Went to a ballet fundraiser tonight and wore an old dress that fits again. I came so close to getting rid of my Shelly Segal dresses because I really didn't think I'd ever be able to wear them again. I have a 'thing' for Segal's "Laundry" label and have 3 of her dresses that are this size that I can wear again. I also have a really nice Maggy London dress that I'm trying to decide if I'm too old to wear. It fits great and is a beautiful line, but I might post a pic and see if you ladies think it is ill-advised for a 53 year old broad

Beautiful dress, Diva!! As for the Maggy London, I say, if the dress fits, wear it!! LOL!!

I couldn't possibly eat another bite, so I will call myself well-loaded. 10 more minutes and I'll take my last dose of the day. I'm a little nervous about next week!! I need to fix my current sensations in my brain, to call on if I get hungry!!

nerves are normal! In that first week-ten days, work hard to discriminate between real hunger and 'head hunger'. Water/coffee/tea help if it's 'head hunger'...they don't if you're really hungry. If real hunger rears its ugly head, ask for help. Many wise people here can talk you through adjusting doses and other techniques. I truly never was hungry except when it was time to eat...but a couple bites in I was fine. If you don't have that experience, don't be quiet about it. You will do great. Nervousness is kind of a great thing, really...it means you're serious and ready to go to work. This isn't easy, but it's not that hard either. It also works. And you can do anything that actually works! We're here for you. GO AFTER IT!!!

Hi Guys!!

Crazy busy weekend!! Not the best one ever, but I did get some good family time. I even did my first day of C25K tonight. Dh ran with me and the girls rode their bikes allong. It was a fun way to round out the weekend.

Deb-thanks for sharing your bio . Impressive!! How neat you're so active in the ballet and music scene. Must keep you busy!! I'm a singer too, although not opera. I'm afirst or 2nd soprano and sing in our church's praise band. Aside from that, and the rare wedding, I don't get to sing much anymore. You've done well eductaing your children, and before it was as mainstream as it is now I may have some questions for you. My older dd is starting Jr High and I'm not quite sure what I'm doing . And, not sure if that dress in the picture is the one you're wondering about, but you look beautiful. Lovely and glowing!!

Cheryl-thanks for getting us started!! Hope you had a good weekend.

Brigit- stalls stink!! They're totally normal and hopefully will mean you're in for some good losses next week. Is this an old set point for you?

Stacey- Way to go!! You did it!! So impressive!!

Lynne-good to see you. You're so right, try to remember this stuffed uncomfortable feeling!! Hope you have a great round!!

I'm definitely coming in a bit higher on carbs today. My protein, fat and carb grams are all almost the same!! I am prepared for a CD if I need it. I was pretty far below LDW on Friday morning, so Sat. I had some indulgences, and today I was o.4 below LDW, so I indulged again. . This is fun .

I also started back to exercise tonight, no fooling . I hope to get some weights in later too. Only 2 more days to "run" this week. I can't say I feel good, but I'm really glad it's done . Nite!!

Julie, cool that you sing! Jessica (verbqueen) does a fair amount of singing as well, and directs children's choirs at her church. There is a nice little musical community here!

Ask away with homeschool questions. There is so much great curricula and resources available for that age. So many people doing it, as well...there are often great networking opportunities for 'special' classes through your local home-schooling association. I got out of Chemistry for all three kids because a lady on the other side of my little town was a chemical engineer. She taught everybody's kids chemistry two afternoons a week (her kitchen was the lab space...*excellent*!!!) and I taught music and French. We have a really good association here. Lots of sports teams (my middle kid played home-school ball and won three consecutive National Championships in high school which led to her full scholarships to play basketball in college), debate teams, choirs, orchestras, drama groups, science and math clubs, etc. Anything a kid could be interested in, it seemed, somebody had figured out a way to organize a group and pursue those interests.

Hi ladies!

Well, no weigh in today --and not really a fat fast either, though the proportions were right, I came in a little high on calories I think. I also did a lot of lifting and moving of heavy objects though, so I think it was probably fine.

I also had almost no hunger and good endurance and energy, which was really the main point given the demands of the day.

I'll try to keep tomorrow's calories low, low, low, and probably stick to mostly protein.

I think I am gaining muscle. I seem to be stronger by the day, and my muscles are getting very defined, even in my legs. I haven't been in the gym in months, but all the recent moving of things and hauling of molds and such seems to be buffing me up quite a bit.

All things considered, I really can't complain -- though now I would love to drop the last few pounds of fat.

good morning!

back on track. being in the hospital (fri-sat) with noah always derails me...but, i'm not going to let it get to me.

down a pound this morning. (i had only gone up 1.4 from being in the hospital, so that's a plus, just 0.4 from friday morning's weight). but still am not to my low this round...1 lb from that. LDW (day 21) is april 9. i hope to get a lot accomplished by then.

Morning all!

Diva, you look fantastic!! I agree, if you can still wear the dress, then do so with pride!!

Julie, great job on the running!! Nice to have DH do it with you! Once you get going with the program, you'll want to keep going. WTG!!

Mini, glad to see you, even if in little bits. I miss your back to back posts, but I understand you are busy! You are just missed!

I didn't weigh this morning. Was up with my 7yo DD. This time I think she does have strep. Her fever was up to 103.2 early this morning. We are headed to the dr around 10. And this is the first day of Spring Break for them. BOO!!

I ate way too much yesterday and am thinking of keeping it simple with eggs and meat. Will be dying eggs with the kids, so I will have plenty to eat.

Off to workout! Have a great day!

Yay lynne, good luck!

Prayer for Noah and Stacey's little girl.

Mini, you're really on a work train lately! Hang in there girl.

I seem to be bouncing 8 oz up and down the last few days, but that's okay, I've been a bit more rogue than usual, so not surprised.

GO LYNNE!

Star...where did you get your super fun bento box??? That sounds like the perfect foil for making a less than exciting lunch special.

Stacey, that's a terribly high temp...hope they can get her something that will have her feeling better quickly. And that you can catch up on some rest.

Mini, I bet you're working your muscles a lot more completely doing the moving than you would at a gym. Real life lifting is much more 'full body' than weight training. It's great that you can feel yourself getting stronger!

Getting ready for a long day of sewing, teaching and basketball. (RCJH-GO KU)

On a completely unrelated subject, who likes to read on a Kindle? There's a great site for free books that I've been using, just google Pixel of Ink. They send you an email every day, or you can just go to the site. Lots of fun!! I have the Kindle app on my ipad.

Aww, that's so neat! I Jessica too! And what a great area you're in! We have a HS sports league here too, Christian based. But for vball they weren't so good. Dd(11) played JV last year and didn't like it. She was 11 and playing with and against 16y.o.'s to get a little bit competitive. They won every game in the season until the last one. She felt uncomfortable being so much younger than her teammates. We can play at the local school teams if we want (currently not very competitive either). She plays club vball which is challenging. We're starting a science co-op next year. I would love to find other things like debate or choirs. I'll have to look harder.

Star-you're doing well!! glad you're finding a way to make P2 fun. Your posts always show your personality and are fun to read!

Mini-your working your metabolism to a frenzy w. all that work!! Hope the scale rewards you eventually.

Plum-way to ride out those fluctuations.

Carrie- for your weekend w/ Noah, but on very little gain. You'll be down by the end. Just in time for Easter!!

Stacey- for dd! Hope she's better quickly and doesn't share!!

Lynne-your'e off to a great start. Hope you enjoy a great round!

That exercise last night, plus higher carbs (137+g according to my calculations) bumped me up on the scale today. Considering Sat. morning I was out of my window on the low side (intentional wiggle room) and the fun food weekend I enjoyed + running and sore today = still in my window!! That's quite an accomplishment to me. And I have added CO to my diet lately and am still stable. I will play softball tonight (tournament) and then do C25K tomorrow again. I'd like to add some weights in here. Maybe Wed? I've decided to try to stick to more LC on the week days, enjoy the exercise, enjoy my weekends (w/i reason) then back to LC week days. This is my current maintenance plan. We'll see how it goes. I can always do a GYCD if I need one. But so far, so good .

Have a great week!!

Speaking of Easter, I loaded up on Cadbury Easter candy yesterday. I do love my those mini-eggs and caramel filled ones. I will be enjoying a few on Sunday , but then back to LC for the week. I'm going to try to get down below LDW before Sunday comes!!

And, for the record, I do know how to spell and about grammar. I occasionally re-read my posts and realize there are typos and errors all t/o. But I type so fast I rarely notice!! Just sayin' .

Julie and Diva, I homeschooled my oldest for 2 years - K and 1st grade. She did fantastic, but it was just to much for me with the other 2. I do miss a lot of things abuot it, but they are thriving in school. I was HS'd in high school and played basketball and volleyball. We played the local private schools and we whooped up on them! It was awesome! We talk about hsing again, but we are going to wait until the adoption is over and we have DS to re-evaluate.

Well, DD does have strep. I know she did when I looked at her throat last night. NASTY!! We are probably going to have to get her tonsils out this summer. BOO! But, we won't have to deal with this every year anymore.

Lynne, good luck on this new round! You can do it!!!

Plum, thanks for the prayers!

Lynne, I have a Nook, do they have Nook books too? Lately I haven't had much time for books, with school, blah blah blah, but LOVE to read! Reading anything good? I need suggestions.

Deb, light blue is YOUR color! beautiful!!

Stacey, hope your little girl gets better soon.

I have to take my little boxer to the vet today. I 'think' she has a cold, allergies, something, plus an ear infection. Boo. Then school starts up again tonight. I have no energy for it, anymore it seems. I can't wait for summer because I am only going to take one class. I need a breather.

I'm sorry, Stacey. Well, look at it this way. If her temp is that high, her Thyroid must be in good shape! There's always a bright-side, right? I hope she doesn't get totally screwed out of Spring Break. Poor little thing!

I have a Kindle and I subscribe for 0.99/month to some guy who tells me what free books are being offered. I thank you for sharing the site you use! I tend to collect kindle books + never read them!

Ladies, I'm trying so hard to go thru and do personals but my mind is racing a mile a minute and I can't focus as I'm reading. Forgive me if I miss something huge!

This is my current maintenance plan. We'll see how it goes. I can always do a GYCD if I need one. But so far, so good .

Have a great week!!
Sounds great, Julie! We're all proud of you!

I post mine and then proof-read through and "edit" what I find. I am a mad typo person. But I'm in such a hurry to post it before I lose it somehow. I never got into those Cadbury eggs. I'm going to steer clear of them because I don't need another Chocolate addiction!

Sounds like you need to have them taken out, for sure. I hope you have insurance and that it won't be a financial hardship as well as just a stressful procedure. Do you have some of that numbing throat spray that tastes awful? It can help with the discomfort but does taste nasty. I will pray for her healing and fast recovery. Hang in there, Mommy!

No idea about the Nook. How do you like it? I'm sorry about your boxer! Dang Vet bills can be a killer. I only have a fur-baby. I need to look into dog medical insurance. I know they have companies that offer that sort of thing, but it's probably like people insurance. The older the dog, the costlier the permiums. I'm going to look into that right after I post this!

And I agree about the pic of Deb in there very wispy dress!!!

Cathy is right! Deb, you look amazing in that dress. And you are not "as old as dirt." We're as yound as we feel. I'm feeling a heck of a lot younger than I had been feeling this past decade!

I have been busy today! I set up the power, trash, water and internet to be canceled on a certain day and it went much smoother than I expected! And as I was doing it, I realized that in my situation, it's not like a normal "must be out by a certain day" kind of move. I can "trickle in." I don't have to be totally moved in on the 1st of May! And I will still have access to the house that I'm currently in! How cool is that?

So I need to focus on what is going with me and concentrate on those things. My last scheduled trash pick up will be May 3rd so that will give me a few days to come back and toss what remains. This is a great comfort to me!

And in addition to all that, I got an email yesterday. It was an inquiry about a "situation wanted" ad I posted about a month ago, after that horse/one-room apartment thing fell through. I told the webpage peeps to delete the ad after I'd received one response that was not at all what I was looking for, and found out that they had posted my private phone number in the ad. They wrote back and said they'd delete the ad.

Then yesterday I got another email in response to it. Come to find out, the ad was still up and still had my phone number. This woman knows of a woman who has a facility out in Bethlehem CT and they are only looking for someone to help with the horses on Sundays! So she gave me the lady's phone number and I called her today and left a message. I told her that so-and-so referred me and left my number.

So THEN, yesterday I emailed the equine manager at the therapy place that I'm involved in. She had sent all of us the Word doc that is the volunteer schedule for April. I had looked it over a few days ago and noticed that we need people more on Saturday pm than on Friday. I know we are tripping over each other on Fridays and I don't care for that, so I emailed her the other day and asked her if switching to Saturday would be better for all concerned. I didn't hear back from her until yesterday.

She said that this Saturday they will have 2 extra people but if I want to change to Saturdays starting on the 13th, that would be fine. "But what we really need are people on Sunday pm. That's where I'm short."

Sunday. Hmmmm...

So I wrote her back and told her I couldn't commit to Sunday just yet because I heard of a position at a Hunter/Jumper facility that is Sunday's only. Perfect intro into this:

"I had heard that you are looking for a part-time, fill-in-type barn person and I'd told **** that I was interested in it." I went on and it was all so absolutely PERFECT! I told her that I was moving into the apartment, my expenses were about to go way up from what they are now and that I am in need of just a little extra money each month to improve my quality of life. I told her that there is nowhere else I'd rather be than their farm and that for the first time in my life, I love going to work. I also assured her that I would still be putting in my volunteer hours, as well. (All staff do that.)

I am waiting to hear her reply and hope that the lack of an immediate response is a good sign. But either way, I'm making it known in a very assertive and non-pushy way what my wants and hopes and needs are. And if it doesn't happen at the farm, maybe it will at the place in Bethlehem!

See why I'm having trouble focusing?

Cheryl, I LOVE my Nook. I have the 16gig Nook Tablet. So lotsa space and internet too! Unfortunately makes buying books too darn easy. I need a second job to support my nail polish and book addictions!
Vet bill was HIGH, but that included 6mo. of Trifexis, ear drops, and 10 days of antibiotics. Now, we go back next month for shots. Geez! Worth it tho, since she is my 'fur-baby!' She has allergies and sinus drainage. Who would have thought? Too funny! I've looked into pet insurance but Premiums too high for dog who is not a puppy and a Boxer to boot - Boxers have bad medical histories, usually, high rates of cancer, etc....
