few questions

Hey everyone, Just want to say I have been lurking around for a bit researching HCG. Took the plunge and had my loading days on the 5th and 6th. My question is now I am on day 4 of the VLCD "phase 2" and I have been having some annoying pain in my right leg. I have been following STRICT protocol, which is actually pretty easy, minus this damn leg pain. Are we allowed to take any aspirin or pain reliever at all? If so what can we take? and how much? I think I read something about being able to take aspirin for headaches but its vague on the kind/quantity we are allowed.

Also, is this anything to be alarmed about? It has been going on for a few days now (since Tuesday.) I would hate to have to stop the HCG as it's been working perfectly. 10.4 pounds lost so far. I could easily continue if it wasn't for this leg pain. If I had to describe it i would say it felt like the pain you have the next day after an intense workout, or a pinched nerve but I cannot think of anything that would have caused this in a timeframe of 6 days.

Any suggestions/comments/input is greatly appreciated.

I've taken Tylenol (Acetominophen) and Oxycodone (I have two buldging disks in my neck) with no ill effects. You might want to get it checked out leg pain can be so many different things but I have never heard of leg pain as a direct side effect to hcg.

OK, Thank you. I read a bit online about leg cramps being common on this diet and to take a potassium supplement, but I don't know how credible this information is and I don't believe those are allowed. I ordered some back on Tuesday when I first noticed the pain. I think I will try that tomorrow, if it does not fix the issue, I will go to my pcp.

Tonight I think I will have 2 plain bayer aspirin.

I found this old thread and just wanted to post it in case someone else experiences this same leg pain.

Leg pain? Help needed!

I ordered some ACV and Magnesium to see if it works out. Mousie never said what worked if anything for her husband, but I will give the suggested items a try. If any of these work, I will definitely post back to let others know. My clothes are starting to swim on me it's amazing, and I have never had so much energy in my life so hopefully one of these works out.

Yep! Same here. Last round I took plenty of potassium each day and had no leg pain. Advil is fine - just drink lots of water.

Just wanted to post back that after taking 2 Bayer I felt like I had NEW legs!!! lol. It did make me feel pretty hungry though, Haven't felt that hungry yet. It could have also been that I was up later then I normally am.

Pain is still gone. And I am down another 1.6 pounds from yesterday. 12.20 pounds off since Monday!!!!!!!!! It's amazing.

Glad your pain is better!! I am having leg pain myself. But I am seeing a chiropractor for it. Am not feeling any better and have been getting adjusted for several weeks now. But I know what leg pain is, have had sciatica before. I have also had leg cramping. Leg pain and leg cramping are totally different things!! My leg pain is a line of pain that I can pinpoint to where it hurts--it starts just below hip level and ends right about where my ankle is. And my lower back is very sore. For cramping, I take 8 OTC potassium pills a day while in P2. And then before bed, to prevent nighttime cramping I take 2 TBL of apple cider vinegar. I have bad leg cramps while in P2 and this regime of supplements take them away.

Do you take the shots for hcg or are you taking oral drops?

**Threadjack**

Dawn - have you checked your temps lately for your thyroid? Leg pain/sciatica for me is usually an indication that I've gone hypo...

Shelby--I am low, despite not feeling cold. I had my temp checked at the doctor's several times (have been a lot lately-I have serious issues right now!) and was low. I wonder why that would be? I had no idea it could be linked to thyroid. Because the last bout of sciatica was when I was in P2 also. Hmmm.

3 days maybe? I don't know, but only days. Back has been hurting weeks though! Remember I have been feeling warmer these past few weeks when I was sick.

Not long enough to be related.

Yeah. That is what I thought. My back has been hurting I think more because of work. My co-worker's back hurts when she does dishes too. I am starting to hate work. Or at least not look forward to it as much. I cringe when they ask me to do something, because I fear it may mean doing dishes.

Temps are the best indication of thyroid state. You should be in the 97.8-98.2 range first thing in the morning and be 98.6 at about 3pm. Your recent illness may have impacted temps as well. Being off Armour could be related if you are T3 dependent. Thyroid directly impacts inflammation so sciatica can get worse if T3 isn't getting where it needs to go. If you are on P2, you may also be low in iron (which can in turn impact thyroid levels). You could try some iron (bi)glycinate supplements. They may help bring your temp up and also help the inflammation.

Thanks Shelby. I still have the fluid in my ears--I can hear it and the ear popping is getting quite annoying. So I believe that indicates inflammation. I will just carry on and see how things go. My meds are almost done (finished with the Rx the doc gave me, and almost done with the OTC allergy ones she told me to use for a few days). Cannot wait!!!

I am actually taking the pellets from netrition. And I must say they work great. Bought 2 of them to keep one at work in case I forget them in the morning. The potassium and ACV I ordered should be here tomorrow. Luckily, the pain has been gone since I took the bayer a few days ago. I was away from the house for the weekend with no scale so I could not check my weight till I got back tonight. I know I am only supposed to check it in the morning but I was curious. down to 219! Have not been this low since high school (about 9 years ago.) Shooting for 185 as goal.
