Getting ready for P3
Any tips? I have about 2 weeks until I start P3 and am nervous. A friend told me to increase my calories over a 3 day period and then eat everything I can except sugar and starches and to go low carb. Any place to read, read, read?

Is cheese going to cause a problem? Should I just go on Atkins Induction? I was thinking about trying JUDDD to keep from gaining. Last edited by gina2328; 04-26-2012 at 04:55 AM.. |

I was also thinking a 3 week Atkins and then slowly add more carbs. I can not wait to have deviled eggs and bacon bacon bacon! I am also so worried about gaining. When did you start HCG Gina?

In it, she has a bunch of tips and lists of P3 foods sorted by types and then byif they should be eaten or not... I liked the lists especially, alot of times she indicated items where foods were Yes, Maybe, No or even NO! and I used them when purchasing foods for P3. Personally, I recommend in the first week hold on having nuts or dairy...just double protein, increase (and mix veggies)...NO Grissini/Melba/Sugars/Starches. Also, I try to avoid most fruit or limiting to 1x/day maximum. I figure I can do it for at least a week and then add in. Now's the time for oils/fats...so butter and coconut oil are good to go. doo a search for cocoa crack and if you go to you tube a gal named Hebbie Dobby has a lemon truffle recipe you might like. I find I have to keep an eye on my scale...and make sure I stay in range on P3. And then continue on P4 to stay in range. Eating out is where you can get into trouble. lots of added salt and sugar in many preps. Do a search for "names for sugar" here...I'm pretty sure I saw the list of all those names of "hidden sugars" (the food industry is very sneaky!!!) Hope this helps! Have a successful P3! Thank you. Just purchased the book for my kindle. I am looking forward to P3 but scared at the same time. I am so daydreaming of low carb for 3 weeks, seriously. I know the weight can come back quickly and I will have to be very very very very very diligant.

![]() I can't express how important it is to ease into some foods. I didn't (took in too much almond/coconut flour, etc.) and I had a terrible time stabilizing. I was definitely a live and learn experience for me. I wouldn't suggest taking in ANY fruit unless you are doing a CD or have moved into P4. I hope it goes great!!! ![]() |

I TOTALLY agree on the dairy and nuts!
I disagree on the fruit. I think keeping in the fruit helps the body stay adjusted to having SOME carbs. I personally stayed with the P2 fruits (except oranges which really aren't my favorites anyway and are the highest sugar) and added more berries. I usually end up with 3 fruits per day--usually 1 apple or grapefruit and 2 servings of berries. The times I've had trouble stabilizing was due to nuts and dairy in the first days of P3, not fruit. |
