Good day all! I had to drive to Krystal to get internet (drinking a Diet Dr. Pepper), and I am trying my best to hang in there weigh wise (174.0 this morning)...

I'm so sad. My hubby's mom is in really bad shape. I totally appreciate my SIL because of taking care of her EVERY DAY. We are only here for 9 days, and they care for her the other 356. She's mean, and curses and even tries to hit you. It's so difficult to wipe someone's booty that's fighting you. While she's lost weight under my SIL's care, she is still very obese. She's always been a social recluse and a bit on the mean side, but now with NO FILTERS, it's pretty depressing.

I just had to get out of the house. My SIL and BIL are ANGELS for doing this day in and day out. Hubs and I cannot leave at the same time because she requires complete supervision. Yesterday she got into the Desitin and wiped it all over her face. I'm just glad she didn't eat it. Oh and the language is awful! She told my hubby (he's a minister mind you) that he cursed her out, which of course he's only been kind to her and he doesn't talk like that.

I miss all of you! My phone is not that smart so I prefer not to try to use it, except for facebook and reading emails.

Sending love and big, fat, juicy hugs!

I understand EXACTLY how you and your family feel. It sounds to me more like she may have Dementia. I took care of my mom for a year and when we brought her here to Missouri from Illinios we had no idea she had Dementia. We just knew she shouldn't live alone any longer she was 93. My sister lives in Tenn, and still works full time even though she is 3 yrs older than myself. But I am retired so we brought her here to live with us. But it did not take long living with her every day to know it wasn't really my mom any longer.
So she was diagnosed with Demenita. She would go to the bathroom in waste baskets and try cleaning it up herself and what a mess. She refused to let me bathe her or wash her hair. It really was quite frustrating. We argued alot over it and it was even getting to my husband. And he has the patience of JOB

She did try to hit me one day and got mad one evening and took off down the street and I had to call police so when they got here she told them she was sick so they called an ambulance took her to hospital we sat there ALL NIGHT long .The Dr ended up telling us that there was nothing wrong other than dementia and that I had to put her in a home where she could be taken care of. So I did. But she only lived six months after that. Her dementia was very fast and progressive.

But I know she is ok now and free from her pain and stress I was holding her hand when she passed from this life to the next! Right before she did her eyes were closed... then she opened them ve,ry very wide ... looked up... smiled took one last breath and went home I believe with all my heart she either saw Jesus or angels coming for her!!

Quick fly by!

This long weekend vacay was NOT my friend on the scale, oh dear. Before I left I was considering jumping back to P2 depending on how things went.. yeah.. I'm doing a chicken thigh CD today and see how tomorrow goes. If I see some big progress I might alternate CDs and clean days for a week to see how I am before I decide to P2.

Lots of stress right now on the emotional front so that's not helping either.

Hope everyone else is doing well!

Jeanette-so good to hear from you but major on your MIL!! Does she have dimentia? That sounds awful. I'm so sorry you guys have to endure that and even more sorry for your SIL and BIL. Such a shame!!

Berta-I'm sorry you had to go through that with your mom too!! Glad you were with her and the end was nice. Long suffering is never good .

Amy-hope your CD does wonders for you. I'm sure it'll go right back down!!

Adeline-our message yesterday was about dependence on God (in light of Independence Day). Great reminder!! And Sunday school was about praying more, all excellent reminders and inspiring!

I'm on VLCD5 today and plugging away. Down most of my load weight, and now working on that recent gain from my metabollic reset. At siggy weight, but want to get back down to 148 (LDW from last round) and maybe even 145 (would love the wiggle room in maintenance). We'll see. My in-laws come for a visit Aug 3, and I would like to be in P3 by then. That's enough for a 28day round, which is the longest I've ever made it. If I'm still losing I'll go past day 21. I'm not really minding this round too much (yet ). I guess as long as that scale keeps going down I don't mind .

Have a good week Ladies!!

Thank you but it's ok. I was happy to do it. but it did really get stressful.I reallly miss her though... as before she got really bad we would sit out on the screened in porch together and she loved watching the birds. And we had a groundhog that lived under neath our storage shed and she would throw food to him just to get him (or her) to come out. But the ground hog died this past April as we haven't seen him since

I am on P3D5 and stabilizing quite well. After eating a little over 1800 cals yeaterday I am the same weight as my LDW. Yay!!!

I went on a shopping spree the other day to reward myself and nearly everything I tried on fit! I got 12 new tops, 4 pairs of capris and 2 pair of shorts and they all look cute! It used to be that I'd try on a dozen tops and only 1 would look good. Fun! Fun! Fun! I actually like shopping now.

OMG! I should NOT have made Cauli-tots! I made that variation for me because I was making tator tots for my family and it sounded & smelled sooo good!

Well, they were too yummy! I am embarrassed to say I ate the whole head of cauliflower.
I had never made them before so I "had" to try different variations and OMG they were so good I couldn't stop. When I added up the calories I about died! Looks like tomorrow
may be a steak day! Sigh.....

I think I need to go back to my boring bland P3 food I was doing so much better on.

CaTriGirl, you may be just fine regardless of a whole head of cauliflower
Hold tight as you ready that steak anyway.....

I am trying to be really good on my JUDDD down day today, as vacation is starting Saturday and I really want to stay close to my numbers now but I am hungry and in fact my tummy is upset. I went to Jamba Juice and had a double shot of wheatgrass (which I love) BUT then I went to that World Market place and got some of those cactus chips and tried a few of them - well, they're low carb, but they do have some flour on them, and the spice was too much after the wheatgrass (which I should have known better - you should only have wheatgrass on an empty stomach). So here I am now, waiting to feel better to eat but I'm hungry. *whine* I had 1/4 tsp baking soda in a glass of water in lieu of an alka seltzer and it is feeling better. Now I can't figure out what to eat since I feel icky still nothing sounds good at all but tummy is rumbling.

Berta, when is your interrupt and trip again? Are you going somewhere fun?

Julie, glad to see you've got a great start on it!

Dawn, you shooting for your usual 15 pounds or something more? Seems you don't have much left to lose at all!

MissLatte, yummy yummy chicken thigh day! My brother bought me some but then I left before he cooked them for me

Adeline, I'm glad you're taking care of YOU and I'm glad you had a good time in Israel. I did injections. Shoot me a pm if you have questions or email me at awesomeaught10 with a yahooooooo

Jeanette, glad you're able to check in and hope your stress is better soon.

PreKTeach, I know how you feel about pictures! Really really. But a few years ago I decided I was gonna end up with NONE because I wouldn't let anyone take them. So, fat as I was, I would let myself be photographed. I didn't want to be left out of the family memories. Now I like having my picture taken! LOL

Sunday was my day 23 and LDD. So I am now doing a three day VLC and Thurs begins my PH3 or interuption. Which is what I am thinking and then going back to PH2 on the 20th.This round was terrible I cheated nearly everyday and wasn't even hungry. Why did I do that? I only lost 7 lbs. I lost 20 my first round and I am still at just a tad over 20

But at this point in time I really don't know what I am going to do.

We are going to Wichita KS to see DH sister and celebrate her birthday on the 18th.She finished Chemo and we only see her once a year so we are looking forward to it. She is such a nice lady and we love her alot.We have alot of fun together!

How is JUDDD going for you? I am considering it on PH3 along with Low carb.

Berta- only a few days until P3 for you! Enjoy my friend!

I got a good workout in and wasn't very hungry afterwards. I did about a half serving of P2 chilli over lettuce. Not being hungry is great!! I hope it lasts

What a great Idea eating the PH2 chili over lettuce I am counting this as an interuption and returning to PH2 on the 20th. I have reallymessed this short round up by not sticking with protocol.Don't ask me why as I have no idea myself I have had zero hunger the entire 23 days! Right now for the first time my tummy is growling but it is time for bed so in the morning I will eat a good on plan lunch! Maybe the PH2 chili on lettuce Thanks for the idea

Hope your tummy settles down soon

No, I have a lot left to lose!!!! I started this round early so I can do more than my standard 21 day round to lose more weight. I have lost 10 lbs and have been holding there for 5 days, so today is my apple day to get things going again. I still have 14 lbs to lose to get to goal and I have to stop on the 27th because my vacation starts on the 28th. I am feeling as if I won't make goal by then based on how this round has been going to I am going to settle on getting down to 120. We shall see what my body decides it wants to do

How do you make cali tots? I like cauliflower BUT not sure I could eat a whole head of it

We shall see what my body decides it wants to do
I hope your apple day gets you losing again! I love apples but have never done an apple day. In fact, I'm having mine right now for bfast . Also, don't forget you dropped 5 lbs on JUDDD right begore this round. That may lower your total losses.

My clothes took a little while to catch up w/ the scale. Maybe if you CD your way back down fast enough you'll be just fine. You're off to a good start! That's how quickly and easily I gain too (vaca kills me!)

Berta-enjoy your break. Maybe after a little while on P3 and relaxing you'll be ready (mentally) for P2 again. Many say it's tough to come back to P2 after an interruption. You're strong and committed though. You can do it. Social engagements always kill me!! I try to plan my rounds around socializing. It's unavoidable (have a "dessert and game" night this Sat., and then next weekend a wedding reception). But I will still try to stick to plan. I'm in the zone though, which is helpful. I've done rounds where I wasn't fully committed and it was nearly exhausting "talking" myself into sacrifice. Reduced hunger helps a lot though!
Oh, and P2 chili over lettuce reminds me of taco salad and is quite filling. I often feel like I didn't measure my food properly b/c it seems so big!! Nice bonus on P2.

VLCD6 today and I'm down another lb overnight!! Even with a workout! Still feeling good. I'm glad I can still workout a bit and it not kill the scale. I did weights too . Took dh and dd(12) to workout too. I'd really like it to be a habit for all of us, esp. dd. If she can grow up always knowing about healthy eating and exercise as being "normal" I really hope it'll just be a natural part of her life. I was always obese and mostly sedentary. I didn't want to try new things (rollerblading, surfing, etc) and would prefer a movie and dinner. I'd like our family to get active and stay that way. A hiking or camping vacation is normal for us. Our girls are up for crazy hikes (like The Narrows in Zion Nat'l Park this May-hiking in the freezing Virgin River). I hope we can all stay active. I'm loving it!

Have a great day ladies. One day at a time.

But I gained it back loading Talk about yo-yo. I am the classic case of yo-yo dieting. I already feel better. I have had my 2 cups of coffee and 2 32 oz water in before noon so I am ready for my apples--they are on the counter. Yup, all 6 of them! When my rings get looser today I will know if it is working or not.

You too!! Have a great day!!

All this talk about interruptions... I am wondering about something. On a PI, the plan is always to eat P3 cleanly--no sugars, no starches. Does anyone have any thoughts on what the best course would be if you "cheat" on your PI and eat sugars or starches? Would it be better to call it a round and do a full P3 and a full P4 at that point or is going back to P2 after a PI "cheat" ok and can you be successful?

I'd do a few CD's first, heavy fat, the do P2 again. But that'd be if I was mentally prepared for it. If I wasn't really fully committed to no cheating for the P2 part, transitioning to P3 would be better. JMHO.

Yeah that's what I thought! LOL These were definitely more tasty fat than cauliflower! I'm going to make them adjusting the recipe so they don't have so many calories, but the recipe I used is as follows.

1 lbs of cauliflower (I just used a head)
4 TB of butter - room temp
2 egg yolks
1 cup of grated Parmesan cheese

Preheat over to 400 degrees. Steam cauliflower for 10 -15 min until very tender (remove excess water so the cauliflower hold together better)
It says to put rest of ingredients in a food processor and place mixture in a piping bag fitted with a a large plain tip or a plastic zip lock bag with the corner snipped off. I wanted the texture of tator tots, so I just mashed them with a fork and added all the ingredients together. Then spooned them on a cookie sheet and baked for 15-20 minutes.
The ones that came out the best are the ones that I put in a muffin tin. I put just enough to cover the bottom of the muffin tin. They were very crunchy and tasted just like tots! MMMMMmmmmm.

I also seasoned mine with Tony Chacheree's and garlic salt before baking.

Oh, and I was up on the scale 2 lbs today. YIKES!! So no correction day, (whew, that was close!) but eating VERY clean the next few days to get back down!

OMG AMY!!!!!!! Let's hope it was stress related?

No bueno...sending some good vibes your way babe... are you known for retaining water?

I literally stuffed my face full of carbs in Nola and only gained 5 pounds...but then again I know everyone is different and I can tolerate moderate carbs...but 14 while eating P3...hmmm...

Salt? Maybe the sodium in the tuna? I hope you get back down quick, are your clothes fitting tighter? Maybe it's not real weigh gain just water? Have you had this happen before?

Thanks bunches
Sounds very yummy I will try them on pH3 or 4.Are you on PH3? I ask becasue the ingerddients are all on PH3. I wonder why you gained with them? Are there quantities on those things in PH3&4. I wish DR.S would have been more specific in that area

Also why would they not taste like tots.... if you squeezed then from a bag?
