When i got into p3....i think i jumped in too fast and while i never ever ate sugar or starch....i would slowly gain out of my window...do a correction day....lose a lot....then slowly gain back out of the window and repeat. That was the six weeks of p3/p4. I started April 16/17 loading with the intermountain pellets...and was slightly hungry and cranky and actually gained a wee little bit but then never lost it until i took a water pill (rx, and i know that it isn't a true barometer of weight loss because it forces the water out of you!)...so after almost two weeks and one night out drinking w/ friends! I laid off for a day then did a two day load on rx and only gained 2.5lbs from that binge weekend and went right into vlcd #1 (this was monday). So, since monday i have gone from 269.2 to 268.2. I do strictly protocol...the most rogue thing i do is maybe have an extra strawberry or a few extra grams of protein and weigh everything. I use no extra lotions, potions, etc...my shampoo/body wash and face stuff is all oil free ( love mary kay oil free stuff! ) my feet are cracking from the lack of moisture. I don't drink soda, NOTHING other than tomato paste comes out of a can (and it has nothing but tomatoes in it!) hmmmmm, what else is there....I use about 2 tbs of franks red hot probably once or 2x a week? I would say i eat 2 fruits 80% of the time, melbas are rare when i do eat them....unless it is used to make crab cakes. I have not eaten anything not on the "list" food wise...even gave away some baby artichokes i bought yesterday (thought they were on the list and they are NOT!) I drink 150+oz of water a day (have started making 64 of those the hcg lemonade) I use only stevia, green tea and my morning coffee.

I haven't exercised....want to bad...but haven't! I am in bed every night before 1030. hmmmm, can you think of anything else? I quit using the walden stuff, threw it in the trash to resist temptation. No oils, butter. I cook most things in foil packets. I have my ****** logs in my sig....

i just want to lose weight!!!!!!
It sounds like just a very, very stubborn stall. I had one this last round for almost two weeks and it was brutal (that was over Easter and birthdays - so no weight loss AND having to resist major food days!). Assuming you have done an apple day, I don't know what else you can do but wait it out. Your body is obviously resisting losing right now and for no obvious reason, but I bet you would be stalling out on any plan right now, since hCG is more resistant to stalls than most diet methods.

If I am understanding right you didn't take a long break between the pellets and rX for this round - given how hard this protocol is on your adrenal glands I'd say you may have entered too quickly and your body is throwing metabolic switches to put the brakes on losing fat stores (which is biologically dangerous, as far as our nervous systems are concerned. We know better, of course, but it is a big and difficult physical shift). If I had to credit anything to your issues with losses, that short break would be it.

My recommendation is to take it one day at a time and do a short round (no more than 20 effective doses), take a solid and full P3/P4, and then try again after your body has rested and solidified the set point. If you are still stalled at VLCD23, after so many days, it is time to take a breather. I think that might be the most friendly to both your brain and metabolism.

Btw, I'll be joining you in P2 next Monday. I had a devil of a time stabilizing and I would really like to be about 8 pounds lighter than I am right now so here we go! I will be doing rx for the first time so that will be interesting...
Welcome to the dark side - off label use of prescription hormones! Mwahahaaaa!!

More seriously, best of luck doing a reshaping round - I think it is an excellent idea to help you stabilize a bit lower and with less correcting, among other things.

Thanks Taryl! It was only a day from pellets to rx...i was on the pellets for about 10 days and pretty much had no loss to speak of and was cranky and hungry! Not a good combo! I do think it will be a short round (unless it takes a turn!) and take the summer off....work out, enjoy Texas, get some rowing in on the lake!
The school nurse told me to back off the water a bit...but 150oz doesn't seem like THAT much given my size? and that is what i did r1...BUT this one is definitely different!

I'm going to eat very clean this weekend, back off my spices (i love spice!) totally watch the salt and stick to diuretic foods (celery, asparagus) and lighter meats! See what happens...Apple day monday if needed....praying not though!

Hope everyone has a great night!!!

I'm so sorry to have not responded sooner. I've been very busy the past couple days. I eat 3 7 ounce burgers. Top each burger with 1 fried egg. Have a burger & egg combo for each meal, B, L, & D. Drink your water and I always still have cream in my coffee in the AM but YMMV with the cream.

This is by far my FAVORITE CD and I usually lose 2 pounds or more with it.

By the way, I use a fatty beef, if I don't have a fatty beef I fry the burger in butter or coconut oil. And I do use butter or CO to fry the egg in, just enough to keep it from sticking so I can flip it with ease.. I like my eggs over easy.

Thanks Shirley. I understand busy and appreciate you taking the time to respond. If I can lose on that one, I just might do it for the heck of it. Sounds too yummy to be a CD! Hope you can find yourself a little free time.

ohhhhh, that sounds divine! Combine that w/ some caramelized onions and some brie....heaven!!! can you tell i'm dreaming of p3? lol

Good morning ladies!!! GIANT SIGH....of relief! 4.4POUNDS of water retention GONE! I didn't want to take the water pill...but the ankles and feet were swelling! I think i need to have some work done...but not sure WHAT to have done blood work wise....AND i don't have a general physician! Just an obgyn...who i found out yesterday i owe 205$ to for a scan done in December last year! I don't know why my insurance didn't cover more of it! My deductible is 350$ that is a LOT for a relatively healthy single person! I know I will more than likely have a bump up BUT just to have the bloat in my feet gone! I'm going to keep plugging away, eat really clean this weekend, heavy on the diuretic foods (lots of celery, asparagus and cabbage)...though i hear ppl have problems on the cabbage at times! I do like it simmered in water w/ some sambal and meat! Lots of water, lemonade (hcg style!) and acv as soon as my netrition order gets here! I ordered some of the flavor drops...can't remember who was talking about them...but maybe i can forgo the hnh in my coffee if i can get it to taste like a snickerdoodle?

I went over my food logs last round and truly (i know each round can vary greatly) there didn't seem to be any days where anything caused a major blip...other than tom. I had my coffee 90% of the time....so i'm going to try and see if i can pinpoint it this round...and of course tom hasn't shown up now in 4 weeks... lol...i hate having it...but if i KNOW it is there then i can pinpoint why im bloated, not losing etc.

Ok, i'm rambling! Have a fabulous day and i will check back in with ya'll later! my hcg family!!!

Me Too!!! Woohoo! Let's rock this P2, loading 1/2 day today and Saturday and maybe Sunday. Enjoy your Cinco! It's so true about some things working in some rounds its weird how that happens. I never stabilized this p3, but maybe I just noticed it more and it was more of a struggle cause I kept on it until the end?

So yesterdays steak day netted a loss of 1.2, not worth it but I'm proud anyway. I'm all the way in my window this am! But I wont be tomorrow. lol

And I went to my hcg doctor yesterday, the assistants tried to tell me that I hadnt been there for a year and that I needed to pay a "restart fee" and I had to argue with them about the fact that I'd been there in January. Then they said you have to come back once a month and pay us $50, or at least once every 3 months... so I think that I will have to make this round count and try not to ever have to go back at least for a while. Sounds like theyre trying to squeeze every last bit out of the patients. It's better than going to a clinic and paying $500. But I cant afford to keep doing it. So here's my plan... loose this 30 lbs then maintain for a while and find a way to loose an additional 20 which will put me at goal.

Have a great Friday guys! Here's to being skinny! I'm so ready! Looking forward to making the guys drool.

Already there sweetie! I self-treat for thyroid AND adrenal issues! Mwahaaaaa! This will be interesting though. I don't have issues with needles but I'm scared to death that I will screw up and mix it wrong! I've got a friend coming over tomorrow to hold my hand while I do it!

Yay! Thank goodness that the water pill worked. As far as tests go, this is just screaming electrolyte imbalance to me. You talk about reducing salt but if I'd hazard a guess, you need both salt AND potassium. They are responsible for moving water into and out of the cells. If you get tests, have a comprehensive metabolic panel CMP. It will test potassium and sodium along with a host of other things. You are looking for a sodium value of 140+ and a potassium value of 4.0+. In the meantime, get some Celtic sea salt (and as counter intuitive as this sounds) ADD a 1/4t to a couple of big glasses of water during your day. The water should taste minerally but not salty. This does NOT work with regular salt. It needs to be pink himalayan or grey celtic. You might also consider getting some potassium citrate and taking a cap or two.

Once you get your flavors for you coffee, try it without the cream. I didn't think I could do it--but I did!

All right Lara, let's do this THANG!!!!! And I'm sure you already make the guys drool! Me--I gotta do the bikini thing in Mexico at the end of June so this is my window! It probably won't take the whole round to lose down to 140 so I am going to make sure I do it 100% by the book and STICK this &^%$&%$ weight!

Happy Friday all!

Ugh...i hate dr.s BUT I may have to do that! I will call my obgyn today and ask them if they can order the tests...as a pre-diabetes panel or something...that is the only way my insurance will pay for it! State bennies are horrid!
Now, i love me some salt! I can take that celtic sea salt paste it w/ a clove of garlic and eat it RAW! Do you happen to know what numbers i'm looking for daily on my nutrition numbers? I just try to keep sodium down 1/3 below my potassium AND take a potassium supplement every day! So confusing!
Now, you mentioned needing salt. I was using the tony cacharles (?) and
a salt/pepper/oregano mix....i was considering both pretty salty. So i tried to cut back...and i totally watch the braggs now after the fiasco last round! 3 day stall after too much one night!

Lara, that stinks about your Dr. Don't they keep records of when you have been in there?!? And it does sound like they are trying to gouge! Is there another dr in the area that does the hcg???

Lara- So happy you are in your window! Great job!!! It's been a fight for you, but you won!!! Enjoy your loading this weekend, hope this round is the best!

Shelby- Enjoy the loading! You'll be at goal in no time!
Can't think of any better motivation than wearing a bikini in Mexico! Hope this round sticks for you!

Theresa- Glad you are down today! Hope you feel better in your skin! I agree with the testing, maybe it will help get to the bottom of all of this. Shelby is a wealth of info here, she helped me get to the bottom of my thyroid & adrenals last year (after I couldn't stabilize), now I'm self treating too, and stable as a rock!

I'm up .6 today, still 1 below LDW, happy with that! I added wine (1st time) last night, and then got into the nuts. Prob over on calories by about 500, I'll take it since I thought for sure it would be more.

Hope you all have an awesome Friday!
Tonya

Okay Day #1 of P3 and this morning down .9 and starting my morning with scrambled eggs and a pc of NO FLOUR toast. I did some research and found a company that is vegan and kosher friendly made with spelt organic grains and you can find it at Costco. I will have to wait till tomorrow morning to see if this is going to affect me. Just wondering if rice flour is in the same category as the wicked flour products to stay away from this phase?

So another question I have is when I look at the nutrition facts and it says "0 sugar" but then look at the ingredients and notice corn syrup or dextrose or the word sugar is amongst those am I to stay away from products like that or are we more worried about the added sugars??? Friggen industry cant even be honest of what is in the products.

I need to find how many calories I need in a day so I can be healthy and stabalize over the next 21 days. Where can I find an accurate BMI calculator online. I have read somewhere about ****** or something, please advise.

Thank you ladies and happy sunny friday
Jackie

I lost .2 today. I've been eating high fat and protein, no sugar or carbs this round and it fairing so much better for me. Hallelujah! I am still within my LDW. I am thinking I want to go to RXHCG and lose another 35 lbs from here. I am contemplating forking over the money to the doctor to do that. I just don't want to get sucked into being his money tree. I would be glad to get the comprehensive testing that I'll undergo to see where my hormones and metabolic stuff is. My goal is to stabilize for the next two weeks, hoping to go into p4 so I can eat well when we leave for Israel June 15th. I think I may just need to stick with p3 eating as a life style. I think carbs just don't do me well. My body doesn't know how to metabolize them.

Breakfast was: 3 over easy eggs cooked in CO
1 TB shredded cheddar cheese
2 slices no nitrite bacon
1 cup organic strawberries
1/2 c sugar free whipped cream
3 TB hershey's sugar free chocolate syrup
1 cup chai tea with cream

Lunch 4 oz turkey breast
1/2 sour dill pickle
3 slices swiss cheese
3 leaves romaine lettuce
1 TB mayo

Dinner red sauce with ground beef
steamed zucchini
1/2 c shredded parm cheese

jackie, go online and you will find calculators that will help you figure by weight, height, age how many calories you should have to maintain your weight or lose weight.

as for sugar free, usually there's sucralose or xylitol in those products which is either sugar alcohol or like splenda. I do okay with those as long as I don't overdo it. Otherwise I get the runs, especially with the sugar free flavored syrups like they use in coffees.

Hope this helps!

So as far as doctors go...pffft! That's what I say! I order my own tests through md lab tests or econolabs. Right now you can get a CMP for <$20. Order the test, walk into a Labcorp (or wherever they send you), and get your results. MD has a coupon running right now too! As far as the numbers go, I take 1500mg of potassium per day and I probably drink about 1T of salt in my water--right around 2 gallons per day with a 1/2t in each quart. I don't measure by mg or percentages of my daily allowance. I also mix all my own salts--cajun, garlic, seasoned--because regular salt messes me up and I love me some salt! The Celtic sea salt people are making a MINT off me! I would not recommend supplementing more than about 800mg potassium on P2 until you get labs but I would start salting your water. Just add as much as you can without the water tasting too salty. For me that's around 1/2-1 t per quart.

Jackie - NO starches and NO sugars in P3. That includes flours or grains of ANY sort including sprouted or rice. Also no legumes (hummus, garbanzo beans, kidney beans, etc.) or starchy veggies (corn, carrots). No corn syrup or dextrose if you can avoid them. You'll get to be an expert label-reader! I agree that it's a complete PITA but it's only for 3 weeks!

As far as the calculator goes, google "BMR calculator" (BMI is different) and use the first or second one that comes up. You are looking for you basal metabolic rate. Then you need to multiply it by your activity level. The Harris Benedict equation is...

Harris Benedict Formula

To determine your total daily calorie needs, multiply your BMR by the appropriate activity factor, as follows:

If you are sedentary (little or no exercise) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.2
If you are lightly active (light exercise/sports 1-3 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.375
If you are moderatetely active (moderate exercise/sports 3-5 days/week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.55
If you are very active (hard exercise/sports 6-7 days a week) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.725
If you are extra active (very hard exercise/sports & physical job or 2x training) : Calorie-Calculation = BMR x 1.9

shelby, you order your own tests? How do you do that? I am hesitant to spend all this money on doctors who want to gauge me cause I want a script for hcg.

You literally go online to one of the places listed above, order a test and pay for it by credit card, they either mail or email you the requisition, then you make an appointment and walk it into the lab that they use--usually Labcorp. They then email you your results. It's really easy, especially if you are in a decent sized city. There are 4 or 5 places online that you can order blood tests yourself. I usually shop around for the best price. If you google "self-pay blood tests" or "online blood tests" a few will come up. I don't think you can order tests yourself if you live in a few states--NY, NJ, Maryland come to mind--but I am pretty sure Pennsylvania is ok. That is, unless you live in a NJ suburb of Philly!

Hi – been a while since I last posted – maintaining nicely (weighed 126# this morning, but think I will likely bounce back up a couple pounds tomorrow) – P4 hasn’t been “easy” but it’s very doable.

However, I have one big gripe – can I rant a moment?

Back in November I weighed 147#, wore size 10s (they were snug, had a few favorite ones that stretched a bit …) – now I wear a 6, sometimes a 4. My problem? All the criticism I get!

Last night I worked my regular volunteer-stint at the library. I was immediately berated for being “anorexic” – one of the librarians said that she wants to know what I’ve been eating and how much, that I look truly awful. Then another volunteer later told me that losing weight has really aged me, that I’m looking many years older than actual. And on it goes …

Have any of you met with this? This is really disheartening. Yet I get frequent compliments from people who don’t know me, just my so-called co-workers/friends criticize me. (My husband likes my weight loss.)

And I really don’t think I look that old, my face is fairly unwrinkled (I’m 67) – my dermatologist said that my skin is relatively young yet.

Thanks for "listening" to my rant!

That is COMPLETELY horrible, Bonnie! I think you look fantastic! I think a lot of people get used to us heavier and as we get down into "normal" range, they think we should stop. If we continue until we are in "ideal" range (which you are), they start picking at us because THEY will never get there and continually justify that fact to themselves that they SHOULDN'T because it's "unrealistic", or "unhealthy" or that it would "age" them. Well, POOH on them, I say! You know how you look in the mirror better than anyone. You know how you WANT to look! If they are criticizing you, it's because they are 1) jealous and 2) angry that you are showing it CAN be done so they have to excuse themselves by cutting you down. You know YOU. You are fine. THEY are nasty, mean and just all around bad. That's my 2 cents, anyway!

p.s. I am going to be doing (hopefully) my last round starting next week which will really be more of a reshaping/setting a new setpoint round than anything else. Someone told me today that I didn't need to lose any more weight. What I said was that it really isn't about losing the weight, it's about not having to kill myself to stay here!

I did the bmr just for giggles...and it gave me about 300 cals less than what i had got using a different one...i wonder if that may have been part of my problem on p3? I TOTALLY love me some salt...never knew how much till i got off the sugar! But seriously i can paste it w/ garlic and eat it off a spoon!!!

Any idea how to find out if i have issues w eggs? lol... i will WEEP if i do! I love love love eggs! poached w a steak? omgeee!

I am so sorry you are going through this! Mean people are.....just MEAN! I found when i lost a lot of weight before...it was my friends who were the most judgemental...and it stemmed from jealousy! They were used to me being the fat dumpy sidekick...then all of a sudden....yeah...jealous!!! So, ignore them and take it from us and your husband and complete strangers! YOU LOOK AMAZING!

Hey girls!! Just a quick check in!! I'm WAY out of window, but expected that. I've been rather indulgent (early Cinquo celebrating) and "intuitive eating" - can't trust my intuition yet, and I've started back to weight lifting. So, I'm 4lbs above my window, and leaving for vacation on Sunday morning. I'll be at a vball tournament all day (7am-9:30pm) tomorrow, eating out of a cooler all day. So that doesn't lend itself well to a CD. So, I'm just going to LC it as much as possible (vacation usually has some indulgences) and then I'll do several CD's when I get home.

Jealous of you guys who are starting a new round soon. I'm shooting for starting one the end of May now. My bday is 5/26 which seems like the perfect weekend to load!!

Glad you're all doing well!! KUTGW!! I won't be aorund much next week. I'll try to pop in from the hotel. We'll be taking the girl's laptop so they can keep up w. their math for school. Hope you have a fabulous skinny weekend!!

Hey Julie!!!! Have a BLAST!!!! See ya when you get back!

Shelby, is the gray sea salt at william sonoma the same thing? It is rich in potassium which perplexes me since we think of salts being laden w sodium...robbing us of potassium!

I ordered my cmp! it was 26 bucks! Hopefully it will tell me something!

I have a new addiction! CABBAGE simmered w chili paste & my protein! I love how filling it is!

Thanks, everyone, for your kind words ...

I want to post what works for me with maintaining my weight - if my weight manages to get to 132#, I don't do a CD, rather I do my version of JUDD - I eat no breakfast or lunch (other than my early-morning coffee with half-and-half), then I eat supper very sparingly - absolutely no snacks, and nothing after dinner. I might suck on a sugar-free mint if my mouth needs freshening. I do this until my weight is comfortably below 132# again (131.75# doesn't cut it!), then go back to "normal" eating.

So far this is working, I find it easier to cut back on eating than to eat specific foods. I imagine each of us has to experiment to find what works best ...

I am really fearful of gaining my lost-weight back! My big test will be a river-cruise (Nuremberg, Germany to Paris, France) this June - I've never been to Europe and I want to see everything, do everything, and sample their cuisine while there ...

Thank you for the response. I do believe I might gain come morning but it was only 1pc of toast so we will see (fingers crossed).
I need to find some P3 recipes to make this all a little easier cuz when roaming through costco today I noticed my grocery trip took waaaaayy longer than normal picking everything up and reading and putting down feeling like I was never going to find anything else but my P2 foods minus the oranges.

I did buy a can of light tuna?? is that okay? and I thought I read somewhere that we were allowed to have yogurt but every brand I came across had sugar. I need to find that list of safe foods again. I had asparagus today and eggs for breaky, we will see what damage I have caused in the morning.
According to my BMR I have not even consumed half of my calories today so I really need to go look for that list or some recipes.
Have a great night everyone and thanks again. P2 was so easy compared to this phase

Happy Saturday Ladies!

Lara - Enjoy your loading! Hope you have a fantastic round! Just a little jealous here!

Shelby- I hope this round sticks for you! You'll be rocking the bikini in no time! I got that email problem worked out yesterday, apparently someone hijacked my email account but no virus on the computer. Glad it wasn't worse.

Bonnie- You've done so well, and look great! Don't let "ugly" people get you down. I think when they see others set goals, and achieve them, it makes them feel bad about themselves. Then they talk ugly and that makes them feel better b/c they've made your success look like a bad thing. Be proud of what you've accomplished!

Jackie- Welcome to P3! How did you do with the toast?

Adeline- Your doing great!

hhcg lowcarb- how's your round going?

Julie- Hope you have a great vacation! Sorry the scales not being nice. Don't stress over it, you can correct when you get back! Hope your girls win today!

Theresa- how's it going today? Ankles still swelling?
I'm sorry your struggling with this, hope you get it figured out soon!

I'm P4D14 here, had wine again last night, small gain again. 121 today, still .4 below ldw. Gonna skip it for a few days until I'm back to 119.

Hope you all have a great day!
