WOE: one day at a time!! LC!
Start Date: July 14, 2003 - every day!!
Lara-sorry you had a bad day yesterday. Hope today is better!!

Drew-WOW!! Great drop from your GYCD. Hope your chicken day is good too!!

Tiffany-that cruise is a great motivation!! You're doing great!!

Kelly-hope your GYCD worked well for you!!

Jean-I'd have a hard time upping my fat w/o dairy. Maybe avocado? Are you a CO fan? Many use that to up their fats. I gain on it, so I'm not adding that yet.

Tonya-you really have done so well this round. And at that low a weight? WTG!!!

I'm down 2.6lbs from my GYCD back to 0.2 under LDW!! That's my happy place!! I know I'll regain a bit today (always do for some reason). But I hope to make good choices, will be eating at home and should be still in my LDW area tomorrow.

Life it getting a bit busy lately. All good stuff, but less time to hang out w. my LCF's . I'll be around more soon. Starting C25K Sunday. I need some structure!!

Yippee, I'll have another C25K buddy . I'm starting C25K Sunday, too. I'm really not looking forward to the gain from adding exercise, but I need to get moving. Hopefully the gain will only be for a few days and then I can go back to normal.

Thanks Julie, I guess it was an extension of Sunday, my sisters dog Moose had to be put down cause he had cancer and it was too painful. I hate to see my sister like that, she took him in because he was agressive and no one else could handle him.. shes a dog trainer. So sad.

On a good note I really like yogurt. lol This seems to be much easier than a steak day if I can get through it. Maybe I will drug myself at 6pm and go to bed. Sometimes a person needs extra rest.

Kelly can u send me Biz's guide too, Thanks
And Happy Birthday too!

Jean
If you do not do dairy and obviously you cannot have starch in phase 3 anyway, so I would recommend you try some good quality expeller pressed coconut oil. If you like coconut then you can also get the virgin. Expeller pressed has little to no coconut flavor but all the very healthy MCT's and fat that will help your body, thyroid, adrenals, etc. It also helps your metabolism, decreases candida yeast bacteria, cleanses parasites, and heals many skin issues (psorisis, exema, dry skin, and stretchmarks). You can eat it by melting it in tea, cooking your meat & veggies in it, and just off the spoon...if you are able to choke it down! You can also use it topically on your stretch marks, feet, and any other area that you want to become baby soft and smooth. :-)

Olive oil is a good fat too but it must not be use for high heat cooking. IMO it is best to use as a dressing so you don't damage the good stuff in it.

UGHHH.... every 2 weeks... YUCK! I'm in the same boat with late TOM, I'm usually clock work but I know hcg plays a number on us. The last two months I was 5 days early and it lasted about 14 days each time. I guess my body finally decided to take a break for a little bit.

I thought about giving JUDDD a try but I've never been one that can count calories. That would make JUDDD so difficult for me, it's too much work.

Honestly... that is my hardest part and the #1 reason I keep putting off doing JUDDD b/c I HATE counting calories. Yesterday I did NOT have a very good DD... TOM hormones are playing a part in my cravings I'm sure. But today I plan to have a decent Up day and the funny thing is... after being hungry often yesterday... I'm hardly hungry today GO FIGURE!!

I'm going on a cruise in December, so I know how you feel. Gotta get my swimsuit body ready.

You gals will be sexy in your suits no doubt!!

happy tuesday everyone, I've been MIA all weekend

So DD on Sunday went a little far so I didn't weigh yesterday morning cause I just didn't want to be depressed, though I deserved it.

UD yesterday and my husband and I took the day off to go see the Hunger Games. I did have popcorn and had that planned in cause it's movie popcorn, I never eat it, and it was the hunger games, so gosh darn it I ate it and enjoyed it till I got a tummy ache a little while later

So today is a DD but I've yet to do a CD and have maintained at or below LIW so I can't complain at all really

trying to get caught up on the thread but looks like everyone is doing pretty well lately which is awesome to hear!

Yep Shirley, I have TOM faithfully every 2 weeks. This has been going on for about 3 months now. It doesn't bother me as much as it does DH . I haven't seen my dr. about it yet but when I called and talked to his nurse she suggested that maybe I'm experiencing early signs of menopause . I refuse to take any of the suggested meds for it...I'm only 35 and too freaking young for this.

I would take Shirley's advice on all accounts. I have avoided dairy on all rounds till this one. This time around I am using cultured dairy every day, but for the probiotic benefit. It's not been hurting me yet... But def do the avocado, coconut oil, and olive oil.

Tiffany - Hcg always seems to screw up my cycle. Normally I'm every 30 days like clockwork... Last round it took several months to get back on track. I think I was several weeks late for at least 2 months before things got back to normal.

MY TOM's were right on time the first 2 rounds. My third round was completely different and now that I'm in phase 3, I'm late like Leona. Hopefully once your body will adjust back to normal after a while. 35 is WAY to young for menopause IMO unless you have a family history of Early Meno.

Leona... I'm so glad you mentioned Avacodo.. I ALWAYS forget to mention it when folks ask about good fats b/c I only just started eating them myself.. I LOVE them but am not in the habit of using them regularly yet.

Leona-how is it going today? You came by, but left us hanging .

Tiffany- on the bi-weekly TOM. had to at your dh comment. Mine was ticked that I got it early this month. You're WAY too young for memopause, it's def. the hcg. Does it to me too, but only a week early.

Lara- At least you like the GY!! I love it, and don't even mind my CD's. Although, last night at Freddy's w. the fam, I was jonsing for a burger and those shoestring fries!! Sigh. Had my diet pepsi and toughed it out. Sorry about your nephew dog I'm a big dog lover now and couldn't imagine putting one of my "boys" down.

Drew - great loss on the cd, you'll get where you want to be!

Lara - sorry you have had a rough few days... I hope things are better for you today.

Heather - What did you think of the movie? Have you read the book? DH and I thought it was pretty good, but didn't love the cast for some of the characters, and thought the filmography was a bit too bouncy in some scenes.

Morning all, I am down .2 today, so .2 above LDW. Getting in just over 1600 calories a day seems to be my sweet spot. Oh, well. I had roasted beets for dinner last night, and they sure hit the spot. I'm going to have some more for lunch today. Had a huge breakfast of sauteed broccoli/cauliflower w/ scrambled eggs and a side of kim chi. Of course I also had my usual cup of fresh carrot/beet juice w/ kefired cream in it as well. All in all I'm probably getting more calories than I know because of the fish oil and fresh juice... I'm getting tired of all this food logging though. Seriously tired of it. But I feel like I'd probably wind up eating more than I should if I don't keep track... Ugh. I guess I'm feeling a wee bit down today.

Leona-AHA! There's your update. for feeling down today. I SO get that "sick of tracking" feeling, but like you, feel like it really does hold me accountable. We're almost through P3 though. I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to keep up w. ******. Sigh. So tedious!! But for being right by LDW!! You've been pretty close to it this whole P3. Even having to watch. That's still a very successful stabilization. Hopefully when you up the cals, or reintroduce P4 foods, your body will remember to stay right there!!

glad to see you down today sorry 1600 seems to be your max but hey at least you got it figured out

Hunger Games....I thought it was good, not great. I have read all the books...twice I'm what my mom calls a "book snob". I don't understand why directors change things that don't need to be changed...like madge and the pin, why take that out? Theres a back story to madge her aunt and that pin that surfaces in book 2...Another thing was why Seneca Crane was in the movie so much when he didn't really surface but a couple times in the book and wasn't a big deal at all...hence they could've used some of his un-needed scene time for madge and the mayor. Last straw was Peeta in the end *spoiler for those who haven't read the books* He lost his leg in the book and that's very instrumental for the next book/movie...how they spin this will be beyond me. All in all the acting was way better then Twilight (which was another huge disappointment for me!) but I didn't seem bothered by any of the actors in their parts, Woody Harrelson-phenominal as Haymitch and Sutherland is a good President Snow...funny that I don't like the actor who plays Peeta, I think he's not that good looking and I guess i just didn't picture him in that role. I like Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss though.
If anyone has read the Host by Stefenie Meyer, the movie comes out May 2013...I've learned my lesson after HG and TW not to get hyped up anymore for my "book movies"....again, sorry Book Snob here, I'm just a sucker for pertinent details

I wish it was just the HCG that was screwing up my cycle, but I didn't start HCG until January. My cycle has been really messed up for almost a year. It got worse back in December when I had a cycle for 3 weeks straight and then every 2 weeks from that point.

One of my daughters went through a similar pattern - she was finally diagnosed with PCOS (after being told she was going through early menopause, at the age of 37) - which also screws up weight - if I were you I'd start trying to figure out (with a doctor I trust) what is going on - I don't know if pre-menopausal symptoms include more than a time or two of odd cycles, I know that I simply started having a cycle perhaps every other month, than skipped 6 months, then nothing (at age 50+).

Thanks Bonnie. I've never heard of PCOS but I'm searching WebMD right now. It would be great to have some answers. My current problem is that I really can't see a doctor about it because my husband lost his job due to being diagnosed with MS (multiple sclerosis) and he was our means for medical insurance. Now I'm looking for a job with benefits.

Heather-call Sunday a MD and move on. you're doing great!!
Julie... I cannot keep my own WOE straight either!! I have been so wishy washy the several weeks which is why I ended VLCD in the first place. I'm on phase 4 now and decided to plunge into JUDDD. I did 2 CD's in a row at the beginning of last week and lost like 4 pounds. Then I stayed right at about 157-158 bumping up to 160 every couple days then right back down even with eating whatever I wanted: oatmeal, pizza, popcorn, etc. I just didn't feel like doing CD's... I know it sounds AWEFUL! This week... I'm waiting for TOM to come, yet wishing it wouldn't and finally decided to plunge into JUDDD. My first down day wasn't very DOWN I came in around 900 calories. Today was my first up day and I made it count LOL! I have not binged but I did eat a lot of my favorite foods, I even had MILK... and it was YUMMY! Tomorrow the plan is to come in under 700 cals... I'll let ya know how I do. TOM feels like it should hit me hard soon, probably not the best time to start a new WOE, but I really would like to get back to LDW by May 17th and I'm hoping that JUDDDing will get me there.

It is always VERY encouraging to see those of you who are sticking to your LDW like GLUE, and correcting when you bump up! It helps me to keep things in perspective that it really IS possible... one of these days!

Will be praying you will be able to find a job soon so you can get some help from a good Dr. So sorry about hubby. I have a dear friend with MS and it is tough when she has bad days. She almost lost her eyesite this winter... it was scary, the MS attacked her eyes... she ended up on steroids and a few other drugs for a couple weeks but she got her sight back, PTL! I cannot imagine what you are going through with hubby, especially without proper medical care.

He lost his job because of being out sick so much due to his MS. Not to mention all of the Dr's appointments that he had to miss. It was at that point that we decided that he needed to simply go on disability, so that's where we are now going through the long process of waiting to be approved.

Thanks Shirley for the prayers. Thank God that your friend was able to regain her eyesite after going through her steroid treatment. My husband almost lost his eyesite last year in January and still hasn't gained it all back and the Dr's say that he probably won't. Fortunately, we have been getting along okay without the medical insurance. His Dr's work with us on the cost of his medical visits so that they are affordable knowing that we are paying out of pocket. My 2 kids have been healthy and haven't needed medical attention so that's definitely a blessing. I currently have a job that I have been working for the past 11 years that pays great, but I don't have the option of having medical insurance which is why I need to find another job so that I can cover my family.

Thanks ladies for the words of encouragement and prayers. I don't complain about it because I know that our situation could be a whole lot worse than it is. I have a strong belief in God and know that He will carry us through and make a way for us to have what we need.

Ok...so I'm up 2lbs. this morning from yesterday. I'm not freaking out yet since I know that this week is my bi-weekly TOM.
I woke up with an upset stomach this morning so whatever is causing that could have caused the gain also. I started adding Metamucil to my diet last week 3x per day and I think that may be the cause. Or, it could simply be the fact that I'm addicted to my GY and am eating waaayyyy too much of it everyday. If that's the case I'll just have to be sick everyday because I my GY.

Oh no...I'm sorry to hear that it didn't work out for you. How much did you eat? What kind of GY was it? Was it full fat?

It was 32oz Full fat trader joes gy with 8oz strawberries and splenda, water and thats it all freaking day. I'm soooo anoyed lol this is the second time this week I tried it... thought id done something wrong the first time but I guess my body either doesnt like gy or there could be an underlying cause... everyone in the office is sick here and today I dont feel quite right... just dont have a clue why it didnt work but im throwing in the towel for today. I will keep it under control tho. Just like steak days dont work for Shelby for instance maybe this is my cyptonite haha.
I am sick of yogurt. I think I've eaten more yogurt this past week than in my whole life. It wasnt bad tasting and it was filling and I felt good.

I don't have much time for personals this morning but my GYday netted a 3.0 lb loss. I went from 128.2 to 125.2. However, after yesterday, which I did very well with - except I did have some cheese and a few almonds, I am 2.8 lbs away from LDW. I am only up 1 lb from yesterday's weight, which makes me 126.2 and that could be a combo of lurking TOM, bernice or just the few almonds and cheese I had.

Since tonight is dh's bday, I am not going to do a CD but attempt to play it safe. Maybe I will be back down in my window by tomorrow - who knows. I am trying not to freak out since we can have "wild swings" in weight the first week or two.

For anyone who asked, I will provide you with the information on P3 that you requested tomorrow. I have to dig through my stuff at home tonight to find it

Thanks again for all the birthday wishes and good luck to everyone today eating P3 style.

I net a big zero losses for my chicken thigh correction day.

I am having a bit of a bernice issue and I did just lose 3.6 the day before....

Anyway, I am going to eat strict P3 today and then possibly do another CD tomorrow. I am still .6 outside of my window.

grumble grumble.
