Berta -- you are probably confusing ketosis, and ketoacidosis, when you are remembering your doctor saying it was dangerous.

Ketosis is simply a state wherein the body uses primarily fat for fuel. Ketoacidosis is a toxic, dangerous state --- I know that diabetics have to be on the lookout for ketoacidosis. On the other hand, ketogenic diets (ones that put you in ketosis) are often the diabetic diets that doctors prescribe.

Hope that helps.

Whoohoo on the losses Dawn -- glad your round is treating you well!

Today is my 7th day on Rx hCG and I've lost 4.2 pounds total from my pre-loading weight (6.4 from loading weight). My doctor's office who prescribed the Rx also gave me ketone sticks to use once a week. Today was my first stick and it wasn't even pink. He said that if it registered a modest color, he probably wouldn't have me change anything, but that if it went dark purple, he might have me bump up to 700 calories per day. I will keep you updated with my future ketone sticks.

Today is my 17th day on Rx hCG and I've lost 9.6 pounds so far. I did another ketone stick on Friday (day 14) and it was exactly like the first one, barely beige, which was probably just from urine.

I did another strip yesterday, which was day 21. Still pale beige. I have one strip left and think I might use it on my third, post-HCG VLC day to see if it changes.

Dr Simeons' says you may cut out anything in P2 you wish! So that includes cutting out the fruit. If you think you would do better with no fruit, then have no fruit. I could not do without my fruit. I love sweets and could easily do without the veggies. So that is what I choose to cut out on P2, if I choose to do without. Good luck to you!!
