Lynne! Great job on the loss!!!! Sounds like you have a good plan for today! Have you read Weight Loss Apocolypse? It is a fantastic book about Hcg from a totally different perspective - the mind! She talks about the importance of finding new activities and hobbies to replace eating. I know that sounds obvious but reading it made it sink in for me! Another trick I used when fsting was to picture each rough spot - hunger emothional or physical - like a bicep curl and the importance of just pushing through the tension and it would be over. Works like a charm!
I am throwing myself into work for today and tonight I will probably clean! Im thinking of escaping for a week to Florida just to get my head on - I want this to be a success just that bad! |

One of my "tricks" when I experience head hunger is to chant my personal matra in my head..."healthy, fit, lean, 140" over and over. It sounds crazy, but it actually calms me and reminds me what I'm up to. Also, keeping a fairly strict schedule of eating (10,2,6,8) helps me remember that even if I do have some hunger, it's never really very long until I fuel again. The pellets have never really eliminated the hunger for me, at least not for long. But, I never have that "starving" feeling, if that makes sense. My tummy growls, but I'm almost always comfortable just drinking some water or tea and waiting it out.

Hi, ladies! Haven't even attempted to get caught up on this thread. I hope I haven't missed anything really earth-shaking. I am just soaking-up any free time I have and just chilling when I'm not on the go.
I'm on day 3 of plain old Atkins (no hhcg this time) and I'm down 8.2 lbs of water already! I feel so much better already and not struggling with hunger or cravings. Excellent considering I have been literally living off of beer and pizza/chocolate/chinese food. It's another intermittent rainy day here in CT. It's a terrible weather pattern we're in but if it means that next month during my nephews wedding time that the weather will be perfect, we'll take it! They have people coming from as far away as CHINA (bride's brother.) Others coming from the West Coast (Seattle.) And even though Oregonians are used to rain, we'll hopefully have nothing but sun. My sister told me today (the groom's mom) that she and her hubby are paying for the rehearsal dinner. There are over 40 people going to it! It's only supposed to be those involved in the wedding party but it has turned into some ever-growing monster. Even my mother is going to it. She says it's going to cost like $2K! She needs to cut that back and tell our mom that it starts with her. I just texted her and told her to start x'ing people off that list. It's beyond ridiculous. I have to go put the puppy out to go potty. BBL, after the refrigerator has been picked up and it's on its way to Massechusets. (sp?)

New ground this morning!! Yay!!
Cheryl, I can't tell you how happy I am to read about your home and your Atkins success!! Yestarda was a great day for me. I had a more "normal" dinner: salad with 1 hard-boiled egg, topped with one of my mf meals (sloppy joes). It was almost like a taco salad!! I was able to do this because I was off work and able to eat dinner a little earlier. Of course, that meant it was my last meal of the day, at around 6:30, so I had to just keep reminding myself that I wasn't really hungry!! This is the real miracle of this diet - to learn how to "be" without unnecessary food. |

Go Lynne!! So proud!! You are going to blast through this round no problem!!
I have no idea if i will!! I ended up listening to a friends advice yesterday - talked me into completing the 2nd loading day - I really did not want to but she said it makes all of the difference. I did not go crazy, ate very little but high fat. Now I am ready to begin! I made a green smoothie with egg white powder, spinach, and strawberries and brought it to work with me. Lynne - I like your regimen of eating at specific times - that is something I would like to implement so I can plan better. Cheryl!! So nice to see my Connecticut friend again!! I highly highly highly - recommend that book! It got a little too "deep" for me in certain parts but it is all part of the process. The author thinks Hcg is the greatest but really warns the reader about the emotional aspect of committing to go a certain period with out eating the way they are accustomed to. Have a great day everyone!! |

Lynne! New ground is good ground. Thanks so much for your happiness about my happiness and successes. It means a lot. I am down even more today! Back into the 170's; 178.2. Atkins always works very well for me during the first month.Your taco salad sounds very yummy! You must have been really stocked-up w/ MF meals! No wonder you wanted to incorporate them into P2. WTG on making it work for you! Quote:
I love loading so I'm glad you did a second day. My loads were always "anything goes", though. P.A.R.T.Y! I have some exciting news, on top of being back in the 70's. I found out last night that the riding lessons are beginning today! So at 4 pm I have my very first riding lesson EVER! And it's sunny and dry outside today! Wooohooooooo! Hope it stays that way. MAN we've been in a wet weather pattern. It's still really cool here and very breezy (darn right windy, but the weather peeps always say "breezy.") So I guess I'll be hobbling around later today and popping my Motrin. I don't know if I'll even sit on the horse this first lesson, since I need to learn to tack up the horse first. Will most likely keep my feet on the ground today. No biggie! I need to learn "from the ground up." Have a splendid day today, ladies. Off I go to get something done before my lesson. ![]() Last edited by CherylB; 05-11-2012 at 07:19 AM.. |

Riding lessons!! Woo Hoo Cheryl!! Enjoy every second!!
I love the "light on my feet" feeling of releasing the weight!! I know you do, too!! I meant to mention, I got some "Natural Calm" and I'll be trying it out tonight. The package says to start slow, so I think I'll just have a teaspoon in some water. Also, it says you can just mix it with cold or room-temp water. Boiling water, mixing, adding more water, sounded like a hassle. THAT's just how lazy I am sometimes!! |

I know how you feel! I think it's much harder for your body when you've lost the weight and then regained some. Your body knows how it should feel and it rebells big time and wants the extra lbs back off, pronto!
Does the natural and calm help with sleep? I hope it works for you! |

WOW!!! Those dresses are amazing!!! What a talent you have!! I am beyond impressed! I have a sewing machine in an unopened box upstairs - this may have been just the motivation I need to at least open the box!!
Lynne! Keep up the great work! I followed your way this morning - I am sipping on a delicious "proticiccino" - a left over mf packet! 80 calories 5 carbs and 15 protein - did not feel like I could make it until noon today so I am hoping this won't backfire on me! Not sure what my meal plan is today - which is a bad thing - I have to plan better! In the back of my mind I would like to keep it to liquids but I realize i need to learn to eat at some point! The shakes are easy and there are no cravings when I finish - when I eat I always want something at the end of the meal - but I can be creative with the fruit. That being said - I think I will take some fish out of the freezer just in case! Cheryl - it is a gorgeous day in Connecticut! Get outside and enjoy the sunshine if you can!! On my way for a five mile walk/run ![]() ![]() ![]() Have a great day everyone!!-oh - I don't weigh sorry for not providing loss info - I will weigh when I can "handle it!!" |

Good morning, troops. reporting in.
privatediva, those costumes are BEAUTIFUL! so talented. I, like you, nosugar, have a sewing machine somewhere... still in the box, if I could even find it. lol. and a basket of clothes sitting here that need basic mending/alteration that will eventually go to Goodwill (after I torture myself with them for a few more months). I wish I had 1/4 of your talent. Cheryl, glad your move is going well and you are settling in. and glad for your riding lessons. I need to go "do something" that I have always longed to do. First to decide which thing... there are so many! (and limited funds right now to do them with). And my doctor would approve MORE if I went rx and let her monitor me weekly... and charge for it. lol. She'd also love to convert me to a carnivore too, but she knows I'm just a rogue and we compromise. Lynn, the creams and such are all Suzanne Somers. and they smell divine. all natural, organic, good stuff in them like Alpine Rose Stem Cells and argan and coconut oils (tons more, each is different, but yummy). I have decided to "give them up" at least for the first week, go as "strict" protocol as my veggie soul will let me. Then, as long as I am losing weight and not stalling, I will add in one thing at a time. If no effect, good for me (and science lol) If I stall, I will back off for a while. Most important thing for me right now is to lose this weight... as fast as possible! As for me right now, started my hHcg yesterday and done with load day 1. and I am NOT looking forward to today. I feel gross and bloated and stuffed still this morning. I think even a food allergy-type reaction to SOMETHING because my sinuses are acting up and I feel all rheumy. Remembering why I don't eat all that stuff. lol. (yesterday (no laughing): bk: huge omelet (veggie and all cooked in BUTTER with lots of cheese), lunch: spaghetti that was more like lasagna (cheesy), salad with Ranch, dinner: (this is where the laughing will start) loaded mashed potatoes (which I was so craving) (cheddar cheese potatoes with onions, mushrooms, garlic all cooked in butter, then topped with thick FF sour cream), then spinach (thin crust) pizza. truthfully, I ended up pushing about half of my food away each time (except for the mashed potatoes), as I was soooo full I couldn't stand another bite. for snacks: chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream and snickers bar (which was delicious. lol) I will stuggle thru today. Struggling right now with the whole concept of breakfast. Tried a bowl of granola cereal. tossed it in the compost bin after two bites. just not what I want. (not a big breakfast eater anyway). lunch is planned as a veggie burger (Amy's, made with mushrooms and walnuts) with "the works" including (gasp) the bun and french fries. Dinner is with friends, so I am actually cooking (lol): Stuffed shells, salad, garlic bread. Sorta a farewell to fat food dinner with my supporters. Finishing up the ice cream together, sending them home with all the "leftovers" and pantry demons that would tempt me to have another load day on Sunday, and probably going to bed after a cream filled donut... and feeling like a new member of the Klump family (from Nutty Professor). I am already looking forward to Sunday and the "cleansing". I can't figure out how to put all those numbers on the side, so here they are: 265 (10 years ago)/165/167.2 (r1p1ld1)/goal: 120 (small frame 5'4" (if I stand real straight and stretch a little) o and I am 56 years young. WOE: low carb vegetarian, sorta paleo/organic, now hHcg start date for hHcg: May 11, 2012 My "stall" points are my current weight (I spent a lot of time at about 165-170 (years) when I originally lost) and probably around 130 (my low weight the "first time", again, held it for over a year, just couldn't manage to drop the last ten...) wow. what a book! lol. (delaying facing breakfast...) Suzi |

Cheryl, I didn't try the Natural Calm yet...that's just how lazy I get at night!! What happens is this, I get home, fix my dinner, sit down on couch with Mr. Goddess to watch TV and w/in an hour I start to fall asleep. I doze a bit then go to bed and wonder why I can't sleep past 4:30-5:00!! I really need to try to stay up until 10!! THEN take the Natural Calm and go to bed!!
Suzi, go up to the top of the page to the blue line and on the far left click on "user control panel" Once there, go to Edit your Details, and go to the 3rd box, about 1/2 way down is a place called "stats" and you just fill in whatever numbers you want, with slashes between if you want. Just type it in and then go to the bottom and save. Then, if you want you can go back to the User control panel and under Settings and Options you can create a signature line that will appear at the bottom of each post you make. HTH!! Well ladies, I had my first "stay the same" day!! Grrrrr, I just hate that!! I did notice yesterday that I wasn't peeing as much, so maybe it's just a bit of water, but I really count on releasing weight every day!! I'm eating 500 calories!! I HAVE to be releasing!! Diva, the tutus are absolutely amazing!! They will be treasured by the girls forever!! nosugar, I guess I missed that you did mf before!! I have some cappuccino still too, I will have to decide if I want to sub that for the 1T of hwc I've been allowing myself w/ my coffee. It would be a bit higher in calories, but it might be the protein boost I could use in the morning. |

I forgot to add that I am having "slather and load" days. Indulging inside and OUT. I am using all my beautiful creams and lotions, exfoliating, (bottle) tanning, deep-conditioning, lubing and greasing all my parts (lol). like I said, going to go off all "fats" (even the external ones) for at least a week until I see how this hHcg works for me. So I am "stocking up" on fats inside and out. lol
Lunch is calling me... then going out to work in my (tiny but organic) garden. Suzi |

Just had to check back in!! I feel soooooooo good! I used a new hcg today - I had been using one from a pharmacy but I had my doubts so I ordered from another place and I cant get over how good I feel! This may not be related to the new brand - just may be a coincidence. I have zero hunger and loads of energy! I went for a 5 mile walk - nothing impressive - not a power walk. I cleaned my house, did laundry, cleaned the pool and its only noon time! Im making lunch - not really hungry but I have a house full of kids heading over to swim and the peaceful part of my day will be over! I am having cod on a bed of lettuce with mustard and will make a strawberry slushie mid afternoon.
For the first time I am optimistic about this weight loss! I am always hungry and to experience just a few hours alone - and not think about food is very unusual for me. I did manage to drag myself on the scale. I was 145 today - no idea where I started or what I was after loading. I will track from here. Welcome Suzi!! Enjoy your creams! They sound super! I made the mistake of putting a good handful of castor oil all over my stomach yesterday - duuuhhh! I also hated loading - I feel your pain! Hang in there! Lynne - I never completed mf - no surprise there! We have a few stores in CT that sell all of the products so when I ma in the area I pick them up. The drink was a nice change this morning and I will exchange the calories for my second fruit. No grrrrr on the weight - you had a great loss yesterday and as you said - 500 calories you have to lose - I bet you will see the numbers change tomorrow. How does your stomach feel? Is it getting flatter? Keep us posted - you are on track for a great round! Have a great day!!!!!! Last edited by nosugar; 05-12-2012 at 09:26 AM.. |

When I lived away from CT, it was the same for me and my family too. You get used to being apart and after you get back together, it's so hard to say goodbye again. Then there is that mourning period that you have to go through all over again. Quote:
It has been 100% perfect here today! I didn't go outside much but had all the windows open and got so much of my checklist stuff done! I'm feeling very accomplished right now. I hope you had a great walk. Quote:
I think it's a great idea to pick one of your "bucket list" things and go for it! I started back with the horses strictly as a volunteer at this place and did all the drudge work (as well as grooming and feeding) all through the winter, which thankfully was very mild. Then lessons for volunteers began yesterday and they are severely discounted for volunteers who have at least 3 months in. I just made it with a little room to spare! See what your funds and schedule will allow then see what's around for you to choose from. I find Adult Ed classes are fun, too! I took a few Creative Writing classes and one Beginning Guitar class, but dropped out of that because I was so jazzed about the horses at the time that I couldn't care less about practicing at home with my lessons. I asked for all the handouts and the guy mailed them to me so I can practice whenever I get back in the mood. Quote:
You need to change your evening patterns. Then I'll bet you'll sleep through the night without any help from any kind of do-dads. Does hubby wake early? Is that why you get up at that time? ![]() Sorry you STS today. It happens to us all! Make sure you are drinking plenty of water. Quote:

I couldn't do that (not weigh to see where I started from.) Everyone feels differently about the scale and measuring body parts. I'm a scale person and avoid the measuring tape. Good for you on that 5 mile walk! Quote:
Putting a link in to your journal in your siggy is tricky but I'll try to explain. Open your journal then go to the address up at the top of the window (your url.) Click on the address and it should highlight. Then right click and "copy." Go into your siggy and post it into your siggy in the area that allows you to post a url. It won't say your catchy name that you chose for the journal but if you can get that far, I'll help you to put the right name in place of the url address. Okay ladies. Now for my day. I got a #@$% load of work done today around the duplex! I did tons of dishes (packed some things dirty just to get them over here.) Washed them all by hand cause I haven't bought Cascade for the dishwasher yet. Then I vacuumed every inch of the place, followed by sweeping off the front porch (bird seed shells all in the cracks of the wooden porch.) Sweeping it did only half as good a job as I wanted so I took the vacuum out there and sucked up the rest. The vacuum got overheated and just died! I thought it was dead for good. I changed the bag (which was full) and tried to turn it back on after a while. It took about a half hour or more before it came back on! I was so happy. So back out to finish the porch, then refilled both bird feeders. Had to remove this great big elephant ear plant off the stereo cabinet so I could place some shims under the lower side (this house is very crooked.) The shims were not large enough and I was tipping the cabinet. Tipped it a little too far and the Christmas Cactus tumbled off onto the freshly-vacuumed floor. Threw it back into the pot, picked up the broken pieces and stuck them in a vase with water. Gave up on the shims for today. The cabinet needs a piece of 2 x 4 or something thicker. So, while the elephant ear plant was on the floor, I got down there and pulled off all the dead and dying leaves. There were a lot of them! It got rather neglected in the move. Now it looks healthy and happy and it's back up on it's cabinet. Then I put all the DVD's and VHS tapes into the Armoire and arranged them "just so." Placed the bookcase shelf pegs into both bookcases and restocked them both with all the books I've brought over thus far. (Wiped all the shelves down before restocking.) Vacuumed up the plant droppings and dirt then put the vacuum back (again.) Unpacked all the miscelanious (sp?) bags and things that I brought over from the house (mostly office and bathroom stuff.) Took out the trash. Unpacked the boxes of bedroom stuff. Stacked all the empty boxes for reuse so that when I go back over there (tomorrow, most likely), I'll use them to pack up more stuff that is yet to make the journey over here. And the dog had a great day, too! Our upstairs neighbor (lady) was home alone today and spent a lot of time grading papers in the back yard so I let Sissy out to be with her and her dog. She was wearing her electric radio collar and she was out there for a long time! I was very proud of her. She finally started barking to come in around 5 pm and that was because it was past her dinner time. It's been wonderful having the windows open and airing out the house all day! Tomorrow I don't know what the weather will bring but I will still do what needs to be done. I'm anxious to go buy some of those screw anchors (plastic things that help heavy objects stay in the sheetrock walls) so I can hang the curtains on the bay window and a large, heavy picture near the pantry. Still working on turning that closet into a pantry but I'm going to make it a nice one! |

I had a crazy dream last night...I ate a bag of m&m's! I've not has them since before 5/09!! I have has some super dark chocolate in the past year (part of my problem, I think) but no other candy. I'm imaging that this is my brain and mind trying to purge these last few cravings! I sure hope so! I know I'll always have to be conscientious about the food I eat, but I look forward to a life where it's not constantly on my mind. |

Almost got into a fight with one of my daughters who (yesterday) INSISTED she wanted to take me out for Mother's Day today, of course. (first VLCD for me). She is thin and just doesn't get it. But I held my ground. Finally convinced her to give me a rain check. lol. So far so good today. Not saying I'm not hungry... just being a good girl and gonna go paint my fingernails again. lol Suzi |

Happy MD!
I had to play for church this morning and then the guys had to work so Merry and I went shopping and then came home with some special ice cream (really special...google "Glace"...it's Christopher Elbow and it's unbelievable). I'm just having a little with a small glass of champagne. A nice celebration of being done with the ballet and of Mother's Day. We're going to watch movies sweet! |

![]() Had a really busy day again today. Little by little (or lots by lots) I'm getting all things done. I'm excited for the day when I can just chill on a routine basis. Tomorrow at 5:30 we are meeting at a nice restaurant to treat my Mom to dinner and she'll get her cards and flowers and what-not. I'm LC'ing it so I will order a big, juicy burger with cheese, sauteed onions and mushrooms and add some bacon for good measure. Side of mayo and mustard, lettuce, tomato and a few dill slices. Oh! And at least one Miller Lite. Come to find out, there are only less than 4 carbs in each of those. Tonight I made a cornish game hen but it wasn't worth the time and bother. I love the skin more than the meat and there's never enough skin on a cornish hen! I only had one cup of coffee and one slice of cheese earlier. I bought a Brita Filter today and now I have plenty of tasty water to drink. I was in desparate need of water. I've been drinking lots today. Looks like I'll be going through a lot of filters. I'll be back again at some point during the day tomorrow. We have another rainy system moving our way and it's supposed to be starting tomorrow. So I'll do as much as I can before the rain hits, then move my energies to the indoors. Happy Mom's Day, all you Mothers! As an ex-step mom, I include myself in that greeting. |

Not sure what "normal" is (which is probably why I chose to hang out on the Rogue thread lol) but I weighed in this am (r1p2vlcd2) at 166.6, which I think is good considering my post-load weight yesterday was (blushing) 172, and which means I only have to lose another 1.6 to get back to my pre-load weight of 165. I'm happy with that ... for now.
Yesterday's meals were: Br: tea w truvia (lots of tea (all decaf or herbal) w truvia lol; lunch: gy (w cinnamon and truvia), cucumber slices, and grissini (which is so not exciting, but.. I should stick with something from the Protocol religiously. lol); dinner: a Protein shake (ice, scoop of protein powder (w cocoa/truvia for flavor lol), and water), followed by a "snack" of strawberries and a tomato, and that exciting grissini. checked the calories and it was 350?? Is that right? Going to try and hit closer to 500 calories today, but I was only really hungry once (around 3 right before my dose) and actually went to bed satisfied. o I drank all my water (most in the form of my yummy herbal teas. chilly here yesterday) Hope everyone had a wonderful (and successful) day yesterday! Yesterday was a challenge, but it paid off!
I had 2 coffees with 1T hwc each, and I thought that was soooo indulgent!! One meal replacement of 110 cals, then Mother's Day lunch with the in-laws: spinach salad w/ a few bits of raw onion and a small piece of salmon. No dressing, just some Tabasco. Then the long afternoon/evening at home. I decided that I was done eating for the day, and around 8pm it got dicey, but I somehow managed to make it to 9:30 and bed w/out eating!! One day at a time!! |

back, Plum! Glad you enjoyed P3 and even shaved off a few more lbs. Best of luck with your new round. (Deb's daughter's plot to surprise made me "sniff" too.)Quote:

![]() I went out for our Mom's Day dinner tonight and everything we ordered was "perfecto!" How often does that happen when a party of four goes out for a nice dinner? Not often! I can attest to that. Then we all came back to my duplex after dinner and I got to show off all that I've done since my mom and sister saw it on "day one" (day I had the furniture moved in.) Bro-in-law never saw it before. It's a very homey place and I'm going to have them all over again soon. Maybe have a BBQ. ![]() Goodnight ladies. Signing off and sliding into bed to watch a little tv before I head off to slumberland. ![]() Last edited by CherylB; 05-14-2012 at 05:20 PM.. |

Cheryl, your home and outdoor area sounds so nice!! I didn't realize that the weather was so quirky in CT. I hope you have some fine days soon!!
Well, a little blip up this morning. I might know why...as I was going to bed last night I realized that I hadn't had any water all evening!! Well, it was too late to start in on it at that point, so I just went to bed. Do you think I'm retaining? I drink 16 oz in the morning, 2 liters during the day, and usually at least 32 oz. at night. I'll make sure to get it all in today and hope that tomorrow brings me better news! |

Cheryl, glad your mother's day dinner went so well. love that "moment" when other people get to see what you "saw" when you walked into an empty place and saw a beautiful home. so validating!
Lynn, still chuckling over your m&m dream. def low-cal snack. lol and congrats to all of us for making it thru MD with so little damage and so much success! Holidays are the worst temptation (that and hot dates with that (potential) special someone who insists he MUST wine and dine you to impress and thinks you are being over-dramatic when you just order a salad. lol) This morning, I feel like I am walking on air. ok, lighter anyway. 163.4. gone is the loading bloat weight (YEAH!) and another 1.6 as well! Got a busy day today but I will be smiling (while munching my grissini LOL) (btw I AM going to perfect baking those in flavors. all they have around here is plain. Otherwise it is gonna be a LONG 6 weeks) Praying for everyone's success today! Suzi (o and, Tammy, ditto on the Go Steelers! Counting off the days til Camp starts) |
