P3 breakfast ideas...

I find breakfast to be very boring. I am not a huge fan of eggs and bacon (or other meats) I believe protein in the morning is important, but I would much prefer carbs... So I am looking for some good P3-4 ideas for breakfast.

Thanks...

protein shakes, low carb pancakes (made with coconut flour, almond meal or flax meal or a combination of the three), cream cheese muffins (the recipe is over in the fat fast thread I think), ricotta cheese pancakes (do a google search for it.. I think I found it online somewhere, or it might be over in the phase 3 phase 4 thread), full fat greek yogurt (Fage total has more protein than Greek God's), leftovers from dinner (pork steak, beef steak, fish, etc.), I love me a good hamburger with a fried egg on top.. yummy!

You are very welcome! One of these day's I'll spend time browsing over in the recipe thread and see if the there are LC pancakes, muffins, etc over there. You know, I bet if you go to the Atkins section of this forum and look at their recipes you'd find many high protein/low carb muffins and stuff like pancakes, etc.

LC pancakes are SUPER yummy with sliced strawberries & HWC. Or if you like raspberries, black berries, or blue berries, heat them until the juices release, add a little stevia or sweetener of your choice and you'll have a hot fruit "syrup" to put on your pancakes. Top with whipped HWC for more yumminess and good fats!

Shirley is full of good ideas! I've never tried the hot fruit syrup before... great thought! I also love a good burger with a fried egg on top - though I sometimes do that for other meals, not just breakfast.

I just recently discovered the wonder of coconut flour. I used it to make pancakes and muffins that my whole family actually likes. I actually just took a batch of muffins out of the other just a moment ago!

Also, if you like shakes, I found that I love freezing some berries or some pumpkin cubes (in ice cube trays), and I blend either or those up with some cream, vanilla extract, raw eggs, and sweet n low or stevia. (With the pumpkin shakes, I also add pumpkin pie spice.)

I've also made cinnamon rolls out of oopsie batter. Instead of making oopsie rolls, I add sweetener and vanilla and spread it over a jelly roll pan to bake (cover pan with non-stick foil). When it's done, I let it cool, then add a layer of butter then some cinnamon and sweet n low over the whole thing. Roll it up and slice it into little cinnamon rolls.

Non-low-carbers probably don't understand, but you could actually sit down with a strawberry shake and a muffin or cinnamon roll for breakfast! How's that for satisfying carb cravings?

Coconut flour pancakes are heavenly!! Almond flour and flax seeds make great ones, too.

I did alot of protein shakes made with Jay Robb pp, unsweetenened almond milk, 1 raw egg, unsweetened cocoa powder, and sometimes some fruit. And LOTS of ice!! Yum.

Thanks everyone for the ideas. I frequently have protein shakes in the evenings, I don't know why I never thought to mix one up for breakfast!!! I have tried to make pancakes out of coconut flour and they didn't turn out. Do you have a recipe??

Coconut flour absorbs tons of liquid. Try 1/4 cup coconut flour with 4 whole eggs, 1 Tbs HWC, 1/4 tsp baking soda, sprinkle of cinnamon, a packet of sweet n low (or similar equivalent)... maybe some vanilla as well. This should get about 4 3-inch pancakes, and they are nice and thick.
