Seven inches Off My Waist in ONE WEEK ?!?!?!?

It just doesn't seem possible....but the tape measure doesn't lie. It just BLOWS my mind !!! :jumpjoy:

I actually started about 2 weeks ago but, much to my regret, I did not measure before I started.

I've ventured into "rogue" territory, alsmost from the start. Years of on/ off low carbing has taught me a trick or two. I know that so much of what we have available to us nowadays weren't available back in Dr. Simeon's day, so I've played a bit with lowfat/ nonfat options. They have worked for me...I know myself too well to think that I could last the entire round (40 days) on the protocol. i have the utmost admiration for those of you who can :).

A few tricks :
  • My weakness for potato chips triggered not one, but TWO cheats during my first week. I felt one coming on this past weekend, so I picked up some turkey bacon and microwaved several slices until they were crisp. Broke them up and, voila, chips !!!
  • Heinz lower sugar ketchup (1 carb/T) and Emeril's spicy horseradish mustard gives my lean meats a much-needed kick.
  • Perdue lean turkey sausage links fill me up quickly, making snacking unecessary
  • Sweetzfree liquid sucralose make my tea yummy, with no carbs.

Physical hunger is all-but-nonexistent, but the emotional hunger is really tough to handle. I've been applying some principals from Beck's Diet Solution...in particular the Advantage Cards. I've created a note on my BlackBerry listing all the reasons I want/ NEED to resolve this weight problem. Reading them over several times a day has helped immensely to firm up my commitment to succeed.

HCG is a miracle to me

Forgot to mention...

I know we are supposed to weigh ourselves every day to ensure that any "tweaks" or additions don't derail our weight loss. But, the number on the scale can either make my day (like it did the day I lost 3 pounds) or WRECK it 9like it did the day that the scale showed 0 lost).

Soooo...I decided to use the tape measure as my guide. As long as the inches keep coming off, I know i'm on the right track. Anyone else doing this ?

Also, with the sodium I take in, I know there is water retention, so i've been drinking tons of tea and water to flush it al out.

Aaaand...i've started some light exercise. Nothing too strenuous...but i really need to build some stamina before my surgical mission trip to Peru next month...and I want to firm up. From what i have read, exercise can make the number on the scale creep up....but, since I'm not weighing every day, i think i'm OK with this.

Any imput would be GREATLY appreciated !!!

Amazing success! Come join us over at the rogues and alternatives thread. You'll fit right in as we do varying degrees of "rogueness", but most of us are pretty close to protocol with just a few other things added in. For example, I just have to have milk in my coffee, so continue to do so plus I eat a few different veggies (zucchini, green beans).
