Hi everyone! Sorry to be MIA all weekend. Just needed some sun time--before Cancun next weekend--and down time--from the week. Had a great weekend playing with my kitties although my older boy now sounds like he has laryngitis. What is up with THAT???

Looks like Mini is rocking JUDDD and has a plan in place, Taryl is creeping back into the window, Lara is figuring it out, and everyone is house "purging." I cleaned out some drawers and nooks yesterday (you know--"nooks," where all the personal care products that you don't use go to hide... ). Threw out a giant bag AGAIN. Seriously, there are way too many foot care creams on the market...

Weight has been bouncing around between 142 and 144 on an enormous number of calories (like 3000!!! ) so I'll take it and run. Ramping up exercise this week to build my cardio for Mexico and watching food. P4 should start today but I'm not sure that I want to start introducing grains. What do you all think of adding them slowly like a couple of crackers at lunch or something???

Have a great week everyone!

Good Morning! I'm not on P3 yet, just taking a little interruption. I have a quick question. Isn't it 48 hrs to start on P3 after your last hhcg dose? I'm seeing some websites suggest 72 hrs but I thought that was just for the RX. I have always done 2 non dosing days but don't want to do it if it's wrong. Also one of the instructions for one brand of drops says 48 and the other 72. Don't imagine they are made that different it's still homeopathic!

Thanks!

I have always heard 48 hours for homeopathic and 72 for rx as well. I think the 72 may be just people not updating the documentation from the original which was for rx. JMHO

I'm totally with you on sun time AND cleaning out the "nooks" I'm going to finish cleaning out my bedroom and bathroom today after I get some work done, which means throwing away all of the beauty products lurking in my cabinets that no one ever uses. I've probably got all kinds of body sprays, bubble bath soaps, and creams just biding their time down there...but not for much longer! THEY CANNOT HIDE!!

As for the crackers, I think that's a good starch intro plan. I'm planning on picking a relatively safe starch that I miss and having a bit of that on my first day, which is the 23rd. Woohoo! After a few days, we'll see about some ice cream..

I was 160.6 yesterday and 161.8 today, which I'm fine with since I ate a pretty hearty Father's Day dinner last night

Have a GREAT day y'all!!

Thank you! I'm going with that!

You are doing super awesome! I slowly added in grains and started them in the morning and then waited a day or two to see how it effected me. I would think a few crackers at lunch would be fine. I got too relaxed later and added carbs at dinner. This time I think I'll just keep with my rule of having them before 2pm.

I agree. some whole grain crackers maybe? =)

I do rx and 72 hours is almost not enough, seems like it takes 4 days to get out of my system so my advice is take it easy the first days into p3 in general.

Do your think that theres any truth to the concept that when you do introduce real foods you can do fat and carbs or sugar and carbs but once you mix fat sugar and carbs youre in trouble? Someone explained this to me like 3 years ago and I just wonder if theres any truth in it.

I'm up .8 but I'm okay with it. This makes me approximately 2lbs over the window but I'm okay with that too. Eating very low carb and I will most likely see a drop tomorrow. Thinking about skipping dinner agin, my body seems to like that. =)

I totally agree with the whole attraction factor being something you grow into. I'm just not going to sweat it and see what happens. Most of all I wouldnt want to lose him as a friend. If he really wants something serious he would have to work at it, I'm not about giving the milk away for free lol.

Mooo... and Raarf. lol have a blessed day. ~Lara

WOE: one day at a time!! LC!
Start Date: July 14, 2003 - every day!!
Well Helloooo, and Happy Monday my stable friends !

I'm back from a wonderful and fun-filled weekend in SCal!! I really was looking forward to is so much that I figured the "real" experience wouldn't measure up, KWIM? Well, I was wrong!! I had a blast!! The Friday night beach party w/ my old college friends was def the highlight!! And on Sat. after a fun day at the beach w. the fam we stopped by my college (UCI) to get a new (smaller) sweatshirt and it happened to be commencement for the BioSci dept. So cool to reminisce as it was 20 years ago, to the day, that I graduated w. my bio degree!! Fun!! Saw my Aunt and Uncle too, which is always nice. Sunday we did bfast at El Torito (which used to be here in AZ, and I miss it so!!) and then dropped dh and the girls back at the beach and went and saw Les Mis w. my old roomie. Had the best weekend!! Ate too much (as planned) and am now home. Tired but happy!!

Shelby-thanks for the new thread!! on the breakup . It sounded like you were thinking about that for a while now. good for you making concious choices and NOT settling!! That's my best advice to all my GF's. Don't settle!! Much better to break it off than be saddled and miserable the rest of your life. Enjoy your cancun trip!! How cool you're preparing for it!! You'll look hawt and have a blast!!

Berta-you're getting all ready for another round? Hope you can enjoy your load and the Rx gives you minimal hunger this round!!

Cocoa-you're too cute. Enjoy your last few days in Chicago but you're heading out to LA at a great time. Love the beach!! You're doing great staying in window and your attitude is right on!! Relax as much as you can, that stress is a monster and wreaks havoc on your weight!!

Mini-good for you!!! you sound like you're in a good place and ketosis is your friend!! Hope JUDDD is really the key to you feeling well, healing your metabolism and shedding a few lbs too!!

Taryl-good to "see" you!! I missed you too. Hope you're back in window and happy w. where you are. Sounds like you're doing quite well!

Lara-Hmmm, you and your bestie - intriguing. No spark at all? No butterflies? Hmm. I'd keep an eye on that. I've had "friends" like that, where I wasn't quite interested. Then, they moved on, liked someone else, and I realized (too late) that I really *did* like them . Hope you can sort it out while he's still interested. I'm kinda' fickle. I want what I can't have, and if they're too attentive I usually am not interested. Hope it works out. Having a base of friendship is ideal. Dh and I started out as BFF's and went from there .

CATri-good to see you!! You're back for another round? I still remember your pics. I think I've told you that already . Very inspirational!! You're pretty fit already, but after your last round I was really inspired to give hcg a good try!! Hope you're where you want to be and can maintain easily!

Lily-great job!! Glad to have you here!! Hope you too stabilize well!!

I didn't weigh today . I know it won't be a happy number, but I feel great!! Enjoying my coffee/cream and planning a LC week. I'll do as close to Atkins as I can. No CD's planned (they ran out of Voskos as my Sprouts ). So, I'll do clean LC and hope for ketosis. I'm quite pleased w. my metabolism these days. I have softball tonight and then will do the gym twice (at least ) this week. Should be a good "normal" week and I hope to LIVE well .

Here's a pic of me and my dd's at the beach Fri.

Good morning ...

My weekend was busy too! Anniversary for my folks (45yrs) - dad chose the KEG to eat at. We had Mushroom Neptune and Calamari for appetizers (I'm not big into Calamari so didn't eat that), my steak was coated in crushed pecans and instead of goat cheese I had them put Blue Cheese on it ... mmmmmmmmmmm it was YUMMY with a NIP and for my side dish I chose veggies with it. I new that we were going out so I had for my breakfast AND lunch a smoothie. The next morning I dropped 1.2lbs

On Fathers Day we went out for Brunch ... right so you know how well that went - I OVERATE!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... Then I saw 'sugarfree' desert ... like a wingnut had some of that. At breakfast I had a smoothie. Then I didn't eat for the rest of the day because honestly I was still STUFFED ... This morning I'm UP 3LBS! ...

So, today to get back on track I will be having a smoothie for lunch (had a smoothie for breakfast) ... and if I'm still hungry I will run over to the grocery store and get some chicken. Supper will most likely consist of another smoothie!

I NEED to get these 3lbs off!

What I put in my smoothie:
Greek yoghurt, coconut milk, frozen berries, lemon twist stevia, cream cheese, 1scoop of whey powder (25g of protein), 1tbsp of chia seeds.

I'm curious what is full fat or heavy cream??? when I look in the grocery story I can not find such a thing ... I see whipping cream and half & half ... then there's the cream that you put in your coffee.

Hi all! (and hey mini!)

I am subscribing to this thread as I prepare for my first P3. Tomorrow is my VLCD40 and I will be doing my 2 (or 3) days without hHcg starting Wednesday. I am so looking forward to FAT. (that sounds weird. lol)

Quick summary of me: I am one of the "rogues" around here, simply because I am a lacto-ova-vegetarian. (I eat dairy and eggs only) I have done quite well with my eggies (whites only) and gy and protein shakes, but I do envy you all the meat choices in P2 etc. me, I'm just looking forward to cheese at this point! (and yes I will add it slowly and stick to the low-carb varieties).

Probably because of the diet variations, I lost 15 pounds over the 40 days (right now up a tad cuz of TOM due). Not as much as I'd have liked, but still the most successful 40 day weight loss ever! (and considering I have tried like 6 other diets over the last 2 years and only lost a total of 5 pounds net thru all of them, I'm happy happy

I am so looking forward to a successful P3 and then planning on going into one more P2, which will hopefully take me close to goal.

For now, just following and reading.... P3 is still a strange beast to me.

Congrats, you should be proud! 15 lbs is hard to get off, no matter what diet you're on I was really excited for fat too, and I could tell my body wanted it. Just be careful eating it for the first couple of days so you don't make yourself sick on accident!

Welcome back Julie!! Good to see you! TOTALLY agree on the stress thing, can't let it get to me! I'm so glad your weekend was awesome! I'm excited to be in SCal! Lots of exclamation points!

I wouldn't get on the scale either if I knew it was gonna mess with my mood, so just do some LC, feel good, work out, and weigh when you're ready PS your pic is CUTE!!

Good morning! Down to 169.4, feeling great, and my period came. No baby means another P2, which is a bummer and excellent all at once, I'm not sure how to feel! Also, since the aforementioned period came, that means some of the higher weights this week were being impacted by my monthly water retention during PMS, which is even BETTER news, as it goes away on its own by the end of my period.

I will probably begin loading on Friday, as AF should be tapering off by then, and begin hCG Sunday or Monday. We'll see what happens. I had a full length P3 and a P4 even longer than recommended for round two, so I'm feeling ready to drop more weight. I'm not thrilled about no babies right now but God is sovereign over this and all else, so whether I understand or not, I am grateful for way things have happened and going to make the best of it

Welcome Suzi~ I've heard that you can work out in p3 however it may cause slight gains. If youre okay with that I say go for it.

Julie~ Your daughters are gorgeous! Sounds like you had fun in Cali, and omg I miss El Torito too!! And North Woods Inn, along with a list of my old favs.
I have mixed emotions about my bestie, but I will just leave it alone and see what happens. You do make some good points and I'm a lot like you when it comes to wanting what you cant have etc. I just really dont want to lose him as a friend. He makes me laugh and I need that right now.

Ok back to work... boo.

Hello everyone

I thought I would re-introduce myself.... I have been following Dr. S's hcg protocol using the patches since 4/14/2012 and today is my 1st day on P4. I have successfully lost 28 pounds and stabilized very easily on P3 for the past 3 weeks. I am hoping to jump in here while working the 3 week maintenance and then doing R2P2 and this time DH will be joining me Cooking will be much easier for two. (We have 4 children ages 18-27).

A bit about me...54 years young, full time Contract Manager, Wife, Mom and Student (in that order) working towards walking with her bachelors in Public Administration in May.....after years of trying to complete my degree it is finally happening. Transplanted to Florida from NJ 19 years ago, I still call Jersey 'home'. I miss seasons and my friends but do not miss snow, ice or freezing weather.

I have had weight issues my entire life and this is the LAST time I am ever going to be unhealthy and overweight! I am making some significant changes in my life -- all for the better!!!

I look forward to supporting and cheering on the members of this group....I have been a member for a while now but just lurking. Best of luck to everyone on their personal journeys!

TC

You remember me! Long time no see! You look amazing!! Great pic of you and your girls!

Well, I may be fit, - just finished my first Ironman (2.4 mi swim/112 mile bike & 26.2 mile run) but I'm back to being fat!!! Yes, gained the whole 25 lbs back despite training 20 hrs a week. Me and long distance just don't work. Every time I train for a long race I gain. It wasn't diet either, this time I saw a sports nutritionist. So I'm doing my first round in 2 yrs, I'm down 15 lbs, and have a little bit more to go 5-10 lbs. But I'm taking an interruption of 4 days. From here on out, if I continue to race, it will be short distance, or I may just stick with weights and high intensity/short duration cardio.

I am SO proud of you for doing so well and keeping it off. You inspire ME!

Thanks! Glad to see you, sorry about the regain. I was training for a 5K and remembered my previous experience w. "distance" training that it doesn't help me lose any weight. If anything, I gained That's pretty common from what I've read. Now, mind you, that's nothing compared to the level you're working at, but I'm sad to see it doesn't help you lose. At least you know you've got a healthy metabolism! I switched to weights w. 2-3 sessions of HIIT each week. I like it better (it's quicker) and like what it's doing for me. I also enjoy it more. I need to do another round myself, but am giving strict LC another go to see if it can get me down where I'd like to be. I have been spending the past month+ refeeding and trying to up my metabollic rate (eating a lot!!). It's working, but I'm also up about 10lbs . I'm pretty happy now, but would like to lose this 10lbs. Another round early July if LC fails. Either way, not stressing. Know it'll happen.

Lara-IKR?? Why, oh why, did El Torito leave AZ? And thanks about my dd's. Beautiful inside and out (all bias aside ).

Taryl-sorry about TOM and another round of P2 instead of a baby. God knows it all, and His plan and timing are perfect. You've got the right perspective and I hope this round is quick, successful and enjoyable!!

Suzi- I added back exercise in P3, full force. The scale went up about 2lbs, and I fought it w/ CD's for the first 2 weeks, then I decided to stop fighting w. it, and allowed a larger window. YMMV, good luck!

TC- to you too!! I'm a lifer myself, but have been down 100+lbs for almost 9 years now. It can be done! Sounds like you have already stabilized well!! If you take it slowly, P4 will go well for you too!! Congratulations!!

Coffee-your smoothies sound good!! Never added cream cheese, but I'll bet that's great!! Don't sweat the gain. Restaurants always do that. You'll be down soon enough!

I'm trying to keep up to date. . Had tuna salad all day. Eggs for bfst. Not a CD, but drinking plenty and staying clean, homemade LC. Off to softball. It's down to 103, should be a lovely night to play!! We play at 6:30, so the sun is still hot, although going down during our game. Quite exciting when you can't see!! Maybe I'll sweat off 10 lbs. Shelby-can I borrow your scale?

Hello all! Welcome to the newbies and fresh P3'rs
I am .5 under LDW... today was the first time weighing since starting P3 unexpectedly (8 days ago) ~ so yippee for that! Not worrying about my weight too much must be why I am BELOW LDW a week into it. I am usually at the top of my window on my good days, rarely below.. and usually have had a correction day by now. I'll take it!
16 days till cycling back into P2, but I am a bit nervous that the next round will be hard.

Wow ladies -- this thread is hopping!!!

Julie, your positive energy is contagious -- I love it!!!!!!! So glad your trip was so wonderful -- and you look amazingly radiant and peaceful!

I think some of that may have rubbed off on me, at least in terms of being committed to healing my metabolism and getting out of the caloric restriction cycle. I'm very tired of living in fear of the scale and in a constant state of depletion -- the result of way too much p2 for way too long.

Shelby -- I bow to your caloric intake!!! May it so continue, and may you be able to maintain eating so well I am also eating quite a large amount on my up days right now, though today my appetite was less than it had been, so maybe that will even out somewhat -- at least I have the down days to compensate.

I haven't weighed, and I suspect I won't for another week or so -- I'm working out again, so the scale will be wonky anyhow -- but the goal at the moment is to get my metabolism working again, and get serious about some muscle building -- and hope some fat loss and lb loss comes with the JUDDD territory. I think it will, but I may need to do some moderating and some tweaking to get there. At least for now, though, I am not thinking about doing another hcg round. I may reconsider that later, after seeing where a few months of JUDDD gets me -- but at the moment, that option is off the table. I clearly need a break from that kind of caloric deprivation.

CaTriGirl --

Congratulations on the Ironman!!!!!!!!! That's a phenomenal accomplishment

I'm another one who gains when I train for distance -- steady state cardio of any kind is a nightmare for me that way My body is built for endurance, and it becomes very efficient at conserving energy while chugging right along.

Like you, I do better with weights, and with HIIT -- luckily, I love lifting, so that isn't a problem -- but it just seems so cruel that our bodies would do that to us, doesn't it??? I guess if we were trekking across the frozen tundra looking for the occasional dead animal for food, we'd appreciate how efficient the body really can be... but that isn't much of a comfort to me most of the time...lol!

Taryl -- I just took a look at your link -- your progress is phenomenal!!!!!!! You have come so far, and have such a great deal to be proud of! (The yarns are utterly gorgeous, too!)

I was amused at the SCA picture -- I'm a former Faire gal, and still enjoy a lot of the re-enactment scene, though I am mostly hanging out among the Steampunk crowd these days.

Ugh. My neck has been hurting for two days now. I decided to do a steak day and I dont think I can make it. Feeling very emotional for some odd reason. Oh yeah I accidentally skipped 'The Pill' Sunday and Monday which could explain the weight gain and the bad attitude haha. Wish there was a pill I could take to minimize my girly woes. LOL I think that I might go crazy if I dont eat all day. I will have to get lunch cause I was trying to be a good girl and leave my lunch at home, wah. Lara

It's actually the beginning of p4 for me... so technically I can add carbs. I am however 4 lbs over at this time.

My choices are;
A. do a steak day
B. eat one meal and have whatever I want
C. eat all day and forgetaboutit
d. eat low carb

lol can you tell I'm trying to talk myself into being bad?
help! lol

Hey all! Just stopping by!!!

Shelby, I followed CMarie's advice on all my P4's and I do pretty darn good on carbs. I add in half a slice of whole wheat toast for two days, then add in one entire slice for two more days, then I add in two slices for two more days (always in the am!!) then I add in a bowl of oatmeal (either steel cut or rolled oats) then if I am ok, I add it twice a day, so like oatmeal for breakfast, then whole grain pasta for dinner, so that I am doing grains twice a day...then I just play around with it. This time around I jumped in after the oatmeal to white flours and dessert and sugar LOL...gained only .2 oz. each day ( I did two days in a row) and went up 8 oz. after eating like a piglet (was pretty stoked) so I did a steak egg cheese CD on Sunday, then low carb the following day (Monday) after the CD and I am back to where I need to be! Yay!

Hope that helps!

Hello all!

Lara - lol you baaaaad girl I know you're trying for a steak day. If you really can't, just eat LC. If the womanly hormone cycle is driving you absolutely bonkers with cravings (hey it happens) then eat once and do whatever. I won't let you think much about the last option.. Hope your neck gets better! I'm still dealing with this allergic reaction on my right arm from something I did on Saturday - I've got tiny itchy bumps all over it, but JUST that arm I really need to see an allergist..I'm apparently not allergic to very much but one or two things make me break out and I need to know what they are!!

Mini - Sup?! Looks like you have your priorities in order there. Glad you're doing well and I hope you continue to do well on JUDDD!

Taryl - You correct weight so well! You really know your body. I wish you all the best on your upcoming round and future babymaking

Dbunny -

Suzi and Cyn -

Julie/Lara - WAIT I'm going to CA, what is El Torito?! Delicious Mexican?! *instant curiosity*

---Okay, about me: 161.8 today again, so definitely in window. I seem to hover around 161-162 most of the time, and with LIW being 161, it seems perfect. I think I gain when I get crazy with the dairy, specifically cream cheese. I did do a steak day once but it was actually kinda fun..lol. Packing and getting ready to move to Cali all day, with some remote work thrown into the mix..assuming I can actually get my brain around to focusing on it. Maybe. Oh, and a massage sometime. I need it!!

to you!
