stalls
I stalled too for 7 days in p2 I just kept at it figured if the calories were low, then I was bound to break loose with a few pounds and did eventually.
Asparagus is expensive but really works for me if I am retaining water, and wild caught salmon form aldis. Every time I eat that combonation for dinner I lose weight! |

good morning.
weekly weigh in today. i was down a WHOPPING 0.4 but i feel like the mirror and the scale aren't lining up. so that's something i guess...i feel much better (read: slimmer, dare i say). since i am very satisfied with my menu, i will just keep at it. found out our cruise is not until aug 31 now. so i don't have the pressure of meeting an aug 3 deadline. gonna do some refining of my menu tho. i did eat out on wed night, just couldn't do a big salad so went with a chicken wrap. and we'll eat out tonight, are having company tomorrow night for supper and will eat out sunday night....soooo, i hope i don't get set back too far. |

Congratulations EVERYONE with the losses. As far as stalls, I was stall queen well over 2 weeks, but still losing inches. Now the pounds are moving but the inches are slower...hahahaha.
Thanks Everyone for the encouragement, sorry for the down moment yesterday :/ I get those once in a while. But I would rather be prepared for what people go through than be shocked when I get to goal. Todays Report!! Down to 230.8 that is another .6 pounds I haven't been there since 2003...Measurements are down 1.5 total and pounds are almost 2 for the week. That makes a grand total of 31.2 pounds since Mid may and 35.75 total inches !!! And I am totally rogue of course the plan I started with was rogue to begin with (it came with my drops). I was a bit nervous that I would have a gain this AM since I had a taco salad with cheese and greek yogurt yesterday, but what a nice surprise. OH and guess what ??? ITS FRIDAY! wooo hooooo |

EmBee - I think you said (somewhere in this thread) that you ate coconut oil while in P2.
What is your reasoning for that? How has it been working for you? Does it seem to make any difference with your weight loss? Etc.? I know that coconut oil contains a different type of fat (MCF) - but I haven't tried eating any while on P2 (but I do use it on my face, when out in the sun [great at stopping a burn here in Florida!], and wherever I have a dry spot) - before this round of P2 I was "pulling" with it and was noticing some great results, but I've been waiting to resume ... 'twould be nice if there's a way to continue with it! And of course, I love eating it!!! Thanks for any info!

to all the STS'ers today. Didn't quote everyone but did read all the posts and I'm behind each of you all the way! ![]() Quote:
![]() I know if I say this, others will chime in and say that it only gives a slight, temporary water loss and is for psychological pumping-up but I always had a good result from an Apple Day. I'd eat my favorite apples. You can have up to 6 but you don't have to eat that many. And Dr Simeon said to only drink enough water to satisfy but I was able to drink plenty of water and even up to a full pot of black coffee w/ Ez Sweetz and drop over one lb the next day. It stayed off and others went with it soon after. It's worth a shot. STS gets mighty old after a while. I never waited more than 3-4 days before I did an Apple Day. Quote:
That's the only problem with weekly weigh-ins. You might be up a bit on that one day of your choosing, and missed a low weight that happened the day or two before. Still, I like that you only weigh once a week. I realize more and more that the scale is only one indicator of our progress and not the most accurate one, at that. (That's thanks to the person who posted that youtube video showing the difference between 5 lbs of fat and 5 lbs of muscle.)I'm glad you have more time before your cruise! ![]() Quote:
Nice work, MB!! There's nothing like the determination of that first round! In fact, I told you that you should take a P3 break and then cycle back to P2, but now that I'm thinking of my own experiences with it, I'd stay on P2 and just do refeed days on special occasions. I never got my mojo back after I went into P3 after that first long round.Quote:
KUTGW, honey! Do you already have your new car? I forgot if you said you drove it home. What an ordeal though, huh? I remember buying my current car. It was 12 years ago this month! I had the deal all sewn up and then they realized I was leaving the state after buying the car. They got all panicky and reneged. I had to have my sister co-sign (I was in AZ and she was in CT so it had to be done via Fax.) Long story short, I ended up with a lower interest rate due to her great credit score so it saved me money. What a nightmare that all was. So the day I was able to finally take possession of the car was the day I left AZ and began my career as a Travel Nurse. Memories. Ancient History! It's Friday (thanks for reminding us that it's also Friday the 13th. ) I hope we all have a blessed day, and a wonderful weekend. May we all stay on our own specific plan and be rewarded for our faithfulness to it and to ourselves. AMEN!

I have not had any problem with the coconut oil at all...I even do full fat coconut milk in my protein shakes. Some people say they do, but I don't . There are sooo many benefits to the coconut oil I will try and post the info soon... Now I do oil pulling everyday...well at least 5 days a week! And I don't think it has stalled my losses. I was in a stalll, but as I think about it I am fairly sure it was because of the intense workouts I had added back in which is why I added the coconut oil, and it really helped!!! Now my losses have resumed. Coconut oil is digested differently than other saturated fats... I would give it a try anyway, but then again I try anything once ![]() |

Oh, yeah! I remember now that you said that. Very cool. And much safer than a Caribean cruise in the midst of hurricane season. I'm nervous for anyone who chooses to cruise during the "cheaper ticket season." You're all going to have an amazing time.

Cheryl hey back to you. I will try the apple day tomorrow. today i had 2 HB eggs , string cheese, apple slices and asparagaus. 80oz tea/water so far.
I kinda feel hormonal...but not time for TOM. I was surprise Fage day didn't work as I usually lose 2.5 to3.5 on these days. Maybe the stress of the week is causing it. ![]() Embee- I have lost 78pounds on hcg and have been able to keep it off. I did gain some back over the holiday but lost it once back on plan. My goal is 159 knowing that I want a 5 pound window. I have learned to not end a round with TOM as it was much harder to be stable. I also found the longer rounds didn't really add to my losses. My original goal was always 169. The closer I got I added 10 more pounds. Not sure why I did. Anyone have any great plans for the weekend? A walk with my breast cancer buddies tomorrow for me, not sure what else. Maybe a free concert at the local park. |

Well, only getting a hair cut tomorrow afternoon. Aside from that, I've got nothing on my agenda. I like it! I might try out some of the new bug repellant wipes I bought online (made of skin so soft) and sit around the fire pit tomorrow night. Would be sort of boring if I ended up all by myself. Maybe I'll see if the peeps upstairs will be around. If not, me and doggy will think about a fire. Already, now that I've said it outloud, it's not sounding too tempting.

yesterday, today, and tomorrow are UGGGGHHHHH days for me. otherwise known as Loading days. I almost forgot how much I hated this. (Remember, I had trouble eating enough for my P3; I really have gotten to be a rabbit. lol)
The things I craved going into R1 are NOT the things I crave now. Mostly I am eating stuff that I will MISS on this round (like my dear, sweet old friend CHEESE, which I just (to the amusement of my guys) addressed in a profound and moving "ode" to my cheese in the kitchen). About the only cravings I have that I thought I would satisfy, I either have already or I changed my mind before (like i walked into Wendy's yesterday at lunch thinking "I can eat French Fries!" and thought for a minute and walked out frie-less. lol) I had pizza last night and don't even care if I see another one (til after R2P3 lol). BUT I made a deal. with myself to Load. and with my friends to eat (and drink) what they put before me. Going out tonight (with friends) and tomorrow (having our annual "Rooney sisters" picnic (basically our female-family members only Steeler fan club. Have I mentioned that most of my family (including the womenfolk) are RABID Steeler fans?)/"sweet 16" b-day party for me (thanks to my wild and crazy cousin!) (as long as no male stripper pops out of the cake, I'm fine...) We planned this specifically to hit on THIS weekend, so that I can eat. lol. So I am gonna suck it up and eat tomorrow too. Started my hHcg yesterday and already my appetite (what it was) is suppressed. Like I said, UGGGGGHHHH days. looking forward to Monday and VLCDs!

BUT.... I think we all forget that our bodies are a symphony orchestra, not just the horn section (or whatever you fantasize playing lol) and we need to get the whole thing playing to optimum, not just one part of it. We need to LISTEN to our bodies, really listen and work to build up whatever is the "weakest", that has the greatest need, but with the idea of it all working together to produce one amazing life! I would suggest anyone wanting to lose (a lot) weight get an entire lab workup done BEFORE starting. Check all your blood and hormone levels, etc, and then monitor them as often as your doc recommends. (I also recommend finding a doc who BELIEVES in preventative care and doing things without PHARMA if possible. (for example, my doc uses BHRT and natural hormones, nothing artificial or engineered/altered majorly in a lab (drug companies do this sometimes just so they can get a patent and charge big bucks)) Find out what nutrition supplements your body needs and feed it those FIRST. Get your hormones stabilized. etc. Then start your diet plan. (course few of us do it this way.... this is wisdom in retrospect... lol) all parts of the whole symphony orchestra working well together towards the goal. I think Hcg is a great tool for weight-loss (one of the best). but it is only part of it. If I had found it when I weighed 265, I probably would have stuck with it for a lot of rounds... but just as I know I really burnt out my body doing multiple rounds of OTHER diets and ended up messing up my adrenals, etc., I think I would have ended up doing the same with Hcg. Why? not because Hcg can't or doesn't work, or anything negative, but because I hadn't learned to LISTEN to my body and give it what it needs. Right now, it needs to lose weight. That is the part of the orchestra I am "working" on most. I've got my hormones (well most of them) in the process of stabilizing. I've spent months building up my nutritional levels with the right supps. I've exercised and built up my cardio system. (mostly before Hcg... trying to obey protocol on that one. grrrrr.) Mentally, I've worked on the reasons WHY I eat the wrong foods and in the wrong amounts, etc. (My diet had changed before I started the Protocol to be not that different from the basics (high protein, good fats, "brown" carbs in moderation, no artificial "crap" or excitotoxins) even veggie style. I have drastically changed the how and why of what I eat so I was ready for the diet when I started. And I know that for me, one more round is all I want to do. (course I am close enough to my goal, that one more successful round should get me within kissing distance lol) and I can then go back to my pre-hcg style (diet and exercise) to refine and tone and maybe lose a few. Just fine-tuning the orchestra right before performance. That is my advice. LISTEN to your body. ALL of "you", not just the "weight-loss" part. and do what it tells you to do. I think a lot of the women on here are doing just that. I'm sure you are. The goal isn't just to be SKINNY. The goal should be to be HEALTHY... all over... body, mind, and soul. (and now... getting down off my soap-box and putting it away....) |

Good post, Suzi! Much wisdom in that!
I think there's a difference between being 'negative' and simply being cautious, or honest -- if we can't be honest with our own experiences, fears, and so forth, how can we hope to help ourselves and others? What works for one person my not necessarily work for another -- but we can learn from seeing the general trends and the problems that others have faced. |

I'm still hanging at the same weight, though it seems the swelling is going down some, at least in the abdominal area.
As of today, I am eliminating dairy to see if that helps. Sadly, I suspect it will -- if it is causing problems, it needs to go. I'll try that for a week or so and see if it makes a difference. |

I think I should add that I've been resistant to reaching my weight loss goals with everything. With Weight Watchers I went from 184 to 141....could never reach goal, retried 6 or 7 times. With Atkins I went from 232 to 182, restarted induction again and again (literally for 3 or 4 years), could not dip below 190 again.
So hcg was a God - send for me...took me from 191 to 123. Couldn't quite get to 110 despite 9 rounds (some really rogue JUDDish rounds and other modifications in there). I just thinks some of us are "resistant." When I needed anti-depressants it was the same way. Something would work for 3 months and then completely peter out. Would try a new drug...after six weeks start working, then work for 3 months and peter out. I guess the lesson from my own life...for me, is don't be afraid to try new things when the current ones aren't working. But I would never say I didn't appreciate how far hcg got me. From a size 22 to a size 8! Pretty incredible! And a size 8 would be a fine place to be if I didn't have such a tiny frame with so much belly fat still (28.6% body fat right now). Just wanted to share that...
