Those doing multiple rounds

I'm curious if anyone that has a lot of weight to lose has ever lost weight between rounds?

I realize Dr Simeon said not to go more than 2lbs under LDW, but when you have multiple rounds to do, stabilization seems less important.

I'm thinking of doing the 3 weeks of P3, then maybe try JUDD or something to lose some more until time to start my next round.

Anyone lose weight between rounds?

Thanks, Cindy T

This is exactly what I was just about to post. I want to lose more weight this summer, but not be on such a strict diet. I've been thinking about doing JUDDD all summer, to lose more. Anyone have an opinion?

Once you are in P4 it is maintenance, either for a few weeks or life. After achieving a new stabilized set point for a few weeks in P3 (and really, you MUST be weight stable in your window, with no corrections, for at least two or three weeks to really lock it in.) there's no reason you can't try to lose in between rounds with another method. But remember that the time between rounds is both to forestall immunity and rebuild your protein stores a bit. So dieting by a method that doesn't spare those specifically could make for a slower or rougher P2 the next time you go into it.

These are things to weigh out individually. I am losing more right now, once I am back in my window (just .2 to go, woohoo!) I will continue with my current method until I am at the bottom of my window or even a little lower, but that is because it is likely I am pregnant and cannot do either my current method or hCG for weight control once that is verified, so getting weight off makes sense given that I likely won't be able to do another round for two years. And if we didn't conceive this month and I get to do another round then I am right in the correct range for beginning again.

If there wasn't the baby possiblity I'd be enjoying P4 as a break period and not be seeking to lose beyond my window, I don't think that is wise for me mentally or physically to not have a non-diet period where I am just coasting. That would make me more inclined to cheat in the next round. But not everyone is like that. I tend to take Simeons at his word and do both the VLCD and stabilization/maintenance periods to the letter. It is only an unusual situation I find myself in regarding timing of correction and such that has caused me to seek a method of losing during this break.

Your mileage may vary :)

I'm a fan of doing everything by the letter - and when I haven't, I suffer. Since Dr. S. doesn't specifically mention NOT losing weight in P4, I suppose it works for some people ok. However, I do believe it may make the next P2 less effective.

What's better or more effective over the long term? creeping down the scale at less than 2 pounds a week on a "regular" diet in P4 and making the next P2 less dramatic, and not really getting a diet break; or doing P4, staying stable, and then zooming down the scale on the next P2, having a nice break in between? I wonder - I'm not being a smartie - really. I think of those that "cycle" and wonder which is better, mentally and physically. Seems to me the losses overall average around the same AND with what we know about fat storage distribution and how it's lost, IF you believe Dr. S. you may be losing from less-than-optimal storage areas when you "regularly" diet as opposed to using hcg. For me, then the fat loss then doesn't seem to distribute the way I like. But that may be just me. We are all unique.

You mean you don't want fat thighs and an emaciated face, C'Marie? Shocking! ;)

I have wondered about this also. I have lost 38 pounds so far (30 from HHCG)...the loss is sooo apparent up on top where I don't need to lose as much. I have lost HUGE amounts of weight on & off...unfortunately, my stomach is BIG...lots & lots of excess fat/skin, along with large fatty hips & thighs(our family is very hippy...even the thin ones!). My bottom half has definately lost, but not like I do on other programs. Does anyone have suggestions on what may help? I understand that HHCG attacks the abnormal fat...so I'm assuming my stomach/hips/thighs are NOT abnormal fat!!! I really look out of proportion now...little on top...big on bottom...kinda funny looking:stars:

Angela, read the part in Pounds and Inches where Dr. S talks about "the emaciated lady" because at the end, you may want to do a "re-shaping" round, where you have more calories, don't really lose anymore real weight, but the fat moves. I think so many of us have screwed up our systems to the point that belly fat, hips, thighs, are just more stubborn, maybe more so than in Dr. S's day. After all, if you go through my past threads, you can tell I've been on many MANY diets, up and down that scale. It's like that particular fat is now locked in a CD/vault instead of just a checking acct :)

TY C'Marie!

Now I do recall reading that...I will definately think about it. Eventually, I will be having some surgeries...I had checked into it when I was in the 170's. Total Body Lift, Thigh Lift, Breast Augmentation (cause they're not where they belong anymore...lol), and Underarm Augmentation.
