VLCD34 and need help!!

Please help...I'm almost in tears. I am on VLCD34 of a 40 day round. My losses have been OK as you can see in my siggy but with many stalls. The last two days I gained 2 lbs. I am ready to throw in the towel but would HATE to call 139 LDW. OR I have 7 more days to get off as much as I can and then just call it good. I am rogue but I haven't done anything MORE rogue than usual

Well, I think I just answered my own question...I'll just keep plugging away and wherever I am at day 40 is where God wants me to be. Thanks for letting me talk it out. ANY comments would still be appreciated!!

WOE: Dr. Atw Simeons Protocol
Start Date: restart 3/5/2012 multiple rounds
In all my rounds I've never gained weight unless I cheated. My impression is that you may want to stop, that your body might be done losing for now. Protocol says that you shouldnt go longer than 36 days on a round. Some choose to go longer but that doesnt mean that its the right solution for you. If you want the best results IMHO follow the protocol to a t...

best,

Hello - Oh I feel for you!

In the 800 calorie protocol she suggests a Canteloupe Plateau Breaker. It goes as this:

Quote:
Cantaloupe Plateau Breaker: At bedtime, eat half of a medium sized cantaloupe (make sure to cut it yourself) and drink 1 full glass of water right before you lay down to sleep. You should lose between 0.5-3 pounds the following morning. Eating cantaloupe assists in pulling water out of the fat cell and this action works best while you are asleep. For dieters on the 500 calorie protocol, the 1/2 cantaloupe at bedtime will be your second fruit of the day. For dieters on the 800 calorie protocol, the 1/2 cantaloupe at bedtime will be your third fruit of the day. There is a 99% success rate for both protocols in P2. It really works!

As other ways to get the scale moving, she suggests taking a calcium pyruvate supplement, using ACV as much as possible, increase your fluid intake to 3 quarts per day, increase your protein by 1/2 an ounce per meal, drinkinging oolong, black and green tea.

J, where are you in your cycle? Could you be retaining water for some reason?

Seeing Kiley's post reminded me that I did a mini-steak day in R4, and it worked really well for me. So, if your hunger is under control, you might think of doing something like that. You still have enough time left in your round that it shouldn't mess w/stabilization.

Anyhow... hugs to you and many prayers coming your way!

Hmmm...that canteloupe idea sounds interesting. I haven't been eating fruit on my rogue round, but I wonder if it would shake things up?? I also have ACV so I will definitely do that, going to do that right now, as a matter of fact. Thanks!!

Well, now that you mention it, TOM did kinda reappear yesterday (I thought I was done on Fri.) and I don't really do as well w/ my water intake on the weekends.

I'm thinking of either an all protein day (still between 500-700 cals.) or the canteloupe idea (a little scared about that one, though). My hunger is still under control, the only reason I can continue on this long round.

I'll let you know how things go.

good luck!! I wish I had tried the canteloupse SB firsthand to be able to tell you it worked, but I am just starting this round myself.

But there are a good # of women posting on the 800 Caloried Facebook page I belong to who have reported good losses with this!

J4Christ,

I had a 7 day stall in my first round. And I *did* gain WITHOUT CHEATING (I have never ever not even once even 'kind of' cheated), several times during the round. You may be working hard on a set point. They require perseverance...just outlast the dang thing. You can do it! Hormones, water, lack of visits from "Bernice", weighing too early in the morning...getting an infection you don't even know you have yet...or fighting one you don't know you've been exposed to, all these things (and many others) can cause your body to have TO MUCH TO DO to finish the process of releasing the fat in its usual timely fashion. It's still going to happen...it *always* will happen. It just takes longer when your body is 'multi-tasking'...just like when you have too many windows open on the desktop of your computer. Try to relax and ride it out. Do push the water. You will be fine.

Thanks everyone. I will push on to end of the 40 days. I appreciate hearing from people who think I should end the round and I definitely would if I was feeling hungry or depleted. But I am still feeling fine (maybe a bit deprived, but I can get past that). Everyone has helped me get my resolve back and just take what I get at the end of the round (and be happy with it)

Privatediva-I like to think that my body is "multitasking". Sounds like I'm working extra hard at this!! You look stunning BTW!!!

I will everyone posted...

awe thanks! I feel really good. I kind of did this last round on a whim, but I'm happy I did it. It was a "vanity round"...I had a little 'bra roll' that was driving me nuts. It was gone after 5 lbs, so I upped my protein and finished out my round to try for the 'reset'. I'm only on my 2nd day of P3, but so far so good!

Thanks for cheering me on everyone! I did the canteloupe last night although I forgot to drink the water. Hope that didn't change things too much! The scale flickered on 139 then settled on 138, so barely a lb. down (my scale only weighs to the nearest lb.) I'm am really trying to take what comes and do my best. But it is so hard to think that the last 6 days of this LONG round I am just fighting to lose gained (undeserved) weight

stay the course, Sweetie...you're doing great. You can do an "apple day" if you want to shake things up a little more. I didn't like the one I did, but I am diabetic...I think I need the protein to feel normal. Lots of people swear by them. You're close...not too much longer. I bet you drop like a ton of bricks tomorrow morning IF...and only if...you push the water (plain water, not tea, coffee or soda) today. No forgetting...your body has to have the water to flush your fat cells. If you don't drink enough for it to know you're not trying to kill it, it will hold onto every drop it can.

Thanks, Privatediva, I have to remind myself that giving in at this point isn't going to do me any good. I have been drinking my daily water, although I do slack on the weekends. The water I forgot to drink was the 8 oz. I was supposed to drink after the canteloupe. Maybe I should up my daily water, too for these last days.

I would...and if you like it, San Pellegrino water is *really* good...it's slightly diuretic in nature and I love it so I drink it by the case. Before the scale drops, the fat in the cells is released and replaced with water. Water weighs more than the fat it replaced. SOmetimes it helps to remember that when you stay even you're actually down...just not 'finished' with the process of releasing the water. That fat is already gone.

Aww sorry the canteloupe didn't yield better results.

Definitely can't hurt to push the water moreso in the final days. I'd also drink more green tea if you can tolerate it!

I forgot... have you tried a mini steak day?

Kiley, yesterday I did an all protein day. I spread the protein throughout the day but most of it was in the evening (about 600 cals.) I stayed the same this morning

I'm happy to report the scale was nice to me this morning...136 Thank you Lord!!! Yesterday I did a fat fast w/ 800 cals. and 80% fat and chugged my water! I felt great, I actually had planned the normal 1000 cal FF but didn't need my last 200 cal. "meal". Bernice also made a very nice visit, so I'm sure that helped! I'll do a FF again today and see what happens.

PD-I'm sure my drops are still working, because I feel just fine, normal "time to eat" type hunger. Also, thanks for the explanation on water retention/release. It did make me feel better to think the fat was already released!!

Thanks, AND one more lb. down today and another FF yesterday!! I'll do one more FF today. This is my last dosing day but I will take Mon. weigh in as my final weight. I can hardly believe I am at this point finally, when I started almost 40 days ago the journey sounded so daunting!! Thanks again for your help everyone!!

Woo-hoo...another lb. down to 134! Makes me want to do another FF, but I will call it a round. No drops today. I'll finish up the lean meats DH BBQd for me before I decided to do a FF, then on Mon. I will begin P3 (w/ ESE).
PD-I think you're right, not sure why I bumped up those 2 lbs. but I do think I was dealing w/ a set point.

J4Christ - Congratulations on your progress! The first post in this thread caught my I as I am over 30 days on this current P2 round and seeing things slow way down. I was prepared to plow through as long as needed to lose my last 6 lbs, but the other two P2-ers in my house intend to start P3 on Monday... that would make it extra hard on me!

I'm wondering if a FF is in order. I've contemplated it before, but your story may be convincing me.

Would you mind telling me what type of 200-calorie meals you did?

And how are you feeling now, a few days later? Scale being nice to you?

(You had some awesome cheerleaders in this thread, btw. Great to see all the support!)

This seemed to work great for me:

*Coffee w/ about 1/3 c. of 1/2 & 1/2 (HWC would be better to lower carb count but I didn't have any)
*2 HB eggs made into deviled eggs-1 T. mayo, 1+ T. bacon bits, sprinkle of chopped gr. onion. I ate 2 halves for breakfast then the other 2 halves later.
*1 oz. cream cheese mixed w/ 1 T. butter and caramel Davinci
*1 oz. pecans (I chopped and sprinkled some of these on the above)
*1 pkg. shirataki noodles w/ 1 T. butter and sprinkle of gr. onion, garlic

I need to check ******, but I don't think these are exactly 200 cals. each. I went for a daily total of no more than 1,000 cals or less and 80% fat. Usually I ate around 800 cals. Felt great.

I went rogue my whole round so I was not afraid to do this. And I'm glad I did! I am still rogue and followed my round w/ the ESE plan (2 non consecutive 24 hr. fasts) and not weighing until after my first fast onThurs. Hopefully I will have maintained 134 or even better lost more! I will let you know!

HTH!! Best to you!
