ok.... tomorrow is "the day". hHcg day that is. lol.
so far so good. I hit day 21 today of R1P3 at the same weight as my LOW weight of 150 from the VLCD P2 days. (I have a habit of hitting a low weight, like I did the 149.6 a couple days ago and then bouncing back for a while, then dropping again (usually passing my previous low) then repeat..), with only one cd needed, so I guess that's a successful P3?? I even ventured into Carb Land a couple days this past week (still low carb but not the "no-carb" called for by Dr S) to no detrimental effects. (whew! )so doing a three day load starting tomorrow, although I think it will be a mini-load (lol) mostly because I am just not CRAVING a lot of things right now. Sugars? def not. Potatoes. nah. Pasta. nah. (and I always classified myself as a Pasta/Potato Pudgie. know those were my downfall all those "fat" years) I do crave a REAL pizza (w a thin crust tho which I thought was abhorrent a few months ago) and a big fat veggie burger on flatbread with all the fixings (my go-to is Amy's California burger which is made with veggies and Bulgar wheat :yum: (no soy for this chick, sorry)) and oh yeah BEANS. come on, it is a major sacrifice for a vegetarian to give up beans for this long. lol. so for three days I can eat BEANS. (might want to avoid my close perimeter for a while. LMBO!) Basically, tho I am gonna go with the flow for three days. Friends have been given the go-ahead to wine and dine me for three days (birthday celebrations here!) and (outside of meat) I will be quiet and eat what is put in front of me. (ugh. sorry. I just had a flash nightmare of sugar *&$% piled sky high) ok, so I will probably just take a wee piece of most of it. (except the pizza and quesadillas and red beans and rice (etc)... o and TABOULI. I just had a sudden craving for it. :yum![]() well, I guess that's my "loading menu" (kinda). o and I will imbibe. a little. lol. its been a long dry spell.... then on to a (fairly) clean P2, veggie style. pretty much same as before. Except I am gonna avoid the few things that seemed to cause an UP day. Def tho gonna mix my veggies and prob eat more like "OWL" in the veggie department (what can I say? love my veggies too much!) My best friends for the next 40 days will be Protein Shake and Eggies (hold the yolks!), just like before. O and Greek Yogurt! I have turned my whole family on to this stuff. just plain ole Greek Yogurt (the perfect accompaniment to my daily apple or orange or strawberries or, sometime, with some dill, etc, cukes. lol) O and one thing I am absolutely NOT doing is take a week trip anywhere, even trying to stick to the P2. I am staying home (not literally, just mean not traveling anywhere I can't pack lunch and be home for supper. lol) Like I said, a "clean" veggie-style P2. I really want to lose as much as possible and get as close as I can to my goal weight (and back into my skinny clothes) this round. (fingers crossed here.....) o and I want to say thank you very much to all of you for helping me and giving me the courage to dive into hHcg (even as a veggie) and stick with it! ![]()

Suzi -- I'm impressed at your great stabilization in p3!!! May it so continue!
I'm hanging tough with the Atkins p3, though I am still pretty miserably bloated. I don't think there is much to do but to keep eating well, and weather it through. I am trying to have faith that this is temporary, and that after my body undoes the damage from long-term restriction and overwork, things will normalize. My hunger has normalized now, and a little of the water retention is starting to go, I think ... so I will keep eating well, working out, and attempting not to resume a vicious cycle of diet/rebound/diet/repeat....

Seriously, Cheryl, about the doctor's comment -- I said that I had heard it was good to drink more water if retaining water... and he said "well, I don't know where you heard that, but it's ridiculous."
Needless to say, I wasn't a big fan of this guy! |

![]() And I discovered the worst thing to eat when you are already bloated and retaining water - brussels sprouts. Which I think are part of this whole problem to begin with. But I couldn't let them go to waste! And to make matters worst I bought radishes today which always bloat me too. Grrr....plus the workout water gain....I estimate I am still up about 6-7 pounds. Staying off the scale. Though I wasn't on low calorie as long as you Mini I did cycle P2 for about 4 months this year. And now with working out I'm upping my caloric intake a bit via protein. I betcha this is another part of my problem.

even if I don't hit my goal (which is a long shot, I know) I am done with hHcg. Gonna go back to the "old-fashioned" way of losing the rest, slowly, prob some sort of rogue veggie-style Atkins-ish plan. lol I have learned from all your examples. hHcg is a tool, for short term use only. then the battle (to maintain and not gain) will begin with a vengence! I just do not ever, ever, ever, ever want to regain again like I did. continued prayers, mini, for you to find a solution. |

Suzi -- glad to hear you are being so wise about this.
Riley -- I suspect that you and I are experiencing something fairly similar, though mine is more dramatic -- I restricted a lot longer, and was seriously depleted when I hit goal. Sorry to hear you are still feeling bloated -- it is miserable indeed! I'm a couple pounds down today, and even that is making a difference -- I feel better physically. I'm peeing a lot more today, too, so I think that's hopeful. Thanks so much to everyone for your thoughts and prayers. I think I know the answer, deep inside myself -- I think the answer is to keep eating adequate food, keep working out, and to be patient while the bodily processes heal and regulate themselves. I do think it will be okay to lean back out again, but I need to do it sanely -- no starvation, no quick fixes -- just old fashioned clean eating, muscle building, and patience. I almost had it pegged last summer -- I stabilized at about 122 while eating a ton of food (even a few carbs!), and then slowly started losing the extra weight. I was back down to 118 doing this approach -- and then I got impatient, shot myself in the foot, and went back on p2. That got me to goal, but it also messed up my body pretty badly in the process. I am not doing that again. As hard as it may be to be patient, this vicious cycle has to stop. |

I'm going to stick it out with high fat, moderate protein, low carb (20 to 30 grams) -- and eat based on hunger. I may throw in some IFing too -- not overall calorie restriction, just longer periods of time without eating from time to time-- that seems to work really well for a bunch of rogue bodybuilders (Martin Berkham in particular).

Amen to you too, Sister! Lots of good common, rational sense happening here tonight. It's kind of scarey. But I'm in total agreement with y'all and I know the answers lie in what works best for our own bodies, what we are willing to truly live with and in having the patience and faith to know that what we are doing is going to get us to our destination. Let's not forget that the journey is as important as the destination. I heard that Miley Cyrus song on the radio when I was in the shower this morning and it fit perfectly. "It's the Climb." Sweet dreams tonight, ladies. Love you all. ![]() Last edited by CherylB; 07-12-2012 at 07:18 PM.. |

Embee, I stabilized last year for about 10 months until the holidays, which was my own fault - these past few rounds have been losing the 15-20ish pounds I gained over the holidays. I've stabilized fairly well until recently. Between exercise, eating bloaty foods, and indulging in alcohol on weekends, I'm up about 6 pounds from my lowest. Still, not too bad. These past few months I stabilized pretty well, actually - I would sometimes have pizza, ice cream etc...did correction days as needed.

Well, this was one loooong day! We were at the car dealership 5 HOURS!!!! Why on earth is buying a friggin' car an all day event!? BUT we finally finished up at 10 pm. Yeah, 10! They closed at 9! LOL I bought a new pretty green Malibu. Not a grass green, but its a unique color. I love love love it! I kept the same payments too. I'm a satisfied customer. I almost went and bought a PT Cruiser. But decided against it.
And since I was there forever, today wound up as my 2nd load day. Not an extreme load like yesterday though. Looking forward to tomorrow.

Wow you ladies sure have been chatty while I was away. Mom's second round of chemo is now done...
I feel like I'm retaining water, but dont look like i am. I have not exercised at all. I started natural calm again last night as I was feeling leg cramps. I have never had a stall this long before. If I was in p3. I would be very happy to still be the same every day. ![]() Any ideas? Bee |
