Why CHEATING does NOT work?

I've been gone a few days and am having a terrible time. I was doing so well that I thought I could go off protocol just for one meal. On Sunday night I ate ham...plain ole ham (prolly 4-5 oz.)...and a few bites of homemade scalloped potatoes...WELL...they did me in!!!! ;( Monday I had .2 gain, Tuesday-1.2 gain, and today a big fat 0!!!! I'm hoping tomorrow nets me a little loss.

I was at 250.4 and was so close to my first mini-goal to be BELOW 250...grrr!!

I see the importance of strict protocal now...I know it's only a pound or so up...BUT unfortunately I don't see it that way...I see it as 3 days of wasted time...kwim? I coulda been down another another pound by now. No more playing around for me.

Just in case someone is wondering what happens...DON'T do it...LOL.

Good advice!! Now you know why Dr S put his food list together--it won't work any other way LOL. A slip like that can set your weight loss back by a week!! Some have reported even no weight loss for 2! Certainly makes you think twice the next time you feel like going off plan. Hard lesson to learn.

I agree. I had the same issue. This round there is absolutely no cheating, it was too much work to have it undone for a few bites of something. Excellent POSTS!

Thank you so much for the reminder! I am committed to doing a clean round, only adding some fat free hnh to my coffee.

It helps that I have an event to go to at the end of May & I wanna surprise people I don't see often.

I have seen this happen so many times. It's just not worth it. I have helped people IRL get started with hcg and always warn them about this. Very few listen and then complain that hcg doesn't work. It's a lesson some people have to learn the hard way. The small amount of food is just not worth the huge setback!

One cheat never hurts my loss. My problem is that one cheat leads to another and another and another. And that definitely works against me!

Yep. It is a slippery slope. P2 is so mental, sometimes that one cheat is all it takes to derail us. If I give myself an inch, I want a mile.

This is my first round of HCG and I have been on VLCD for 40 days and lost 20 lbs. I have stayed on protocol and never once cheated, and have not experienced a gain. I have experienced some stalls however, lasting 4 or 5 days.

I agree that cheating is not worth it on HCG. You can cheat on other diets, but its not worth it on this diet, especially when you spend the money on the hormone, and you are on the diet for such a short time.

Yes indeed! Cheats on the protocol waste time at best and completely undermine hypothalamic healing and weight stabilization down the road, at their very worst. Not worth it at all. I always have to remind myself of that when tempted.

I went off protocol on Sunday and I'm still gaining.

Definitely, definitely, definitely not worth it.
