Theresa - I did my first round with my doctor's HCG ($80/bottle). My second round I finished what was left of my prescribed HCG and then used an (old) bottle of HCG pellets (from Netrition, InterMountain? or something similar?) - both seemed to work equally well for me. I find that with either the drops or the pellets, I get a strong appetite reduction - if you don't get that with the pellets then I would guess that they might not be as effective for you...

And I will definitely buy the drops and/or pellets if ever I decide I need another round ...

Just re-read your post - there is no mixing with the drops (at least not the ones I used) - I just counted out the drops onto a spoon, then placed them under my tongue (I was afraid of contamination with saliva if I dropped them directly into my mouth) ...

Yay! I love the results from mine. One thing I just found out is that if you have residual dark lines on your legs, the trick is to exfoliate the he11 out of them (obviously after you're completely healed). Makes a huge difference.

I usually eat about 6 thighs on chicken thigh cd. Have two more for dinner and you are all good!

I would give the hhcg a shot. You can always switch again if it doesn't work. It's worth the $40.

That approach worked for me too Julie--right up until last round. Still not sure why this round was different but oh well! Oh, and add me to the list of TOM girls. (Seriously--the pheromones really SHOULDN'T work like this! ) I am getting phantom TOMs though because of the Mirena. Was it ICJ who had that as well? Yay for you Lara! So happy to hear it!

For anyone that I didn't hit--Leona, ICJ, all y'all, hope everyone is doing well. I with you guys in all the ups and downs!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So, update from me. Yesterday was a DD that turned into a completely weird day, starting at 4am with the crank call. I ended up leaving work early and taking a 3 hour nap. I held strong until about 7pm...then...I went completely off the rails! Almonds, fudgey coconut peanut butter thingys, bacon... In any case, I was down 1.5 this morning to just over my window--143.7--which is completely fine with me. I am hoping that today's UD brings me down as opposed to up, but in any case, I am off Saturday morning for a business trip to Boston. It remains to be seen how well I can stick to any kind of plan but hopefully it won't be too too bad. Any LCF's in the Boston area? I always enjoy in-person meet ups... After, I have a visitor coming into town (old college roommate) and there will be eating and drinking there too. But I need a break so it's all good.
Happy Friday, everyone!
My weight didn't go down at all, so today is another GYCD for me.
I think my problem is defintely not taking in enough calories. I don't think I can be under 2000 without gains. Which on one hand YAY and on the other somedays I am just not as hungry. I have to figure out a way to get my calories in.
Any suggestions????
I know I only ever used hhcg, but I switched brands each time, always had great losses. Your chicken sounds good... I still have some chicken skin I saved from some thighs I made last month (they're in the freezer). I washed and trimmed them and laid them out on parchment and then rolled them up and froze 'em. I plan on roasting them at a high temp one of these days when DH is at work (so he won't judge me for eating yucky skin) and eating them up like chips! Maybe on Sunday...
Well, I am down only .2 today from my modified gy day, but in all honesty I still ate my full calories for the day, so no big shocker there. I'm .2 above LDW now. I slept awful, tossing and turning. Woke up with a sore back and feeling more bloated than ever... I guess I'm in kind of a stinky mood today. I've got house to clean, baking to do, laundry to wash, all before 2:00 when the babysitter shows up to watch the kids so DH and I can go watch "The Hunger Games!" Yes, we're giant children. I better get started!
OMGEE You have to let me know how the skins turn out! lol...I would totally eat that! The best part of a roasted chx is the skin!
You are doing awesome....why the gycd? Weren't you still w/in your window? Forgive me if you explained this earlier...but I'd thought you had been pretty stable? I'm in awe at the variety of foods you seem to eat...and the wine?!? yummy! I'm scared to start drinking again...though after this week!!!!
Hope you have an awesome time at Hunger! I haven't even read the book! I'm the only teacher in the building who hasn't!
I hope your back feels better! Do you know what caused it? Hope it isn't TOM related?!?
Awesome!!! Thanks so much! I was worried about being hungry...I'm an angry bear if I'm hungry!
I think I am going to go for it! Not only is the price for the trokies $80, his office visit is $140+ and he doesn't take my insurance...granted he prescribes my welbutrin, but I can get another dr to do that!
I was going to order the intermountain(?)...it seems most everyone on here that I've "met" has used hhcg and done as well and usually better than on the rx stuff...i wonder truly what the difference is?
Thanks so much for the tip! I should have ordered it w/ my order last night! lol oh well!
I wound up eating 7 total...still under my cals by a good bit...and sooooo full! lol good thing i love chicken! lol I hope i just stay the same tomorrow...so I can indulge in brisket!
I did have the mirena. Had one before and about 6-8 mos mine totally quit...then I took the old one out for 2 weeks and messed up everything when I had this one put in. However tom was only here for about 3 days and super duper light! However, never really know exactly when it will hit! It is usually when I am wearing non tom friendly clothes! Go figure....but my weight did spike on hcg and this p3 around the 16th !
That is great you were down after being "derailed" after the freaky wake up call you had...I would have been much worse than just a derailment! lol...i'm already one bad day away from a train wreck!
Have a fabulous time in Boston! I've never been further north than where I am now...well, went to DC for a week...but I don't think that truly counts! lol...I would love to hit the upper north east coast! Ohhhhh, the seafood you can get up there! Yummy eat for me!!
I was having the same problem my first week of p3....I was trying to stay around 1600...turned out I needed 2350! Once I upped it w almost 75% fat I started balancing out more. I use a LOT of avocado, pork side (uncured super thick fatty bacon), butter and of course coconut oil (cocoa crack is uh-mazing!) It is surprising how fast it adds up for me! I rely totally on ******....kinda a pain to track it all the time and sometime I have to guestimate....but for the most part I am pretty close!
I hope it stabilizes for you soon!
Thanks for the tip! I wouldn't have thought to do that. Wonder if that would work on the bruises (kidding), I think that's about the worst part. Looks like someone took a bat to my legs!
Have a great trip, and fun with the college bud!
I guess w/ the bloating it'd be nice to get that off. Hope TOM comes soon. Maybe you're Pg? Just a thought!! :rollseyes: I think you're doing great. And locking in this weight, even if you have to do lower calories than you'd eventually like to eat, should give you this as a set point to use when you do up your cals.
If I am it'd be some kind of freaky miracle! DH got snipped 6 years ago, and got a clean "good-to-go" from the doc who did it! Thank goodness, cause those pills made me some kinda crazy... and they're not that good for you.
When I make those chicken skins I well def post on here, and the recipe, if it's worth sharing. I have been pretty stable, just really have a hard time with feeling bloated. I wasn't really doing a CD, kinda more than anything just wanted an excuse to eat my GY! Lol! Honestly, I had seen some gals say it helped with bernice and I wanted to see if it would help me, that seems to be the bane of my existence, not having bernice show up. It didn't work for me, maybe if I'd done the whole day, but like I said, I wasn't really trying to do a CD. My plumbing just seems broken, so at 33, I've resigned myself to taking matters into my own hands, so to speak, if I haven't 'gone' that day. It's life I guess. It could be worse... I'd like to be able to eat more calories, but it doesn't seem to work for me. If I know I'm going to be drinking wine at night, I'll eat less for that day, usually make my dinner lighter. It's worked every time so far, except the anniversary weekend, which was eating out too. Honestly, if it weren't for my husband I would indulge in that a lot less, but he's a very bad influence.
Do you know it took me FOREVER to figure out what "bernice" was on here?!? and the gy doesn't help me w/ that, though i was really hoping it would, I forget who was saying tht it does for them...she hasn't been here in over three days...sometimes i believe that is my weight spikes....I actually had more when i was on the hcg! I'm sure I'm not eating enought veggies...but i need to do a salt flush or something!
oh, and men are just bad influences anyway!!!
..........
ok, so i get up...force the issue w/ Bernice (shouldn't all the coconut oil i consume be helping???) and dread the weigh in....kind splurged on some extra hwc yesterday.
263.4
I had 7 chicken thighs that had been pan roasted HEAVY on the pork drippings for added juiciness! , probably 5 0z of HWC in my two coffees and the chugs i take strait from the carton....why anyone would like skim milk is beyond me! and 3 tbls of CO + 1 tbs of mana.....I was over 2,000 for the day so not sure if it would be considered a CD though i didn't really need to do one...oh i did take another water pill from my dr. since i had doughnuts on my ankles and feet were puffy.
Now, I KNOW i need to be closer to 265....since 267.4 is my ldw...I'm certain i will get the today with the arrival of brisket! oh, i mean I will be SO happy to see my parents again! j/k i do love them and not just because they are bringing me brisket!
Ya'll have a great day!!
ps..i'm posting in p2/p3 too...so just ignore one of me!
Oh Lara I am so sorry!!! I never trust wings! I asked wild wings one time for their lowest carb option and the guy laughed at me. He said there wasn't a wing base that wasn't loaded with sugar...most had tons and tons of sugar in the stuff they were marinated in and then the sauce prep for them. I LOVE me some wings...but have to figure out how to make them myself! I have before...but it's been a while.
I do love the GY days!!! I hope it works out for you! Maybe it is a lot of water retention...the wings can be salty and alcohol is for sure a retainer!
I had gone to another chain of this restaurant and was ok and these wings looked and tasted the same... I think it was real coke and not diet. I'm gonna follow Tiffany's 32 oz GY with strawberries and coffee with hwc day lol lets see what happens. Tiffany can I touch you for good luck? Hahaha....
ICJ- Way to go on the scale! Enjoy your time with your parents, and the brisket, YUMMY!
Lara- sorry about the gain. I'm sure the GY will get it right back off, just sucks to start the weekend with the CD. I've not had drinks or wings yet, too scared!
I'm P3D6, weighed in at 119.8! Down .2 more and 1.6 below ldw. I can't believe this is working for me this time, so excited!
Have a great day ladies!
Good morning! I don't have much time, so I'll update real quick. I'll be back later to really 'read' through the posts.
I'm up .2 back to 119.2, .4 above LDW. I seem to be settling in quite nicely. Still wish I could be eating more than my measly 1600... The grass is always greener, isn't it!
Off I go, have a great one!
WOE: one day at a time!! LC!
Start Date: July 14, 2003 - every day!!
Lara- for the biopsy results, for the scale today. But I'm glad you celebrated last night!! I'm sure that'll be gone tomorrow, but a GYCD will probably get you below LDW, which would be quite nice!!
Theresa-WOW!! great results!! you've got quite the range there GF!! You've got that wiggle room, enjoy that brisket (and you're folks ). Have a great time!!
Shelby-enjoy your visit to Boston. Pretty there, and should be a good time of the year for a visit.
Leona- I totally agree. My dh is a BAD infulence too!! I am quite content to stay on plan (whatever plan I happen to be following at the moment) until he comes along and tempts me!! He confuses food and entertainment!! I enjoy eating out as much as the next person, but w/ this "stabilizing" phase it's the kiss of death!! I was just thinking, do you think the wine is interfering at all? I haven't added alcohol back in. I wonder b/c of the dehydration/retention factor of alcohol? Just a thought. If there's a day you feel like experimenting, maybe try to up the cals above your level (fat and protein the same weight for that day) w/o the wine and see how you do in the morning. Just a though. I'm a scientist and like to experiment .
DIR-sorry you're all battered . Hope you heal quickly and beautifully!! My legs are my downfall I have cellulite, loose skin, blood vessels etc. From the knees down it's acceptable so Bermudas and Capris are my friends, but I would love one day to be able to wear "regular" shorts, or dresses and look good!! Sigh. Maybe the exercise will help the legs. Sigh.
I'm doing well. I made cauliflower fried "rice" yesterday and mixed in my pork and it was !! I had 2 bowls !! And more almonds, which I will admit, are now going to be part of my normal menu. I seem to be ok w. it. I came in at 2200cals!! And TOM is here in full force!! Today I am down 0.2lbs but I feel confident enough to type this, I think I'm *stable* Gasp!! I have never been "stable" It's so nice!! I have a few more days of P3, which I hope go well, and then I can move on to P4. I won't go nuts, but I would like to dabble here and there. I'm cautiously optomistic!!
We've got another vball tourney today. I am living vicariously through my dd(11). She's so much like me, but way better. I am a proud mama!! She's a good player, and her coach moved her from setter (she's a great setter) to be a hitter today (she's been working on hitting at home, and her coach noticed w/o dd even asking). The other girls on the team are dramatic divas and dd is all team oriented and encouraging. I hope she has a good day and shines!! It'll be easier to eat there today now that I'm in P3.
Have a great Saturday. It'll be 90 here today!!
DIR- WTG!! You're rocking it!!
Leona- Not sure which smilie applies here . It's great you're stable right by LDW, but it's a bummer you're eating lower cals than you want to be. Is 1600 your BMR/RMR w/ the activity calculation? You're pretty tiny. My # is around 1800-1900cals/day, depending on how active I am, and I weigh 30lbs more than you. I'm sorry you're frustrated. But celebrate a bit too, in the middle of your disappointment. You're a thin, beautiful woman, who's been very successful, and has a great family and life. I suspect most women who see you envy your slim figure and assume it comes easily and naturally to you. (I've been guilty of this in the past of others). Be proud, hold your head high, and enjoy your success!! .
On that note. I will go do likewise. I still have lots of stored abnormal fat on my body, so I should consider further weight loss eventually. But not just now. I am really happy w. where I am (finally) and glad to be able to relax a bit, eat a bit, and enjoy life (a bit).
Leona- you are doing great! I agree with Julie about the wine. Maybe cut it a day or two and test eating a little more. I know most here at LCF say to eat equal grams of fat a protein (that didn't work for me). You know what that "other place" recommends... It's worked beautifully for me, my BMR with activity is about 1800, and I've been eating right at 2000 for the last 3 days and lost .2 each day. My fat grams are more than double my protein. BUT I haven't tried nuts, cheese, or drinks yet. Going very slowly. I did add eggs and bacon and lots of different veggies yesterday and still lost. Cream Cheese tomorrow!
Hope you can get to a happy place with this!
Julie- way to rock this P3! You are so stable, and with nuts! I think we all see lot's of fat we still want to lose.
I'm hoping exercise will help me with that.
Have a great time with the V'ball tournaments. Hope your daughter does great! I've got 2 girls also (15 & 20), the oldest rides & competes (on her horse), the other does color/winter guard in H.S. and does competitive cheer. They do keep us busy!
Have a great day ladies!
I know for a fact that even dark rum Bacardi select is my fav with no added sugars (stay away from Malibu coconut rum for instance) is fine and wont cause a gain...
I couldn't find Voskos so I went with Trader Joe's as per your reccommendation... its the 18% fat one... pretty good... I put blueberries and strawberries in it... and splenda of course.
I cant wait to wake up and make myself an omelet and bacon tomorrow morning.
Have a great day ladies!
Thanks to both of you! I actually have tried eating higher calories on the days DH is gone, without any wine. I've gone a couple days here and there without having any and it doesn't seem to make much difference. I know my hormones are all screwy right now, too, which may be playing a factor. I'm almost 2 weeks late for TOM, so my hormones MUST be messed up. My BMR with activity (because I'm not very active) is 1630 for my height and weight. So I am able to eat right at it without problem.
It's so easy for me to start second guessing myself though, you know? Like maybe I'm not eating right, should get more protein, less carbs, blah, blah, blah. Then I hear the voice of reason from the wonderful women here telling me what I already knew, so thanks! I've been having a hard time the last couple days, feeling like I am eating too much fat, and that it's probably not good for me in the long run. Silly, because I don't really believe that! So, I'm gonna wiggle around the numbers with my dinner and see if I can get my fat up for today without stuffing myself and feeling sick.
Thanks again guys!
I saw the up fairy last night! I was up 2.lbs BUT that is 2lbs below my ldw so I'm totally ok with that!
I over did it i think on the sour cream, cream cheese mini cheese cake I made (next time i will make 1/2 of it...it was too much for a lil bit of dessert!) and of course the extra yummy salty brisket! It was good...but i kinda made myself sick last night. Had me some smooth move tea and went to bed.
I hope everyone has an excellent sunday! M&D will be here later to start planning the logistics of a major move. SO glad I don't have to do this alone! Between them, ya'll and my bff back in Tx I feel much stonger in this transition!
Really? 32 oz Greek Yogurt and fruit and still no loss? Well at least I know I can eat that all day with no gain. I'm still 2 over, wah.
Cute pic ice!!!
The full fat is the one that you want to use.
By the way, you may want to hop over to the thread for this week...P3/P4 Simeons Protocol Week of 3/25-3/31
