I have so many questions!

I was reading pounds and inches last night, and I would like to pick y'alls brains a little bit.

It says in the book that on P3 you are not supposed to gain or lose more than 2 pounds. How many of you are losing in P3? It's so much like Atkins to me, that I think if you do it correctly and not go crazy (and lord knows I want to go crazy on some cheese), how could you not lose?

That's my main question for now.

In theory...I think you would lose...BUT in reality it's not so easy...majority of people struggle somewhat to keep from gaining the first 3 weeks...then you balance out somewhat. Hence, CD's are needed. I'm guessing it has to do with the body being deprived and doesn't know how to "handle" the extras being added. I may be wrong, tho. I lose well on strict low-carb w/o HCG, but I struggled coming off of P2 into P3...I had small gains daily until I did the Steak CD...then decided to hop back on P2 w/ a 13 day interruption. I was in the middle of my last few weeks of teaching...always super-hectic...and couldn't be worrying about what to eat & fluctuations/gains. I'm on D18 -11 lbs. (Down -41 lbs. total...so very happy...64 more to go!)

Maybe someone who has an answer will chime in.

You are supposed to eat enough so you don't lose - at least that's what I believe. You are training your new metabolism to maintain at higher calories. In P3 I could eat 2500 calories/day and stabilize. If you lose beyond 2 lbs. from your last dose weight you are supposed to eat more to get back within your window. If you gain, then you do a CD. Remember, the whole purpose of P2 is to rest your hypothalamus and in P3 to reset it. I personally would rather reset it being able to eat a higher number of calories without gaining.

I agree with Gracie. ALSO - you are to eat one or two fruits on P3, so it's not really like Atkins. You don't want to go super low carb on P3. Don't eat the super sweet ones or the starchy ones like bananas, mangos, pineapple, etc. You want to train your body that it's ok to EAT.

Ok.. I guess then I am going to finish this bottle of drops, which should be a bit more than the 23 days, and then jump in to P3 for awhile.. 3 weeks? And then go back to another P2 round? is that how it's done? (sorry, my book is at home).

It was my understanding that no sugars or starches in p3 means no fruit or breadsticks like we had in p2. Does anyone know where in Pounds & Inches does it say one or two fruits in p3? Please post the quote when you find it cuz I never ate any fruit in p3 except the low glycemic ones (berries) and that is like Atkins. So, when you say that it's not really like Atkins, I'm assuming that you are referring to other fruits.

NO starch, no sugar - not no fruit. No breadsticks, because that's starch. He said eat "normally" but no starch no sugar. Fruit is "normal" in my book. That's how I maintain and believe me, fruit is never my problem. It's usually dairy and/or nuts and SF frankenfood that get me. I do stick to lower glycemic fruit also, not the super sweet or starchy ones (bananas have a lot of starch, actually). My point about it not being like Atkins is earlier stages of Atkins means no fruit at all. If we are to maintain, then we would go to the maintenance part if you want to make that comparison. Atkins wasn't a "thing" back when Simeons had his clinic. All he said for the stabilization phase is eat normally but no starch no sugar. Fruit would not have been "sugar" according to him or he would've said no fruit.

There are no specific fruit quantities, but in P&I under "Plan of a Normal Course" (after he explains weight relapses) there is a line that says:

"For the following 3 weeks all foods are allowed except starch and sugar in any form (careful with very sweet fruit)."

This implies that you can eat fruit, but you shouldn't overdo fruit that is high in sugar. Most choose to avoid them entirely.

Yup, that's how I took it too. Just stay away from the real sugary fruits and bananas. Berries of any kind, apples, grapefruit - definitely don't cause me any problems. I think of those as natural occuring sugars - not like the processed sugary crap that is all over the stores today. Strawberries/blueberries with real whipped cream is a total P3 treat. Is pumpkin a fruit? I eat that all the time in P3.

Yup to all the above. I eat berries, apples and grapefruit on P3. And I have included pumpkin too. Love it with Fage Never had a problem with any of them in P3. Never had a banana or melba in P3 and won't even think to do so as they are too high in sugar/starch.

Ok, thank you. I'm excited about P3, but I'm even more excited about the next round. I've been hungry for this entire round because I didn't load properly. I've got big plans for my next loading days.

I'll be starting p3 on Saturday so I'm glad you ladies clarified the fruit thing for me. It's summertime and that's when all the awesome fruits are in season. I'm going to give some of them a try but I'm going to have to be very cautious..
