I'm getting no scale love at all from the very high fat plan .. still stuck at the same number. My GI tract is definitely not loving this, either.
Embee -- Dana Carpender is a writer (cookbooks) and blogger -- I don't believe she posts here at all -- at least not to my knowledge. You can find her with a google search though. I read that about the doctor who was doing hcg and lc -- he was having good results, but men tend to lose pretty easily compared to women. I'm really considering doing another p2 round (rogue enough to allow for workouts, as tough as that might be) and getting this job done -- I value my gut health too much to continue with something that is upsetting my GI tract. I'm hating all the water weight, and I know it can't be good for me to be carrying all that around. If I "reverse diet" my way out of it, by adding calories very, very slowly, I might be able to manage to maintain the losses this time -- but that is easier said than done, as I know all too well.

Plarsen -- thanks for the compliment -- unfortunately, I am not as lean now as I was when that pic was taken (though I do have quite a bit more muscle mass -- yes!) I have had two disastrous p3s after a long period of horrid stress and depletion that was beyond my control --- both of them resulted in bad, bad rebound gains coming out of p2.
I'm sitting at about 18 lbs above my high goal (which is a lot on my tiny frame!)-- I'd be satisfied losing that, and maintaining there. I should be able to lose that with one long-ish round. In rounds past, I tried to drop too low, and I think it was a mistake. I'm fairly muscular, and getting more so, and I need to allow a bit of leeway on the scale for the muscles. |

I am going to go ahead and do the round ... it may or may not be a good idea, but I am going to do it (I wrote a long post on the other thread about this.)
I'm going to do it rogue -- and moderate everything -- good fat, protein, good carbs... and shoot for 1000 calories a day. If I am genuinely hungry, I may even eat a bit more on workout days. If I am not hungry, I'll eat less. This is pretty in keeping with the Weight Loss Apocalypse theory, at least as far as caloric intake/hunger is concerned. I go insane without some fat, so I won't be cutting that out completely. I'm also not cutting out my workouts. I am only working out three to four times a week -- and not insanely at that. I will adjust my food intake to allow me to sustain the working out without tanking, which may involve some trial and error. I know this approach (or some variant thereof) works for me to get the losses-- but what hasn't worked for me, at all, is maintenance. So, this time, I'll be approaching maintenance very differently than I have previously. I'll take slower losses this time, and a longer round, as long as I am not miserable! I won't be miserable as long as I am eating enough to avoid hunger and weakness -- and I think I can find a balance where losses are still happening, without my body tanking out on me. I'll keep you all apprised of my progress, of course And yes, I do realize this may be a stupid idea to even consider doing another round ... but it is what I am doing nonetheless. I'm going to start dosing tonight, and I am not going to load -- I'll just start in on the moderate-everything plan tomorrow. I have enough hhcg to last me many weeks, so I do plan to ride this to goal, even if the losses are slow. |

I think your plan sounds good!
Now If I could do it, for my last 7! I just seem pretty good at maintaining, but it is summertime and its pretty darned easy
But I do think we will have to be healthy maintenance eaters ALWAYS with very few slips. I have two fit, lean girlfriends, that are pretty strict about good eating and get loads of exercise. One is oatmeal, fruit for brfst/ yogurt, apple, pretzels (20 she counts our hers in a baggie-lunch-- dinner--salad chicken or fish, vegs. On thurs she has popcorn as a treat and on sat or sunday has some ice cream. Very dedicated, always looks great and feels terrific. She is my role model But I am a protein shake gal, salad with meat lunch, and vegs and fish dinner type--those are my main foods. I love a kiddie cone from dairy queen, may make it a cup though to get rid of the cone calories, its just not that good:0 No bread, taters, processed foods, candy, cookies, canned soups, etc. I just don't go there but for an occasional sweet potato or stolen fry. It is a one holiday event of some kind for fattening deserts, but I have made some great fruit/stevia based concoctions and of course, the coco crack |

Hi gals! Well, I broke the 170 barrier today...169.6. I should probably be happier than I am but it's hard because on my last two rounds I got to 163 and 165 so this round feels kinda like a letdown. I actually don't mind being right around 170 since that's where I always stabilized--even with my other two rounds--I just don't want to gain another 5 in maintenance like I normally do
![]() Only 4 more days of this stinkin P2!!! I am so beyond done with the food at this point. I find myself just grabbing a cold chicken breast out of the fridge and eating it just to put something in my body. Sometimes I don't even do veggies because I'm so sick of them!

Congratulations - EmBee and Paula! It's so much fun to see that darned scale go DOWN!
My weight is up a bit - but this past week we went to Orlando (Universal Studios) for an unexpected visit with my step-son and his family - very, very hard to stay even close to protocol eating when you haven't planned ahead ... However, I'm back on fairly clean eating today (though I will eat the avocados that I have - will NOT throw them away!) - but I figure that if I'm pretty much 0 fat then a few grams of a "healthy" fat won't upset my weight loss - will see how it goes. And once they are finished, then I'll be strict again ... I typically lose my extra weight pretty quickly, as long as I tackle it immediately - but I haven't broken the hcg protocol in the middle of a P2 round before - sure hope I can lose to 125# this time. In a few weeks my 8-year-old granddaughter is visiting for a week - but that'll be pretty easy - we'll take her to Disney World (and I'll carry canned fat-free chicken meat), buy her an ice cream cone when we're out, etc., etc. - planning makes a BIG difference!

Just stopping by quickly... Had a horrible emotional binge fest yesterday so I didn't even bother with the scale. I'm currently walking at the gym and getting back on track.
Have a great day |

The scale moved! seriously downward. for the first time in this round!
I have to confess this has been a *^%% of a round. Started out with a 10 pound load (and no I didn't eat all that!), coupled with major inflammation (from the load I'm sure), bad PMS, followed by *tada* TOM, and a really really bad summer cold (complete with fever, sore throat, etc) that sent me to bed for a few days (cold meds do not help this diet or my inflammation!) and then a new job, which has a flickery fluorescent light right there (over the wall behind my computer) that gives me a migraine! (talk about stress!) didn't want to report it and sound like a fusser the first week, but breaking down Mon am and rearranging my cubicle so I face the "other" way. (and I confess... but only here... that I DID slip up on a couple days. but, gang, I was HUNGRY!! (ate over 500 ca those days but less than 1000) Almost two weeks into it and I FINALLY broke below my last round LDW of 150. 149.4 this morning. Yesterday, I decided to switch bottle of hHcg and see what happened before throwing in the towel. Down 2.5 pounds this morning! (Not sure about the last bottle; I started it the last couple weeks of my 40 R1 and (thinking back) had NO success those two weeks moving the scale. Then the first two of this round. ugh! do you think it could have been a "bad" bottle? maybe? lol wish there was a test for hHcg). Hopefully more success tomorrow! Other than the migraine, the job is going well. so far so good..... (oh one of the "perks" is that we only work a half day on Friday! yeah me!)

YAY Suzi!! I have wondered the same thing about a bad bottle, but then I wondered if the bottle losing its effectiveness after a couple weeks?? I threw out the end of my last bottle and started a fresh one and immediately the ketosis strips started showing faint pink and the pounds started moving again...Maybe it was just a fluke. I am seriously considering the patch like DaZeygrl does. |

Thanks for the link Dazy! That bird is amazing -- I don't know a thing about birds of prey, so I am not sure what kind it is. I posted over on that thread about it -- gorgeous creature, even if it does eat pigeons for lunch....
