I am getting to the point though where I am getting sick of eating this way and I feel like I have an eternity to go. It is easier when I lose but the last few days have me discouraged. How do you keep the motivation up when you stall?

Tip # 6

Expect days of no loss, small loss and slight gains. This is a very normal part of this protocol. In the hundreds of journeys of other people that I have read, NOT ONE person experienced huge losses EVERYDAY while on protocol.

YOU will be NO different. It is NORMAL. DO NOT FREAK OUT!!!!! Stay true to protocol and you will clock good losses as soon as your body has either recovered from working so hard and shedding HUGE losses or your cells release the water with which your body fills up empty fat cells.

The cycle seems to be about every 7-10 days, your body will need a period of rest to reset and get ready to work hard again releasing unwanted fat and pounds and inches.

Once again, DO NOT FREAK OUT!!!!! It is normal. You are normal. The protocol is STILL working.

hang in there keep on up your water and it will come off

That is a great idea I never would have thought of that !!! I might be on P2 during my birthday next month and will have to keep this in mind for then.

Something else encouraging---when I made it to goal using the hcg, I did not have cellulite. It disappeared. So even when you don't see the scale move, there are fantastic, fabulous things happening inside your body. So relax and know that stuff you don't know about is going on. I see you have had a nice drop and that is encouraging too

no cellulite? That is amazing! This is very encouraging. I'm reading pounds and inches but most of it makes no sense to me. Can you tell me how long you went P2 on your first time?

I lost to my goal weight (which is in my stats to the left) in 3 rounds. All those rounds were short 21 day rounds. I did it with the homeopathic hcg. I have not even read all of Pounds and Inches. It bores me because of the words---I don't understand half of them I just go by the food list and the little bits that have been posted here and there on this forum. I was so thrilled to see that my cellulite had disappeared. I had none on my legs Of course I am sad that I have to do another round to get back down, but life happens and you live and learn I now have a plan for when I get to P4 to maintain the losses this time.

That is so encouraging. My first round will probably be just a bit longer than the 23 days. I'm going til the bottle runs out. The amazing things that I've already noticed are that in 13 pounds lost so quickly, I don't have that gaunt hollow eyed look so many people get when they lose weight quickly. usually my face is the first place to show it. And my chest hasn't shrunk at all either, which is usually the 2nd place to show a loss.

What I love about it is the fat seems to melt away. By that I mean that my fat peels away and the muscles underneath are revealed. My kids were quite impressed with my arms I knew I had muscles because I work out and love it. But my arms were so big with fat that you could barely see them. Once I lost that weight using the hcg, I looked amazing Cannot wait to get back there this summer.

Do you work out on P2? My job is physically demanding, so I know I've got some muscles in there, but... They too are buried. not for long though!

Nope. Just walking. I started out walking with my then 4 yr old--when you walk with him you more or less just stroll, no power walking for me That is all I can handle on P2, my energy just isn't there while on P2. However, when not on P2, I love doing The Firm workouts. Getting some weights in is so empowering. I love weight training!!! That is what is so great about the hcg---it reveals what is underneath the fat layer. AND it proved to me that you do NOT lose muscle when on it, much to everyone's saying so You know the naysayers about the hcg say "you will lose muscle because you are ONLY consuming 500 calories". NOT the case with me.

I'm going to join in. I did 3 rounds almost 2 years ago and lost 40lbs but then didn't stabilize well and went on a cruise and got out of control and gained it all back. I've been trying other WOEs for the past 9 months and haven't been able to lose anything. I did Atkins, Primal and then WW. I actually GAINED on WW. Anyway, apparently HCG is the only way that my body will release this weight.

I am on VLCD8. I am down 7.8lbs. I love this diet so much. I don't love the eating in P2 but I do love the results. I carry most of my weight in my midsection. I lose sooooo much in my belly. It was insane. I went from a tight size 18 with a terrible muffintop to a comfortable size 14, sometimes a size 12 with a fairly flat tummy. I can't wait to get down there again and then go even past that. My goal is to be a size 8 but I might keep going to a size 6 depending on how I look.

I do things a tiny bit rogue. I mix some veggies and eat a few veggies that aren't on the list like green beans and broccoli but not that often. I do not eat seafood and am allergic to citrus fruit so my meat and fruit selections are very limited. Oh and for the bread portion... I sometime will eat a grissini, sometimes I will eat a couple of saltines with chili and sometimes I will eat 2 cups of airpopped popcorn.

Here is my menu for today:

Apple at 10am
Taco salad (taco seasoned gr beef on a bed of lettuce with a bit of homemade salsa on top) for lunch
Grilled chicken breast with green beans for dinner (DH made it, thus the green beans... I usually have cucumbers or spring mix with my grilled chicken)

I will probably have a strawberry "sorbet" for a snack in a bit. Just some frozen strawberries with a few drops of french vanilla stevia and water, blended up. I then toss it in the freezer for about 20-30 minutes and eat it with a spoon. Yum.

Hi Gibby!
I don't have more information on that - I have just heard many times that kelp is very supportive to thyroid. I'm sure there is some info on line.

I wanted to post about a few more items:

STALLS:
DEB, you always post such helpful things! Thank you!!!
In addition to that, our bodies tend to stall at old set points; and stay there a few days on the way down.

CELLULITE:
Don't want to bash anyones dreams, but my cellulite did not go away, even when I was at goal weight and working out. Sorry. I have very thin Irish/English skin.

MUFFIN RECIPE:
WOW! THAT so rocks!!! I can't wait to try that!!

EXPECTATIONS:
In general, once you are 15 pounds or less to goal, you can expect AROUND .5 a day. I am older and insulin resistant, so I thought it would be reasonable to expect .3 per day. I did a LOT of walking to help burn calories. I walked whenever I could.

In the last 5 pounds, you can expect to spend 3 or even 4 days in the same pound range. Just so you know...they really drag out.

THE JUICING THING:
In the last two days, I have made a big pitcher of juice in the morning, and had a lean meat sauteed with tomatoes and spices for the evening meal. I TRIED not to oversalt it tonight. So we'll see what that brings.

So glad to have all of you here! Thank you!!

Gibby---I am not Red, but I will tell you my experience. I posted in the main lobby about my thyroid and adrenal issues. Fawn (who is what I refer to as an expert in nutrition as she has a degree) responded that I could use some kelp. She didn't tell me how much or when, but I have gotten a bottle (brand is Nature's Way) and I follow the directions on the bottle. Just 1 capsule per day. I am on meds for thyroid and Fawn still suggested I take the kelp. I do know that it is good for you I have just started to pick it back up after not having it for so long. The bottle got pushed to the back of the cabinet and I just forgot to take it. So I cannot comment on how it is working or not working and whatnot.

I will pick some up. I'm a senior and am insulin resistant as well. Not diabetic, but those issues run in the family and with my obesity, well....

I'm expecting good news on the scale tomorrow morning! Can't wait to weigh in.

Good night everyone!

@Brit M about boredom - just relax into it. Think of it as something you DON'T have to think about. The repetition does get boring but also eating sure takes a lot less time and planning! I can get very "zen" about the plan and just go with the flow with it. I tend to eat the same things several days in a row then switch it up a bit. It's nice to have a bit of variety, to be sure, but learn to eat for fuel's sake, not for the food's sake. Some of that though process may help you in the maintenance phase. I like good food but in order to keep it off I have to be diligent and I don't look at food anymore as entertainment. Just some thoughts.

I kept going even when I had stalls because I had no choice. I once had a 2 week stall. Yes, that's right - 2 weeks of perfectly on protocol eating and still the scale wouldn't move. Eventually it did. And yes, I whined some! We all do. I just had to set my mind toward my goal and keep that gps there. I couldn't lose weight any other weigh - er - way

I'm checking in on you lovely P2 ladies

Happy birthday to the geminis in the hooouuussse!! Y'all are brave to be on P2 on your bdays..the closest I've come is a Paleo Challenge during mine. Use it as an opportunity to find other ways to celebrate besides food - it can be a bit therapeutic!

I see that some of you are struggling with stalls, boredom, etc..I've been there! Try to appreciate the boringness of the food, kinda like what Lara said. When it comes to weight loss, simple is always your friend. Here is no different! And at least you don't have to think too hard about what you're gonna eat..haha.

There were days where I felt like I still had FOREVER to go and just wanted to be at the END (I did a 40 day round)!! But then I remembered I still had some weight I wanted off and I had promised myself that I'd give the round my absolute best shot. The thought of wasted time kept me from cheating. Keep your chins up and eyes on the prize! It'll be over soon enough (let's be real, that's part of the reason you chose the diet!) so breathe and let it happen, day by day. When you're done, you'll be so glad you stuck with it. I promise!

Hugs and best wishes to all of you

Great post! All true.

Desma: The pitcher of juice is about a quart and a half, all leafy greens, 4 carrots, and one apple, one lime, and a tiny bit of ginger. NOTHING like my normal juices. I must say, in comparison, it's a bit bland, but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

Morning weigh in: I'm still up from 2 days ago. Yesterday was 1.2 up from that, and today is .5 up from 2 days ago. I attribute this to two things. 1. There is food back in my system. Juicing references say that when you go back to eating solid food, you can expect to go up 2 pounds just because solid food has weight. Makes sense. 2. Last night was chicken breast and SALTED veggies. So, food and salt. Both are good for me, so I'm not going to stress. I'm focused on FAT loss, I LIKE having a good amount of water in my body. Scientifically, there is no possible way that the increase on the scale is blubber; in fact, quite the opposite since my calories are around 500.

BIG PICTURE, LOGICAL THINKING!!!

After 2 days with meat in the evening, I may be able to go back to juicing exclusively for a few days, we'll see. I have lots of social events this weekend, so I need to start planning and psyching up for that.

Hope this finds you all well and losing this morning!

Thanks for the encouragement...so true!!!

Good morning. Well, I had good news on the scale. It's VLCD4 and I've lost the 3 pounds I gained loading plus 1 so I'm a happy girl.

Here's what's on the menu:

B-coffee with sweetener
S-1/2 apple
L-3 oz chicken breast, cucumber, melba toast
S-1/2 apple
D-turkey burger lettuce wrap, melba toast
Desert - apple

Trying to get all of my water in - that seems to be the biggest challenge.

Gibby, that's great!!!!

Cocoa, that is so true. What a challenge, to find another way to celebrate. Going out to eat/drink is always the 1st thought that pops into my mind!

Red, I'm watching you on this juicing thing. Please keep us updated. My juicer is getting dusty!

Down 1.6 today. I am so excited!

Thanks Red!!!

So I'm thinking about making a lobster tail for my birthday on Monday and making the HCG cupcake. Does anyone thing that will set me back?
