Congratulations!!! Great job!! I hope your transition and stabilization go flawlessly!! WTG!!

Nice!! That does sound fun. I may give it a shot when I end my round. Thanks for keeping us informed

Julie -- I'm sorry that the whole eating to hunger thing got you up a couple of pounds. Who knows, maybe it's temporary or maybe it just didn't work out? I say do whatever you feel best doing if it works! I'm personally going to try eating to hunger when I get to P3/P4, but will also try to keep the number of times I eat to 2 or 3. More meals and less snacking optimizes the fat burning going on, imo.

Jeanette -- I wish I was 156 already!! Keep on rockin it! I'm proud of your decision to go the full round

--
As for me, I'm 169.4 today but DO need a BM or two.. Haven't gone in almost a week, jeez!! Ah, the joys of P2.. Then maybe I'll be closer to my first LIW, haha! Probably won't weigh again until after BMs or I'll just hold off until the official Saturday weigh in.

Traveled home this past weekend and miraculously stayed on plan, which makes me feel like I can stay on it through just about anything!

Happy dieting adventures to you all

I 100% stand by Shelby's post. I take coconut oil (not while on P2 though) every day and my triglycerides and cholesterol could not be any better. And the bigger picture is that my heart attack risk (forgot what they call that on the lab report) is way below 0.05 % . I am going to continue my coconut oil consumption---3 TBL a day!

Jeanette, so proud of you girl!!! You WILL get to the 140's!!!
What is your ultimate goal? So happy for you!

I'm at 143, ate blueberry almond flour pancakes, for some reason almond flour makes me gain, BUT I figure it's better than eating regular ones so it's ok. They taste AMAZING!!! I should try to mix in coconut flour, just not sure how to do that because I know I'd have to add in more eggs. Anyone have any insight on that? I love the idea of it because I made them on Sunday and froze little silver dollar ones (4 in each bag) for the week, they taste so good. If you want the recipe let me know…but yea I'd love to get a mix of coconut and almond flour going, that'd be awesome…

Hope you ladies all are doing well!!!! Hugs!!!

I dabbled in the hunger scale yeterday. I've been rethinking it a bit more and wanted to give it another shot. I'm not there yet I guess. I "ate to hunger" yesterday, not worrying about what I chose. And I'm up 2lbs and out of window!! . I will do a CD of some kind and will go back to my normal method today. Sigh. I was planning to add back exercise today but I'm afraid now!! . We'll see.

Have a great week ladies!!
Hi everyone, back from my weekend trip to conference in DC. Didn't get too much sleep and I ate a hard boiled egg and apple yesterday that wasn't in the plan for me. I have been pretty hungry the past couple days. I upped my dose to 150 IU this morning to see if that helps. I am very happy to announce I'm down to 168.2 and I broke the 170 barrier. I had weighed a day early. Per my coach I'll start weighing daily to see if I'm reacting to foods or not.

Julie, I forget what round you're on but the "eating to hunger" at least on P3 is only for foods that aren't leptin sensitive like sugars or starches. You may not have eaten them but I thought I'd say that. You probably already know.

thanks for the update and yes please keep us updated!

i was on hhcg for 39 days and wanted to continue but my mom came from out of town and made me so much yummy food for a week so i took an (un)planned interruption for the week she was here. i stopped hhcg and ate EVERYTHING. lol. i didn't even take the two days w/no hhcg and vlcd like i was supposed to.

i had every intention of continuing the vlcd while she was here but couldn't resist her cooking :P

so as soon as she left, i went straight back to vlcd and hhcg. i gained 5 pounds while she was here and just lost it all. (took a week). so i'm the same as i was two weeks ago which i'm okay with. i weigh 117.8 and its TOM. i am not sure what my goal is anymore. it was 120. then 115. now 110 or 105. the weightloss w/hhcg is so addicting!

Way to go Aerin! Congratulations and best of luck with P3
Thanks again for sharing. I am sure I will try this since at some point in P2 my body craves badly for fat and that reflects on my skin as well.

Have a wonderful week ladies!

hhcg-it's so ironic, isn't it!! When we're in P2 all we want is to go to P3 (me at least!!). And now we long for the structure and losses of P2. Hope you're having a good day and feeling in control of this P3!!

Thanks!! I'm in P4, and thought she recommends the hunger scale all the way through? I watched a video of hers where she's telling a patient to go have a foot long Subway. That's def P4, right? Either way. I'm not gonna' push that envelope. Maybe I'll go back to it eventually. But for now, I can't trust my hunger and instincts enough. I'm still recovering from that experiment and need to do what I know works best for me. Once I'm stable and solid I'll dabble again. And on breaking into the 160's!! I'm so happy for you and proud of how well you did while away!!

Wow!! That's tiny!!! How tall are you? Congrats on relosing so quickly!! Truly impressive!! I agree about the addictive losses, but for me the boredom and lack of enjoyment I have in P2 balances it out leading me to short rounds. Hope you stabilize well!!

I'm done w/ Cd's. They just arent' as effective for me these past 2 rounds. I'm gonna' just do clean P3 next time I need to correct (and we all know there will be a next time!!). I'm still out of window, dropped 1.6 from my steak day. 800 cals total yesterday and that's all I lost? Really? I have noticed that the past 2 rounds CDs were less effective. So, I'm rebelling against Simeon's protocol here and will just stick w. clean Atkins induction to correct. For today? I'm just eating clean P3. I'll stick with this, and override hunger (gasp!!) and see if lower cals will help me re-lose before my body becomes attatched to this new weight!!

And I'm going back to exercise, regardless of the scale. Dd (12) needs me to work out so she will work out. She's gained more weight and it's really urgent and important that she lose it NOW before it snowballs. She's up to 140lbs at 5'1", and wears the same clothing as me!!

Have a great week ladies (and Eddie).

Isn't that right!!!!!!!!! In P2 we want P3! and when we get to P3 and the scale starts acting up, we want go back to P2.....

I will definitely consider Aerin's option and see how it goes bcz that can help in staying motivated in P2. I need to lose the last 15lbs (including the gained back ) and call it done!

For this week I decided to do JUDD and see if that will help! Today is the down day (DD) with cabbage and a few strawberries (under 500ca for sure -may be around 350ca). Tomorrow will be up day (UD)with fatty meat, cheese and avocado. Will see how that goes...

Still in LDW hard for me to realize My 3 weeks are nearly up. I am thinking of going back to PH2 but will decide later. I have the 800 HCG book and it seems a bit better to stay with on PH2 than Dr.S plan.Dr.S. was written 50 years ago and the science and health issues have certainly changed since then. It says PH4 is for lifetime maintaining so I am going to try the PH2 &3 .I actaully did that last time though as I was only on PH4 for 2 weeks.

It will all workout in the end whatever we choose if we stick with it!!!

Hi Jeanette,
You've been doing amazing! I followed your progress since Spring and you are an inspiration! Actually, I was too scared to try anything new last weekend but I gained anyway! I replaced peanuts with almond nuts and they are as good but for some reason they make me feel bloated and roested peanuts do not do that to me . Oh well --I will not give up anyway! This weight has to come off one way or the other

i'm 5'1 1/2. so almost 5'2. i was 105 pounds before i had my youngest son 3 years ago. (i have a 12 & 13 yr old too- but was tiny after having them). but after having my youngest, i gained so much weight.

i tried the slow carb diet, the atkins induction, then learned about hhcg.

i started hhcg about 1 1/2 months ago and weighed 134 after loading. so i lost 18 pounds since then. doesn't sound much compared to what others lose in a month but i am very happy with it.

btw julie- i am from glendale arizona but now live in new jersey moved here 7 years ago for hubbies job

THANKS JULIE YOU ARE SUCH A WONDERFUL ENCOURAGER. I'm working with an HCG coach. She has me weighing daily so I can see how my body responds to different foods. I found my focus is off the weight and focused on being so thankful to not be eating crazy out of control!

Here is the Coconut Bread recipe and an Almond Flour
They taste good but are not like regualr bread. They are alot shorter only abought half as tall as a regular slice of bread. However I am thinking if you doubled the recipe then perhaps it would be taller but then I don't know if it would cook all the way through.Guess you would have to try it and see. DO NOT use Bob Red Mills flour for some reason that brand does not work well with these recipes? You get it online from many differetI purchased mine from HoneyvilleFarms.

Coconut Bread...
6 eggs
1/2c melted butter
2 TBS Honey or Agave ( I used Splenda)
1/2 tsp. sea salt
3/4c sifted coconut flour
1tsp baking powder

Blend together eggs butter honey & salt.Combine coconut flour with baking powder and sift into wet ingredients WHISK all together until there are no lumps.Pour into a greased (I used parchment paper)9x5x3 in loaf pan.Bake at 350F for 40min.Remove from pan and cool on rack.

Almond flour bread.... (I haven't tried this).
3/4 c creamy almond butter,at room temperature.
4 lg eggs
1/4c blanched almond flour
1/4c arrow root powder
1/2tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 TBS ground flax seed meal

Preheat oven 350F. Grease a 7x3in loaf pan with grapeseed oil( I would use Olive oil)and dust with almond flour.
In large bowl, mix the almond butter with a handheld mixer until smooth, then blend in the eggs.In a medium bowl, combine the almond flour, arrowroot powder, salt, baking soda, and flax meal. Blend the almond flour mixture into the the wet ingredients until throughly combined. Pour the batter into the loaf pan.
Bake for 40 -45 minutes on the bottom rack of oven, until a knife inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.Let the bread cool in the pan for 1 hour, then serve.

I made these today and had trouble staying out of them Ate three

Chocolate Chip Cookies
2 1/2c blanched almond flour
1/2tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2c grape seed oil(I used olive oil)
1/2c Agave Nectar
1 TBS vanilla extract
1/2c coarsely chopped dark chocolate(73% Cocoa) I use 80%

Preheat oven to 350F.Line 2 large abking hseets with parchment p[aper. In large bowl, combine the almond flour, salt and baking powder. In medium bowl,WHISK together the oil, agave nectar, and vanilla extract.Stir the wet ingredientsinto the almond flour mixture until throughly combined.Fold in the chocolate, then refrigerate the dough for 20 minutes.Spoon the dough 1 heaping tbs at at ie onto the prepared baking sheets,[ressing down with the palm of your hand to flatten, leaving 2 inches between each cookie.
Bake for 7-10 min. Let cookies cool on the baking sheets for 20 min, then serve warm.
It does not say how many it makes .I only used one cookie sheet and forgot to refrigerate it so I only ended up with 15 cookies. I probably should have had at least 24. Also there are no nutriton values for any of the recipes. Sorry.
P.S.... Make sure not to over cook them I nearly let mine burn. 10 min is maximum. I would probably do 8 min next time.

There ae even recipes for crackers and pies and casseroles I am so excited

They are Elana Amsterdam.... The Gluten Free Almond Flour Cookbook and Gluten Free Cupcakes by Elna Amsterdam.TheCooking with Coconut Flour Low Carb Gluten Free Alternative To Wheat by Bruce Fife,N.D.

You can purchase them online I bought mine at Amazon.

Oooh, watch out!! How old is your son? I have made low carb creations for my kids (I have a 16, 13 11, and 6 yr old) and the first question that comes out of their mouths...."is that low carb?" They know to ask first!! They do not like all my low carb bread options. I am trying to have my family go gluten free as well as I think it will be better for them overall and have all the books that Berta has. They will NOT touch any of those things!!! My DH says that my almond flour creations are dry. So you may have some tweaking to do. Just a caution. I love my coconut flour biscuits, and my almond flour muffins, but it may take the family a bit more time to adjust to the new way of cooking.

WOE: one day at a time!! LC!

Dawn!!

Berta-I hope those recipes go well for you. I've dabbled in those types of things in the past and don't do well w. them . I like the idea of them though!!

Jeanette- I'm hoping the whoosh fairy is on her way. You're staying so strong and so brave!!

I'm struggling. Not sure if it's still residual from the weekend, too many almonds yesterday or what? It seems my body isn't that keen on LCarb anymore . Used to work like a charm. But now, this past 2 rounds, CDs (which are basically really low carb low cal days) don't work, yesterday's low-carb day didn't budge the scale either. Today, I'm just going to relax a bit, have some fruit and higher "good" carbs and see what tomorrow brings. I just want to be down a bit more in the window and would like to add exercise once I'm down a bit. Sigh.

Julie! I was looking for you!

Just wanted to point you in the direction of a great blog post from Michael Eades (the Protein Power guy) about a new study out around calorie restriction and macronutrient content and the impact on AMPK. Kinda technical but very interesting and promising results. I think you might find it interesting...

I liked the bread as I said it wasn't like normal bread but I ate a ham sandwich with lettuce and mayo and it was so nice to be able to do that!!!
I ate three of the choc chip cookies and my DH loved them.
He siad the bread was OKBut when he says that he isn't that fond of somehting he isn't one to complain. Myself I like it.

As for my weight I am still in my window today did not hurt me at all.

I saw on Julians Bakery that they have Zero Carb bread and it is usable in the induction Phase of Atkins. So I don't know if it would be ok on HCG or not. It is expensive but comes in Cinnamo too,but it is like 7.00 a loaf! So I don't know if it would be worth it or not as there would be shipping also

The only way to know is to give it a try and see what your son says..I would just purchase a small bag for the first time.

Berta - Julian's is fine for P4 but not P3 or P2.

also, given that you are diabetic, you might want to google this pertaining to blood sugars...

I have a question about the alternate CD food list.
Under the fish/seafood and Split fish/Seafood Days it says to eat fish with asparagus.May use condiments and spices freely but no vegetabels ,fruit or dairy? And the same on the Split fish/seafood.

Thanks for the list there are more there than I knew. Last time I did hte egg on and lost 2 lbs bothtimes. The Steak only 1 lb. But I hoping and I won't have to this tiem.So far so good and I onlky have one more week of PH3.I like the idea of the Protein one as I am a carnevrous (spelling?)for sure!!!

Also what are your thoughts on the Zero Carb bread from Julians BakeryIt is allowed on the Induction Ph of Atkins so what do you think of PH2 & 3 on RX HCG?
