~~P3/4 Simeon's Protocol Week of March 19, 2012~~

New thread for everyone! Good luck this week ladies and stay with the program! :jumpjoy:

Ladybates 03-19-2012 12:26 PM

Thanks Shelby, I was gonna ask if someone was going to start one for this week. I don't know how, so I just have to sit back and wait.

shelbyla 03-19-2012 12:31 PM

Hi everyone and happy (?) Monday...

Well, after a grande gain from St. Pat's (4+ pounds... ), I was down 2.2 this morning to 143.1. Not the low I saw on Saturday morning but I had some shirataki noodles last night and those are "sticking with me" if ya kwim... I must say that I've tried them various times in the past but this was really the first time that I was successful. I rinsed the cr@p out of them then stuck them in a chicken stirfry-type thing. In any case they turned out very well and rounded out my DD nicely. Today is officially day 14 of JUDDD so theoretically I can start playing with calories. I am going to keep JUDDD'ing until next Saturday when I leave for Boston for a business trip. I won't be able to JUDDD effectively or consistently while there so I am hoping that I have enough enzymes built up to carry me through the week. I'm planning to do what I can fast-wise (fast for as long as possible each day) and keep it as LC as possible the rest of the time. Fingers crossed that this works!

Hope everyone has a great week!

bkm 03-19-2012 12:38 PM

Signing into this thread ... weighed 130.5# this morning - if my weight goes up to 131# I start pulling back (sort of like a "down day" on the JUDD eating plan) - hoping to continue controlling my weight this closely!

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that you're able to maintain while on your business trip to Boston. :aprayer:

julieboolie 03-19-2012 02:12 PM

Shelby-that's great you're back down from your Irish indulgences!! :D I'm Irish and didn't really get to celebrate this year :(. I wore green undies that day though ;). I'm sure you'll maintain fine on your trip. Take some LC snacks along. I can't believe I didn't gain more this weekend and that was non-LC snacks!

Shirley-so glad to hear from you. I'm sure that vaca gain will go as quickly. It's also good that dh will be CDing w. you this week. My dh doesn't like when I do CD's. He prefers when I'm in vacation/indulgent mode!! Sorry for the family stress, but like Lady said, you're totally not alone!! I ate chocolate covered raisins at 10am yesterday over stress!! :o. You'll be back down to 152 soon and then begin the great JUDDD experiment. I have a feeling you'll be quite successful w. that.

Tiffany-how's it going for you? Did you have a good weekend?

Bonnie-you sound very strong and in control. All that exercise you get must also help keep that metabolism going!!

Doing well. Seen bernice a few times today and am doing pretty strict LC. I am having my Stevia Froyo today, even though I am a tad concerned I'll see the top of my range if I'm not careful. I usually have no problems w/ it though. Had turkey, lettuce, cheese roll ups dipped in mayo for lunch. It was really delicious, and I am really full!! :stars: Haven't had roast turkey in ages and can't believe I forgot how good that tastes!! :D

Have a great week ladies!!

Good afternoon Julie. My weekend was great. I went to GA to visit family, but I was pretty proud that I didn't indulge in eating. My mom loves to cook and I usually can't resist her food:yummy:, but I did so well that I even lost a pound while I was there. :jumpjoy:
The turkey, lettuce and cheese roll ups sounds like a great lunch. I'll have to try that one day. Right now I can't seem to get enough of my big lunch salads.

heatherwagnon 03-19-2012 02:25 PM

I love that my "diet" consists of me dipping my meat in mayo  I love doing that and you'll often find me sitting in front of the fridge after turkey day dipping the leftover turkey in the jar of mayo :o :D

:hugs: Theresa!! So sorry your job is rough right now. Hope it gets better!! that the ice cream isn't better. I hate when I make a new recipe, esp. one I have to wait to try, and it's a disappointment. I can vouch for the heavy cream recipe though ;). that'll be worth the wait! So, I guess you'll be selecting words that don't use an "a"? And Thanks for the compliment on my pic. That's me by Oak Creek, sigh. Love being outside up there!!

Tiffany-you LOST a lb while home visiting? :notworthy: That's impressive!! Great job!! Enjoy those salads. Are you a Seinfeld fan? That "big salad" episode is too funny

Heather-how could I forget about mayo? I've done egg salad but been missing out!! :hyst: Ya' gotta' love fat!! :D

Off to visit my mom. Kinda' depressing at the nursing home. Been away all weekend and got the guilt "are you coming over today" call this morning! I want to encourage her, but she's not that easy to be around. Sigh.

Then off to my weekly softball game tonight. It's our last "regular" season game, then next week's the "tournament" . We have a perfect record, haven't won yet :D! Maybe tonight's our night?

julieboolie 03-19-2012 03:25 PM

Theresa- at the ingredient list. I always suspected that was the case!!

 I used to play in an adult kickball league and we had a perfect record of losing, too. It was fun to just come, play and root for the other team. Oh well...it was all in fun.
I hope your team wins tonight and break that perfect record. :yahoo:

... or maybe it's taken me this long to sort of figure out what to do - plus no TOM, no kids to feed, no job to work eating/exercise around ... :hyst:

I guess getting old has some benefits, after all! :jumpjoy:

Shelby - Thanks for always starting a new thread for us slackers!;) Your weekend gain was, I'm sure, well worth it, and it will all be off in no time. Probably after one more dd.

Shirley - Glad to see you back! I'm really glad you and dh enjoyed your trip, and congrats on (almost) 17 years! I'm sure you'll be able to get those # off w/ a few cd's, and that yogurt sounds delish! I cultured my yogurt for 24 hours as well, and then stuck it in the fridge. I figure if it's not as thick as I want it in the morning, after 10 hours in the fridge, I'll strain it.

Lady - WTG on losing while visiting with family. That shows some real will power!

Julie - I'm sorry your trip ended kinda less than pleasant, but good job on not gaining too much! Your new pic lovely!

Theresa - Sorry about the stinky day. You're moving though right? So this isn't a permanent stinky situation???

Heather - It looks like you're doing really well still, way to stabilize!

Bonnie - Doing great! It's encouraging to see your self discipline.

I'm doing ok so far today, I think... Keeping my calories lower, and going to enjoy a feta-stuffed turkey burger in a lettuce bun for dinner. The kids are thrilled I found exactly 4 patties hiding in the freezer from the last time I made burgers. They love them, and it's just the right amount since DH is at the fire station tonight. I gotta admit, I'm just as excited! :o I love a good juicy burger. Eating P3 really doesn't seem restrictive at all today. And I just finished that delish PB/kefir cream dip w/ my apple... I'm hooked.

Ladybates 03-19-2012 05:45 PM

Hey ladies, I know that we're supposed to do the full 6 weeks of maintenance before starting another round, but I'm curious to see how many of you have done otherwise and what were the results? I'm definitely doing another round but I don't know how long I'm gonna wait.

icecreamjunkie 03-19-2012 06:48 PM

Ok, so i bought my jar of coconut mana...and it is all dry and crumbly. There was little to no oil to begin with, but now....NOTHING! I dont even like eating it because it is so dry. Is this normal? I am almost glad, if it were creamy i'd inhale it! lol
What do ya'll do with yours??? I don't want to buy more if this is the way it is?!?

Leona, Thank you! I AM moving...will be near my parents and my BFF  from HS! :) So, yes the stinky poo situation is temporary..but i'm having a hard time holding my tongue!!! :annoyed: lol

Thank you Julie! It will pass...51 more days!!! lol not that i'm counting!! How was the game??

To REALLY enjoy the coconut manna you must warm it.:yummy: THEN it will be creamy and way to delicious. Just put your jar in a bowl of hot tap water, stir it every once in a while until it is all creamy like peanut butter... then you will wish you had left it hard as a rock because you might just eat the ENTIRE JAR in one sitting.... don't ask me how I know!! :hyst:

:hyst: You'll just have something to look forward to trying tomorrow. I do also make "candy" from the manna by adding cocoa powder, more coconut oil and stevia. I then like to portion it out by putting it into mini muffin papers. I put 1 TBSP in each paper. Sometimes I put in chopped macadamia nuts, chopped pecans or shredded coconut. I usually take a full jar of manna, add 1 cup of melted CO, about 1/4 cup cocoa powder and sweetener to taste. Then I put my extras in the wrappers, and pour the CM/CO mixture over it. I like making a variety of candies at once, I chill them in the freezer and put them into a container which I keep in a cooler room or in the fridge. If they get too warm they are really mushy. :yummy:

Lildrew 03-19-2012 08:53 PM

I am already at the top of my window, but I am having problems eating enough calories (gasp, I can't believe I even wrote those words!) I need to figure out ways to get them all in. Who would have thought that would be a problem!! :hyst:

I did something like this today. I took my homemade coconut manna and added honey and cocoa powder and served it as a dip for my kids apple slices. They LOVED it, said it tasted like a candy bar. ;D They don't know it was healthy!

Oh, I tasted my yogurt. It wasn't all the way cooled yet, but it seemed pretty thick. I don't think I'll need to strain it, unless there's some other benefit to straining it? It tastes really tangy though! Almost like a sharp cheddar... Is that normal? I used raw milk combined w/ pasteurized cream from the store.

Hello from work till you drop land - LOL!

I'm holding pretty steady at 5-6 pounds above LIW. Stinks but at least it's not MORE! I still can claim my 100+ loss though, and I do a lighter day or a CD every week at least to keep things in check.

Went out to a friend's 50th birthday party and even had some starch (just a bit) and then some alcohol, the next day was up but then ate light-ish and had zucchini pizza my DH just loves (and if he grates the zucchini, why not!) and was down back into my 5-6 pound range.....

See ya all again when I can before April 17th! (((HUGS)))

icecreamjunkie 03-20-2012 05:17 AM

I was down a lb this morning....back to 265.4! there is my plus note for the day.....
as for work.....7:45 and it had already STARTED! OMG I am going to be having a REALLY bad day and totally go off on someone around here....and that is NOT like me!!! :venting:

i will be back around later on when i have more time!
:hugs: to everyone!!!!!

I am still trying to figure out what causes some batches to be REALLY tart and others totally mild. I cannot figure out if it is both a combination of the yogurt we chose to use as a starter AND the longer ferment... or if it is just one or the other. It seems to have something to do with the starter yogurt, since I've done some longer ferments and had very mild yogurt still.

CM with honey & cocoa powder sounds YUMMY.. I might have to make that for my Usborne book party that I'm hosting next Friday. I plan to feed my friends real food: soaked grain buttermilk coffee cake, apples with dip, and veggies with homemade ranch. NONE of my friends are real food foodies like me, so I usually just cook junk if I have a party... not this time!! :)

Sounds to me like you are doing AWESOME and finding manageable way to maintain your losses.. I've been told often that skinny people follow days of indulgence with a lighter day.... those of us with weight issues don't realize that it really is "normal" to cut back for a day or two after some indulgences b/c we are so used to SEVERE binges then restricting our selves for a LONG time rather than a day or two. So I say.. YOU GO GIRL!!! You are doing AWESOME!!

YEAH :jumpjoy::jumpjoy: :congrats:on the happy scale day... and UGHH :annoyed: about work... hopefully it won't turn out as bad as it appears so far. :-(

My update...........................
Well, as you know my week w/o hubby then weekend away netted us a very large gain. :cry:Hubby & I did a steak day on Sun: I lost 1.6 (due to cheating), hubby lost 2. Monday we did a protein shake day: I lost 3 pounds, hubby lost 2 (YEAH.. I FINALLY had a day where I lost more than him!!:jumpjoy: Hee Hee!). Today we are doing an over easy day. I still have 6 more pounds I want to see gone before JUDDDing. Hubby has about 5-6 pounds more too, but that will put him really close to LDW. I'll still be above LDW when I start JUDDDing... unless the CD's are still working then I might just continue to CD my way closer to LDW b/f starting JUDDD. I'm down to where I was before our trip.... now to lose the "hubbies away = stress: weight" that I gained last week Mon - Thurs. Hubby had gained a lot due to his week of travel then our trip.

I'll keep you guys updated on our CD successes... I'm planning on them all working... Positive thinking... RIGHT?!?! :-)

Here is the plan:
Today: Over easy day
Tomorrow (Wed): Greek Yogurt Day
Thursday: Egg day

That will give us a total of 5 CD's in a row. I've chosen to alternate them between meat protein days and dairy protein days. So far so good! If the CD's stop working I'm considering a 3-5 day stint of Atkins Fat Fasting which is usually good for a 1-2 pound a day average loss for me... and is ever so enjoyable eating 1000-1200 calories that are 80-90% FAT... YUMO!

I don't think I told you guys that last week I had some dental work done on Tues while hubby was gone. Well... this dentist did something BAD to one of the teeth she filled. I actually had to take Tylenol with codeine so I could sleep last Tuesday and have had a constant nagging pain, along with horrible shooting pain if I try to chew anything on that side. Today I finally have a vehicle so have an appt at noon to see if she can fix whatever she did... or if I'm going to end up getting it pulled b/c it is too severely damaged. I'm NOT looking forward to this... but I am looking forward to some relief in the pain. This morning it was tough eating the burger/egg. Too much chewing.... Thankfully the GY day tomorrow will give me a break from chewing.

Have a great day everyone!

Lildrew 03-20-2012 06:43 AM

It's a CD for me today. I was up another 1.0 today. All this talk about JUUUD has me very interested.
