You may want to make it very simple for the 1st week or so. That's what I am doing. I will start changing things around later but did not want introduce many items right away.

Breakfast: black cofee with truvia and 1 lemon Juice
Lunch around 12is pm: Chicken/spinach(salad)/1 apple
Dinner around 5ish pm: Fish/lettuce/strawberries+truvia to sweetten

Plenty of water throughout the day
I make my own salada dressing with red wine vinegar and spices.

That's it! This time around I am doing much better than the 1st round!
I hope this helps a little.

I didn't know celery was a free food. That may helo with my hunger pains I am having today. Here is my days menu...

Breakfast
Coffee
Strawberries(about ten)

Lunch
3.5 oz 93% ground beef with Mrs Dash Garlic Herb Seasoning cooked on grill.
5 tomatoes about the size fo golf balls.(may have been to many?)
1 Melba toast

Supper Will be...
3.5 grilled checken breast
cooked cabbage
1 Melba toast

Snack
Strawberries about ten.

I have had 2cups of hot tea, 1 glass of Crystal Light Peach tea (around 2c)and 3pints of water. Will have more this evening!

Does this sound ok? So can we have the celery anytime we want or do we have to eat it at a meal? I know you can not eat 2 veggies together yet.

How much of the pot of cabbage did you eat? I would feel much fuller if I could have more veggies. But I have done like a 1/2 cup.Because I know that is usually a serving
I just ate my lunch about 30 minutea ago and my tummy still growling!I am drinking water and tea to try to fill it up more.

I have three more hours before evening meal. But it won't kill me. SO I have to tough it out!

I have lost on my load days and I don't really like that.I am thinking I didn't do it right. But no way will I EVER eat that much fat again.I will do a graze all day or make some butter cookies

We will see how my tummy does tonight,It usually doesn't hit me until in the evening after I've went to bed or just before. So far so good though

I think I'll fix my cabbage for supperWish DR. S would have been more specific on the veggies and the amount like he did the meat!

You are doing good girl! I am anxious to weigh in the morning since this is my first VLCD.I'll keep ya posted!
I made a big pot of cabbage but only ate 1 cup..I was reading somewhere that the veg amount is 1 cup or 3.5 oz so thats what I did but not sure if that is right. I have not had any dinner yet..I'm not hungry but I know I should eat. This HHCG stuff really does kill your appetite..gonna have to force myself to eat. I'm anxious to see your loss in the morning too!!!

Today is VLCD#5 for me and I'm down 7 lbs! :-) Love it!
I lost about 36 on my first round and only 10 on my 2nd short round. Then I lost another 10 on my own in P4 from working out, etc. Then we had a death in the family that set me back emotionally and halted all my exercise efforts and I gained 8 in the past month during the insanity. I felt horrible and depressed, so HCG to the rescue!
I'm ready to get down to a new low that I haven't seen since high school....woohoo!
I had a non-scale victory the other night. Went to Old Navy with my daughter and I tried on some shorts in a size I haven't worn since high school as well, so that was cool! :-)

good morning ladies, doing the happy dance here this morning..the scale is being good to me. 150.8 this morning meaning I lost 1.6 on VLCD 2 which means I have lost 6.8 lbs in 2 days OMGGGG now that is including my loading weight so only 3.5 of it is new but WOW that floors me. Waiting patiently to see your results Berta, hope you were able to get to sleep last night without too much hunger.

I wanted to ask, can we have mushrooms as our vegetable on P2?

I am still losing though.......you know, i am afraid to interrupt protocol, man if i do, i don't what will happen -when i start feeling better..dont' know if i'll have the will to return to protocal.............. food i hear you calling my name from the 4 corners.

I did meet my mini goal of 5lb wkly, so that's some consolation

I am terribly behind on this thread. I had a crazy day yesterday Started off at my weigh in I got 4 different numbers on the scale so I just didn't record it. I did not weigh in this morning because I am on steroids and antibiotics. The pharmacist warned that I may see some swelling in my hands and feet with the steroids (oh joy...NOT )
so I may not weigh for a few more days. When I was sick on protocol one time (I have done a few rounds in my past ) I was gaining so I quit the hcg. I figure if you are not losing then you are wasting your time, hcg and money. I suggest as long as you are still seeing losses, then continue on. As long as you don't feel depleted and already have a little appetite, then forge ahead. I hope you feel much better

According to the original plan, celery is NOT a free food. And you are NOT to mix veggies on plan. I would not have it. Why not follow the guidelines as is? That is what works best. I suggest you stick to the original plan!!!

I have been a very bad girl!

Hi ladies,
Well, I have really messed up, it started with going out for Mexican for my fathers bday and has been really bad ever since. The carb cravings have hit me hard. I am up 3#, so it is back to the drawing board for me.
Yikes, guess I will be doing a longer round to get to goal. What a bummer!
Have a great day!

Good morning peeps! Hope the scale is kind to all!

VLCD1 - 182.0, VLCD2 - 179.0, VLCD3 - 178.0, VLCD4 - 176.5, VLCD5 - 176.0, VLCD6 - 175.0, VLCD7 - 174.5, VLCD8 - 174.0, VLCD9 - 173.0, VLCD10-172.5, VLCD11-172.5, VLCD12-173.0, VLCD13-172.0, VLCD14-171.5, VLCD15-171.0, VLCD16-170.5, VLCD17-169.0, VLCD18-167.5

Only 5 more days till eggs, chicken thighs and CHEESE!

Repeating yesterday’s menu actually worked, and I officially am in Virgin Fat Territory! The lowest I got to in WW was 168, and I started gaining the very next day. I never maintained it. By the first week in WW I gained 4 pounds. I never want to do that again! I am so happy learning how to maintain. After this round, because I’m on Rx, I have to wait 12 weeks. That is going to teach me so much about maintenance.

I’m beyond excited, I’m actually in shock.

vlcd 12, down 1 pound this morning, so I got rid of yesterday's gain plus some I was really glad to see the loss, I had a lot of stress yesterday and didn't sleep well after I got up to let the puppy out.

Looks like lots of nice losses this morning, congrats to those of you losing, and HUGS to those of you who STS or were up a bit.

TGIF!!

Sorry you're up Winders, that's why I really try to avoid going out while on P2. I'm a total sucker for Mexican, I was really craving it last Saturday, and I'm sure I would have done just what you did. You know you didn't gain 3 pounds of fat, just eat clean and up the water. Bet it will be gone tomorrow!!

Here is my simplified menu again --I missed the Grissini in my prior post. I found the most tastier grissini in Big Lots (Grissini d'Or --it's called). It is sooo yummy and smells great. Be careful if you tend to be carb addicted (like me) bcz it's so hard to have only one stick

Breakfast: black coffee with truvia and 1 lemon Juice
Lunch around 12is pm: Chicken/spinach(salad)/1 stick grissini/1 apple
Dinner around 5ish pm: Fish/lettuce/6 strawberries+truvia to sweeten

Plenty of water throughout the day
I make my own salad dressing with red wine vinegar and spices.

So far so good! Will see what next week brings

WOE: hCG for loss, JUDDD currently
Start Date: April 25, 2011
Time for me to end my WL journey. I had an appt with my Cardiologist, Dr. William Davis, Author of Wheat Belly (great book by the way), and my Naturalpathic Doctor. I learned that since my last labs which were after round 1 and 47 pounds loss my T3 & Reverse are back in the normal ranges, my cholesterol is perfect.... actually Dr. Davis was SHOCKED about that since he said that most folks when losing weight see very high/weird cholesterol readings. He says my body is responding to the 80 pounds of weight loss beautifully. Next time I see him I want to ask if he sees folks using hcg have better cholesterol labs than others over all of if I'm just a lucky one. My progesterone is still way low, so I'm having to add a bio-available progesterone. My Vitamin D & Iron are still way low. BUT almost everything else has gotten back to "normal" over these past couple rounds. Both Dr.'s think I'm at a really healthy place to stabilize. We hope that as my body further adjusts to this lower weight that my Blood pressure will stop bouncing around, it ranges from normal to just barely high 140/80's is the highest I get now... when I started hcg at 235 pounds my normal BP was 210/110 and I was high cholesterol...high TSH, high T3 & reverse. So, I think I'm ready to be content here.... at 154 and move on. Hubby is at 184 and really happy there. So we will move into phase 3 and plan to do it JUDDD style. I'm continuing with my exercise so if my body drops into the 140's I'd be thrilled... but if not, when factoring in my bone structure (large) and height 5'6" I'm at a normal BMI..... BARELY... but that is ok... I think I'm finally ready to be content here... at least for a while. I feel like I'm in a good mind sent to focus on maintenance eating and finding the right balance for me. I'll be checking in here to cheer you phase 2er's on to success!! So, I didn't make much progress this round with the cheats and exercise... but I'm back at a "normal" place and hope to settle here. I've actually ranged between 154 & 156 for the past 2 weeks so think my body really likes it here! I'm sure I could have dropped lower had I not cheated. I believe my exercise routine helped to make this round a struggle b/c it increased my appetite. BUT I have lost inches and blubber and feel really good about that. So... transitioning into phase 3... bacon & eggs here I come!! We just got 5 pigs, raised on our farm with organic veggies, organic wheat, organic raw skim milk, barley & field peas - corn & soy free, back from the butcher.... hubby and I are SO excited about diving into the bacon, sausage, pork roast... chops... etc!

Happy losses to everyone!!!
Enjoy every minute of it Tiff!! When my DD went to her prom I did her hair myself and we had so much fun preparing / shopping for the dress etc...!! I met with a hairdresser that could not believe I am not one. She said what I did for my DD would easily cost $100.

I saw your stats, do no stress about 1 day stall --you may see a payback the next day with a bigger loss

We just got 5 pigs, raised on our farm with organic veggies, organic wheat, organic raw skim milk, barley & field peas - corn & soy free, back from the butcher.... hubby and I are SO excited about diving into the bacon, sausage, pork roast... chops... etc!
WOW, Shirley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so happy for you!!! What a huge accomplishment!!!! Enjoy the P3 yummies!!!!!!!

On another note, I am down 1.6 this morning!! Happy Friday everyone!!!

Roberta here's the p2 chili Metga originially posted it on the simeone's reciples thread

P2 - Easy Hearty Flavor Chili
Easy Hearty Flavored Chili
100g 95%lean ground beef
160g Hunts Fire Roasted Tomatoes w/ Garlic, or home roasted tomatoes
1/2t chili powder
1/2 t onion powder
1/2 t garlic powder
1/2 t Hershey dark Cocoa powder ( don't leave out, it is crucial)
pinch of salt, and black pepper to taste, and a shake of cayenne for punch!

Add raw beef, onion pwder, garlic pwder, S&P, and cocoa powder to sauce pan and cook till it crumbles easily. I added the juice from the tomatos to help start the heat transfer. Stir in tomatoes and let simmer 5 minutes till hot. Serve with grissini stick crumbled on top or take chomping bites with each spoonful (warning grissini get soggy really quickly)

ETA: the beef. grissini and Tomatoes add 190.8 cal, the garlic and onion powder(1g carb per 1/4 tsp) add 16cal, and cocoa powder add 2 cal(12.5cal/T). On the spices, I went according to the carb, protein and fat numbers not the reported cal. according to that it's 208.8 cal.

Okay I'm tired of bouncing around and playing games, but I am concerned. I'm going away this weekend to our family's cabin for a work weekend. I am taking my food. I need to be brave enough to withstand smelling and seeing other food and not feeling deprived. My husband commented on how he can see the progress. I haven't been sharing the numbers with him cause he is such a numbers person that at times I get more discouraged than encouraged. Rather let him see and feel the results. He's on a special low cholesterol diet so we eat very clean at home. I'll be with 20 other strangers this weekend. I need to be brave enough and willing to eat smaller apples or change up my fruit and even lay off the tomatoes for a while. I need more progress. I'm up .6 oz which discourages me. boo hoo. One thing is this very controlled program gives me peace of not having to make lots of choices which in phase 3 gives me huge problems. I do better with structure, much better and not craving! I want to get down another 11 lbs or maybe 15 so I can have a buffer for phase 3. I have to stabilize before going for our summer vacation in Israel! I was going to make this a short round but it's not looking likely. OH WELL.
