Hi Lil Donna... how long do you think this round will be??

I cycled back into phase 2.. started right around when you did and will end around May 6.. depending on when TOM leaves. This round has been GREAT so far! I have super energy and am only hungry around meal times. PLUS, I'm maintaining my exercise routine... seeing the fat leave and realizing I've got muscles under there that are shaping up nicely is REALLY encouraging. I am not weighing daily because the first 10 days were tough with lots of bouncing around weights, I think it is b/c I'm exercising. The bouncing led me to tears and about 4 days where I was OP.. not binging.. just OP... finally I asked hubby to take the scale away until I was done with VLCD. THEN, he decided to join me on this round and he brought the wicked scale back in for a weekly weigh in... and of course I could not stay off. I had braced myself to not see much of a loss.. especially after cheating.. but I was thrilled to see 154.4. My post load weight was 165. So the first 13 days gave me a total loss of 10.6, not bad for cheating AND exercising!! I'm hoping to end this round in the low 140's. The cursed scale has been banned from the house until next week and I'm totally into VLCDing and exercising.. I even chose to increase my exercise routine this week and feel AWESOME!! I actually look better at 154 than I did at the end of my last round when I hit 146.

My phase 3 plan is WAY different than the last couple rounds so I'm hoping it will allow me to stabilize better... but we'll talk more about that when we are close to transitioning hey??? Gotta keep our heads in the VLCD game totally so optimal shrinkage will happen!!
Hi Shirley,

WOW! You have just done a tremendous job!!! The scale is being mean to me too but I must say I am not following strict protocol like last time and it is killing me weight wise. I have been the same weight now for 4 days!!! I can not budge off of 151.0. I am blaming it all on DH! He wanted to do this round with me and I knew from the get-go there would be problems because he is not strict but he runs so any extra calories falls off of him plus he's a guy!
We have gone out every day for lunch this week since he is off. It is totally screwing with my head as I have no idea how many actual calories are in the food the restaurant serves.

As far as this round, I may be on much much longer than 21 days so join in whenever you can. I think I will call this week a wash and just try to do my best. Hope we can both find our focus soon!

I found L-glutaminine in my cabinet so I will definitely add that in today too!

Good Luck everyone!!! sorry I haven't been posting but with DH home, life has been crazier than usual. Next week I may have jury duty so that may interfere with me posting also.

Keep posting! I am still here reading and being inspired to keep moving forward!

We have to do this!!! We need to get off this rollercoaster so our bodies can recover and function correctly. No more junk is my new motto!

Here is my basic menu that seems to work for me:
Lean burgers, apples, grapefruit, salad, shrimp and steak on occasion.

What does your menu look like?
May I join you ladies too? I am a bit behind as I don't start until Tuesday the
24th but would like to join you gals if I may?

We can do this!
Good luck!
Today my menu will be coffee, an apple for breakfast, salad with either tuna or grilled chcken for lunch and talapia and asparagus for dinner.

I may be wrong and I am not that educated about this plan because I haven't even started yet.But I have been reading, reading & reading all week.I THOUGHT I understood that we were to have nothing but coffe or tea for breakast? Am I wrong?

Berta, Dr. Simeons says we can divide up the allotted food however we want.

Some do a fruit for breakfast (one of the 2 allowed ) with a starch (one of the two allowed), some only do coffee or tea for breakfast. You can do whatever works best for you but you must follow the guidelines of 2 protein, 2 starch, 2 fruit, & 2 veggies.... AND you cannot eat any 2 of the same group at one time.

VLCD starts tomorrow. I am mentally prepared, even excited, hoping my willpower cooperates!

I am SO VERY HAPPY TO HEAR THAT Because being Diabetic2 I am use to having breakfast. That is my FAVORITE meal. However my menu will have to change for 40 days

Be very, very, VERY careful with diabetes meds while on the VLCD portion of HCG. The first time I did this in 2009 I was not taking any medication (non-compliant) but during VLCD my blood sugars were completely normal.

Had I kept the weight off and followed directions, I would probably not be taking 3 oral meds per day. Sigh.

Berta, those with blood sugar issues often divide up the proteins too so that blood sugar levels stay more consistent. They usually take their 2 3.5 ounce portions of meat and after they are cooked divide them up into a total of 4 servings.

Then in the morning, have 1/2 of a protein with a fruit or starch... at lunch 1/2 protein with veggie, snack 1/2 protein serving with fruit or starch, dinner 1/2 protein with veggie....by doing this you are eating every 3 hours or so and may have better luck keeping your BS more consistent. Some with Type 2 find that eating the fruit & starch without the protein can be problematic. You'll have to experiment and see what works best for you.

Thank You Ladies
I will keep this in mind. I will be checking my Blood sugars more often and if they get to low I will go to the Dr and see if he can just take me off completely.I would love that! It may also help with being hungry.
My blood sugars have been way to high lately!
And I DO NOT want to start taking insulin
