Broths
Hello all. This is my first posting and my first round of hcG. So yes I am new to this. I am on my 11th day of vlcd and am finding the meals to be quite monotonus. I looked up a few recipes and tried to make my own broth, but found it too time consuming and not tasty. Can anyone tell me if it is okay to use store bought broth. I purchased organic with no sugar in the ingredients list. I am interested to see if it is okay on p2 or if I should skip it. Thanks for your help.

IMO....if it helped to stay on plan, I would use it. I think the damage it would cause would be minimal at best. Sodium issues is what comes to mind for me.
Everybody is different. Strict protocal/rogue.... I did my first P2 rounds ABSOLUTELY by the book last year. Now, I use a lot of we products....and some are good, some are LOLYou just have to test the waters JAN Last edited by wishbone; 04-13-2012 at 12:38 PM.. Reason: sp |

Just watch for sugars and starch. Many have various starches added to them. Many also have veggies added to the meat/bones to enhance flavor which can increase the carbs/sugars. So look for the one with the lowest sugar/carbs, no starch and lower sodium I've read of many that struggle with them b/c of the sodium.. causes water retention! Have a FABULOUS round!!

I've used store bough broths (fat free) all 3 rounds. I use them daily and have had very successful rounds. I just buy the least expensive, lowest calorie ones. I shop at Aldi, where there brands are only 10 calories per cup, and I use 2 cups each day. It helps me tremendously! Of course, I'm not close to goal where it can become more and more difficult.
Good luck! |
