Well, no loss this morning--and I'm out of week 2.
I think I've found the culprit, however -- cottage cheese. I looked back over my food logs and each time I ate 1/2 cup cottage cheese, I either did not lose or only lost 1/2 lb. This time I flushed it with water and that should have washed away the added ingredients including some of the salt. Aw well, the kitties and pup will enjoy the rest of the container. I'm going to call the store in town today and see if they have a canteloupe as I didn't get one while grocery shopping the other day. If not, I'll just keep on keeping on and buy one tomorrow when I go to church (I live in a very small town, but church is in a larger one 9 miles away). Cheryl - that house looks huge! I hope you will be very happy there. So much better than ending up renting a room in someone's house or ending up in an apartment complex. Good for you! Everyone else -- have a great day! |

Ladies, I need your help. I HAVE to make this work!! A couple of questions:
1. How do you dispense pellets w/out spilling out too many? I'm afraid if 5 or 6 come out into the palm of my hand and I let the extras roll back into the bottle that I'm contaminating the bottle! How do you all do it? 2. What happens if I do not load? Is it just a matter of being extra-hungry for a few more days? Mini, I know you've done rounds where you didn't load, please help!! I need to get back here and be accountable! I will be rogue, as I don't do grains or fruit. I'm still wanting to do my medifast/hhcg hybrid, using the mf meal replacements with one "regular" meal to total 500-600 calories. If I could just get the hunger management I think I can do it!! I only want to do 21 days at a time. My goal is 30 lbs. by 6/29/12. Thank you everyone!! I will update my stats on Monday when I start.

Hey all, hope your weekend is starting off well. P3 is Heaven. Every morning I wake up prepared to need my first ever CD and it's just crazy...I am, once again, solid like the Rock of Gibraltar on my LDW. I have pushed my cals up to @ 2000 and still stable. I will continue to do that for two more weeks of P3. After that, once I get to P4, I will "eat to satisfaction" and that will probably not be 2000 most days. If I lose once I get to P4, I won't fret over it. Man...yesterday, I ate a LOT of food! Really delicious wondrous stuff too. I was prepared for a CD if it caused a gain, but woke up steady, so I have just downed an enormous plate of chocolate chip protein pancakes loaded with butter and a side of bacon and a big creamy mug of vanilla bean coffee. THANK YOU LORD.
I do not know why this is as easy as it is for me...and I almost feel guilty that it is. I know it's not been easy at all for a lot of folks. But this plan....man...my body just digs it, I guess! Makes for one happy soprano!

lynne....dupmp your pellets into the lid of the bottle, then you don't have to touch them. just shake the extras back in the bottle.
i didn't load. i am fine. but i eat 800cals a day...no veggies...fruit (strawberries once a day)...with added fat. |

I tip my pellets into the lid. It takes a bit of practice but after some shaking around from the lid to the bottle I get the right number of pellets. The loading is just to get you through the first few days, from what I understand. I have loaded, and not loaded, and not noticed any difference except for the scale! Good luck and WELCOME! |

I loaded both rounds...huge high fat/very low carb loads, and lost during my load. Best of both worlds...losing from the start and zero hunger.

Thank you, ladies!!
I will start with pellets today, not really loading, but not being strict 500-600 cals, either. I will try to do the lid thing. Another question: does the 15 minutes with no food or drink start when you put them in your mouth, or when the last one dissolves? They take so long to dissolve!! |

they don't dissolve....i keep them under my tongue till all the coating is gone and then just swallow them. the hcg is just coating them not all the way thru them. once the sweet taste is gone, i swallow them.

The house is huge but I only get the ground floor plus my private attic space. I have access to the basement but she doesn't really want much put down there because it's damp. Not as damp as the basement I currently have, though! I agree. I didn't want to end up in an apartment complex. I can't believe how blessed I am to have found this place and to have been chosen! Our God is an awesome God! Quote:
I find it best to plant my tongue over them and not talk or breath through my mouth until they are dissolved. I do wait until they are dissolved but if it's 15 minutes later, I just swallow them and drink some water. I've never not loaded. I think loading is the best part of the diet! Yes, losing is fun. But having a blank check for a few days is also a lot of fun. I hope you have a great round!Quote:
What are Chocolate Chip Protein Pancakes? And how are they P3-friendly? I gotta know! Quote:
I texted the landlord today, being proactive and assertive. I asked her if we can go into the apartment on Monday so I can see what furniture of hers I'll be keeping so I know exactly what I need to sell or store. She said Monday was no good but we have a date for Tuesday at noon. I'll take my measuring tape and a pad and take notes. If there isn't a wall in the bedroom that is at least 9 feet long, I will have to consider what to do with my bedroom set. I have a massive headboard. It has two end units with drawers, lighting, cabinets and shelves, then a big mirror across the middle portion with lighting and shelves and sliding doors. If I take the middle part out and just used the two end parts, it would still work and buy me a few inches in width. EXCITED!! And have a lazy day in store today. Probably be the last one for at least a while. I must get cracking! The first thing I'm going to do is a huge "purge" of the entire house. The purge with be trash and give-aways. Then I'll figure out what I'm packing and selling. This is going to be such a cleansing experience! I'm not saying it won't be hard, but I'll come out cleaner on the other side. Have a very blessed and wonderful weekend, ladies! Much love to all of you! ![]()

chocolate chip protein pancakes have almost no carbs, so they're completely P3 friendly
1/2 cup cottage cheese 2 eggs 2 tsp baking powder 1 tblsp salted caramel SF Torani Syrup 1 tblsp vanilla bean SF Torani Syrup 1/4 cup whey vanilla protein powder 1/4 cup egg white vanilla protein powder 1 cap of vanilla extract 1 cap maple extract blend, let sit five minutes, cook on the griddle, sprinkle with Nevada Manna SF mini chocolate chips while they're cooking. The entire recipe, made with Jay Robb proteins is 52 grams of protein, about 350 cals (sometimes less if I use egg beaters instead of eggs and depending on the cottage cheese I have on hand) |

btw, letting the batter set up for 5 minutes after it's mixed is very important. It thickens up a lot during that time

Sorry this is only my 3rd post. not sure how it will format. I first saw Super Simple HCG as a blog of a woman (Kathleen Barnes) that had gained 100lbs over a 20 year period and was going to try and stay on hCG long term and see if she could lose the weight. I followed her blog and actually lost my weight while she was still losing. mine was only 21 days and only 15 lbs, but I felt so good. I knew this was something I could do every Spring or whenever I needed to." You can do anything for 21 days!" Her book came out a little later and you can down load it or buy hard copy. simple as the name denotes and it really worked for her. I don't hink she really took long breaks. vacation or holdaiys but right back on program after for 9 months to lose the 100lbs. Typical day for me coffee with ff 1/2 & 1/2 -lunch Grilled chicken breast or talapia spring mix ff/sugar free dressing strawberries -dinner veggie burger w/w sandwich round mixed peppers sauteed with low sodium/fat bullion cantalope -Apple/pear lots of water 64oz. Kathleen's plan helped me alot. could not give up occasional ff 1/2 & 1/2 (daily) air popped popcorn chardonnay 4oz. (once in awhile) low GI fruits & veggies & mixing my veggies (I get cold) Soups are great! did give up diet coke, but still use splenda in my coffee/espresso. Did drink lots of 0 calorie drinks made with spenda and didn't have a problem. lots of teas green/ oolong ate freeze dried apples or pears for snack if I needed crunch. (Costco) Didn't do grissini-yuck. 100 cal 100% whole grain whatever. Usually those sandwich thins or tortillas.Ryecrisp. I substituted egg beaters or cottage cheese or veggie burger for variety when I got sick of chicken. My Husband is a chef and in P2 week 1 lost 15 lbs! He's very on protocal. I could never. Poor guy is around food all day long, but doing it. I just know myself. I need to have variety and to be able to change it up if I'm bored. Tania |

intro ?

I stayed in sweats and baggy tees for months, avoiding the scales. I went through a ton of trauma in my family (elderly mother repeatedly hospitalized), and now, here I am again. I have to find out what works. I have to fix my thyroid issues. I am trying the Leptin reset now. I know the Fat Fast works, don't know how long I can adhere to it. I also know I cannot do another 500 calorie a day diet, just to have it all come back. Plus, even after 100 pounds, I needed reshaping and muscle, not flab. I NEED to exercise !! I need muscle definition !! That being said, I want to look at the Insanity (by Shaun T.) workouts. I want something that works, and works fast !! I have a bunch of skinny clothes calling my name right now... And, on another note: I am 40, homeschooling mother of 6 (ages 5-17). I care for my elderly mother a gajillion hours a week and am trying to make ends meet as well. After 2.5 yrs. of unemployment, my dh has a dead end job making $10 and it doesn't cover it. I sell stuff (anything that isn't nailed down) off on ebay, I edit books, I do raw/vegan catering. I don't believe in debt. I don't like chemicals and processed stuff either. I love all things coconut. My hobby ? SLEEP !! Of which I am severely lacking !! Yeah, that about covers it. Oh, and we were missionaries at one point as well, and I definitely believe in God !! How's that for an intro ?? |

You don't need to have advice, just hang out with us! We can offer support and that is a precious thing in times of need.We have other home-schooling God-believing Moms here so you are among good company. I'm really sorry about your Mother situation. Sounds very complicated. I take it she doesn't live with you? Sweats and baggy tee's and staying off the scale spells DISASTER! If I did that, I'd get the same results you got. I live in PJ's when I'm at home alone and that can be dangerous too. Insanity is insane. Ask Stacey! I've heard great things about Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred, too. I bought the DVD but have yet to do more than pop it into the DVD and watch how it's done. If you're like me and you start out at too high a level, acting like you are still 20 years old, you will see just how unfit you've become over the years and it will only lead you to discouragement and to quiting altogether. Start out sensibly. That's odd. You do raw/vegan catering but you don't like to eat that way? How'd that happen? And you're an editor? Wow, girl. God Bless You!!!! |

Also, don't be afraid to branch out...the pancakes are really good with 1 tsp cinnamon and a little extra sweetener, without chocolate chips. Or without anything extra with butter and WF pancake syrup. Sometimes I bake the batter in a muffin top pan and those keep really well in the frig. I use them for almond butter sandwiches. Or if I need something really decadent, I sweeten heavy cream and use them like little shortcakes with strawberries. Merry and I go through tons of these little jewels. AND...I made them with egg beaters and non-fat cottage cheese and ate them during p2 |

Hello ladies!
That recipe looks so good! Is there any kind of substitute for protein powder? 'Cuz I want those now and I don't have any! I decided this morning, for whatever reason, to go into P3 until after Easter next weekend. This resume hcg that Monday. So I plan to maintain at 135-136 til then. |

Okay. Copied and pasted the updated tips on the pancakes. I need to buy some protein powder. I have some very old stuff but it isn't flavored and I wonder if that stuff goes bad after a few years. Yeah, I said years. Should I toss it and start fresh? I'm not getting enough protein.

My mom just came home from a nursing home/rehab today (stressful day) and we're hoping she'll be able to make it on her own w/ a CNA. We can't afford a full time one, but she's really not strong enough. Stress!! Hope you're able to relose and do it while exercising. you'll "meet" Gremon-Stacey. She's done insanity (quite successfully) and is also a believer. Tania!! Glad to have you here with us too!!Deb-thanks for that recipe. I will be trying that this week!! I always forget about my protein powder .Cheryl-not sure. Depends on how long you've had it. Should have a date on the container. I'm not the panicky type. I'd use it and see how it tastes. Got my mom home. She's trying to stay in the wheelchair as much as possible She's called me twice since I left her. I'm tired, and want to have a bit of peace. Sigh.Had a piece of pizza. That's my P4 foray!! We'll see how tomorrow goes on the scale. I'm hoping for the best

I would Cheryl...get some vanilla something. You can still flavor it other ways, but the vanilla stuff is very good and versatile. I don't think there's a sub for Protein Powder, Riley. I like the Jay Robb brand really well, but Designer Whey is yummy also. You don't have to use 1/s egg white protein...I just like it that way, you can use all whey.

I'm older than dirt and have graduated three home schooled kids. One is in Culinary School, one played NCAA basketball while working on a Criminal Justice degree and is now in the Army, and the last one is starting a career in ballet. Bible student, unabashed Christian, theology nut and operatic soprano here. I play piano for a ballet company, direct musicals and opera, conduct orchestras and play piano and do music planning for our church.

Hi ladies -- I had a so-so day eating wise -- definitely not protocol, though. I woke up ravenous -- I am doing way too much physical work to do low, low cals every day, hcg or not.
I think I ended up being somewhere in the 1100 calorie range for the day, protein and fat....so not a disaster -- and making tomorrow a fat fast day, because I have major furniture hauling to do, and fat fasting tends to give me a good burst of energy. Still haven't weighed, and I am not sure if I will or won't tomorrow. If I am feeling thin, I might ![]() I know I am going to be sore on Monday and that will probably bump up the scale too -- but I guess I should get on the darn thing at some point. This coming week is major, major work for me -- I have a week to get everything together for my final MFA review, which is on the 9th. Eek, I am SO not ready for that! I'll be burning the midnight oil a lot between now and then.

Ok, who on here likes coconut products ? I definitely do better without dairy. I still love it, but coconut helps a lot. I love the plain coffee creamer, the ice cream, etc.... And, least I forget, coconut flour and coconut oil. I think, should I have never gone back to dairy and wheat flour and potatoes, I would have kept the weight off. Calorie counting helps too. Now, I am deciding that I just have to find more than an elliptical to get the body I want, and am looking toward Insanity. (If I can handle it, it looks great !!). So far, the leptin reset of high protein, high fat is working--down 1.4 pounds today... If I can just keep this up, I'll be satisfied with the results !!
Anyone else like coconut products or use them for Fat Fast kinda days ?? |

I use coconut every day, with very few exceptions. I like unsweetened coconut in my yogurt, I cook with coconut cream, I eat coconut butter from a spoon, make cocoa crack and use coconut flour for my mug cakes. I do not ever eat wheat, but am fine with dairy.
Glad your FF is working. Have a great day! |
