Tomorrow begins the 500 cal days!! I can't believe I'm excited, I just really want to see the scale move in the right direction again!!
Sorry the scale isn't cooperating with you, canadiandina! What day are you on? I noticed in my last round it just got really slow after 14-16 days, and that was just how it was. Not sure what this round will bring, and I don't know what I could have done differently. Since I don't eat fruit, I wouldn't do an apple day. I know some of the women around here have done fat fast days with success. I was too scared to try that, but maybe it would be worth a try for you.

I have a new-found ally in my quest for health!! My cousin's wife's son (in his 20's)!! He was posting about starting a diet (bodybuilding for him) and we chatted on line about paleo. I shared my anti-grain sentiments, and now we're "nutrition buddies"!! He's a cool dude, and I'm happy to have someone in my family supporting me/getting support from me.

Have you lost a lot of weight pretty fast? If so I'd say yes it will pass. Sometimes our bodies just need to play catch up. Scientificlly you have to lose weight on so little calories

hi all ! I am back doing another round. This will be round 4.
We went to Ft Benning, GA and saw my son graduate and then he came home with us for 10 days and now he is in Ft Campbell, KY. Only 7 hrs away! So now after gaining some weight eating too much junk food and fast food, time to lose the rest of this weight. I think I needed the break too. My body is feeling normal again after cycling round after round. Start VLCD1 tomorrow! I'm ready! |

Vegetarian and considering hcg: how rogue is that?
I am posting here first becuz I have read thru the topics of the last year's posts on here and can find no "category" for this. I figured maybe, being rogues, you all may know where I can get advice. maybe. lol.
I am vegetarian (lacto-ova veg. means I eat dairy and eggs no meat) for religious reasons. I read a lot on Hcg over the weekend, including Dr Simeon's book online (which says drink milk in place of meat (frankly how 50's! lol) , and am very interested in starting it. but... I can find no info on here about doing it veggie style. any hint? (I'm used to doing things a little different and making adaptations) Suzi |

Hi Suzi! You might look into fat-free greek yoghurt (or maybe low-fat, depending on how rogue you want to go), and eggs as protein sources. I think Dr. S. says you can use 1 egg and 2 egg whites. I've read people on the board using 3 whole eggs. Cottage cheese is used by some as well. I've read that many people stall on dairy products, but I don't see why you couldn't give it a try. Another option might be some of the veggie burger products, especially if you're willing to forego the breadstick/grissini since the veggie burgers are so carby.
I am completely rogue, using my mf meal replacements to total 500 calories a day. Let us know what you decide!! As for me, today marks my 1st VLC day of this round. I didn't "load", but these last 2 days dosed with pellets as usual and ate some good meals. Yesterday I had a little bit of an over-eating episode, so here I am, ready to let it go!! As I look ahead at the calendar, I think I need to just stick with P2 as long as possible, maybe see if I can break through the slow down I experienced last round. I'm feeling a little anxious about reaching my goal in time!! I will say that I feel VERY replenished, and I hope to "remember" this good feeling as I charge forward into some recently unknown weight territory. |

In the protocol he does talk about using lowfat cottage cheese and eggs for vegetarians. I have had 2 vegans complete it successfully as well, but I wasn't thrilled about the "meals." I had them use protein powder and quinoa and they did lose, but I still worried about the protein levels.

sounds like what I do now basically. I am already low-carb, organic/basically paleo, but vegetarian so I do a lot of substituting no matter what diet I've tried. The whey protein powder I use is top-rate (17 g protein and 6.5 g carbs, 1.5 fat. very happy with it and would probably use it at least once a day for my protein sub. (use it once or twice a day now).
Ready to give this a try. I can do anything for a month! lol (to see if it works). I have been on Suzanne Somers diet (w veg adaptions) and doing Jillian Michaels workouts for three months now. Lost a total of about 4 pounds. seriously. it just won't budge no matter what cardio I do (and believe me I've tried them all for hours.... sigh) Doc says its not my thyroid (in normal close to optimal ranges). idk. hcg sounds like a possibility. YEARS ago I weighed 265. lost to 130, then idk started to slide the other way. currently 165 and not happy with my weight at all. MUST do something. |

Suzi, I do strength training 3x a week, which is also rogue. A lot of people feel like they release weight easier w/out any exercise. I definitely don't believe in tons of cardio for weight loss.
I gained on low carb/paleo (145-175+) over the course of a little more than a year!! It's hard finding the balance, but I'm determined!! This little 10-day break I didn't find it. Next time I try P3 I will do better!! |

Didn't read the posts. Just checking in. Surprised the new thread hasn't been started. Hope we keep this one for another week. We're only on page 2, after all.
I'm doing well. Dog was doing great too then suddenly she started into panic-mode about an hour ago. I went to get a blanket for her out of the linen closet in the bathroom and she crawled inside and went to the furthest, tighest corner in the back! I walked away and hid around the corner of the bathroom and when she came back out looking for me, I got her and closed the dang closet door before she could slink back in there. I have no idea what set her off. She was pacing before that and I asked her if she wanted to go potty. She said "yes" in her way and out we went together. She went straight for the car. I told her "no" and she just tried to go to the other side of the car. I went to go back into the house and was calling her and she just stood there, between me and the car, looking very unhappy. Not moving in either direction. I love dogs but dang it! I'm going with a cat next time I get an animal. When Sissy's life is over, I'm going to do the smart thing and get a cat. I'm tired of all the expense and nonsense that a dog puts you through when they want to. I'm on my final day of "pig-out and spending $ like it's water." Tomorrow I begin my budget plan and that will mean cooking. No doubt that will mean Atkins. I might incorporate hhcg into it and keep cals around 1000. I haven't decided yet but I just know "the party's over" as of today. Hope everyone is well. Please pray for my poochy. And pray that I can finally get every last little thing out of the other house and get the big-ticket items sold and gone. I want this to be OVER!

![]() I agree with goddess- cardio isnt the way to lose weight. It's all nutrition and throw in some weights. JM workouts are a great addition! Hiya everyone. I'm back to lc. I can stomach certain things including nuts and cheese so I'm rolling with it. Fatigue and nasea are becoming pretty bad. I have no appetite so when I can eat I'm trying to eat some dense foods. Missing dh bad and can't help wondering if I can hack this pregnancy without him. 6 kids all day every day is killer! Yikes |

Been SWAMPED with the move. It's tough having your feet in two properties at one time. It's the hardest move I've ever done in my life and I thought it was going to be one of the simplest! The electricity and water are being turned off over there today so I woke at 0500 (not planned) and ran over there to fill up all the buckets I could find so I can flush toilets, wash hands, etc.
Showed the refrigerator to a guy yesterday and he looked very interested, then he wrote me later on and offered me $100 less than I wanted. I said no and he disappeared. But I have a woman driving down here to look at it around 7 pm. I told her that there is no water or electricity there as of today and if she comes after the sun sets, we'll be looking at it using a flashlight. I will have to see if I can string about three long-@$$ extension cords from one of my neighbors houses. If she buys it just on faith, that takes GUTS. I hope it sells. One less thing to worry about. I should have taken a video of it so I could show it to her and show her the date it was taken, yada, yada. After this sells, I just have to convince someone to buy my huge a/c unit. Then everything else doesn't require electricity. Today I focused on washing and hanging curtains, installing hardware for curtains where there was none, etc. I also looked at my upstairs neighbors' laptop and bought it! Only $150 and it is head and shoulders above the laptop I have now which is literally falling apart. Got the desktop computer online, too! Things are coming together. I am pulling back from the therapeutic riding place for now. I just don't have the time or energy for that. The place is simply crawling with volunteers and I need to feel needed. If I'm there, I want to be busy. So I'm not going to be side-walking and I may change my barn/equine care to a time when they truly are in need of people. I know they still have times when there aren't enough folks. I'd rather do the equine care at those times. Still, it will only be one afternoon a week. I have to find a job, as soon as I have time to look for one! Just a part time equine job. That will be enough to help pay the bills and still have money to live on. So, that's the news right now! Will take pics and post when I have time. Weighed 189 yesterday on the morning of my first Atkins day. Today I was down to 184.4. Water! So much water, so little energy to pack it around. Love and hugs to all of you! Missed being here but will be around much more now, God-willing. |

Greetings all!
I have spent the last few days (and the next couple too) doing a bit of a cleanse. I do this once in a while anyway and thought it was time for it. Planning on starting my HHCG on Friday and doing two load days. I am actually looking forward to those! I have been dieting for so long, sadly without good results, and I am so craving a few things. Feels like Christmas (making my list and checking it twice... all the "evil" things. lol) and I have been reading up on this protocol (and all its variations). I am getting excited! Even my doctor gave thumbs up! (she prescribes the HCG rx but I thought I'd give the drops a try first. She will still be "monitoring" occasionally, wants me to call in with results.) My ? of the day is... what do all those numbers under your avatars mean? I THINK the first is your highest weight, then your weigh in for your first protocol, but after that I am confused. Want to set mine up sometime, maybe even add a pic of me. lol... so computer techie and all. o and the hardest part of all this isn't going to be giving up fats in my diet or my grains (I only eat a couple servings of whole grain or beans a day now), but MY CREAMS! I have the most lushest organic face and body creams. and I almost cried going through them and arguing with myself, trying to justify even one of them. Then I told myself its only for 3 weeks. (that is a bit of psychological mind play I am doing... only 3 weeks is what I am saying now. Less scary that way. Gonna see how it goes, but I am leaning towards doing the whole 40 if I am getting good results. I NEED RESULTS! lol...) Suzi |

Suzi, I hope you have a wonderful load!
The numbers (for me) are starting weight, hhcg starting weight, current weight and goal weight. I update them and my signature every day. Which creams do you use? Just the name, we aren't allowed to post websites. I'll look it up. I'm such a bath and body addict. Btw, I still use creams and lotions. Cheryl, yay for releasing water weight!! |

Hi All! Just jumping in here! I start vlcd1 tomorrow - not sure if this is considered "rogue" or not but due to my work schedule tomorrow I am making two smoothies - one whey with strawberries and spinach, and one egg white protein with baby spinach and strawberries. Each one comes out to 180 calories, 0 fat, 8 carbs, and 27 gms of protein.
oh - and I'm only doing one load say - i mentally just can't do it - i feel like i will never conquer my food addictions if i don't stop now - now when i am ready I look forward to reading all of your successes!!!!!!!!!!!! |

Day 3 over and I did ok. I got "head hunger" and I was struggling alittle. I ate 2 apples and feel better. My hubby even offered to cook a couple eggs for me. He was feeling bad for me. LOL
Going grocery shopping in morning for my cottage cheese & strawberries, more greek yogurt and my FF Beef hot dogs. Yes, I'm going to eat my hot dogs again. It works for me. |

tay65 - great job recognizing head hunger from actual hunger - that is a huge step!
Today is my first vlcd day - I am so looking forward to being in weight loss mode!! Infact, I did not even miss cream in my coffee! Dh just drinks water during the day so he is a great influence and support - we work together! Weekends he is not such a great influence Lynne - your attitude is great! Looks like you are set for a good round. I weight train and do cardio as well and plan to continue through my round - what else is there to do with all of this free time?!! Does mf stand for medifast? Let us know how the meal replacements work for you. Happy day everyone!! Last edited by nosugar; 05-10-2012 at 02:09 AM.. |

Hi nosugar and tay!! Sounds like we're in coping mode with strength! Do whatever it takes!!
Yes, mf is medifast, and I'm really happy with my choice to continue on with my rogue plan of an hhcg/mf hybrid. I'm having 1T of hwc in my coffee in the morning, then 4mf meals throughout the day for a total of 490 cals. Yesterday I had a bit of head hunger at night, but I managed to muscle through, and the scale rewarded me, even though Bernice refused to make an appearance (tmi-lol!). I have a huge challenge today as Mr. Goddess is working (usually he's off on Thursdays with me) and, left to my own devices, I get a little munchy. So, I have a long list of errands at various stores, plus the car wash, so I'll be out of the house for a few hours at least. I'm also going to do some much-needed housecleaning to keep myself busy, then settle in with some guilty-pleasure books on my ipad. That's it for now, have a wonderful day!! |
