WOW! 30 posts already on the first day. Good thing I'm a fast reader.

The local vet's husband is out of town this week, so she asked if I would come each morning while she did surgeries. I thought it was to answer the phone while she was busy, so I arrived this morning with book and coffee in hand. Well... no reading. I worked as a vet's surgery assistant. Two canine neuters and one spay. I "peopled" the cauterizer gun. Anytime there was a bleeder, I zapped it. It was really interesting. Tomorrow we have one dog and a cat scheduled. Good thing I'm not squeamish, but I had a feeling she already knew that since when I lived in the country I paid her in chickens and rabbits for the freezer.

No loss this morning again. Thankfully Diva did injections and calmed me down. But still.... And to answer Julie's Q, I'm 5 lbs. away from a set point. I sure hope I'm doing it early as I'd hate to go through this again in 5 lbs.

After the vet clinic, I went to the neighbouring town to my favourite thrift store. It was half-price Monday. I purchased a reward outfit that I figure I will be able to wear in 10 lbs. I could get into it, but it was skin tight and the pants will need hemming as they hit the ground. It's a bit young for me, but I really like denim. It is bluer than it shows here, and only cost $2.50. Can't go wrong with that.

Brigit, when I did my looong set point stall thingummie, I was *sure* that my real set point was 142. I got stuck like crazy at 145...and had the same concern you did. I thought...oh my gosh...if I have to do this again in 3 pounds I'll never last. But I realized when I flew right by 142 and never looked back, that I probably wasn't even using the same scale the last time I was that weight. Who knows what my set point was in absolute measurements. All of this to say...I bet you'll have the same thing happen. You're grinding through it now and I do not think you'll have to do it again in a few pounds.

WOW! Just WOW. I have no idea what a Maggy London dress is, but if it covers all the appropriate places, go fur it!

I also started back to exercise tonight, no fooling . I hope to get some weights in later too. Only 2 more days to "run" this week. I can't say I feel good, but I'm really glad it's done . Nite!!
Good for you. P3 can be tricky -- so I'm glad to hear you are successful. And I'm sure you know that muscle takes up less volume than fat, so if you gain a bit of muscle, you might show a weight increase but an inches decrease.

I'll try to keep tomorrow's calories low, low, low, and probably stick to mostly protein.

I think I am gaining muscle. I seem to be stronger by the day, and my muscles are getting very defined, even in my legs.... All things considered, I really can't complain -- though now I would love to drop the last few pounds of fat.
If the picture in your avatar is of you, I can't see where you have any fat to lose! I'm sure you will be successful to get to the weight and measurements you need to be.

Doesn't look like you are derailed much. I hope Noah is OK from his treatment.

You'll do very well. You came to the right place for support as this is a great group of people. Rogues tho we are.
Thanks for the link to the Pixel of Ink site. I use another that lists only free books and is updated a few times a day. Search for Kindle Reader IQ. I try to check it daily as they add hundreds of books each day. The nice thing is you can set filters to only get the genres you want.

Lynne, THANK YOU!!! I just signed up for that Pixel of Ink thing and already downloaded four free books! Something must be wrong, though. I didn't get any confirmation emails like I do when I get books on Amazon through my other free kindle book site. Something is amiss. Must figure it out....

Vet bill was HIGH, but that included 6mo. of Trifexis, ear drops, and 10 days of antibiotics. Now, we go back next month for shots. Geez! Worth it tho, since she is my 'fur-baby!' She has allergies and sinus drainage. Who would have thought? Too funny! I've looked into pet insurance but Premiums too high for dog who is not a puppy and a Boxer to boot - Boxers have bad medical histories, usually, high rates of cancer, etc....
I know what you mean! I have gone off the deep end on Amazon a number of times and the kindle idea is the same thing. It feeds the need for instant gratification and supports impulsivity. In other words, it's very dangerous for me!

Sorry about the vet bill. I am going to look into the premiums for the dog insurance. My dog has been the highest-maintenance pooch of my entire life. No one ever even came close! All who came before her were just annual shots, basically. This little darling has cost me hundreds and hundreds over the past 9 years that I've been blessed to have her.

Boxers are so cute! I didn't realize they had a poor health history. Mutts are usually better in that regard, but not MY little cutie!

HOW COOL! JEALOUS!!! I'd love to help a Vet with things like that. And I wish I could pay for Vet bills with rabbits and chickens, too!

I love Thrift Stores but I don't know of any that offer a half-off day. They have their "color of the week" but the things I shop for are never that color. Cute outfit! Looks comfy, too. Can't beat that price!

Brigit-Carol, the weight loss is going nowhere. Yes, same old tired story. Still taking the hhcg pellets but eating too much. Holding onto lots of water. My face looks like an Acorn Squash. Thanks for asking, though. If I'm not posting something about it in my siggy, there's a reason why.

Thanks for sharing about Kindle IQ Reader! Now I have two new sites with which to acquire more books that I'll likely never read! Woohooo!

Not sure if Pixel of Ink works for Nook. Can you buy Nook books at Amazon? If so then it would!!

Cheryl, all my Amazon confirmations for free books go in my junk folder for some reason. Even though I say "not junk"!! Weird. Glad you're having fun with it!!

Ready for dinner!! If I have 20 more days like today I will be fine!! Not too hungry, not to crave-y. A little worried about Bernice, but I'll cross that bridge if/when I get to it.

Lynne, don't worry about Bernice. Our fickle friend! She will come along eventually. Sometimes she just needs a nudge.

I did finally get the (3) books I ordered. It was strange. It was showing as orders that were in progress and then all at once they came and I got one collective email saying that the 3 books were sent to my Kindle.

Thanks so much for sharing the kindle sites with us! I had no clue that either of them existed. I cancelled the one I "belonged to" today and now I'll save a whopping $0.99/month! Hey! A buck is a buck, right? He was very small-time anyway.

Goodnight ladies. Time for bed on the east coast. Hugs and love to all! Be well and safe and I'll see you all tomorrow. I'll report back after my apartment-walk-through at noon!

Search for Kindle Reader IQ.

Yes, I get their email every day too. As well as one for Christian books.

Well, it's the end of a long day for everyone. Good hopes and prayer for the job sitch, Cheryl.

good morning!

cheryl, this round was a bit tougher on him for some reason. it's so strange how he can get the same meds, same dosages each time and each time you never how he'll respond. he had to stay home from school yesterday which he hasn't had to do on a monday after a big treatment for awhile. sunday he couldn't eat much at all, but by yesterday he was keeping food down and even went out in the afternoon and took a spin on his 4-wheeler. school today, tho. thanks for asking.

i am down 0.8 this morning. have lunch with a friend today. not sure where yet or what my choices will be for eating. just gonna go with it, i guess.

Good morning all!!

1st day down 2.4!! Woo hoo!! Yesterday wasn't bad at all, looking forward to another fairly easy day. I used my mf meal replacements along with 1T of cream in coffee for a total of 490 cals. My plan is to do the same until Sunday when we go to my cousin's for Easter. I'll have a tiny bit of ham, broccoli and salad there and do my best. Hopefully by then my hunger will be completely under control!

Be back later!

Good morning all. Down a half pound today, but I'm not counting it unless it shows up tomorrow as yesterday's food was really low and "Bernice" visited me last night. Finally!

You'll get back on track soon. You've had a very stress month apartment/ house searching. Now things have settled in that regard I have no doubt you'll jump back into weight loss mode.

WooHoo indeed! Great first day loss. Just curious -- are the mf meal replacements a shake? If so, what are the main protein ingredients? I'm considering subbing a whey shake in for the evening meal.. Now that is has gotten hot, I really don't feel like eating in the evening.

Helped with a dog neuter this morning. The cat was cancelled, but I hope to see a kitty spay while I'm there.

Have a great day everyone!

These are soy-based meal replacements. I know, ugh!! Yesterday I used 2 bars, 1 of the pretzels and made a soup out of the sloppy joe mix. They each have 110 calories, and my cream made up the other 50.

I have a lot of this stuff, and the portion control makes it fool-proof for me to get my calorie count right. They also make some whey-based items. I have the cappuccino which is really good. When it gets warmer I might make that as a shake in the blender with ice.

I'd go for that protein shake, Brigit. You can either do it with protein powder or make the "P2 SMoothie" with cottage cheese, cocoa, frozen strawberries, and some people throw in spinach as well.

ugh, so my small slice of pizza on saturday night = up two lbs. plus, I was SO hungry yesterday! lesson learned. should have just had the toppings, or better still skipped it altogether! I think something else made me retain water, I felt puffy when I got up despite drinking a lot of water yesterday. le sigh. stupid water retention, ruining my life! hahaha!

anyway. so my plan to fat fast at least twice is ON. today, tomorrow, fat fast. but now with extra motivation.

Carrie, glad to hear that Noah is doing better today.

I do protein shakes too, but I use either egg white or rice/chia/hemp blend since I can't have dairy. Easy portion control for sure.

I bumped up today, but I am not surprised at all. Have been pretty clean so far today, so maybe I will be back tomorrow. Who knows!

What's the Christian book site?! I'd love to check that one out, too. Thanks so much for the continued prayers. I surely could use a little extra income. I felt that I was being tested and more closely examined today at the farm. It's all good. If it was a test, I passed.

Wow, Jodie! Busy woman with a lot of responsibility. So glad you found time for US! That roast sounds yummo. Was it good? Roasts and crock pot fare can go either way with me.

Thanks for the congrats on the "apartment." It feels like home to me. I can't wait! Being a homeowner was nice but way too much for me, a single middle-aged emotionally and financially-challenged woman who was way too overweight. This new place will be IDEAL for me.

Oh, Carrie. I'm really sorry to hear that. Noah's body is just "over" all the crap that he's had to go through. You must be feeling rather ragged yourself. God bless and strengthen all of you over this last quarter mile. What a marathon this has been.

on that 0.8 lbs!

Yippee! Glad you have something planned for Easter. I have no clue if I'll be doing anything that day. My poor sister is so "spent" with helping some guy leave his house (that he just sold) and pack a "POD" and drive to FL. She hasn't got the where-with-all to do all that, but she got roped into it and it snowballed wildy out of control over the months. I'll likely be right here at home with Cisco! Celebrating the Holy Day.

You'll get back on track soon. You've had a very stress month apartment/ house searching. Now things have settled in that regard I have no doubt you'll jump back into weight loss mode.

Helped with a dog neuter this morning. The cat was cancelled, but I hope to see a kitty spay while I'm there.

Have a great day everyone!
Thank you for that vote of confidance. I do appreciate that. That is SO COOL that you are helping at the Vet's office with those procedures. Are you having fun? I'd love doing that stuff. If not working with horses right now, that would interest me.

anyway. so my plan to fat fast at least twice is ON. today, tomorrow, fat fast. but now with extra motivation.
Sorry for the water bloat. I'm bloaty this past few days, too. My face looks bad. I hope your FF goes well and delivers what you want from it.

I do protein shakes too, but I use either egg white or rice/chia/hemp blend since I can't have dairy. Easy portion control for sure.

I bumped up today, but I am not surprised at all. Have been pretty clean so far today, so maybe I will be back tomorrow. Who knows!
Sorry for the dang bump-up, Stacey. You know it's nothing bad. This too shall pass!

Guys, I had one hell of a full day! Slept late, did the aparment walk-through (inside and outside), got home and discovered that I had a "date" to show the hot tub at 1:30 (Ambien episode from last night; didn't recall the interaction via email.) Then headed to the farm for almost 3 full hours of work.

It was solid 20-mph winds for about the first half of the time and then it got very calm. Strange but true. I got to do some new/unusual things with the horses and the equine manager was there. She's the one I emailed about my wishes regarding that job. I felt like she was testing me today and I think she was pleased with what she saw. I even hand-fed the old goat that wouldn't eat all of her grain. I scooped up the rest of her grain in my hand and then she ate it like it was candy-coated. I love being there. What an amazing opportunity.

Then I got home and dealt with the emails and voicemails I got while I was at the farm. Some guy wants the parakeets and is supposed to come tomorrow. Another dude is coming to see the hot tub. He'll be the second one to see it in two days.

I can bring and plant anything I want from my current home! I am going to bring the Lily bulbs, Canna bulbs, Dahlia, and my Hydrangea plant. I think I'll dig up a couple of the variagated hostas, too. I'll be establishing a veggie garden over there, as well. It's all falling into place and it is so clearly God's doing. This sort of place just doesn't fall into your lap unless God is in it.

I'm so tired! That's all I have to offer to y'all tonight. I did my best and here it is, typos and all.

Hi ladies! I'm just a lurker on the "Rogue" thread. Hope your all doing well!

I was just checking in to see if Paulabob had checked in. I live prob 1/2 an hour from you, and there just wasn't much "safe" places today in the Dallas area. Wondering if you are ok?

For those who don't know we had some pretty severe weather today, lots of tornado's and lots of damage.

Hope your ok Paula, and anyone else from this area!

Wow, praying that Paula is ok -- thanks for the update on the weather situation -- I heard it was truly nasty!

I'm just checking in quickly after another endless day -- the past couple of days have been fat-fast-ish, though a bit high on the cals I think. I think I am at least maintaining, if not losing a little, so that's good. Still eschewing the scale -- just too much else to worry about at the moment.

I'm going to try to make the rest of this week pretty virtuous, and then weigh this weekend most likely.

I'd still like to get in one more good blast of losing before calling it quits, but am running such long hours and doing so much physical work that I am finding it difficult.

We'll see where things stand in a few days.

Love to you all!

Well, I'm back already from the vet clinic. Had a no-show this morning, so no surgery, but two are scheduled for tomorrow.

No loss today, but I didn't gain back the 1/2 lb. I lost yesterday. I'm so thankful I am not hungry, because I don't think I could stand such slow weight loss with hunger as well. I really have no idea what to do to speed things up as I'm not in an actual stall, just a pattern of no losses for 2-3 days then a small loss and back to nothing. Boy, do I have a stubborn body or what?

Goddess -- sorry about the hunger but that is pretty normal in the first three days. Hang in there. One trick I've used in the past was to only eat a half fruit at a time. That way I had something to curb the hungries when they struck. I know you are doing something different, but perhaps breaking up your meals so you can eat more frequently. Also a nice large salad always fills me up -- well, actually I get tired of chewing, so feel full. The Omaha Weight Loss plan does not count lettuce or celery, so one can have it as often as desired. Celery isn't the most exciting food in the world, but it might take the edge of.

Hope everyone has a really great day!

Brigit-Carol, I am not sure there is a way to speed it up, other than to change it up. HOnestly, my body always did better with a few more calories when I tried HCG. I dont have the determination to stick with it, I just exercise way to much... but when I would slow, eating a bit more kicked it up for me. Your body probably thinks its in starvation mode and not wanting to let go of anything.

Carrie - poor Noah, give him hugs from me too. I am always thinking about him, and wishing him and you all the best! 0.8 is nice!!

Mini - sounds like you are super duper busy. take a moment and breathe!!

Goddesslynne, I would have diet soda sometimes, but usually would take sparkling water and flavor it with stevia drops... just like a soda!!

I also hope Paula is okay... thinking of you..

Okay have a good day ladies and keep up the good work!
