Long vs. Short rounds...
I am fairly new to HCG. I'm hoping someone can help me. I am on R1 P2 D22...I'm haven't decided how long I am going to stay yet...was thinking 40. I lost a LOT during the first 2 weeks or so...and now it can be 0, -.2, -.8, +.2, etc. I'm OK with that...still a heck of a lot faster than LC by itself.
Soooo...my question is this: would I be better off doing smaller rounds/less days...so that I'm much quicker to starting another round? I would have a lot more BIG losses, right? I still have quite a bit to lose...roughly 80-90 lbs. I would like to lose it ASAP...then use the longer rounds when I'm closer to my goal, etc. OR....is my thinking totally wrong? What are your experiences? Thanks~Angela in TX 275.2/257.8/170ish |
I find longer rounds are psychologically challenging, especially on a protocol where error is such a serious issue. I was originally a fan of doing longer rounds but after going for 40 days and doing a shorter round this time I have done a 180 on what I recommend. For me it isn't about how much is lost, I don't believe the time is that disparate between long and short rounds when it comes to losses, but rather what is the maximum amount of days I can stay on protocol, perfectly, without too much physical or mental fatigue. For me that range is in the 20-39 effective dose range, not the 40-50 I did before.
It is very individual. |
TY Arctic Mama for replying.
I am on D23 so far, -18 lbs. I'm thinking I will prolly go 30...and I was also thinking about going until I hit -25 lbs. But, as slow as I'm losing...it will prolly be 40 days anyway...lol. I have noticed a pattern...I have to use "help" for having a BM. On the days that I have not gone...I lose 0, -.2, +.2, etc. BUT...I lose .8 or 1 lb. each BM day...so I really think it has to do with me being, excuse the phrase..."piled up". <sigh!> I'm not sure if I should use "help" every day, or just use it every few days... Again, thanks! I would love to hear if anyone else has any experience/opinions about long & short rounds :) |
I had a typo - I meant 20-30 effective doses, not 39 :)

I've done both and I agree with Taryl, shorter rounds are better for me. I have to lose 50 more pounds (I'm down 56), but I enjoy the short round, then maintaining. I'm learning a lot during maintenance too. I feel I can be perfect for shorter round, and the last 2 weeks on the longer round just didn't net the results I wanted for the energy, money, and time investment.
Great losses girl! WTG! |
My body wants to do a long round but my brain says no. I did a long round the first time and the last 2 weeks didn't produce huge losses. At that time, I had the support of several coworkers using HCG...I do not have that now. I think I'm going to do 30 days and then do another round in 6-8 weeks. I need to lose 50-60 pounds and my goal is to do it by November 1st.
Good luck whatever you decide! |
