Tips on men and hcg
So I am doing R2 starting mid july. I have done well stabilizing and want to lose the last 15lbs. My son, 17, wants to do this diet and has 40 lbs to lose. My boyfriend also has talked about joining in and has 40 lbs to lose (at the least). His doctor said at least!
I am really excited for the whole family to be doing this. ![]() I need any advice I can on how to make this transition not so hard on them. (I do realize they, themself, have to WANT this for themselves. Any advice on the entire family doing this or tips on men on HCG? Do they lose faster? Is it harder on them? Are they hungry with only 500 calories? Or is it just like me being on it? I will be doing all the prep and cooking as I enjoy this. We spoke of a family goal and a little wager. We will post preload weight and every day weigh and write it down on a chart, as I believe the visual is a great motivcater. Every lb lost there will be a dollar added to the jar titled WINNER. (So if I lose a lb I add the dollar. I will be adding for my son as well). If you cheat more than once, you are out. Diet over and you are not allowed to try again this round) No reason for me to prep for you if you cant help yourself. You lose the money you put in. Then at the end of R2 the person with the greatest loss will collect all the money. I do not think I can lose 30 lbs but heck, I will try. I know my son is excited as this will be his senior year and the money would be awesome. Plus he really really wants to lose the weight. He is 240 5 foot 10. I just really want my boy to successed as he is really wanting to lose the weight, even talked about doing another round if he can. So please, I am begging for any tips. ****I posted this on another forum as well, hoping for some great success tips for my son (and boyfriend). Last edited by bekki1; 06-22-2012 at 09:34 AM.. |

My husband has gone through 2 rounds with me, so far.
My husband generally loses better than I do on P2. Our first round, he lost 33 lbs and I lost 24, for example. He does tend to be hungry until about 2 weeks into the protocol...not starving, just nagging hunger. I think a lot of it is head hunger for him since he's used to seeing much larger portion sizes! I try to load him up with as many veggies as I can to make up his full 500 calories and help him stay full. Another of our tricks is Miracle Noodles and sugar-free Jello. Neither are "technically" on protocol and I've read varying opinions on whether they are "free-foods," but they haven't seemed to negatively impact us at all and if you like Miracle Noodles, they can be a great filler! They're not very expensive either...but they definitely are an acquired taste! I'm not terribly fond of them, but husband likes them, so that helped him a lot between meals. I do all of the food prep for us too, so I set up the menus and get his lunch together for work each day. I think having everything pre portioned helps him a lot. He hates pulling out the food scale to properly weigh potions! I put the appropriate portions of veggies and fruit into baggies for grabbing during the day and have our daily menu accessible on the counter, so he can see what he should take for each meal. Personally, I have to be very careful that I don't unintentionally sabotage him by giving him larger portions. It's an automatic habit to give him a little more than what I take for myself! Hope all this helps! Good luck to all of you!

Thank you so very much. My son even told his buddy he was going to do it today while we were all driving together. His friends reply..."thats cool dude that you are supportive of your mom and helping her out." My son looked at me in the rear view mirror and gave me a smile. I am totally ok with that!
