When to transition from P2 to P3?

I'm on Day 21 of my first round of P2. I'd planned to do a 30-day round, but my daughter's fourth birthday is July 1, and I want to be able to celebrate with her.

Can I get away with doing less than three full weeks of P3, or do I need to go ahead and cut this round of P2 shorter than planned so that I hit P4 before her birthday? I'm not planning to go crazy, but she's asked to help make and decorate cupcakes for her birthday, and I know she's going to be VERY upset if Mommy refuses to eat one of the cupcakes she's made.

Do NOT cut short P3!! It is more important, maybe, than even the P2 part of the protocol. I would suggest cutting P2 short in order to enjoy your DD's birthday, if that is what you want to do. My first round I did, I hit my birthday on my very first day of P4. I had cake for breakfast!! Loved it--and I did well!! No gain for me. I had the carbs/sugar combo early enough in the day that it didn't effect my scale.

ETA: Your 4 yr old is making cupcakes???? Boy you sure started her early in the kitchen. My daughter is 11 and won't go near the oven LOL.

Thanks. I'm still losing well, so I hated to cut P2 short. But I'd far rather cut it short than risk re-gaining what I've lost.

As for the almost 4-year-old in the kitchen, she'd rather "help" cook than anything else ... even if her "help" makes everything take twice as long. Mommy handles the oven work, though. ;-)

I agree with Dawn. Also, you could consider making cupcakes without sugar or starch and then it wouldn't matter if you did them with P3 or P4! Yummy moist cakes are fairly easy with a mix of coconut and almond flour and with swerve or zsweet or a mix of decent sugar-free sweetners. Some of the ladies on here have some GREAT recipes. Just a thought.

Ah, I think I missed the word "help" in your first post  That is so cute that she wants to do this with you. Enjoy it now because they eventually grow up and don't want to be associated with you...says the mom of 4 kids whose eldest is 16. And yes, just as C'Marie said there are other options for a low carb treat on P3. I made cream cheese muffins when it was my niece's birthday and I was in P3. When everyone was chowing down on cupcakes I had 2 cream cheese muffins. I was fine with that because I knew that by having those I would not be up on the scale the very next day

Good luck in deciding what to do!!!
