Well, yesterday I got a wild hair and decided to try upping my calories again to see if I can get away with eating more... No wine, really low carbs, high fat, etc. Not a good idea. I had the same exact results as last time. Up .8 this morning, putting me at my all-time high for this P3... 120. Not super thrilled with that. 1810 calories, 145 fat, 57 carb, and 78 protein, 71% 12% 17%.
Still haven't decided what my plan for today will be, but I know it will involve eating under 1600 calories for the day. That seems to be what works best to get me back down again. I'd really like to be closer to LDW. I've had some coffee with heavy cream, but am not really hungry yet... Making a T.J.'s run today, which is always fun.

Over the years, based on a lot of food/weight tracking, I’ve observed that weight gain (for me, at least) seldom follows a day of “indulgence” – the weight gain kind of sneaks up on me several days later …
I think that this is because:
And if it’s too much salt, it takes a day of two of drinking LOTS of water, with an attendant gain the next day or so – but it does correct itself (and I can always judge that by the fit of my rings). Do any of you others see the same pattern? I keep reading posts where someone almost immediately gains weight (perhaps the next morning from an evening indulgence) – for me that simply means fluid retention and/or “irregularity” … Comments???

I definitely feel the water weight hang on with the salt. Ankles and hands
also feel that uneasy heavy feel the day I had chicken day vs. Fish day. I'm not going to do dairy or grains in P4 ever,so I have to find some carbs that "treat" my tummy nice. |

Today is officially the first day of P3. I am going to have to do a CD tomorrow - definitely.
My dh and I attended a cheerleading banquet for my step daughter today and of course, all the food there was not P3 friendly- nothing!!! I ate food that would make any hcg'ers cringe even at the thought of it. Anyway, I always weigh myself in the AM and PM (I know you are only supposed to weigh once a day in the AM). I like to see what the scale says at night though. I am up 4 lbs from last nights weight and up 3 lbs from this mornings weight. I am sure I will not drop a thing overnight, in fact, I will most likely gain even more as the night progresses. I know the weight gain is all my fault and I shouldn't be complaining.... I did take a water pill or 2 to try to get the sodium and extra water weight out of my system asap. ![]() Oh, and then to top this week off my bday is Tues and dh's is Wed. I have a recipe for a low carb cheesecake that I am planning on making for us. Maybe Thursday if my weight is not down to where it should be I will do the meal plans in Biz's Holiday Recovery Guide. That should get me back down to where I need to be. Hope everyone is having a much better P3 experience than I am....

Hey girls-sorry I've been out most of today!!
Leona-great job starting the thread. sorry your experiment didn't work. That's stinko!! ![]() Kelly-hope you won't need that CD tomorrow. That's a rough start. I was at an all day tournament for dd yesterday myself, so I sympathize w. the food choices . you can do it!! And !!!Apple-congrats on that long round!! WTG!! Hope you have an easy P3!! Bonnie-lots of people have that "second day effect". I don't seem to have that happen. I tend to gain instantly!! So, even w. 8 hours at the vball tournament, and trail mix for dinner , Voskos and ham and cheese. I am back to LDW today!! Wow!! Today we went to Sweet Tomatoes. I know I will be up tomorrow. But, since I was AT LDW today, I decided to enjoy myself a bit. I was pretty good. I did have 1 tiny choc. chip cookie, and there was likely starch or flour added to the broc. cheese soup. But, overall I was a good girl . I totally overate (as I always do!! It's so yummy!) but it was almost all salad, some steamed veggies, bowl of broc cheddar soup w/ added cheese, bowl of SF berry mousse, chicken noodle soup w/o the noodles . In al it was more cals than I should have in 1 meal. And I had choc. almonds too. I deserve to be up tomorrow. We'll see I guess. Nothing I can do to change it now! But, we'll see. I have GY in the fridge and haven't needed a CD yet. Those who were asking what I was gonna' add back first in P4 next week - I'm not sure. I have already added back the froyo (SF this far) and the choc almonds (which have sugar in them). I'd like to enjoy some steal cut oats. I like them w/ cinnamon, splenda brown sugar and splash of cream . That might be my bfast next week. Hmmm. I think that's my first P4 meal. From there I'd like to add sweet potato or sweet pot fries. They're the 2 starchier things I miss most. I will see how stable I am and take it from there. Ideally I'd like to have the occasional baked good. I did have a tiny nestle tollhouse cookie today . I couldn't resist!! It was tiny, and warm and only 90% cooked-my fave!! Sigh. We'll see what tomorrow brings. I have GY in the fridge if I need it Have a good night!!

Leona- thanks for starting the new thread! Sorry your experiment didn't work out for you. Wish I had some great advice, but you know I'm just figuring this out myself.
Bonnie- love your post! I agree with it, but I'm one of those that usually sees it immediately, guess we are all just different. The salt gets me every time, for several days. apple2peach- Welcome! Hope this P3 goes well for you! Kelly- welcome to P3! Sorry you had a tough 1st day food wise. Hope the scale is kind in the morning! Happy Early Birthday! Mine's Friday, and I was trying to figure out a "legal" treat too. Cheesecake Yummy! Julie & Theresa- Hello! Got ya on the other thread! Been MIA today, daughter came home from college for the day (surprise) so we spent the day shopping in the garden departments. Fun! Now I have so much to do tomorrow outside before I go back to work Tues., but that's my favorite "busy", I love playing in the dirt! I'm P3D7, up +.4 this morning. Thrilled b/c I added 250 cals yesterday, 2250 total. Thought I'd need a CD today b/c when I went to bed I weighed 125.6 (ldw is 121.4), but when I woke up it was only 120.2, I just don't get how you can lose that much sleeping. Not that I'm complaining. Loving this P3! Hope you all have a nice evening! |

Ya'll are giving me the hungries
Yesterday I did the same thing! Ate some homeade gluten free pretzels and oohh noo it hit me hard. Bloating, nausea, and bamm headache. Cheating made me feel like a bad hangover. So I weighed + 2.5 last night ughhh. Chugged a bunch of water and woke up to LDW,whoo that was a close one. Water is my bestie this week. What is everyone using to count calories this week? Does anyone follow %? |

Good morning ladies. Sorry, I've been missing for the last few days. I took another trip to Georgia this weekend, that's 2 weekends in a row that I've done that drive. I'm absolutely exhausted and have a lot of housecleaning and laundry to do to make up for being away from home for 2 weekends.
Anywho...I'm still maintaining great!!! I'm still 1 lb. below my LDW. I started P4 on Saturday but I haven't really incorporated any P4 foods yet, I'm absolutely afraid to for fear of gaining. I did have a glass of wine on Saturday night for the first time since starting P2.Do any of you have any good P4 food suggestions that I can start to gradually add? |

hi everyone! I am having a terrible time stabilizing!! As of this morning I am up 7.2 in just a week!!
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I have a feeling this will be a Correction Week, instead of a Correction Day. I did have a couple of days where my calories were down, but I can't see why that would cause such a huge jump. I have racking my brain trying to figure out what is going on and so far the only thing I can think of is that I added in almond and coconut flour. I am wondering if I have either had too much, or whether my body doesn't like it either. I made some great chocolate chip cookies (SF) with "Just Like Sugar" and coconut and almond flour. It's very discouraging, but I am NOT giving up. Soooo, for today I will do another GYCD (it's all I have in the house for a CD) and then I will do a Chicken Thigh day tomorrow and see where that puts me. ![]() I wanted to start working out this week too, just walking on the treadmill, but I am thinking I should wait until I get stabilized. Any thoughts????? ![]() Any suggestions would be appreciated.....or hugs..... ![]() I read the end of this book and I win, dang it!!! ![]() |

OMG Drew you and I are correction week buddies. I'm soooooo mad. Did a GY day Saturday but put way too much fruit in it and didnt loose a thing. I'm 3.8 over now and so I want to ditch that plus get some wiggle room.
I weighed the fruit this time. ![]() so yesterday I went crazy with food and added another pound. Good going huh? That was smart. Now I feel sick and I'm hungry at the same time. I send you hugs! We can do this!!! Be strong with me!! lol Here's the plan... for today 1. 32 oz GY and 8oz strawberries water thats it. tomorrow 2. Chicken thighs all day, water No excersize, plenty of sleep... Lets see what that does?

Hey Girlies, I need some help with something else here. I told DH this weekend that I was starting a second round of P2 in 3 weeks and he almost flipped out. He seems to think that I've already lost enough and doesn't want me to lose anything else. His exact words were, "Your butt is already too small", LOL
I personally wont be happy until I'm at least 170 or 175. What would you do? Would you keep going to make yourself happy and comfortable, or would you stop for DH? |

Good morning girls!!
Drew-BIG to you!! That's so frustrating!! I'd be upset too!! you have worked so hard!! I am almost sure it's the cookies. Too much too soon. Keep it clean this week. Whole foods, no baked goods, even LC ones. Take a deep breath, do your CD today and see where you are in the morning. Maybe you'll drop 6lbs like Theresa did!! Hang in there. I'm doing a GYCD today too, if there's comfort in that!! Oh, and I'm waiting a bit longer to add exercise back in. I'm afraid of the scale. Going to start C25K again April 1. Almost to P4 at that point. Lara- Big to you too!! I guess we should start a GYCD club today!! You'll be back down tomorrow. I still can't believe you didn't lose anything on your GYCD last week! ![]() Tiffany-welcome home. 2 wkends away and below LDW!! You've got this down!! Not sure about another round and dh's request. My dh doesn't want me to do another round either (like I want to!!? ) but I too would like to lose some more. I'm gonna' enjoy a break, eat a while, exercise a while and see where I am. If I have truly reset my metabolism, and add the exercise while maintaining the scale weight, I may try a JUDDD like approach to drop 5 more lbs. We'll see. For now, I'm concerned w. getting back in my window (which I'm sure will happen). Then staying there for 4 more weeks. Well, as expected I gained my usual 2+lbs from my Sweet Tomatoe's lunch yesterday I had a LOT of salad, which I know is heavy and bulky, but come on!! Every time? I make my own salad (olives, feta, cuc, onion, peppers, HB egg) and add the Greek dressing. Could they put starch and sugar in all of that? And the soup, I only had 1 small bowl b/c I know they put flour in it to thicken it, but it's broc cheddar. And some SF berry mousse. I did have that one little cookise, but still find it amazing I'm up 2lbs? I'm totally fine with it, and even expected it. I stocked up on GY yesterday . Planning to eat that all day. I don't know if I'll make it a true CD, may have chicken for dinner. I'm sure I'll be back down in my window tomorrow. Not worried one bit . Have a great week!! |

apple- Yay for lwd today! I use ******, started 2 weeks ago, love it! I do 70% fat 15% carbs 15% protein and it's been working well so far!
Drew- sorry it's not going so well. Maybe correct and start over with the basics? I'm no expert, this is the first P3 I'm doing correctly, but I'm adding things in VERY slowly. Hope it works out for you quickly! Lara- sorry to see you up too! Sounds like a good plan to get it back off. Good luck! Ladybates- sorry DH is not liking the idea of another round. Really helps when they are supportive. I do think you need to be happy with yourself first, and hope you figure out what's best for you! You've done great so far, Big Congrat's! Julie- sorry your up too, dang restaurants! Enjoy the GY! I'm up another .4 today, day 8. Still excited I'm .8 below ldw, and haven't seen it since I started. I ate 2250 calories yesterday, added 100 each of the last 2 days, gained .4 on each. Everyone tells me to push it high on the calories but I think I'll cut it back 100 today. Don't like going up. Hope to find the sweet spot this week. Lots of yard work for me today. Hope you all have a nice day! Tonya |

Apple - Glad you woke to a nice surprise, LDW! I try to keep %'s like Tonya does, 70% 15% 15%, and I use ****** to calculate
Tiffany - Awesome maintenance! I don't blame you being afraid to add in P4 stuff. Personally, I'm not adding back in any grains at all, or starches. Some sugar might be ok here and there, but even then not for a loooong time! Sorry your DH isn't on the same page as you, they rarely are. My DH wishes I was a bit heavier, mostly because the 'girls' get small when I'm at this weight, but I still have a bootie, so it's all good! I do think it's important we are happy in our own skin, and he fell in love with YOU not necessarily your body. I'm sure you guys will be able to come to a compromise, and I'm sure he will love your body at any size! ![]() Drew and Lara - So sorry... There's really no one way that works for everyone. I would probably balance my CD's with a normal, clean P3 in between each one, so I wasn't doing a CD every day, but every other day. Also, I'm on P3D19 and still haven't added in any nut flour or baked goods, even lc ones. My last P3 I did that right away and had one heck of a time. I do eat 1Tbl of PB each day, but that's as much nuts as I'm allowing myself. I know some people do great with lc baked goods right off the bat, but I'm not one of them. I hope you'll be able to get back down quickly...Julie - Oh man! That restaurant food is no good I tell ya! I'm sure you'll be back where you want to be tomorrow, no problem. It's encouraging to see how well you've done! KUTGW! Tonya - Way to go, you're schooling us all! ![]() I'm back down to where I was before my increased calorie experiment, 119.2. I feel like my body is doing some kind of crazy holding water in my gut thing though. It's weird, I can actually hear it sloshing and squishing around when I push on it, first thing in the morning when I haven't had any water for 8+ hours! I'm hoping it goes away whenever TOM decides to show up... Officially 2 weeks late today. I'm glad I'm at least this late because I have my first laser hair removal appt tomorrow! Kinda nervous about that... I bought some GY from Trader Joe's yesterday, has anyone used their full fat plain GY before? The label says there's 14 carbs and only 9 protein. I thought a good GY would have at least = of each? Maybe that doesn't really matter so much. I'm probably just going to let it hide in the back of the fridge for if I need to do a CD. |

My update... I've been enjoying a WIDE variety of food and my weight has been perfectly stable now for 2 weeks with the exception of the bump up after the weekend away for B-day, which 2 CD's took care of. HOWEVER... my perfectly stable point is............ +12 to +14 ABOVE LDW... so I have not great accomplishment to brag about! BUT I have eaten everything and anything: bread, popcorn, pasta, pizza, etc and have stayed perfectly between 158&160. I decided that since I can handle these carbs that I'm going to stay with having some whole grain carbs along with my fruit, veggie, and dairy carbs and give JUDDD a go. I am NOT starting at 20%. My goal is to hit 25-30% on the DD's to start with, then if I can go lower eventually I will. I'm also NOT weighing myself except every week or so and always after a DD. I don't want to get discouraged. BTW, I'm in phase 4.... and am hopeful that within a couple weeks I'll be close to that LDW or I might just completely go OP and do a quicky 21 day VLCD round to get off the rest of the weight before my Nieces Wedding in May. THAT is a LAST resort though. I really do NOT want to do another round if JUDDDing will do the trick. Julie... I'm an oatmeal fan to and had it for breakfast this morning!! It is my first DD and my DD goal in calories is to fall somewhere between 400 & 700 calories which would be 20-30% less than my UD amount. I did put in Light exercise 1-3 times a week since I do 2-3 aerobic miles 5-6 times a day and a weight routine 3 times a week. Which reminds me..................the gal who asked about adding exercise. No matter WHEN you add it you will most likely experience a bump up on the scale. So do it when you are comfortable dealing with that bump up. I added exercise round 1 and gained but then when right back down. Added exercise this round, round 3 and gained but did not go back down. BUT I decided that I didn't want to stop exercising this time and I'm so close to a normal BMI and I really want exercise to be part of my daily routine. Today I've already eaten around 600 calories and done 2 aerobic miles. I'll keep you posted.... I'm super nervous and really the only thing that pushed me into this... because I've been putting it off for weeks now (I had planned on starting phase 3 with JUDDD), was reading the JUDDD thread about what a persons greatest fears were about starting JUDDD. I read there that many of them have had the same fears as I have... and decided what have I got to lose. I can try to do CD's ... TONS of them or I can try to diet every other day.. and not push myself to do the 500 cal a day at first... which many on that forum say is OK. Alrighty... babbled on enough, time to get some dishes done and get a shower before I have to head out for the evening! Have a super day everyone!

We WILL figure this out!! ![]() I am going to cut out the cookie and the SF chocolate for now and see if that helps. I will also be sticking more closely to Induction type eating. I may be going to Hawaii in October, so you KNOW that has put the pressure on! In a good way, of course!! ![]() |

So I was up 4.8 lbs from LDW - not surprising with the food choices I had on Sunday. I, too, did a GY CD today, seems like several of us chose that CD. I LOVE the GY CD. I think it's my favorite, although, I do like the egg CD but one can only eat so many eggs in one day before you feel like you want to eat something else. Hopefully, I will be down some tomorrow. However, regardless of what my weight is, I am not going to do another CD until Thursday if needed. I am hoping it will just correct itself, like others have stated previously.
Lildrew ~ do you have Biz's Holiday Recovery Guide? It's a 3 day meal plan for overindulgences and people have stated they lost anywhere from 4 - 10 lbs eating the food choices she recommends. PM me if you want more information. I have yet to try it but may have to at some point. Shirleychef ~ it seems like people stabilize very well doing JUDDD. Keep us updated on your progress. Julie ~It does seem odd with the foods you had at the restaurant that you would be up 2 lbs. Maybe it was the cheese and sugar/starch combined. I am obviously no expert. It stinks when you have to inspect every single item that goes into your mouth and wonder...how much am I going to gain from eating this? ![]() Ladybates ~That's a tough one....it's drilled into our brains that we should lose weight for ourselves and no one else. Although, we want to look good for our spouses, so in essence we are losing weight for ourselves and them. Would I continue if I was in your situation? That depends on just how comfortable I was at my weight now. Whatever your choice is, do it to make yourself happy. Your dh is obviously thrilled with your new look anyway. apple2peach ~ When I follow my calorie intake for my LDW, I keep my fat % up failry high. I am not sure how to link a thread. Here is one that states the different types of percentages others have used: Calculate fat, protein, carbs, etc while in P3. To find this I have sorted by thread and this particular one is on page 10. Hope this helps. DoingitRight ~ Happy Early Birthday to you! I was going to make a LC cheesecake tonight but I was too lazy to do it. I told my dh that I would make it for us later in the week. icecreamjunkie ~ love your screen name Thanks to everyone for the early birthday wishes ![]() |

Lil Drew,
:Hugs: I do believe you right, that nut flour was likely the culprit ![]() Hope correction day beats those numbers down! LOL Think our bodies aren't ready for those "flours" until P4 perhaps. Your cookies do sound delish though Happy dropping |

![]() I hope your chicken thigh CD goes well for you today. You just reminded me of my chicken thigh incident yesterday. I left 2 chicken thighs in the fridge yesterday morning before I left for work and asked DH if he would season them and bake them so that I could come home for lunch. Well, he did exactly what I asked him to do...maybe I should have also told him to turn the oven off and take the chicken out because that's exactly what he forgot to do before he left. They cooked in the oven for 8 hours since I came home late for lunch. OMG...they were charcoal black, Lol. ![]() ![]() I ended up having to eat GY for lunch. |
