Carrie: praying Noah's dr visit goes well....
![]() Mini: praying you wake up today feeling better and that soon all the "issues" will be overcome. ![]() Cheryl: praying you have a mega-successful round! and the new horse sounds like a lover! Erin: I second the "take a break". I tried a long round and my body finally did like yours. major unbreakable stall. frustrating... but listen to your body when it says enough. I am now having a VERY successful P3 and going to be cycling back to R2P3 after loading this next weekend. As for me, well, today is my b-day (saw 50 a few years ago, Cheryl, enjoy it while it lasts!! lol), and for a present, my body decided to surprise me... pleasantly for a change. Day 19 of my P3 and I was a naughty girl the last few days... ok, I ventured into Carb Land both days. (Sunday I cooked a huge chicken dinner for my fam and couldn't resist snitching some stuffing. and last night, someone brought over some ice cream for my bday and was sweet enough to buy the sugar-free kind (still had carbs tho.) but I didn't want to ruin the moment so I had a bowl. heck, a big bowl. It was good! lol) so for this morning's weigh-in (expecting the worst)..... ![]() I busted an O. yeap. 149.6 finally made it below 150 and still in shock! one of the best presents ever. lol. Thank you, God (cuz I know I didn't deserve it.) (course a winning ticket to last night's $2M lottery would have been nice to go along with it. but I did win $8! which will just make enough cash on hand to treat my two boys at home here to wings tonight from my favorite pizza/wings place, which just happened to send me a coupon saying that if I spend $10 there, they will send me an email voucher for a free pizza of my choice!!... to be used this weekend during my loading days! (so , me! lol)

I like this thread!Let's have this be the last time!
Glad to find a thread where "modifications" are acceptable. I've lost 20 pounds doing Releana January of 2011 and have been pretty close to sticking with my final weight...but....had surgery (elective) also, not paying attention to the vast quantites of red wine and nuts that I love to consume. Starting to load (but not really, tired of gaining a bunch to have to re-lose) with adding more fats for the 2 days,..first day of VLCD on Friday. My "modifications" will include an occasional no- carb cocktail....I can live with all of the P2 foods and love that flat tummy feel...I do the 6 oz of protein and veggies 2x per day and 3 fruits...never hungry. Also, doing Physique 57, Callanetics and walking to try and firm up. So my goal is lose 10 pounds --not really putting a timeframe on it, assume it will take a couple of weeks....then, I will never let myself get above the allotted 2 pounds without taking immediate action! Wish me luck!

You've got a lot on your plate with 10 horses and a home. Do you have a helper for your horses? I volunteer at this place I'm at so you might be able to get a volunteer or two if you can't afford to pay someone right now. There are tons of people like me out there who don't have the money or the place to have a horse of their own but really want the experience of caring for them. I think your rogue hhcg plan sounds very sensible and I agree that we lose some amount of muscle on the 500 calorie plan. I know that I have, and that has monkeyed with my metabolism, not to mention my strength. Have a great round and best of luck with your full schedule. I carry my weight all over, from head to toe. From what I recall, I was always larger in the thighs and upper arms even when I was at a low weight for my structure. But if I ever get back there again, I'm going to view those places with a greater appreciation for what they have become. ![]() How much do you hope to lose before you reach your goal? Suzi!! That's so great that your little refeed got you below that dreaded "O". Sometimes that's all we need is to do something naughty but controlled (or somewhat controlled.) Yea for you! And that new horse (Cowboy) really is a sweetie. It's so exciting to see them slowly expanding. I heard that their ultimate goal is to have about 17 horses and a completely enclosed and climate-controlled arena. I hope at that point that they will consider hiring me for a part time equine care job. Quote:
to all you newbies!! That's a lot of exercising, but your diet sounds like it might be good enough to support all that. And may you lose those 10 lbs speedily and forevermore! Oops. As for me, it's another equine care day. I'm going to have to leave there by 6 so I'll just do what I can up until that point and then bow out. It takes much longer to get the evening stuff completed on days when they are doing lessons and now they have lessons all throughout the week. (Sigh.)
Didn't weigh and probably won't weigh for a while. I hate how high I've gotten and I don't want to keep seeing those awful numbers. I'm prefer to keep my eyes closed. Have a great day, ladies! |

No not weird at all, totally normal with HCG. Sometimes you lose pounds, sometimes inches, sometimes inches and pounds, sometimes neither. It's all good, just part of the process.
Last year there was a woman who lost two sizes with no poundage loss (or something like that). I can't remember her name, but it was very interesting. I gained 20 pounds on "maintenance" (ha ha) and my clothes still fit. I thought I had gained about 5 pounds, that's all it felt like. I think all of that has to do with lean body mass as opposed to actual fat mass. Have a gander at this: Anyway, short on time today. TOM is messing with me, but that's okay. Been there before, just slog it out. Ho hum. No obsessing.

Hi everyone! I've been checking out this site for awhile... I completed R1 in late May and have started R2VLCD1 today. I only had about 25lbs to lose and am trying to lose 15lbs this round. It's been a slower process for me because I don't stick to protocol well, and I probably won't this round either! I find if I just stick to no carb I'm pretty good. I'm really hoping this will be a success!!! I love having a glass of red wine in the evening so I'm struggling a bit.

I'm back - on day#6 of my third P2 round - have lost 6 pounds so far, but I don't know If I would have lost those pounds simply low-carbing (gained them during a cruise/airplane-flights) - anyway, I don't think those pounds were seriously stuck on me!
Now I want to lost 4 more pounds, get down (and stabilize at) 125 - that's where I was as a teen/young adult. I still have a bit of a belly that I would like to get rid of - I very conscientiously think about exercise each day - and then I don't do it! I walk over 5 miles each day, kayak, swim, etc. - but don't do any calisthenics - I know I should, but somehow just never get the oomph that I need. ![]()

Hi I did post pictures, but I think they are in the picture gallery. I read on the dr simion book where if you had less to loose you just stay on his diet until you meet your goal, then add calories using his approved foods for the three weeks. THEN go off, no sugar/starch it for another 3 weeks and go on maintenance. I was maintaining well at 135 but knew I had another 5-10 to go to be honest. Just didn't want to loose more muscle. I am still at 1200-1500 (pretty much my pre diet calories) but leaving out junk foods that added a bit more. If you check in the photo gallery you can see some pics.

Mini, I'm so glad the water seems to be loosening up for you.
Cheryl, the new horse seems like a love! Give him a hug from me! Praying for Noah's checkup tomorrow. This is D8 of R2 for me, though Sunday was a special family dinner for my uncle who came 500 miles to visit, so no On Plan dinner for me. I've been completely good before and after though, but still had a 1 lb gain yesterday which is taking its time about skedaddling. Good to see so many starting off again! Yay us! |

Cheering all of you on in your rounds, maintenance, whatever you are doing ....!
I've definitely got a long way to go still to be back to normal water levels, but with TOM actually happening now, maybe that will normalize rather soon. I am feeling better than a couple of days ago, though -- so I will take what I can get in that regard. Hanging with the Atkins for now -- I have no idea what that will yield long term, but I figure at least it is helping fix whatever metabolic damage I've done with all the restricting. Today ended up being a rest day from exercise, but I'd love to hit the gym good and hard tomorrow if I feel up to it.

Hi y'all. Back from Florida. It was a blast. I did the bikinis and felt great about that...It was a good decision. We met and spent time with Amy's "battle buddies", enjoyed getting a look at Eglin as well as the Naval base in Pensacola. Spent some lovely lovely time at the beach in Destin, saw a cool fly-over on the 4th at Ft. Walton Beach, went shooting with the Army kids, and went parasailing. It was a great, relaxing, energizing, fun time. Glad to be home too.
It will take me a while to catch up here. Hope everyone is well and having a good go.

Sorry for the scanty personals this time but I'll just say to Deb,
back and I'm glad you got to strut your stuff on multiple beaches. Sounds like the perfect time to be around a naval base! That fly-over must have been awesome! Glad all is going well for Amy.I have lost 5.2 lbs so far and I'm in shock. I have NOT been sticking to plan. And still, I lost so it has to be the pellets. I gave up and stopped taking them yesterday afternoon but since I see progress, I'm starting them again today. Maybe it can help me even when I'm being naughty. It must be cause there is no other explanation. to all and to all! Have a nice, cooler Wednesday.BTW: Where on earth did Sue disappear to? The lady with the boyfriend with a house in Belize? Yeah! I just was thinking about her today and I had forgotten her (out of sight, out of mind.) She's been out of sight for some time now. SUE!!! Where are you? Come back and play with us. |

You know Bonnie we are close to being at our goals, but it is hard to figure how to get there without losing muscle. My son is a fitness specialist and says it is very important that I eat protein and some type of natural sugar (fruit) after exercising . A 100 calorie protein shake is good as long as there is some sugar in it. You need that for the fast absorption. As I think we are both older ladies, we do not want to diet off muscle and then gain back fat! I love the callanetics and I am lifting weights at home too. Good Luck!!

Embee -- you may be too new to have a signature -- you have to have been a member for a certain number of days first -- it's in the terms of service somewhere. I think it is 25 days and 25 posts, but I'm not sure about that. In that case, you should be fine.

I think I am feeling worse today, not better, with the water retention.. I did get the insurance hitches worked out, though, and I do have Kaiser for the summer, so I am seeing a doctor this afternoon. I am none too hopeful that will provide any answers, but at least I can probably get some basic labs done, and rule out some of the really serious possibilities.
I'll be able to view the labs myself, so maybe I can make some sense of them, even if the doctors can't.... |
