Hi Rogues!! Hope you had a great week. I've been away on vacation, loving every minute of it!! I won't bore or tempt you w. the details of my diet this past week
, but I'm back to my LC lifestyle (and even dh is going LC w. me) so I plan/hope to be back in my target range soon.Been exercising like a mad woman while away. We hiked about 11-12 miles a day most of our trip, and climbed, swam, biked too!! I even did weights in the resort gym one day!! So, the exercise poriton of my life is going well. Plan to keep that momentum going. Played softball last night, and planning a workout today at the gym. Doing Atkins for now, but my bday is the end of May so I know I won't stay strict LC memorial Day weekend. We'll see. I'm toying with a final 3 week round, loading that weekend. We'll see how LC treats me. I really DON'T want to do another hcg round!! Cheryl-glad you're getting settled in. Hope the weather treats you well up there! Glad you moved before it got hot!! Hope you're all doing well!! those I missed!!

I had equine care this afternoon! I dressed head to toe in rain gear and still ended up soaked to the bone. I don't know if the majority of it was sweat or rain, but wet is wet. Next time I won't even bother! Muck boots and a rain slicker. That's it. I don't know about the blip you had. Sometimes they just happen and who knows why? Just get back on your regular water intake and see how it goes tomorrow. Quote:
I like your description of a potential new relationship and what a lady goes through on a special date early in the romancing. It's been so many years since that applied to me that it made me smile to read what you wrote. That's so typical of a woman to eat lightly when on a date. on feeling light! You've lost over 100 lbs? Woohooo! How does it feel? I will have lost nearly 100 when I get to goal (140) and if I ultimately land somewhere in the 30's for maintenance I'll claim that "100 lbs lost" for myself. Who knows what I really weighed when I wasn't weighing and was pigging out?Quote:
That's great your DH and you will both be doing LC together! That makes it so much easier when you can eat the same food. When's your B-day? Tell us so we can remember to send you lots of Birthday wishes when it gets here! I'm really glad I moved during a mild season, too. I was so afraid I'd have to move during the winter. God worked it out just like it should have happened. ![]() The weather has been WET and we still have one more day of this before it clears up. I'm over it! So is the dog.

Glad God worked all the details. That's just like Him! You can keep your rain. I'm a sunshine girl, but now that we're hitting 100+ I'm a fan of shade!!My birthday is May 26. Always falls on Memorial Day weekend. Fun time! I'm toying with trying a low cal LC approach and see if I can get the scale moving w.o hcg. I did order new pellets, but will give Atkins a whirl. I just couldn't lose on it earlier this year. We'll see. The exercise is quite nice. I did a 30 minute Zumba class tonight, then lifted some weights, then hit the store (Sprouts). Feel good. I was really pleased w. my energy and stamina on our trip, felt like I could hike and run forever!! Going to keep with it. If I lose weight eventually from it, all the better. But I usually don't . Sorry you had such a wet day w. the horses today. That's certainly not fun!! The following humidity is what kills me. I don't mind a bit of rain, but the mugginess afterward? Awful!!Glad to see your weight loss is moving again. KUTGW!! |

I love that idea of going forward with the LC approach. It's all about learning to maintain while living, right? We can't depend on things like hcg. We have to learn to balance our weight by simply eating properly.
I remember about Utah now! I've been to Zion but never hiked it. I've seen pics of the Narrows and have been amazed! So thankful that you all had the chance to do all that wonderful sight-seeing and put in all those miles together. I hope you took lots of pictures! What a wasted opportunity if you didn't. You'll have to go back again with a good camera! I got married Memorial Day weekend so that's a really good time to have been born! Great to be on a holiday weekend when most people are off that Monday. I think doing Atkins now is just going to take you back down to what your body now realizes is its right weight. Now that you've reminded it, it will do the rest! I'm hoping that is true, because that's my plan as well. If I get stuck at 160 or 159, I'll rethink that logic. ![]() That's so great how you felt so energized on vaca! What a wonderful side effect of being at goal! Remember when you were at the starting gate? How far you've come! Be proud and thankful, and take each day as it comes. Yeah, "wet day with the horses" for sure! I wore this jacket and pants set called "Driducks" and I bought them from Sports Authority. It was my first time wearing them and I put on my muck boots and tucked my jeans into the boots. I put on a ball cap and pulled the Driducks hood down over the cap and STILL I got so dreadfully wet. I do think (for the most part), it was internal wetness rather than rain. But wet is wet, so why not spare all the rain gear and just accept the wetness? Seems like it was a waste of time to try and prepare for the weather conditions. However, it should have been a therapy day and the place should have been crawling with people but they cancelled the lessons due to the weather and one of the three of us that normally does Tuesdays wasn't there today, so it was just me and the staff girl. As bad as the weather was, it was a rare opportunity to just be with the horses and tend to them without tons of other people around! I loved it. I got to groom 3 of the 6 horses and it was great. I even groomed THE most tempermental horse there. They used to say he was "staff only" because he was so unpredictable, but they loosened their grip on that situation and I groomed him tonight. They say he is very intelligent but I think he's just super-fearful! He flees all the time. It's a very dangerous horse to have in such a facility. I know Lyme Disease is part of the problem with many of the horses there, but he's the only psychotic one. Well, the only one that is truly dangerous, anyway. But I love working with them and although the rain does suck the big one, it was nice for those reasons. You take things for what they're worth, right? It was a blessing in its own right. It's almost 12:30 am and I'm still sitting in the chair in the den, typing away. Not sure why but maybe I had to get this out of my system. The weather can keep you "down" and stifle you in some ways. I guess I just had to let it all out tonight. Head for the shade, Julie! I'm a shade girl, too. Especially in that kind of heat! I recall Las Vegas and the dashboard covers; leaving the car windows down a hair so they wouldn't shatter in the heat. Yes, I do recall. Yes, the weight loss is moving along! I have a few days here and there where I take a step back, but I'm right back in "drive" the next day. So far, so good. I know that the most important thing is that we keep what we lost OFF and not how quickly we lose it. Lesson learned. We are learning to live a slim and healthy life, not just "dieting." It'll happen, Lynn. No matter what diet you are on, I'm sure you know from experience, that there are these times when your body just says "no way" and hangs on to whatever fat is trying to get lost with big long claws. Can't go on forever; the dam will burst and you will release the weight! Now if you are dieting faithfully for 3 months and nothing happens, then you got a problem (which is why I am here... lol)
and yes, Cheryl, I've lost over 100 pounds. lost 135 and gained back 35 (before starting hHcg on Sunday). I lost the original weight slowly. doing basically what "we" do without the vlcds/hcg. I would lose weight (slowly) for a time, then "stabilize", sometimes for 6 months. I called it my plateaus. Actually I was just comfortable with my loss and happy not to look like a beached whale any more. Then I'd get inspired again and jump back in for another 20 pounds or so, repeat. Took almost 7 years to do it. Held the 130 for over a year, then life and all its stressers hit (bummed relationship, lost dream job and haven't been able to replace it with something full-time or permanent since, menopause, (older) kid problems... etc) and the weight slipped back on. So I am really excited to FINALLY see the numbers going back down. Once I "bust an O" and drop below 160, I know I am on my way down again. (165-170 is kinda a stall point for me. spent a couple years at that weight.) Wanna say hello to everyone else: Julie, Plum, Tammy, PrivateDiva, Nosugar, canadiandina, disneyprincess, circusgirl, cathy, star, belfrybat, melanie, annefran, minimonkey, and anyone out there lurking. (see proof I read the entire thread lol) Hope all is going well and you are just too busy to post. lol. Rogue Newbie here who is looking forward to gleaning tidbits off of all your wisdom. Weigh in today (VLCD4) was 161.4. Down two from yesterday. Yesterday, I didn't finish my "calories". Crazy busy day and I was just not hungry and it was 9 pm before I knew it. so I just went to bed. Ate my proteins and some of the veggies (I ventured out there and ate some yummy brussel sprouts I found in the frig that just needed to be eaten. Called them "little baby cabbages".) and those lame grissini. but missed the fruit somehow. oops. I am just not a big fruit eater. definitely a salty not a sweety. Having some head-hunger this morning. its a first. I know I'm not "hungry" cuz I am NOT a morning eater anyway. (have had to forcefeed myself breakfast on previous (unsuccessful) diets). Just can't stop thinking about lunch... and its not for an hour. Gonna go for a walk and take my mind off of it. Suzi Last edited by suzi7; 05-16-2012 at 08:40 AM.. |

Suzi, congrats on the 2lbs., and thanks for the encouragement!! Tell me something, how do you feel about the grissini? LOL!! Why not just skip and add a touch of protein?

Seriously, Lynn? I think they taste like a bland boring dry pretzel without the salt. I am gonna do some baking soon. Gonna experiment and make something better. Whole wheat, at least. with flavors added. garlic. rosemary. basil. poppyseed? sesame seed? (not sure if seed is allowed on P2) and def some sea salt. will post a recipe when I perfect it. (found lots of recipes online but nothing "exactly" right for P2 so I am gonna master this!) I have been low-carb for a couple years now and def insist on the teeny-tiny amount of carb I've been allowed be something worth eating!

Suzi-hope those losses keep up at that rate!! WTG!! You'll be below 160 soon. I hear ya' on those set points! Quote:
Love your post Cheryl!! And thanks on the avi pic. I put a few pics in my journal if you want to see them (link on bottom of my posts). I took a LOT of pics, don't worry. Wasn't going to miss that opportuinty. Dh was annoyed when I'd ask a stranger to take pics, but now that we're home and have lots of nice options, he's happy .Yes, I agree completely w/ you about losing it a bit more slowly and keeping it all off. I'm approaching it this way now too. I'm basically at goal, but still padded. So, I'm living my LC life, exercising consistently and waiting to see what my body does. I need to address my thyroid meds I think. My temps are in the low/mid 97's, and my hair has been falling out more the past few weeks. I will likely up my cytomel and see if that helps. I do feel good though Glad you were able to work w. your horses more intimately. It's nice when it's quiet and they get to know (and trust) you. Sad about their lyme and pycho issues. . Sweat vs rain? Neither one is fun!! And yes, living in AZ is very much like Vegas. Very hot, little shade and you develop coping mechanisms. The saving grace for me is evaporative cooling. If I can get wet, I am cool. Shade is my second mechanism. Working my way back down the scale today. Feeling good, full, content. I do have pellets coming, but don't think I will do another round. Unless I work at LC and exercise while only eating to hunger and stall out up here in teh 150's. Then I will reconsider. But, I suspect, my body will go back down to 148ish and hopefully stay around there. We'll see. Not in a rush. ![]() |

Hang in there, sweet-thing.Quote:
I started LC in October of 2009. I did it pretty faithfully (when I was bad I was very bad, but when I was good I was perfect.) Then I too let life, hormones, depression, anxiety etc get to me and I'd go completely off the tracks. Through it all, using Atkins, hhcg and my screwing around with regains, as I stand today, I have lost 58 lbs. The lowest I got was at the beginning of September 2011. I saw the 150's for all of one day, then I proceeded to head back up the ladder of despair. But I'm heading back down the ladder of hope and I'm not worrying about all this time and nonsense in my past that have kept me from reaching my goal long ago. I just focus on where I am and take it day by day. Guilt and shame get you nowhere and make you want to sooth yourself with the things you always turned to before: FOOD! It's a vicious circle. And I want off! Thanks for naming and calling-out all those who are MIA. The thread does seem so strange without them I never heard a peep out of Paula after the TX tornadoes. I don't know if she's alive or dead. Homeless or okay. It's not like her to not leave word. It's been so long that I've just let it go. Grissini suck. Let's face it. I used to make a very basic soup on P2 or when I'd make a salad and use those Walden Farms dressings, I'd break up the grissini and use them like croutons. That way, they are pretty good. Also, when I was following the OWL (Omaha Weight Loss plan), they allow popcorn (Reddenbachers Smart Pop, 100 cal bags.) Then I'll spritz them with ICBINB "0" calorie spray and add a few dashes of the popcorn powder. Comes in cheddar, nacho, butter, etc. Sorry you are fixated on food right now. I'd drop the grissini. Lots of rogues don't eat the grissini at all. You could be so sensitive to wheat that it is triggering cravings or hunger. Quote:

I think LC and patience will get you back to your lowest weight achieve via hcg. There is such a thing as "muscle memory" and I'm sure your body will remember how good it felt at the 148 or so weight and want to take you back there. You'll see! It won't take long. Especially the way you work out! Yes! Get your thyroid levels checked. That would make a world of difference in maintaining your ideal weight. I think I'm optimized but it's hard to tell the way my weight has fluctuated (due to my negligence and unfaithfulness.) My hair doesn't really fall out but I have to be really sick to get a fever of 99 or higher. I'm so glad DH sees that it was well-worth having strangers take pics of the family. People always ask people to do that! Only other option is to set up a tripod and who wants to carry those around when they're hiking! When we lived in Vegas, we rented a single-story house in a nice cookie-cutter neighborhood. I'm sure you know the type. Clay tile roof, Stucco, sprinklers in the lawn, etc. Well, my hubby and his son built a covering for our back porch/patio which faced South. It looked wonderful! They then attached a misting system all around the edge of it, to provide that moisture on our skin for evaporation and cooling. It was really nice. It was great being one of two people at the farm yesterday (though the third person that is usually there would have been nice to have, too.) I groomed three horse and I spent extra time with each of them. The really skittish one kept bolting out of his stall (Four of the horses are in "duplexes" with a run-in area.) I had to put his harness on and hold his lead rope so he felt like he was caught cause he kept bolting. I finally got his brushed but it wasn't a thorough job. And because he kept going out in the rain, each time he came back in, it was worse to clean him. Moron. But I took extra time with him to just be near him and touch him and talk to him. Pet him and sooth him. Not sure it helped much but maybe he'll remember me in the future and won't act like such a dick. (That will surely be censored.) As for me, I'm down another 0.4 but I don't know how. I cheated last night and went to McDonald's at 0100. I'm never up that late but I'd been sitting up watching DVD's and the rain finally stopped and all things put together made me want to go and be naughty. This is a small town and the drivethru and "Micky D's" is now open 24 hours. Very dangerous. Tomorrow the scale may show my naughtiness but today I dodged the bullet. I have nothing on my schedule today and I plan to do just that. NOTHING. Might take me a nap later on. Have a lovely day, ladies. Hope (like the two of you said) that our old ladies will come back home at least once in a while to tell how they are doing. Abandonment is never cool. ![]() |

Hi folks! I am in the final stages of this crazy multi-week work marathon, and looking forward to collapsing after this!
The exhibit went well, but MAN am I exhausted! I am unloading a fourteen foot uhaul worth of stuff today, and lugging it up stairs... and I am going to be working into the evening so that the place is relatively presentable tomorrow, when the landlord needs to come in for some maintenance stuff. I'm still a bit sick and still somewhat inflamed, but better than I was -- and once I get a chance to rest a bit, I think I'll finally be able to knock this flu. I am definitely wanting to do another p2 round -- I've been on p3 for some time now, with a couple of very small deviations from that -- and I think I am stabilized more or less, but heavier than I want to be. I haven't weighed, but I know that I've gained some with all the stress and being sick. I am still not sure how much is fat and how much is inflammation. I'll let my body recuperate a bit, and then launch into a new round -- after the long p3 break, I suspect it may be a good one. No idea if my remaining rx-hcg is still good, but I will test it, and use it if it is... if not, I have unopened hhcg, and that is just fine.

Ok, I'll be here! LOL Nice to be wanted!
Mini, glad ur feeling better. I was wondering where you were. LOL I had a down day today, stayed at 600 calories. I wonder what the scale will read tomorrow. My daughter and I are going to a new bakery tomorrow for lunch. They have sandwiches and soups so I'll be tasting those. Of course bringing home goodies. My dd ordered Chloe's cake from there. Red velvet with Dora on it. Chloe's favorite! LOL Going to see a friend who had a procedure done on her back that didn't turn out so great. I know how that is all too well. Time to go to bed. be back tomorrow!

ok... I think I boo-booed a bit. still lost .8 but yesterday, when I was heading out for my walk, it started to rain. And I walked past my exercise bike and it called to me... "Suzi...I miss you". and I succumbed to the temptation and it felt so good (never went over 10 mph honest). gonna skip it for few days and see if that is "a bump" (even tho I lost some).
Course then it stopped raining so I went for my walk anyway. Determined to "bust that O". This is my brick wall. (160) For the last year of dieting, I'd lose til 160something and then bounce back. Up and down. It didn't make logical sense but I just couldn't break thru. This is my "test" of hHCG. if this works, I will be dancing! ![]() Tammy, your granddaughter is adorable! When is her birthday? 2? so big! and Dora is the bomb with little ones. My granddaughter (now 4) has had Dora-itis for a couple years. lol well, gonna go do something constructive. or maybe DE-structive! not sure... lol Suzi |

Well, I upped my water to almost a gallon yesterday, and it prompted a tiny release, so I guess I'll take it. I'm noticing that I'm barely past LDW from last round, this is a tiny bit discouraging, and makes me wonder if I'll meet my timeline.

News on me.....yesterday was a down day for me. Ate 600 calories and GAINED! UGH! well, going to lunch soon and I'm not ready! Gotta run! |

Mini-glad you're in the home stretch. Rest will do you wonders!! Tay-enjoy that bday girl!!Suzi-I think you'll be fine!! If you were exercising b/4, keep doing it!! Lynne-I've been reading about "overhydrating" lately. I'm not convinced drinking tons really helps anything. But, down it definitely good!! Hope you continue that downward direction!! Cheryl- glad you're down! I'm reading a lot about metabolism and diet etc. and am breaking away from a "diet" mentality. It's challenging, and scary as the scale is still up for me. But I'll not make any changes until I'm back to 148. I do like the idea of revving up my metabolism and eating!! I know just the type of house you're talking about. That's what we almost bought. Coming from the East coast, the concept of "evaporative cooling" still baffles me. But it does work! Our house now is a tract home too, but BIG and lovely. We're still debating whether to settle our second mortgage, or take the modification. They came back w. a good mod, low interest, forgive half the balance plus all the past due interest. Just not sure what to do. We'll see. Need to hit the gym, but did some lunges last night. Hate them, but now that I'm doing them "right" they do work!! Sore!! Have a great day!! |

Hiya rogues!Just popping my head in to say hi to everyone and ask Julie something... Julie - have you been looking into Matt Stone's work? I've just recently been exposed and find it interesting, to say the least. (If you haven't you should check it out as it seems in a similar vein to where you're heading.) I'll be following your journey to see how you get on. ![]() |

I think that was part of the problem before... too much cardio. and little/no weight loss. I was "obsessed" with burning off more calories each day than I ate. but it never worked. just frustrated me. So I gave up when I heard about the Hcg diet. and other than an occasional walk, I haven't been on my cycle (or elliptical or stairclimber) for a couple weeks. Don't know if that's a long-enough break to cause problems (I only did it for 30 minutes yesterday) but I've actually missed doing it (not for hours, just for a little bit each day). I think I will put off the "big stuff" til after I stabilize on P3 (P4). lol Just add some daily bicep curls, squats, crunches, etc. back in.

Hi all -- well, I survived, and I am one tanked out woman!
Lynne -- I pretty much resigned myself to the flu not leaving until I was through my MFA exhibit -- I just didn't have time to sleep or rest, and my immune system is weak to begin with from the Lyme disease ... so yes, two months of the flu has been less than fun. I've been averaging two to three all-nighters a week, with minimal sleep in between on the nights I did go to bed... and a ton of heavy lifting and hard labor and stress... so my poor body is trashed. All that said, it is now time to rest, recover, and do some serious supplements and detoxing. I fell into some bad habits during the last few weeks... living mainly on coffee and energy drinks, not eating particularly well (on p3 plan, for the most part, but definitely not balanced meals!) I was also relying on cold meds to allow me to function, and that isn't great long-term.... and, I drank a bit during all the festivities, which was fine, but not great for health, either. On the plus side, I am certain I gained some muscle with all the lifting and lugging! And, flu notwithstanding, I am stronger than I expected to be after not having worked out in a long time. I'll be starting p2 this week -- I think I will start the hcg tonight, do one day of p3 as a mini-load, and then start the p2. If I am not hungry tomorrow, I may just jump right in with the p2 right away. I still need to test my rx drops and see if they are still good. |

Great to see lots of chatter! Yeah!! Good Morning everyone! I have been MIA this week - had to stay in a hotel for work - too much to figure how to incorporate hcg into the week - no problem though I put it in the freezer and am back on this morning. Not reloading - I only missed 4 shots- just jumping in - after all - this is rogue! If it backfires I will know why. On that note I prepared lots of food last night so I am ready for what comes my way.
Lynne - read your posts - you are staying on track and that is great! Dont give up!! Are you still using the mf meals? Hi Suzi, Mini, Private, and Cheryl!! |
