Hi everyone! Happy (?) Monday!
I had a fabulous weekend--a fun concert on Friday with The Dude, an absolutely GREAT girlie day on Saturday including sunning, BBQ, Shakespeare in the park, cocktails and classic sci-fi movies, and a new addition to my family yesterday--a little Russian Blue girl to keep my Russian Blue boy company. I was still 3 pounds outside of my window on Saturday morning so I will continue to correct this week, probably alternating cd's with either induction, clean eating or both. I want to be able to relax and eat more intuitively so I am (gasp!) going out on a limb and not weighing every day. I am going to do this for a few weeks and see how I do. My main goal is to maintain under 145, INCLUDING vacation/indulgence weight. It's a hefty window indeed but I really didn't want to be too thin and as long as I am not inching into the 150's every second day, that's is fine with me. Hope all is well with everyone else!

Good morning ladies!!
Sorry I'm not much of a poster on the weekends . I'm usually running around I never get on the computer.Shelby-you've got a good attitude. I'm sure you'll do just fine. Your window is large, but I know you'll spend 95% of your time in the lower end of it. Vacations and life are fun!! Eating and indulging is a big part of them. You've worked so hard for so long, you are finally in a nice low spot (weight wise) and deserve to live a bit! WTG!! :high: Berta-I'm w/ Dawn. I too have had the "homeopathic vs. Rx hcg" debate. The homeopathic basically tricks your body into thinking it's the real thing. If we buy the impact hcg has on our hypothalmus (to keep our metabolism chugging even though we're basically starving ourselves on the 500cals), then it's not a far stretch to accept the homeopathic does basically what the Rx does. Many have done rounds w. both the hHCG and the RxHCG with comparable results. The bottom line is, the hHCG works. Controlled studies of those following the 500cals w.o it, vs those who were on it, show that the hHCG does work. It's definitely something you need to decide for yourself though. Whichever route you go, enjoy the success you've already had!! Dawn-are you doing any further hcg rounds? Are you enjoying JUDDD? Hope you find your happy route!! ![]() Lara-how was your weekend? Cocoa-hmmm, meat!! Glad you had fun at your bbq and were in control. Good for you!!I'm leaning toward a week day LC/CD/healthy eating approach, and then enjoying my weekends as I feel like it. As much as I'd like to see LDW or even window at this point , I don't seem to have the willpower or desire to actually sacrifice to get there. I really think the round I have planned for July is wreaking havoc on my motivation to work this weight back off. All that RRARF and metabolism reading is warring against my desire to be lower on the scale. Just when I decide I've been indulging long enough, I face anotehr party, BBQ, restaurant, and think "ah, 1 more day off plan". Will it really hurt? ![]() So, here I am. 9lbs above where I should be. But, happy. My temps are up, I'm sleeping well, feeling good. I have plenty of energy and can tell my metabolism is humming along. I'm confident that my next round will go well. I may end up just staying in the 150's until then. I'm doing my regular GYCD today, it is Monday after all .Hope you're all doing well!!

Julie--for the moment i am doing JUDDD. Today is my UD and I was able to eat at work
Remember the conversations we would have about restaurant gains Now they are not effecting me Julie--One more thing I have noticed is that I am not cold anymore. I didn't feel freezing my last round either. I wasn't sure if that was because I was cheating everyday on P2 or my thyroid finally kicked in. When is your next round? I promised another poster I would do a round with her starting this week but don't feel much like being on P2 LOL.

Dawn-good for you!! 4.5lbs in the first week? That's P2 loss worthy!! WTG!! I'd stick w. that if it's working for you. The concept is good and I think it's also good to keep your body guessing by varying the calorie levels!!
It didn't work for me. I wasn't mentally or physically prepared to do true DD's, and the rebound sense of entitlement on the UD's negated any loss I could have had. I gained 3lbs in 2 weeks and was mad. I felt like I had sacrificed for nothing. So, I stopped. I think if I had been more strict on the DD's (I did 650-700cals) and less indulgent on the UD's (lots of carbs on those) I would have had better results. It was too soon after hcg though. I couldn't wrap my head around further calorie restriction.I'm doing another round soon. Loading over July 4th (my anniversary). I've been working on my metabolism lately too, and my temps are up too. That's a very good indicator that your metabollic rate is up. Good for you!! . I'll enjoy my daily apple and stawberries. That's my favorite part of the plan . If I keep talking it up I hope to be excited by the time I start!! Let me know what you decide. I'll see by your posts on the boards ![]() |

The only thing I miss on P2 is my treats. I have included them in my UDs and have done well. There was one day I went wild and had a half bag of Nestle crunch bars but I still lost weight--a full lb!!!--the very next day. My body is probably as weary as I am from the hcg and strict calories. I have NOT gone hog wild, just a bit wild and it works. I am eating what I want and losing. My UDs are mainly low carb (a basic P3 diet) with a treat thrown in, so I don't feel like I am hog wild. My DDs are completely boring, but if that is what it takes to eat what I want and lose, so be it!! Boring for one day is better than boring for 21 days LOL. So nothing to change just yet. But, I might just join you in early July!! I had ice cream cake at a wedding over the weekend and lost a full pound this morning. I was bringing pieces of cake after piece of cake after piece of cake to the table for us to share and he thought I was going overboard LOL. He was like "whoa nelly!!! Let's not hog the cake!!!" He was trying to hold me back from eating too much, but I ate 2 pieces and tried the other 2 pieces and lost!! Even he cannot figure it out. The diet of the week, I tell him. Oh, well enough of me!! I have high hopes for a big whoosh for your GYCD. I love that one!!!

New thread! Yay!
Shelby - I'm so glad you're back! And you DID get a new Russian Blue, how sweet! Can't wait to meet her I like your attitude on your weight - being comfortable with yourself is the most important thing. Also, eating clean just boosts your self-esteem even more. At least it does for me! I'll be doing induction eating this week, mostly. I think the only way I may not be technically induction sometimes is in the amount of veggies I eat. As per the request of my clinic, I'm not eating nuts or yogurt yet. Which is sad, I miss nuts sometimes. Ah well, soon enough!Dawn - I'm so happy that JUDDD is working magic for you and you're doing something that you enjoy. It's clearly making you happier! I hope that it continues to have these effects for as long as possible. Then if you do hCG again, you'll feel better and will probably stick to it a little easier. Julie - Heck yeah meat! (I approach every BBQ with that mentality, lol) I think I had two of every meat that night A July round with you would be so fun! But I think I'm gonna take the time in P4 that I'm supposed to take and let myself normalize a bit. Right now I'm thinking end of July/August for a second round, we'll see!--- I'm copying this from another thread basically, so apologies in advance for the repeat. I think my scale is messing around with me (which it likes to do occasionally) and was giving me different weights every time I stepped on it this morning. The problem was that it kept going back and forth over the line of correction! I keep looking at it like ? So I decided to play it safe today and am eating just roasted chicken all day. That and I ate one HB egg around 11am. We'll see how it goes! I have never done this before but it's turning out to be a pretty delicious day Hopefully I can have a better idea of where I am tomorrow. to everyone!Last edited by cocoapeanut; 06-11-2012 at 01:30 PM.. |

Well, little glitch in my GYCD. I didn't buy enough!!
But, I did have Slim6 LC Kefir in the fridge, so I finished my day w. that for "dinner". Made a smoothie which was yummy. I'm not sure how it'll fit into the CD magic, but I did the best I could. Taryl-glad it's coming back down for you. You're doing great! Cocoa-I'm a proud carnivore too!! Hope your modified CD goes well, I'm sure you'll be down well tomorrow!! |

Ladies, I am coming over here to post, because the JUDDD thread is totally dead, and the rogues thread has died, too, and plus, the cool people post here (HI Shelby, Julie, Dawn!!)
SO, I am trying out JUDDD, coming off of a weirdly rogue p2... and let's just call today DUDDD instead! ACK!!! Carbs are NOT my friends (I was seeing what happened if I included some, in the form of fruit and some honey). I did fine yesterday on my up day, but today -- my first attempted down day --, I was a starving, craving, mood swinging mess by evening time (TOM round two isn't helping!) SO... I aborted mission...I let today be a full on refeed day (yeah, I'll pay for that one, but I'll live) -- and I start again tomorrow -- low carb this time. In fact, I am starting tomorrow with a fat fast, to kickstart ketosis, and then will proceed with a very low carb JUDDD from there. Call this a lesson learned --it's back to low carb for me, baby -- at least it only took one real duddd of a day to drive that point home. Now, on to the real business of JUDDDing. Once I am in the swing of things, and at goal, I will try cycling in some carbs (maybe) -- but right now, that just is NOT a good idea! I'm staying far, far from the scale for a few days after today, too -- I shudder to think what the combination of the refeed and the return of TOM would show!

Hey there everyone... I was mia yesterday. Didnt want to admit that I was 5.8 over (I think) but now I'm only 2.2 over the window so I feel better lol.
The weekend was good Julie... but very sad. I went to an event for my ex on Friday and it was just really hard seeing the family and all of his pictures etc. To make it worse I went with his best friends ex who promised that she wouldnt cause any trouble but tried to cause drama so I wound up leaving. Tucson is way too small. I feel like whenever I go downtown I run into someone who knows me or knew him. I am trying to keep this day under control as far as what I eat just cause I dont want to bounce up and have to do another steak day. I have to try to keep myself busy. Maybe I will skip dinner?

Lara! I'm so sorry. It's hard enough to lose someone, but to have to repeatedly relive it is doubly hard! I agree about keeping busy-that's my plan today too. We know the weight will go back down. Give it some time Mini-good to see u! I haven't kept up on the rogue thread , so what happened to your P2? I'm sorry it didn't get you where you want to be. I hope JUDDD is your key. Many have found success and enjoyment on that plan! You'll get the DDs with some practice. My modified CD netted me a 2lb drop. Well, 2.5, but after my weekend anything would likely have helped. The metabolic reset has been good. I feel good, warmer and peppier. I've managed to clean and organize our whole house in the past week and a half. Previously I'd let the house slide and do the bear minimum to keep it together. Im not gaining weight anymore, despite my repeated carb and calorie indulgences-im talking Mexican dip/chips, cake, gelato, sweet potato fries etc. im still 7 lbs above where i should be, would be if i were strictly following simeon's plan. But, i am really enjoying my time off. Im keeping up exercise, but not as agressively as initially planned. Today, I'm doing a barbell strength class at my old gym w/ a friend, then taking our kids to the pool afterwards. Should be a good day! I will do weights and hiit cardio later this week. I'm gradually seeing a change in my mindset toward food. I don't fear, restrict, long for, or glamorize it. If I really want something, it's ok. I usually don't though. I'm leaning toward LC, but not as afraid of carbs. I'm learning that adding them in is good for my overall health and metabolism. Kinda hard for this diehard LCer to wrap my head around. I'm still a work in progress, but doing all this "work" so that hopefully my next p3/p4 will be easier and my body will accept a new, lower set point weight. And I won't have to watch every morsel I eat. And I'll live happily ever after! ![]() |

Hi Mini and Lara and Julie and Taryl and Cocoa and Dawn!!!
Good luck with JUDDD, Mini. I think you'll do just fine once you get the carb cravings back under control. The simple sugars are the hardest for me. A little potato, a little rice, not too much of a problem. But add booze or honey or real sugar and LOOK OUT! Julie - It's encouraging to hear that RRARF is working for you. If I can stabilize where I am, I may give it a shot myself. I know we are all looking for that "happily ever after..." Lara - to you. to everyone else!I am hovering around LIW+6-7 and I am ok with that. I weighed myself this morning and was up a pound from Saturday weigh-in. I had a glass of red wine last night which sometimes makes me retain and sometimes makes me lose so no clue which today since I didn't weigh yesterday! I also had a very strange night of sleep, with odd dreams and the new baby kitty sleeping with me so that may have impacted it as well. Having that old P2 staple beef and cabbage tonight so I'll see how the scale likes THAT tomorrow. I was REALLY hungry yesterday midafternoon which I will attribute to a lunch with not much fat--chicken thighs today instead of chicken breast. I also woke up hungry which is kind of unusual so I am going to try and keep a closer eye on it. I may need to start eating breakfast again but I am also trying to eat to hunger which egenrally means waiting until later. Ah choices! I am SOOOO NOT a fly-by-the-seat-of-my-pants girl! ![]() |

Hello HCGERS
![]() well I was going to start JUDDD today but was over my LDW so doing a egg CD today. I also just recieved my RX HCG.12 vials. It was such a mess getting my order straightend out I thought I had ordered the wrong kind since I had never ordered it before. It said for injections only. Well I want to do sublingual so I cancelled the order.Re- ordered and got to thinking and wondering if it was pre mixed or not as I want the powdered to mix myself![]() They said it wasn't powder so I cancelled that! ![]() Then recieved an e-mail saying I would be charged 25.00 cancellation fee for re-stocking.Well then they went on to say if I would go ahead and order they would cancel the fee and send me 14 vials instead of 12. So I agreed.(Because I found out that it is powdered but you can either use it to inject or to do sublingual )I had just agreed to go ahead with the order last night. Then lo and behold today the door bell rang and it was my HCG all the way from INDIA They did not cancel my order. So again I got ahold of Live Chat and got it all straightend out as I wanted to make certain I wasn't charged for 24 vials It was sure a mess but actaully my own fault for not being informed![]() So if you ever want toder RX HCG you will know it will say for injections only... but that is not true. You mix it and just use it sublingually! Now you know the rest of the story ![]() I was over my LDW so doing an egg CD today and maybe tomorrow depening on my wt. in the morning.

What is RAARF? It is a funny word, and makes me giggle doubly, just because I know it means something, and I have no idea what it is!
I don't think I can entirely blame yesterday's free for all on the carbs.... I think the vast majority was a big hormonal whammy -- but be that as it may, I am doing a very low carb/high fat up day today, to really get the hunger and cravings under control --and starting with another down day tomorrow -- low carb this time, thank you very much. I start workouts again tomorrow, and that should go a long way to making me feel better about my body and my eating in general, I think. I hope I can handle JUDDD -- once I get rolling with it, I think I will be able to do it -- but right now, it is a bumpy ride. I haven't weighed, but I know I have jumped up quite a lot in just the last three days -- I also know that most of that will come off fairly quickly once I get rolling with the down days. I'm struggling with the transition, for sure -- I ate one big meal today, mid day, and now I am going to fast for the remainder of the day, and start tomorrow's down day fasted -- that might help. I think throwing some intermittent fasting in along with the JUDDD might be key -- I get extra hunger suppression from doing that, and I actually rather enjoy it, too. |

Rrarf is rehabilitative rest and aggressive refeed. It's Matt Stone's(180degreehealth) . My understanding of it, and please someone correct me if I'm wrong, is you sleep more, exercise less, eat a LOT-mostly carbs and measure your body temps to gauge your metabolic rate. There's a bit of leptin reset thrown in there too. I've been basically doing my own version of this throughout May. It was nice that it coincided w/ my vacation and bday
. I was skeptical (always am w/ new things) but it sounded like fun! My temps were about 96.8 when I first woke up (even w/ thyroid meds). They're now 97.6-which if you've tried to do this, you can appreciate ![]() Shelby-glad you're settling in. Sounds like you're happy with your weight and enjoying life! Good job! Mini-ketosis would def make JUDDD much easier. Hope your transition goes well tomorrow! Lara-not only is RRARF fun to see, it's fun to do too! Hope you're doing well Berta-bummer you're stuck w/ a CD. Hopefully youll be able to move to JUDDD tomorrow! I just got my tush whooped in this barbell strength class! Shaking like a crazy woman, nearly fell Dow the stairs! Then swam w/ the kids. Fun day! Had some yummy froyo and now I'm off to shower. A good day thus far , |

Wow -- I needed to read that right now, because that is exactly what I've been doing today -- resting, and eating a lot. I scrapped fast portion of today, and opted for one more good refeeding day (low carb, but very high fat and high calorie).
My body was screaming at me to do that, and although I have been wrestling with it badly in my head, I decided to run with it -- I felt weak and depleted coming out of the p2, and just wasn't in any way ready to jump into JUDDD just yet. I feel like keeping my weight in control has become a huge battle, and psychologically I feel I am losing the fight right now. If it wouldn't put another ten pounds on me (literally, most likely!) I'd rest and refeed for a week or two -- but I think I'd regret it, so I will transition to JUDDD tomorrow, and try to rehabilitate that way -- I don't know about Matt Stone -- some of what he says doesn't sit well with me -- but I am going to go read about rrarf right now. I feel pretty off kilter from all the hcg rounds ... just no idea how to eat normally, at all -- and my body is out of kilter too -- retaining water like no one's business, putting on weight at lightning speed, and so forth. My energy is still not back to baseline after the end of the semester, and I am dragging myself through the tasks of each day -- doing them, but fighting some major fatigue along the way. That said, I do think I will finish today with no portion control whatsoever, and then reset my whole outlook tomorrow, with a low-carb down day. I'm just going to have to ride this out -- the hungry days, the weight fluctuations, the whole nine yards, until my body adjusts -- and I am not looking forward to that. Still, I really want to be free of the diet mindset, and I do not want to be yo-yoing up and down this same 15 or 20 lbs forever! |

I read over the Matt Stone thing... and although some of it makes sense, I am sticking this out low carb for now. I know my body likes low carb, and that I get a metabolic advantage from eating that way -- I've had enough years of experience doing that to know it works.
I do think there is something to be said for refeeding, scary as it is -- I know my body was horribly depleted after the end of the semester, as evidenced by the rapid weight gain and out of control swelling I experienced .... and that doing a p2 so close on the heels of it was not necessarily the right choice -- and I think that is coming back to bite me now, as I attempt to transition from the p2 to something else ... I really want to give JUDDD a fighting chance ... because intuitively it seems like a good plan to me -- so now, very well fed and on my way back to ketosis -- I am going to try this again. I will do my first low carb down day tomorrow, and do my best just to put this whole thing in perspective, and realize that these last three days of eating was probably for the greater good in the big picture! I do think I will stay off the scale for the first couple of weeks -- otherwise, I'll probably freak out and run right back to another p2, and make things infinitely worse for myself in the long run -- and that is the cycle I need to break free from! I'll go with the suggested JUDDD figures for the "induction" period -- 500 calorie down days, 1840 up days, and start my workouts (sanely, at first, and respecting my limits!) If y'all don't mind, I am going to keep posting to this thread, since a lot of you already know me, and can appreciate the struggle I am having to do this. If I really can't make this work, I'll do another hcg round -- but I don't think that is the right thing to do at all -- I think I need to heal my metabolism, and this seems like a good way to start. |

Good morning ladies!
Mini - I glad you scrapped the "fast" yesterday. I was going to post something about eating high-calorie on your UD instead of the fat fast which is pretty low calorie I think? but...time got away from me...and before I knew it, it was 9pm. Glad you decided on the high calorie. Good luck today! Well, I think I need to make up a song. It seems my regular visits from Bernice are a little off timing-wise and every morning I am sitting and waiting before weighing. "Waiting on Bernice...waiting on Berni-i-i-c-e! If only you would visit me s-o-o-o-o-n..." Sorry feeling silly today! I may do another cd today or I may not. I think my body is liking 144'ish which is fine. I think I will go workout and see what I feel like after that... |

Lara-I always love your posts!!
Well, I'm sure there are several potential culprits in yesterday's menu , but live your life GF!! You can correct today, or even keeping it lean and LC you'll be down tomorrow. ![]() Shelby- that's my dream goal weight!! You're doing great. Wish you had more regularity :O. Like the song though . My morning coffee is a guarantee!! I'd do a LC day rather than a CD, but that's just rebel me .Mini-Matt Stone is like most diet advice things, take what you like and leave the rest . That's what I do!! I like the idea of a faster healthier metabolism and although I'm not having ice cream for bfast, I'm doing the refeed thing nicely. There is some logic to that, and also to the idea of our bodies upping our metabolism to minimize weight gain. I'm experiencing that myself. It's hard mentally to allow the scale to climb, but I've been known to gain 10lbs loading, so I'm chalking this gain up to early loading. When I really "load" I suspect I'll stay around the weight I currently am, so hopefully it'll all come off in the end. Hope your body enjoys this little break and replenishes. I think your extended rounds of depletion plus your stressful, sleep deprived semester will make your recuperation a bit prolonged. Be patient with yourself. Although I know you're impatient to lose the weight and get on w. it, you may like to extend your refeed a bit longer. I've learned that our bodies take a while to trust us again. ![]() I'm continuing the refeed. I'm going to try to reign it in a bit , but no promises . I did get a good hard workout in yesterday!! And had dinner at 9pm . And dessert too (won't give you details, but cerainly not LC). I'm the same weight today, and 97.7 today's temp!! nice! I leave Friday morning for a beach party in Corona Del Mar in Ca. Looking forward to seeing all my old college friends. And my Aunt and Uncle also live nearby, so we'll see them too. And then on Sunday I'm going to see Les Miserables w. my old college roomie. Should be a great weekend!! |

Good idea. I will use this "meaty day" as a backup if I just cant bring myself to do this steak day today. or, if all goes to poo, I will call it a refeed day and lock myself in the house with a bucket of KFC.
I was banished from pms for being bad so if anyone really wants me just holla. lol. Makes me sad after 5 years of being on this site one booboo and im inthe doghouse forever? doesnt seem fair. I dont really pm that often anyway. |

YAY for being the same weight!!Your weekend sounds so fun! I hope you have a great time. --- So good news: my scale finally gave me the same reading multiple times today. Bad news: It was at 164.5 (how did that happen?!) so I'm doing a steak day today. The top of my window is 163. I've only had coffee w/ cream so far, will probably have another cup later. My first week of P3 was awesome, my weight hardly moved. Ever since the weekend, it's been all over the place and slowly rising for no apparent reason. I don't understand, but I probably won't anyway..ah, c'est la vie. We'll see how the official protocol steak day goes I went to Six Flags Great America yesterday with one of my good friends because she wanted to celebrate my new job. I must say that roller coasters are a pretty awesome way to celebrate I snuck my own food in so I ate chicken breast, HB eggs, and fruit while I was there and then had dinner at home. All clean fare. And today I am starting my first remote work day and eating steak for dinner! Haha.Hope everyone has a great day!! ![]() |
