendous and some days its very hard to breathe (I am in Fort Collins, 10 miles from the High Park Fire thats been going since June 9th and burned over 90,000 acres now)...

Hello, friends! I'm back in the hcg saddle again, too. I've always done it pretty protocol before, but I've learned that I can add in things like tuna, fat free franks, turkey, etc., and still do fine. I eat more protein, too--usually 4 or 5 oz twice a day.

Good to see everyone!

Hi Friends!

Lurked here and there. Mainly when I googled for info found many references to this board. I'm hcg'er since jan 2011 and been on other boards.
179/154/LDW142 (not sure if I did that right??)

I've experimented a bit rogue and had some success especially with the fat fast days.

I travel quite a bit so its been tricky trying to do full successful rounds.

I'm heading to daytona next week for work and plan on eating my jayy robb powder, fage yogurt, cucumbers, tuna in water pouches, apples, oranges, grilled chicken I"ll prep and carry on. I've been trying to test out the 800 calories since restating VLCD last monday. Been at 600-800.

Open to any ideas!

Any other ideas?

Thanks ladies. I dont live up there in the mountains/foothills, but its only about 10 miles uphill from us. Its just horrible the whole state.... not just us.. although ours is still the biggest, the one in Colorado Springs is just terrifying right now and no rain, just high winds and super high temps!

Welcome, leelee! Also welcome back, Verbqueen

Paula -- good luck getting back on plan -- sounds like a sane one to me. I do know how frustrating those regains are -- in fact, most of us here know all about that at this point!

I'm sore as heck today from yesterday's workout, and very glad I won't be eating 500 calories of nothing -- I'm retaining a lot of water today from the workout, hormones, and warmer weather -- but I am not going to stress that overmuch -- I am going to go have a nice, l/c meal, and let my body heal its muscles.

My skin is still in a bad state -- the worst of the initial break out is healed, but I keep getting new sores -- fewer and smaller for the most part, but still a drag I wish I knew how to get that under control!

Zoe, have you read up on the Dukan diet? Its low carb, but low fat too...you dont count calories either...

Are you doing barre workouts now or lifting heavy weights?

Sores? Do you mean break out as in acne? I'm a bit of an expert in that field.

Manders -- yes, cystic acne -- and any advice would be most welcome! It's adult onset, and I suspect mostly hormonal in nature...

I've been watching the live feed from kktv off and on for a couple of days. It's incredible. Evacuations at the USAFA and closings at Garden of the Gods. Pikes Peak highway and railroad closed and just horrifying pictures from the Waldo Canyon areas. I'm here 55 percent containment on the Ft Collins fire...is that right, Cathy? That's a heck of a lot more encouraging than the 5 percent containment in the Colorado Springs area. And there is another one near Boulder?

Actually we were 60% contained (ft collins fire) now 45% as of last night... lost some in the wind...

Yes, there was a new fire that started in Boulder yesterday afternoon at 2 p.m. mst, by lightning again, and it had burned 300 acres by 5 p.m. last night. Its called the Flagstaff fire... not sure of its current status, have not had time to watch the news today for further updates, but the Waldo one is going horribly right now...

Cheryl, with very short hair you might have better luck with a curling iron, just be sure to use some thermal protection serum before!

I would use a smaller barrel curling iron as it will give your hair some lift... I hope you find something to wear.

I gained on my first vlcd....what is this all about. Maybe tomorrow will show a loss. I am continuing to walk 10 miles a day 3x a week. So I expect my losses to be slower and to hold some water weight this round. My goal is 165. I will do a 40 day round if need be and add a refeed if I stall. Every round has been so different for me..so this is my accountability for the day... P2 chilli made into a salad. Sliced tomato with grated cheese broiled. 2 hard boiled eggs. . I'm trying to eat only when I feel hunger. I have to say I didn't feel great hunger most of the day.. Off to drink some iced tea to get more fluids in...
Wishing everybody a visit from the whoosh fairy tonight....
Prayers being sent for all of those in need..

Bee

I'm with Bee, Cheryl--I use hot curlers often, but they don't really curl or give lift to my straight hair, more just smooth out the lumps and ripples and give it an even texture. I think an iron will be more likely to give you a good, lasting lift and curl. You'll probably need to use some product on it, too.

Are these fires presumed to be natural occurrences or arson? Unfortunately, all those pine needles + fallen trees are stored fuel. And if they don't allow controlled burns, run-away fires are inevitable. It's so devastating to see + experience and we are all praying for the fires to be contained. Stay safe, Cathy!

Welcome, Leelee! Usually the middle number is where you are now and the last number is your goal weight. It's certainly challenging to do this plan on the fly. Kudos to you for making it work!

I guess your body is expressing its unhappiness with those DD's! I hope things rapidly resolve on LC.

Thanks, Lynne. I'm not the type to fuss with my hair, but this is a very special day. More effort is required. Will be a good aunt + rise to the occasion. I'll shirk my slovenly ways for one whole day.

I spent HOURS shopping today. It was major sticker shock because (Like Mini), I'm a thrift store person. Well, I went to Macy's at my sisters' suggestion. OMG! $130 for a dress and it isn't even silky to the touch. Shoes that were $70. Purses that were $150!!! I left the purse right where it was hanging and I paid for the dress and shoes. Through some fancy footwork, I got the dress for $116 and the shoes for $55 or something like that.

I bought some cheap jewelry and a purse at another store but I had to go through three stores to find those. I'm tired! And broke! Weird thing is is that I ran into my nephew at Macy's (the one who's getting married.) He spotted me and said my name, otherwise I wouldn't have seen him walk by. He and a friend were there to pick up his tux. Just as I was talking to him, I looked to the rack right beside us and pulled out a dress. "I like this." He liked it too. Turned out to be the right dress for me and I knew as soon as I put it on and looked in the mirror.

So the dress I bought is solid purple. It's very pretty! Stretchy and gathered in places and has a mock wrap-around skirt look to the front of it. It has 3/4 length sleeves which was very important to me, and the length goes just past my knees (another big plus.) It's a done deal and I hope I can wear it to some other occasion before it is way too big for me.

The shoes are very spiky and a light colored leather. I'm wearing pearls around my neck, wrist and on each ear. And I have a bag that won't clash with the shoes. DONE! In the bag, so to speak.

Now I'm chilling out and relaxing for the rest of the night. Will try and get to sleep early. (I say that every night, lately.) It's good to have goals.

Have a safe and relaxing evening, ladies!
