Painful last 10 pounds
I finally decided to do my "last" round to lose my last 10 pounds. (Although I usually stabilize about 4 pounds over my LDW, so I'm not sure this will really be the last round.)
I am only on Day #3 of the VLCD and I'm already feeling very fatigued. I definitely have about 5 pounds of abnormal, cellulitic fat on the outsides of both my thighs, so I know I am not at goal weight at my present weight. I do feel that each round I have done, as I have gotten closer to goal, each round has been harder to do--my last round I started to feel exhaustion about a week into the VLCD and had to cut it short. I'm only on D#3 and I'm already feeling it. Anyone else here experience difficulty with their last 10 pounds? I'm also going to check in with the maintenance group, because probably a lot of people who finally did lose their last 10 have moved on. I'm just struggling already and I really want to lose these last few pounds already.

Sorry sweetie, but I have to ask, how do you 'know' you have the excess weight out there? Is it something that could better be taken care of through working out and skin brushing, if cellulite is the concern?
If you are doing a reshaping round and eating your extra protein and veggies to get to 800 calories, hang in there, but do be sure you actually have abnormal fat and it isn't just how you're built. Grown women are not naturally lean like a fashion model or hard bodied like a fitness model, either of those takes more than just diet to achieve (except for a very rare few who tend to naturally have very low body fat). Don't let yourself get sick over ten pounds, okay? I'm all for reshaping rounds but your body is trying to tell you something, it may be wise to listen. ![]()

I just don't think I can do this 500 calorie thing anymore. I think I'll take you up on the suggestion to increase the calories a bit and see if that helps me feel better. If that doesn't improve my fatigue, I may try the JUDDD method. It was so easy to lose weight in the beginning! Now it's starting to feel like a diet. |

I stopped at 135...my goal was 130...really 128 would have been awesome BUT I can't do it anymore. I am exhausted. I am wearing an 8P and sometimes 9P if it is low on the hips. I have wide hips, but nothing I can do about it. I have come to peace with my body. I think working out will help me a lot. I have a friend who did HCG (she is the one who got me motivated to do it) and has done pilates for about 7 months now and hasn't lost weight but has dropped a size, she is a size 4 now. My goal now is to maintain and tone. If it makes me go up in weight but down in inches, I am all for it. In order for me to be a size 6 I'd have to weigh about 118 or so and I am not even gonna go there. This last round was slow towards the end and even though I lost 15 pounds (I did RX shots) it took me 33 days to do it.
If I EVER decide to do this again, it will be to lose a few more but that's it. It's exhausting, mentally, and physically. I think that once you start reaching what your body considers "normal" it won't budge much and your body shows signs of fatigue right away. I really think working out and toning works wonders. That to me is reshaping, I don't agree with Simeon's reshaping theory either. I have a belly that won't go away, it can look flat if I want it too, but once I sit down, it's jelly belly LOL!!! Anyhow, maybe it's time to chill on the HCG and just concentrate on maintaining and toning up the body Also our bodies are so different....I know people my height who weigh the same or a bit more than me and wear a size 6, and I am ok with that because I LOOK like I wear a size 5 ![]()

I am sorry you are feeling this way. When I got to my goal weight using hcg, I never felt that way. I felt awesome on all my rounds, til I got to goal. I also lost easy. That is why I knew I was on the right track with losing down to 115, no matter what anyone else had to say. If it were only that way now LOL. I wish you the best and hope you get to feeling better real soon.

Yes, if you ladies are exhausted or miserable it may just not be worth it, or may be worth looking into something else. I have to tout TTap again to you because honestly that has given me more shape change than hCG, pound for pound, and can be done with any eating method. Focusing on reshaping through muscle building might be a refreshing change for you, and if nothing else it ramps up your lean mass and allows for more calorie consumption without fat depositing
Maybe even a plan like JUDDD or FastFive might work? HCG is hard on the body at the best of time (if we remember I ended up with shingles in my first round, due to the metabolic stress weakening my immune system and the virus flaring up again) and particularly if your reserves are low. I definitely get the goal pants thing, I have my own size fantasies when I get down toward the bottom of my range, but it isn't worth killing myself (figuratively) over, either. But if we're talking inches lost, including on my thighs, my TTap has done more for less work than anything else. Maybe diet isn't what will get you into those pants, you know? And if you're already doing an intense strength training routine, disregard this advice unless you want to switch things up. But taking a completely different health route might not be a bad idea, if the hCG is just taking it out of you. You don't have to be miserable and it isn't worth it for very little weight or inches lost ![]() |

I definitely have to start exercising again--I had stopped in the past couple of years when I realized I was suffering from post-exertional fatigue. I was in the middle of trying to discover the reason why when I stumbled upon hCG and just took off with it. So I'm going to work back into exercise slowly. I was just hoping to be at my goal weight when I started--this way if I couldn't exercise, it wouldn't be such a loss. I'm pretty much at peace with my pear shape--I just wanted to be able to get into all my 8P pants for the spring/summer. I know I cannot go below 120--one time, in my 20s I was 115 and I looked skeletoid (with fullish thighs!). I also took some potassium tonight. I can't believe I forgot about that. And I added in about 300 calories. I'll hang in there as long as I can and then look a little more closely at JUDDD. |
