I don't drink alcohol of any sort but I found these for you .I don't know if you drink alcohol or not but here they are anyway.

Low carb summer cocktails

Low carb basil mojito

Serve 1

A fresh twist on the classic minty mojito, this low carb cocktail boasts a bold basil flavor at only 2 grams of carbs per serving.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup sucralose (Splenda)
1/2 water
3 fresh basil leaves
1 quarter of an orange
2-1/2 ounces rum
Splash of soda
1 thin slice of orange for garnish

Directions:
1. To make a sweet simple syrup, combine sucralose and water in a small saucepan over medium-high heat, stirring to combine. Stir occasionally until sucralose dissolves into water, begins to simmer, and mixture thickens. Remove from heat. Once cool, store in an airtight container.

2. In a glass, muddle basil leaves with a wooden spoon. Add 1 tablespoon of simple syrup and continue to mash basil. Squeeze in orange juice.

3. Add rum to glass and stir. Add ice and a splash of soda. Serve garnished with an orange slice.

Blended strawberry margarita

Serves 1

Especially delicious following a Tex-Mex meal hot off the grill, frosty strawberry margaritas are the ultimate summer drink. Featuring ripe strawberries and a squeeze of lime, this cool cocktail comes in at 4 grams net carbs.

Ingredients:
Salt
4 strawberries, hulled, quartered
Juice of 1/2 lime
1-1/2 ounces tequila
2 teaspoons sugar substitute
Crushed ice

Directions:
1. Dip the rim of a margarita glass in water then salt and set aside.

2. Blend remaining ingredients in a blender or food processor. Pour into glass and serve.

Low carb ginger cosmo

Serves 1

An elegant summer cocktail with a gingery kick and only 2 grams of carbs per serving, this low carb cosmo will help make your low carb diet resolutions stick.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup sucralose (Splenda)
1/2 cup water
2 thin slices peeled fresh ginger
1-1/2 ounces vodka
2 ounces diet cranberry juice drink
Squeeze of lime
Slice of lime for garnish

Directions:
1. In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, stir together sucralose and water. Add ginger and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 minutes. Remove ginger and store ginger infused syrup in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

2. In a cocktail shaker, combine 1 tablespoon ginger syrup, vodka, cranberry juice, and lime juice. Shake vigorously with ice. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with lime slice.

Do a web search there a ton of them.Low carb summer drinks!

I make lemonade out of water, lemon juice, and stevia all the time, it's amazing - I've been addicted to it since P2

I use the juice of one lemon, about 6 or 8 frozen strawberries, some stevia to taste and put it in my ninja blender individual shaker cup attachment, I may add a bit of water depending if I want a slushy or more of a drink and even my hubby loves it! My mouth is watering.

I hope everyone has a great day! Yay for Wednesday...the week is half over! I have so much to do this weekend!!

Those drinks all sound so good! And, if my memory serves me correctly Divaherself is the QUEEN of Mojitos! Her recipe may be floating around here somewhere!

VLCD1 today - apple, chicken&celery, apple, tilapia&cucumber

Everybody please send me happy thoughts.

I'll be back later for personals I miss ya'll! BF, snowboarding crew and I went to the Great Sand Dunes this weekend to go sandboarding.. maybe the extra exercise contributed to the gain? And who's flipping great idea was it to HIKE up a dang SAND DUNE!?! holy buckets that was a workout. Don't get me wrong though, it was tons of fun.
Big hugs, because I can't imagine that! What in the world? Is your scale messed up, seriously? Maybe Theresa can chime in because she's had stuff happen to her like that. Lots of love!

Adeline, hang in there! Berta, you're so sweet! Hello Tiffany and Angela! thanks for sharing Julie (I hope I don't have a gain tomorrow). Sunny, I saw one with fresh peaches that looked really delicious. I know you can make the most delicious water if you set up a cold pitcher of water with half a lemon and half a cucumber (sliced). It's the most delicious, crisp water ever!

Cocoapeanut, that sounds yum to the o!

Aerin - you're so close! I can see it happening for you!

Hugs C'Marie and Theresa!

I didn't weigh this morning. I know that's a shocker! Well, yesterday was an UD and I woke up later. My hip and leg are sooooooooo much better. I saw the doc today and he said he thinks it's the exercise I just started (knee lifts). He gave me some special exercises to do to heal my back. I hope the steroids don't mess with my WL, but I will plow through, it's worth it to be able to walk again soon. My limp is definitely better.

Here's hoping the scale is kind to all! Big hugs!

Good morning. Weigh in at 168.5 the first time, and 169.5 the second time (why do I do that to myself?) Since I have a habit of always taking the first weight, I will take it! I am still 1.5 from my pre-vacation weight. Just to be in the 160's is very good for me.

Hope the scale is kind to all of you! Hugs!

Mornin everyone! I dropped my load weight now on to the weekend camping weight.. grr..If I start this high I might not make my goal..so frustrating. I really hope I can drop these extra pounds so I can blow right past 155 (which what the plan WAS..)

I want to go two full weeks then think about possibly doing a fat fast, depending on how I'm doing. I'll try a tuna/mayo FF, ends up being 1000 Cals, 75% fat. My only concern would be the sodium. Wait!! I just looked - 1000 cals, 88 fat, 0 carb, 65 protein 1400 sodium. Previously I did a hwc/gy/random stuff FF and I was super hungry. Maybe this one would work better. Not yet though - just for week 3 perhaps.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Amy!!!! You bad azzzzz!!! Friggin Amazeballs! I tell ya we are some strong women up in here!!! (((HUGS)))

So made steel cut oatmeal, omg omg omg....I don't know if any oh y'all can have grains but if you want the recipe just ask. I made it using coconut milk and almond and half/half....it's like creamy nutty paradise

I'm at 137.8...no visit from Bernice (which is odd) but I'm sure in a few the grains will do their job lol...so I know my weight is lower.

Anyhow, hitting the elliptical and weights today! Tomorrow is a beach day and girls night out so I'll have to work out before heading out. We are going to a Cuban restaurant so I will be stuffing my face with some churrasco and avocado salad...and dessert a café con leche

Off I go, laundry, chihuahua bubble bath time (they are three so it's a workout even though they don't mind) then sweeping and vacuuming...gotta love dog hair...my two Long haired boys shed so much! My little girl is practically nekked lol

Ttfn

Morning everyone!

My second day of fat fasting netted me another -1.2 loss.

Back to P2 today, but I feel like I got a nice little break from the monotony AND lost 3 lbs in 2 days. I weighed in at 161 even today. I'm hoping it's bit lower since Bernice hasn't been around in a couple of days. I really want to get below 160 by the end of the week so I can start working my way down to 155!! The weight loss always slows down so much the farther into the round I get. I'm just for NO STALL this time. Last round was miserable with gains and stalls for most of the last 2 weeks!

Congratulations to everyone who lost today!

Sunny, your oats sound fantastic! Yum! Can't wait for P3 and some added variety!! 2 weeks left!

Jeannette, glad to hear you're doing better!

Misslatte, yay for you! You've totally got this!

C'Marie, it's always soooo much easier to follow P2 protocol from home! I feel like I live in a box the entire time I'm in P2 since I don't dare go anywhere and get pulled off protocol!

Okay so I want to finish last minute things before we leave for the airport tomorrow. We had wills drawn--so we have to go sign them. I pray the lawyer isn't long winded. He likes to tell stores and I don't have time right now. I need to rearrange the baggage and make sure the checked ones dont' weigh more than 50 lb and the carry ons no more than 25 lbs. I may take less clothes. I feel like blimp right now cause I've been eating bad lately. I keep telling myself back on hcg when I get home and recover. Now hubby wants to see the pyramids and climb Mt. Sinai and that wasn't even in the original plans, and son is all game. OY! I'm kind of dreading the long flight with a layover. I'm thankful to be going it's a gift and a dream my son's deceased father would have wanted him to realize. I'll try to check in if I have WIFI in places I'm visiting. We're taking the laptop so husband can put payroll in for his business. I am so thankful for all of your support and kindness ladies! Having this support group makes all the differece

OMG Adeline I'm so glad for you! Just please remember to sleep and get enough water in. Those two things will be huge. Then just take bites of what you need to keep going and don't stress. No good to stress! Have an awesome awesome time!!!!!

Are you going to the wailing wall where people put prayers in? If so, will you write this name down and tuck it in: Rhonda. Thanks - if not, I know God hears anyway and have a great time!

Fat Fast

Roberta:

This thread is very informative and will tell you what a fat fast is and how to do it. Ive used them several times and found that they work well for me. There are lots of examples of sample menus too.

Where is everyone today??

Morning!

It's awfully quiet in here today... Where did everyone go??

Weighed in at 160.6 today, so down another -.4. It's movement in the right direction, but it's so hard to remember that when you get used to seeing the huge drops during the first couple of weeks! Come on 150's!!

For some reason the carb cravings have kicked in the last couple of days. It's been all I could do not to eat the entire package of Grissini or Melba in the evenings! I like them, but they're definitely not worth all that! I know it's just my brain screaming CARBS at me. Today, I wanted a croissant in the worst way. YUM! I'm practically drooling on my keyboard just thinking about it!

Oh well...some day! Too much of that kind of thing is what got me into this position to begin with. I LOVE my carbs (and my weight was direct reflection of that!)!

Hope everything is going well for everyone today and the scale was kind. Have a WONDERFUL Friday!

Hello Aerin
My worst food item is meat and taters. I have a really hard time getting my veggies in I really don't know why.I like them .I guess I am just getting to where I dont like to cook anymore.I use to love cooking and baking.

I am trying to figure out why I keep gaining everyday unless I do a CD day. I was up another lb today So I am having to do another egg CD

I am so ready for PH2.But then I will be ready for PH3 when I am on PH2

Ihope you have a great day and leave those melbas and things alone.YOU CAN DO IT!!

I know what you mean! I've actually been cycling from P3 right back into P2 for my last couple of rounds. I don't like the restrictions of P2, but then again it makes things sooooo much easier! And I seeing the scale go down every day. When I'm on P2, I want to be on P3 and vice versa....there's just no making me happy until I get to goal. Then I'll probably lower my goal!

Sunny - can I have your oatmeal recipe? I'll save it for P4. How was your weigh in today? Hope you have fun at the beach!

Aerin - nice job on the fat fast! I'm shooting for 155 too.

Adeline - have FUN on the trip!!!

Berta - Can you post your menu for the last few days? Maybe we can figure out what the culprit might be.

C'Marie, Julie, Natasha, Jeanette, Cocoa - Helllooo!

Theresa - where you at?! How's packing going? (or lack of? )

VLCD3 today - progress! I can't wait for today to be over so I can see what progress I have tomorrow! Dropped all of the loading weight and most of camping gain too. yargh! I can't keep thinking 'oh I wish I was at LDW when I started,' blah blah.. I can't do anything about that now but I can hope for the best! If I keep up with my 'average' loss per day over a couple past rounds I should end up near the mid 150s.. send me happy thoughts!
