First day of P3...
Today is my first day of P3 round 2. I had cream in my coffee and 2 eggs cooked in coconut oil for breakfast... I have been nauseated since then. I know last time my stomach had trouble readjusting to the fat, but this is so much worse than last time. And I really want the ribs that I had planned for dinner. Any suggestions on how to ease into Phase 3?
Thanks CM:dunno: |
From what I have read, was to start out super slow. Maybe the fat was too high for the first time out. Just keep it at a low range, and see how you do. Many people even try probiotics. But know this, fat is good for us. We need healthy fats. I know when I add mayo, boy do I get nauseated! Just have to cut back, Have u tried avocado yet? What ever u do, do not give up working your way up too a higher fat percentage. A great ratio is P3 is 75% fat, 15% carb, 15% protein. And use ****** or something to calculate your ratios.
And as a precaution, try cheese at a slow rate. I do well with cream cheese actually but not regular cheese. My favorite chocolate food item is chocolate, coconut brownies. A wonderful brownie, high fat, low carb desert for P3. And um, sometimes to eat for P2!~ eta...p3 for me is like P2 but slowly adding fats. Pork is not until about 5 days later. FYI:) |
Thank you for your suggestions! I think starting slow is going to be my answer. I will have to change my idea for today, because it involved mayo! LOL
I was shooting for the suggested calorie count for the day, and I barely made it to 1,000. I will take it slow and work my way up! And PS... I would love the Coconut brownie recipe! I will go and search the recipe board for them!!!! |
Yes, fats are REALLY GOOD for us. :) I loved the P3 phase; was so happy to get heavy whipping cream back in my coffee:yummy: Stay strong and follow the diet to the letter! Success will be yours if you do:high5:

I usually start taking probiotics 2 weeks before hitting P3...it really helps!
I start off crazy with HWC, butter, eggs, bacon, then steak for dinner and avocado...lol...and yes my tummy gets upset, I consider it a cleanse LOL!! But the probiotics helps so I don't get the icky bloating :) |
If you have a digestive enzyme it might help your tummy. There are many on the market, just look for one that has lipase as that specifically helps in the digesting of fats.

You might want to add some no sugar/no salt salsa or some other veggie with your eggs. I also made a crock pot recipe with trimmed raddishes and quartered onions underneath a chuck roast. Then I would have some for breakfast as well as other meals. Hang in there, |
I know this is old and the OP is well into P3 now, but I agree with the probiotics. I use them when I transition to P3 and it really helps with the digestion. I highly recommend them for anyone who is going into P3. Remember while in P2, we are not forcing the body to digest fats, and it digests minimal protein. So your organs that do the digestion are somewhat sleepy. When you start P3 they have to "wake up" and work all of a sudden. It for sure is an adjustment, but doesn't take very long!

Thanks everyone.... I am getting used to the fats again. Does anyone have any specific recommendations for probiotics or digestive enzymes. And are there any other things that I should be taking in P3 other than a good multi vitamin?
Thanks! CM |
