Canadiandina, I'm really hoping that it's not a wasted week, too! I don't know about loading, exactly, but by the time I get to the end of the week I hope to have my calories up to a full maintenance level, around 2,000 calories.

I'm a BIG fan of interruptions after stalls. Or even just when you get emotionally done with the 500 cals. I don't load again, personally, when I do the interruption. I just eat p3 and then by day 13 jump back to 500 cals. It's really helped me get through times when I was ready to throw in the towel.

Do you find you get good losses that way? Also, do you keep taking the hcg during P3?

I'm not going to dose. Today is my last dosing day. I'll be doing 500 cal. tomorrow and saturday, then P3 until next Monday.

I do. I find if I drop 18 pounds and then stall I can usually eek out another 7-8 after an interruption. NO DROPS on p3.

OK, so, 14.4 lbs. released in 24 days, today is day 1 w/out pellets. I will eat 500 cals (or as close as possible) today and tomorrow, then start a slow increase. I'm shooting for 1,000 on Sunday, then increase a bit from there. I'll start up the pellets next Saturday (a sort-of loading) then back to P2 that Monday.

Honestly, I was really hoping for more weight released, but I guess I shouldn't complain, it was a bit better than .5/day!! Where else could I do that??!!

What I've learned this time is that 21 days was really the wall as far as releasing goes, so this next P2 I think I will pay close attention and be open to switching to P3 right at 21 days. I was hoping to eek out another week (or more) of releasing, but it seems clear that 3 weeks is about it.

I treated myself to a new pair of cross-trainers yesterday! Wow, shoes are soooooo expensive!! I'm planning on adding 1 or 2 walking sessions to my week, so these were very necessary. The arch of my right foot is quite collapsed, and I supinate (roll out) both feet. If I could afford it, I'd get another pair for work, maybe next month.

Lynne, I hope you enjoy your P3 week! Not shabbing losses for 24 days, either. Especially considering all the MF meals you were using. WTG! Be happy! And you are almost in the 50's so when you begin P2 again, you'll slide right on down the line.

to all the newbies! All are welcome.

I spent the late-morning and early afternoon with my sister and her truck and all my crap. We made three loads over to the duplex and got some delicate things (plants, artwork, etc) moved and stashed away so the movers can't injury them, and also took over one load of firewood. I gave her and her hubby the last of the wood, cause I don't have enough room for all that over there, and I'll only be burning it in an outdoor firepit. No wood-burning FP here.

She (sister) wants to come back again tomorrow to help me once more but I can't keep up with her! I can't pack fast enough. I'm not sure what else we can do tomorrow except take over small kitchen appliances, boxed-up closet shoes and clothes, and maybe two of my upholstered chairs. I'm leaving the heavy, bulky stuff for the movers.

I'm tired yet I have no time to be tired! I have to get back up off this bed and get moving in a forward direction.

Thanks, Jodie! I do drink lots of water. More than anyone else I know. I believe in hydration!

It will be wonderful to be on the other side of this move. I'll still have time to come back into this house and get things ready for the "moving sale." I am just going to allow people to walk through the house and yard and make me an offer on stuff that's left. Whatever furniture doesn't sell for a reasonable price during that sale will get consigned in Southington. I learned of a place that will come pick up the furniture themselves at no charge to the customer.

If they can't sell it in 90 days, then you have to come get it. They keep dropping the price to try and sell it and I think you only get half of what they sell it for. So naturally I'm hoping to sell the pieces myself and avoid all that.

Had a bad sleep eating episode last night. So bad that I am going to focus very strongly on getting off all sleeping (prescription) drugs once I'm settled into my duplex. This is beyond anything acceptable. It has crossed over to the dangerous side. I've never found the stove still on, but it only takes one time. I'm done with this BS! I'm going to learn to sleep like a normal person.

I hope everyone is doing well this fine weekend! I need to get back to packing. Monday will be here soon and so will my sister and her truck! Gotta be ready and utilize her when she's available.

Hugs to all!

So, I weighed exactly the same this morning, and had more hunger today. I ate a little bit more for dinner than yesterday, by about 200 calories. Holding my breath to see what the scale says tomorrow!!

1,050 calories yesterday, up a bit. I'm trying to keep my eye on the big picture, and get plenty of protein and fat. This is nerve wracking!!

GoddessLynne,
I've always done a bit more protein than is "allowed" on protocol for a few reasons. However this round I've been monitoring my urine to make sure I'm not spilling protein (and therefore breaking down muscle) and found that my sweet spot is more like 150g twice a day of protein rather than the 100g. I also have noticed my losses are better if I include both servings of fruit (which I'm notoriously bad at doing.)

I shared on another forum that I did a clinical grand rounds with a doctor who has been offering this protocol for a long time in his clinic. He uses the homeopathic version, but has said he sees great results because he tailors the protocol to the people, rather than just stick the people on the protocol. He assesses several markers weekly via both blood draws and urinalysis.

Anyway, an easy at home thing to do it seems is to use the urinalysis to make sure you're not too far into ketosis (purple) and that you're not spilling protein. If you are, increase dietary protein. If you're above moderate ketosis make sure you're eating all your fruit.

I don't know if that helps anyone, but I've noticed that my hunger often increases when I am spilling protein, meaning I need to eat more. So maybe you're just being super intuitive!

Interesting, circusgirl. Thanks for sharing that with us. What sort of urine sticks are you using? I only have the type that show ketones, not protein. How does the Dr tailor-make the plan for his patients? How much does it vary? Can you share some of your plan with us?

I'm not on any plan right now and I know that I have to get it together but I'm in the final week of packing to move. Movers come on Wednesday, sister's coming again tomorrow with her hubby's truck, other sister offers to help but she works a night job and it throws her off regarding when to sleep, how to fit into other things that arise, etc. It's often just easier to say "thanks anyway" than to try and work out the right time, right day, etc.

Back to dieting. I so very sick of dieting and I think that's why I keep going "off plan" so hard. I am back up 25 lbs from my lowest weight last September. I feel like #@%$!

So, that's where I'm at right now. Aren't you glad I dropped by? I hope y'all are having a lovely weekend.

I order from a medical supply company, but you can find them in most pharmacies too.

He said he generally keeps people between 700 and 900 cals if I remember correctly. He said it was just about always under 1000, but never as low as 500. And he tailors it based on what he sees/how they feel.

Basically he does not want to see people too far into ketosis, and if they are he ups the fruit, or spilling protein, and if they are he ups the protein. Pretty simple, really.

There was discussion about what happens if the hypothalamus starts freaking out and thinking calories were too low (which really starts happening if your body is wasting muscle.) Basically the hypothalamus in order to protect the body will manufacture additional fat cells.

The other part is that if you found yourself spilling a lot of ketones it's not damaging, but it will make it harder to stabilize if you intend to add carbs back at some point. That by spilling anything over moderate amounts can indicate that you're increasing carb sensitivity.

He talked a bit about extended rounds, people that stayed on protocol for a year and had excellent losses, no problems etc. OF course that wasn't with prescription HCG, but with homeopathic.

The rest was clinical information on other forms of support. Basically supplements that can be of assistance based on different presentations. Overall a good presentation!

Wow. I never heard that (parts I put in bold.) Not sure if any of that is actually true but I trust that you trust in the Dr. My Dr doesn't approve of my use of hhcg but he thinks it throws your body into a "forced ketosis." I've tested my urine on a couple of occasions when doing hhcg and it never registered any ketones at all. Sometimes I don't know who or what to believe anymore!

I am starting pack on my pellets (Hahaha! Freudian slip. Meant "back"). Took my first dose last night and second dose a little while ago. Will do a LC round for two months and see how far I can get before my nephew's wedding on June 30th. I'll keep the calories around 1000 or a little under.

Must get "moving" today. Let's start the new weekly thread tonight so we don't have the dreaded Monday morning change-over.

So very interesting about the protein and ketosis. MF supports a mild ketosis, since when OP (for that program) one is around 80-95g. of carb a day. MY rogue hhcg/mf protocol has me at around 50/day, so I'm pretty sure I'm in mild ketosis all the time. In fact, for the last 3 years, with very few exceptions, I've kept myself at less than 100g. of carb.

I'm definitely focusing on more protein these next few days.

However, I'm not eating fruit.

Cheryl, hope the packing continues to go along smoothly!!

well, I suspect the hypothalamus producing fat cells is really more about leptin, which is why some people don't lose during fasts. I do think it's a matter of epigenetics and it's people with thrifty genomes that are more prone to that, but there is evidence to support that. I'm not sure he was conveying it properly. I keep meaning to follow up and clarify because I haven't seen any other evidence that this is the case. It's possible, but I need to see the reference materials. Conventional wisdom says we stop producing fat cells after puberty, but now that we're starting to understand genetics even more that may change....

As far as the carbs? That just makes sense to me. Once you've switched to a higher octane fuel (ketosis) your body is going to be more challenged with carbs. Probably why the JUDDDing works so well, because it's given the body chances all the time to go back and burn fat again. I mean there's a lot more going on there, but I definitely suspect this is quite true. Look at how many people come off LC diets and start gaining like crazy again!

So it's information. I never trust anyone 100% without verifying. I need the proof. But it was an interesting theory.

All very interesting, ladies. Food for thought.

Lynne, I am a packing and cleaning fool. I feel like I'm doing really well and then all of a sudden I just feel like the deeper I go, the more stuff I'm finding. I don't know how I'll ever make it to the other side of this! I never thought I'd be taking as much stuff with me as I'm taking. I don't know where it is all going to go. Well, bunches of it will be going into the attic but I wonder if I'll ever bother unpacking some of these boxes!

I am going to call the power company yet again and push back the date for cut-off. Might do the same with the water company. I'm going to have to have power here next weekend when I will have my best chance at having a good turn-out for the moving sale. Nobody goes to things like that during the week. And I can't afford to have a poor turnout. This stuff needs to go bye-bye!

Lynne, I like what it says in your siggy about being the woman you always dreamed of being. I miss the days when I was of the same opinion. Seems like there is just so much to do and my focus on dieting is just flat-out gone. I hope I can get it back soon.

Sending hugs to all you ladies; even you lurkers! Still wondering what happened to Paula. Melanie, Julie, Mini, Cathy, ????? Come out and play! Just let us know how you are. Melanie, did you tell your hubby you were leaving him yet? Julie, how's the packing going? There's so much going on with our little group!

Good afternoon, folks. I'm down a total of 2 lbs. this week VLC day5), but I really messed up today, so expect a big jump tomorrow. Actually, I might join Mini and not weigh! Nah, I need to know how much to kick myself! Three church meals this week, and I did great on the first two, but today when faced with 30+ dishes at the pot luck luncheon, I just went overboard. I probably ate about half of what I normally would have, but still way too much considering I'm on hCG and trying to lose weight. Plus I had wine at the dinner last night. I figure it will put me back three or four days, but I really can't complain as I did it to myself.

I've adjusted my goal and want to lose a total of 15 lbs. That will put my at the upper end of a normal BMI. I figure it will take two rounds to get that done since I don't seem to lose past the first half of a round, and I've already blown this one to heck and back.

Circusgirl -- Welcome, and thanks for posting the info you did. Very informative.
Welcome to the others who have joined the fray.
Lynne - you will do well on the week's break as you are so motivated.
Cheryl -- moving is a real pain and I feel for you, but I also know when it's over you'll be so much more settled than you have been for the last year+. Good for you for starting back on the diet.

Have a great rest of the weekend. "See" you on the new thread tomorrow.

That's way more temptation than anyone should have to endure! Be proud that you lasted through the first two. I know you can reach your goal of 15 lbs! You're motivated.

I think you are right about being more settled once this is over with. I have been living on pins and needles, never knowing when I'd have to leave this house. And all the apartment hunting I did over the past few years! To finally know where I'm moving to and to know how cheerful and sunny it is helps my soul immensely.

I'm going to hit the hay early tonight. I would like to wake at a decent time so I can prepare for when my sisters arrive at 10. We have a ton of work to do.
