P3 snack help

Hey everyone.

I seem to be losing weight in p3 (towards the end.) I assume it's because I am not snacking in between B/L/D. I cannot find a list of what is acceptable to have. When they say no sugar, do they mean NO SUGAR as in everything including natural sugars as well? so no apples/oranges/almond butter? There is conflicting information everywhere online as to what is acceptable and what is not.

Some sites say you can have an apple with peanut butter on it, some sites say stay the hell away from that etc/etc. Some say you can have strawberries some say you cannot. So I figure I would ask the pros. I just need a couple things I can snack on for the rest of the week as this is my last week on p3. I am sure this information may benefit other members as well. I would definitely refer to this list in the future as I do another round.

I am on P3 D14. and my weight has been as follows.

LIW (5/27/12) - 209 (started hcg at 235 ^_^ )

206.8 (5/30/12)
209
209.2
210.8
208.6
209
208.2
207.4
207.8
207.4
207.2
207
206.6
206 ( Today 6/12/12 )

So I guess I was doing well but now I seem to be losing a bit much.

My menu is as follows:

Breakfast
3 hard boiled eggs
1-2 cups black coffee ( may have another cup throughout day)

Lunch
Buffalo chicken (or soy sauce chicken) Salad (no sugar in soy or hot sauce I checked) If you want specifics it's keikoman soy and franks hot sauce
Breast chicken cut up ( a good helping of this chicken, about 2-3 times what we got on p2)
Salad contains: Lettuce, Tomatoes, cucumbers, green onions, feta cheese, olive oil, apple cider vinegar, green olives, avocado, broccoli.

Dinner is the same as lunch.

I still have 2 liters or more of water a day since p2.

Any help/info/comments/anything is appreciated!

Hi, read this... A Plan for Surviving P3, P4, and Lifelong Maintenance

I dont see why strawberries would be bad, unless you eat a bucket of them lol
some people react to peanut butter... some dont... try it and see.

you can click on the recipe page for ideas on what to eat...
this phase really just depends on how you personally react to foods.
keep track of what youre eating so that its easy to tell what you shouldnt be eating. My snacks are cheese, bacon, berries... etc.
Since youre losing in p3 my guess is that your body is saying up the good carbs! Try some corn or a potato in phase 4. Youre doing great!Lara

iv'e always heard to save peanut butter for p4---just started p3 today, and i sure could use some, love the stuff, we are allowed apples, thats a natural sugar, just need to read label on things for added sugar----need to stay aways from high sugar fruits, such as bananas-pineapple--but all berries, a peach or nectarine --pear and melons, thats what i have on my list

I was told to follow Atkins induction list, and to add in dairy, nuts, and eggs slowly. Fruit can be high in sugars too so I would just watch. Berries are best because they are lowest in carbs.

I agree with my esteemed colleagues

Peanut butter, a legume, is actually for P4. BUT you could try almond butter on P3! It's yummy on an apple. The thing about fruit is just one or two a day is enough on P3, and try to pick the lower glycemic ones, berries in addition to the P2 fruits and the ones listed by sunny7. The totally natural sugar IN a fruit is ok for P3. Something made with fructose that has been refined is probably not going to work for P3.

It doesn't look like you've added much dairy, which is why you've probably stabilized so well. Most of us, if we jump into dairy and nuts we end up with issues LOL (me especially) so you're doing great. Maybe eat a little more volume? or add a little more healthy fat? Those would be my suggestions.

Great!

So i appear to be doing ok then. Thank you all very much for the information.

Got a friends wedding coming up so didn't want to foul it up now.

I did try some almond butter. I actually prefer it over peanut butter. only gained .4 so I imagine its fine. I had some on an apple. Yummy!

I will try adding some of the foods listed in that thread that was linked for snacks in between meals. I haven't been snacking at all.

Thanks everyone.

Good snacks are:

Avocado
olives
celery with cream cheese
pork rinds
a handful of berries
hard cheese (string cheese, a little at a time)

everything in moderation. Add things slowly and listen to your body....
