Starting P2 again 4/10/12~ anyone else?

It would be nice to go on this journey with others. It helps keep me accountable and makes me check in everyday.

Loaded Sunday and Monday. Starting P2 on Tuesday. I did P2 in Feb/Mar of this year and lost almost 20 lbs. Started P3 then went on a cruise and gained 8 pounds back.(I was a bad, bad girl) So now I want to go back to P2 and do P3 and P4 the right way.

My DH is doing this along with me and he may just drive me nuts with all his questions and comments. He doesn't dose properly, he doesn't eat enough, he runs at high speeds and long distances but then complains that he is dizzy... He asks me what he can eat when the list is on the fridge, etc...
See what I am up against. I hope to come here for some peace of mind.

Come one, come all. Newbies, oldbies, and anyone else who wants to chat.

Hi Dawn!

It will be great to do our FINAL round together. This is it for me. 21 days of torture and then I am never going back again! I have to be in this state of mind to be successful for the next 3 weeks. I know you are very close to goal.
We have to do this!!! We need to get off this rollercoaster so our bodies can recover and function correctly. No more junk is my new motto!

Here is my basic menu that seems to work for me:
Lean burgers, apples, grapefruit, salad, shrimp and steak on occasion.

What does your menu look like?

Donna--you are so right. I have to have this be my last time. I cannot do this forever!! Heck, I don't want to do this forever!!! I want to be done, once and for all.

My menus are going to look like this: chicken and lettuce for lunch (I eat at work every weekday at Chick Fil A) with an apple if I need it. Then for dinner, either fish or crab meat (I have a bunch of these proteins!!) with tomatoes (in the can they don't go bad as the other veggies do!). I also have some asparagus--had that last night. I get them frozen so that they don't go bad either. For my second fruit is either grapefruit or strawberries at night time. That is what I rely on. The asparagus is really good for water retention and I learned through Dr Oz that tomatoes are a good diuretic. I think that is why Dr S chose his list of veggies. I won't veer from them this round. Like you said this is it and I want to do it just like I did my first---by the book.

Good luck!!! I am down 2.4 pounds today.

Hi

Any chance you can join us on the weekly P2 thread? Or will this be your personal thread? Would love to support you, but I find I can't write on a whole bunch of threads daily.

I have nine more days on P2. It's a struggle - but I'm hanging in there. Glad to have you with us. :-)

Today is Load Day 1 of my very first round. I would love to join in, and I am sure I will have a bunch of questions along the way. I am starting out today with high fat, low carb hoping to detox from the sugar a little before VLC.

I'd love to join y'all. This is also my final round. I did P2 R1 in Oct. and it's taking me this long to get motivated again to lose 10 pounds!
We can do this!
Good luck!
Today my menu will be coffee, an apple for breakfast, salad with either tuna or grilled chcken for lunch and talapia and asparagus for dinner.

WOWSA!!! 2.4 is awesome! I hope to have a tremendous loss tomorrow after my huge load!
Tell me about your crab meat, please! Do you buy imitation crab or have crab legs? I love crab but hate the work. It scares me a bit since it is so salty.
I your menu. Good luck! STAY STRONG!

RSJ!! Thank you for the invite but I really do like to have people along with me that are on the same time frame. It really helps with my state of mind. Congrats to you on being almost done. Are you losing like you thought you would? Is this your last round or are you just beginning? Going rogue or staying on protocol? Any helpful hints? Please feel free to come over and comment anytime.

Dawn!!! Ask any questions you want. Dawnyama or myself can probably answer them. We've been through this a few times. Are you using pellets, drops or RX? Are you doing 2 load days? Enjoy your fat and good carbs today... I am jealous! (as I eat my apple down to the seeds)
Can't wait to start seeing the scale move! HCG is amazing! I hate to feel hungry on diets and on HCG, I have never had hunger. I've wanted to eat stuff because it was there but not due to hunger. WE CAN ALL DO THIS!!! Anyone can do anything for 21 days, right?

WBT!!! This is the reason I am jumping back in because if I wait any longer, I won't remember the thrill I got from seeing the pounds come off and I will get back into my comfy mode again. Your menu looks yummy.
I tend to live off burgers once a day during P2. It has never hurt me. I may try to make the P2 chili this round.

Alright Ladies!!! Let's give this everything we've got! My next 3 weeks are super busy so I hope that helps instead of hinders me. No fast food just because I don't have time to cook. I will find time to plan and cook!

LET'S DO THIS!!!:jumpjo y:

Thanks for the welcome. I am doing 2 load days. I am using drops I ordered from netrition. I am already thinking I might like the pellets better next time around.

One question I have is about how long you are supposed to wait until you swallow. I am waiting as long as I can, not sure if this is necessary or not.

So what is going on today ladies???

Lost my load weight of 2.8 pounds WOO HOO!!!

Hoping for the same success tomorrow.

Are you still being strong?

I got the worst headache this morning. Trying to drink more water to get rid of it.

Dawn- I did the drops last year and just let them sit under my tongue for about 3-5 minutes. Don't eat or drink or brush teeth for at least 15 minutes before or after you dose.

Just ate my apple and getting ready for a burger and salad.

What are you eating today?

My normal is half grapefruit in morning. Spinach or romaine with chicken breast made on George Foreman. Then in evening either another portion of tiny filet mignon or chicken breast, and maybe a bit of asparagus. Maybe an apple before bed, maybe not. And I avoid the bread unless I'm having a really hungry episode.

This is P2VLCD14 and my total loss so far is 6.

AND I WANT A BEER, A BURGER, AND SOME CHOCOLATE

Okay - I'm refocusing. Refocusing.

I hear you! My hunger is still not under control 100% probably because I loaded with crap instead of low carb. You have done very well. You are almost at .5 lbs a day. I skip the grissini too. Not worth it to me and I feel like I crave more bread after it.

Have any of you tried any P2 recipes?

Here I am at Day 3 of P2. Down another 1.6! WOO HOO!!! Hoping the scale will keep going down, down, down! I have another 4 pounds to go to get to where I was last month before I went on my cruise. I can't believe I gained 8 lbs in 1 week but I also just ate whatever I wanted so I guess I deserve the gain.
Hoping I can get to that goal by Monday! Then it is on.

What is your ultimate weight loss goal?

I'd be thrilled at 125-130. So that means I am 22-27 lbs from goal. Yikes!

Menu for today:

grilled steak with salad
apple

grilled chicken
salad or tomato
grapefruit

Last night was yummy. I mixed up some ground beef and onion. Funny how that seems good to me now but I would have never eaten that normally.

Today is day 1 of VLCD. I think I have prepared myself for success. This is round 1 for me, so I am a complete newbie to the process.
I think I loaded well. I had been eating crap and way too much of it for weeks, so I went lowish carb/no grains and high fat/high calorie. I hope it works for me.

I know I have several days that are going to be extra challenging, so I am trying to prepare for those, any input on how to get through them would be appreciated. Two come this week. Tomorrow, I have a field trip with my youngest. I need to figure out what to take for a bag lunch that I may not be able to keep cold. Saturday I have a crazy busy day with Soccer, two kid birthdays and an adult birthday dinner. I think I can get through the day, but worried about the evening meal at a mexican restaurant.

I am totally hungry!!!!! Any tips to help me make it to lunch??? I remember that this should pass by day 3-4, but it's no fun right now. I have chicken soup with cabbage on the stove and it smells soooo good.

You can take tuna in a the pouch bag, some cucumbers, or celery and a fruit if necessary. At the mexican restaurant you can order a grilled chicken salad, use salsa for dressing. You can eat some protein before hand, maybe a hard boiled egg? hth

When that happens to me, I drink an enormous, (like 20 ounces) glass of water with a few drops of lemon. Is it apple time yet? Is your dosage of HCG enough? You shouldn't be hungry!

2nd Day VLC

Hi Friends,

I am so grateful that you are here posting and are such a wonderful support that I can join with you on this journey. I have been doing HCG rounds for more than a year now. But after 2 rounds, I seemed to fail at the resetting metabolism and Phase 3 and 4. I felt crazed with cravings for sugar and carbs. I'm determined to make this one stick as I have gone up and done 20 lbs 3 times. I used to weight 300 lbs and I'm only 5'2". I never wanna go back there again. Emotionally I found that every 10 lbs I lost below 200 lbs was a breakthru and there was a fear of just becoming a sagging bag of skin. I became a widow 3 years ago while already on my weight loss journey, and in my head I heard a voice. "Who would want you". I thought if I didn't have a model like body, like those portrayed by the media, no one would ever want me. Well. . . I've since remarried a wonderful man, who loves me and even enjoys finds my imperfections endearing. I got down as low as 155 but I'd look in the mirror and would see myself as older looking and my face drawn, which scared me. Maybe this is an excuse but I gave myself permission to gain 25 lbs back.

I started this round after 2 good load days and today 04-12-12 I'm on day 2 of this VLC phase 2 round. I was at 180 and now I'm down to 176.6.

Any input or encouraging words to help keep what I'm working so hard for would be wonderfully welcome. I want to fit back into my summer clothes and we are taking a trip overseas and I want to feel good doing that.

I am on P2VLCD7, and am almost back to my last round weight. I stupidly gained 9 pounds on my month off, and am working on it. Almost there - won't do that again! By the time my month off was over I was actually craving the salads and foods on this diet! Am planning on trying my best to make it a way of life! Hard to get the family on board though!

Can anyone tell me about the apple thing? It seems to be an important topic, I just wondered what it was all about?

This is just such a positive atmosphere, I know we can all do this!

You can do this Dawn!! How are you doing so far? hanging in there? If you plan for success, you will have success. I've had my parents here since Thursday (hence the reason I haven't posted) and trying tp get them to eat healthy is a huge feat! Trying to stay on plan but not cook entirely different meals was a hassle this weekend but I did it. Just like you can!!!

Sometimes I cut my apple or orange in half and eat half for breakfast so at least I have something in my stomach. Broth is good too or tea. I drink a Diet Pepsi for breakfast but I know that is not protocol. I don't like coffee or tea though.

Please check in... how are you doing???

WOW!! You've been through a lot but you have done so well. Keep doing what you are doing and the pounds will come off. I just went on a cruise after my last P2 and it really motivated me to do well for those 26 days. Keep those vacations in your head and also what you want to look like, that will motivate you... just keep posting and that really helps to keep you focused!

I believe the apple thing is just because we can have apples. I did low carb for a long time and apples were a no-no. I think people like the fact that they can nibble on an apple for a long time. It helps satisfy us. You are right, we can ALL do this!!! We just need to keep each other accountable!

It is wonderful to see the pounds go down every day on the scale. When you want to give up is when the scale goes down a little bit more and makes you re-focus once again. GOOD LUCK!!! Keep us updated!

So on Tuesday, after load, I weighed in at 157.2. Today I am 150.8. I am super excited even after a very long weekend with my parents. I am hungrier than last P2 but I think there was some hidden sugars in some dressing I had the other day. Tomorrow will be much better.

What is going on with everyone else? Tell me how good you are all doing!

SNIP

During my first round, I bought L-Glutamine on the recommendation of someone I knew who has lost 80 lbs oin hCG and maintained it for over 3 years!) (L-Glutamine is an amino acid--I bought the 500 mg version, and if I was hungry (especially for carbs) I would open one of the capsules and let it dissolve under my tongue. It was a tiny bit bitter but after dissolving I waited a few minutes before drinking anything.

For me, this took the screaming crazies away... I'd recommend buying a small bottle and testing it out... If you can get through the carbs screaming your name, you CAN make it through the rest of P2 AND P3 AND P4, resetting your metabolism!

So far so good. I am on VLCD5 and I have lost 6 pounds from my first VLCD. I find that I am hungry sometimes, but I have been drinking a cup of hot tea or a glass of water and usually it passes.
I did very well on the field trip, packed my lunch (chopped up chicken breast, a bag of cucumber slices and an apple, plenty of water to drink.
Saturday was a great day as well, not 100% strict protocol, but I am ok with that. I made it through soccer, came home and ate the lunch I had already weighed out. Then off to the birthday parties (2 in 1). I helped serve the food and cupcakes, and clean up, and I was fine. All I had while I was there was a bottle of water. I was not hungry, and felt fine.
The evening dinner I knew would be more of a challenge, but I did great. I had a chicken fajita salad ordered with no dressing. I ate the chicken and some of the lettuce. I did purchase a light dressing and carried it in my purse. 30 calories for 2 tbsp I was ok with that. It made the salad a lot more palatable. I felt a little weird, but my friends were supportive. I just told them I was trying to be really good, no more info needed. I did not eat any chips and drank water with lemon to avoid the possibility of being served sweet tea by accident. There was a DJ at this mexican restaurant, and we sang and talked and laughed, and eventually even danced a little bit. All in all, it was a great night.
I am struggling a little bit with the wanting to eat out of habit. I am definitely an emotional eater, and am really trying to change that pattern. Someone else here (can't remember who, maybe Dawnyama) was reading a book, Weight Loss Apocalypse, that sounded interesting, so I got it. So far, while it isn't necessarily going to resolve my issues, I find the book interesting and helpful. That should probably be a whole different thread though.
So, that is how my weekend went. I hope everyone else is doing well.
Oh, I almost forgot, Do you continue to take the hcg during your cycle? I read somewhere that you stop, but not sure about that.

GREAT JOB Dawn!!! I hope I am as successful as you when I go to Bunco this Friday!!!

Most people keep dosing through TOM. I think it is only through the Rx that some people stop.

I am up a little this morning. My scale is whacked. I usually weigh twice and yesterday I was down a pound and today I'm up. Usually I take the first reading but they were all over the place. Waiting for tomorrow to see what is going on.

Dawn-You are doing great!!!!

Scale went up .6 this am. I think I really need to watch my salt intake. That seems to be my biggest problem. Can you all post some of your typical menus? Looking for new ideas.
Thanks!
Have a great Tuesday!

This is sooo what I need. I am struggling right now. Cannot even last a day on P2 anymore. I have stopped the drops since last week since I was going out of town for the weekend and had a meetup with a couple of ladies on this forum. We had a great time!!! Here is the thread where I posted pics:

I met 2 HCGers!!!!

Anyhow, when I was going to start back up TOM started. So I decided to start dosing once TOM is gone. Should be only another day or so. But I just cannot handle the cravings. I will get some l-glut ASAP!! Thanks for suggesting it!

Dawn, I LOVE L-glut.. I use it during TOM and when the carby monsters are threatening to close in on me.. I usually feel better within 15-20 min of that powder dissolving under my tongue. HTH!!

Hi Lil Donna... how long do you think this round will be??

I cycled back into phase 2.. started right around when you did and will end around May 6.. depending on when TOM leaves. This round has been GREAT so far! I have super energy and am only hungry around meal times. PLUS, I'm maintaining my exercise routine... seeing the fat leave and realizing I've got muscles under there that are shaping up nicely is REALLY encouraging. I am not weighing daily because the first 10 days were tough with lots of bouncing around weights, I think it is b/c I'm exercising. The bouncing led me to tears and about 4 days where I was OP.. not binging.. just OP... finally I asked hubby to take the scale away until I was done with VLCD. THEN, he decided to join me on this round and he brought the wicked scale back in for a weekly weigh in... and of course I could not stay off. I had braced myself to not see much of a loss.. especially after cheating.. but I was thrilled to see 154.4. My post load weight was 165. So the first 13 days gave me a total loss of 10.6, not bad for cheating AND exercising!! I'm hoping to end this round in the low 140's. The cursed scale has been banned from the house until next week and I'm totally into VLCDing and exercising.. I even chose to increase my exercise routine this week and feel AWESOME!! I actually look better at 154 than I did at the end of my last round when I hit 146.

My phase 3 plan is WAY different than the last couple rounds so I'm hoping it will allow me to stabilize better... but we'll talk more about that when we are close to transitioning hey??? Gotta keep our heads in the VLCD game totally so optimal shrinkage will happen!!
