hi all! I'm in p3 starting today. I'm doing things different this time... I usually make lots of p3 food but this time I froze it to pull it out in small batches in little meals, so I have to think about what I'm doing instead of just attacking the fridge (even tho its all p3 safe stuff made by me) I will have the mindset to eat when I'm hungry and enjoy what I do eat. I will savor this feeling of comfort, jeans feel good I look better etc. I will really watch the scale.

The biopsy is all done boy was that stressful. I'm glad that I did it. Now I wait until Monday for results.

Ok have a good day everyone!

GYCD'S RULE!!! Congratulations on your loss. In the couple of days following my GYCD I dropped a couple more lbs, so hopefully that same thing will happen to you.

Heather, have you tried upping your DD calories to see if you continue to stay stable? Just curious?? I know my JUDDD maintenance calories would be quite comfortable. How many weeks have you been doing this now?? I thought you entered phase 3 right around the time I did which is almost 3 weeks ago now.

I've charted out what my DD cal's will look like at 20%, 25%, and 30%. I'm thinking that even if I push the envelope and start at 35% I will kick in the activation of the SIRT1 and then can gradually work my way down. That is why I want to be at my more "stable" weight before I start JUDDDing.
Yea right now i'm in the two week induction phase (day 14 today actually) and p3 day 20 but I'm not sure what I'm gonna do with my DD cals...ugh it's confusing cause while I'm happy where I'm at it's hard not to want to continue losing if I can now that I'm almost out of p3. I'm so happy that i'm one day away from p4 and thanks to JUDDD I have yet to do a CD and the closest out of my window I got was 1.2 above and that was before I started JUDDD

Congrats on your CD results!! I love GY!! Hope it sticks well and you're back to your window tomorrow!!

Theresa-hope you're down a bit today and doing well.

I'm doing great. Down to below LDW today , even while eating those cocoa almonds yesterday!! I am really pleased with this P3!! I am eating 1900-2000 cals/day now. My RMR is about 1800, so that's a definite bonus for me!! Even w. my weekend daliances I am still at or under LDW? but In the past my body would have gained, and kept multiple lbs. I think the thyroid meds I started a while back must be helping me maintain. I feel so much better on them (my hair isn't falling out, my temps are somewhat normal, have more energy, think more clearly). I have to say, I'm in a good place!!

I hope you all have a great Hump Day!! The weekend is coming!!

Yummy, I'll have to try this tonight. I'm sure I can use splenda instead of truvia/stevia, right? I hate stevia.
.
I would imagine that you could....as long as it doesn't bother you. I like to use truvia in my sweeter things that I make and stevia in my non sweeter things. I try to stay away from splenda...but that is totally just me!

I wouldn't do a CD just yet. When I was up yesterday I simply ate GY for breakfast and lunch and then ate a nice steak w/broccoli for dinner. I was down 1.6 this morning. Of course, I still had my coffee with HWC in the morning. Maybe just try doing something simple like that today.
I brought my normal food for today...gonna stay away from the ice cream tonight though...AND I "started" full on today....so maybe that is what it is? lol...yeah, i think it was over indulgence in the HWC! Yummos!!! Still gonna have it in my coffee every morning! I'm such a rebel!
I didn't notice cabbage doing that to me...BUT I have noticed that i get a bit "gassy" when i have broccoli slaw(which i love cooked up in some butter...eating it right now! LOL) So, I will have to watch the cabbage...i wonder what it is about cabbage??? Have you tried cooking radishes? I HATE them raw...but found that i could roast them or boil them and they taste almost like pink potatoes!

WOW 2.bs is awesome!!!!

I'm sure the stress from my job is not helping with my scale either....i have been sleeping pretty well at night though! I could go home and nap right now if they would let me! lol

Good day to you all! I'm down .2 today which puts me at .4 below LDW on P3D14. I'm going to try to push may calories up above my recommended maintenance calorie level of 1600 and see what happens. Wish me success!

Anybody ever used the Kirkland GY? I think it says it's fat free, which probably isn't what I'd want, right?

Ok, I am going to go ahead and plan to eat GY for breakfast (w/ coffee of course! ) and for lunch....then depending on weight, either a light dinner or more GY....partly because i had nothing really cooked for tomorrow and I can't possibly imagine being down 4+lbs in the AM!!

Where are all my buddies?? lol....am I the only one w/o a life?!?

Theresa... you are TOOO cute "am I the only one w/o a life?!?"

I had a totally crazy day and did not stick with my CD plan of GY.. I did eat GY today but it was not the only thing I ate. I'm gonna TRY an egg day tomorrow.. I have some eggs hard boiled and lots of fresh ones from my free range girls. Which I must add are REALLY liking the weather. They usually give us just over 3 doz to 3 1/2 doz a day... today they gave us 3 eggs shy of FIVE dozen!! Wahoo!! Good thing I have lots of locals who love our chemical free, antibiotic free, free range eggs! OR our entire family would have to do a egg day here or there!

BUT now that I said I might do an egg day I'm REALLY craving kefir... might need to do a kefir green smoothie day instead.. not that is NOT a typical CD... but maybe it would work?? Guess I'll find out hey?

So... I'm nervous about getting on the scale tomorrow but I'm going to do my 2-3 mile workout yet tonight.. so maybe that will help to work off some of the LOVELY organic mint chocolate I ate today.

Tomorrow in between the rain drops I hope to get a section of my garden ready to plant onions and garlic. I walked out there this evening and found that the row I had onions in last year has about 50 onion plants already. I guess we didn't harvest them all.... OOPS... but I'm going to thin them out and let them grow away... early onions... YUMMY! Can't believe I'm ready to start planting and it is March... this is totally NOT normal for Wisconsin! I have GOT to get my tomato plants started too. The weather is so nice maybe I'll be able to get them into the ground sometime in May... so I better get them started. I need to get the peppers, broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage started too. I might buy some of that special garden material that allows the sun & rain in but keeps the bugs out so I get a decent crop of each of these this year. We are loving those lower carb veggies and it would be REALLY nice to get a bunch that I can freeze (broccoli & cauli) or (cabbage) keep cool and store for the winter.

I wouldn't use FF.. if it is all you have to chose from then add whipping cream. I like having a GY that totals about 22 grams of fat per cup.

Our first year "farming" was 4 yrs ago. We started with a garden, chickens for eggs, meat chickens, a few turkey's, 2 geese, 5 ducks, and some dairy goats. We liked the goats for milk and meat, but not all our family liked the goat milk and I didn't like that making butter and other cream based products don't work as well with goats. My Amish friend "loaned" me a Jersey cow... and it wasn't too long until we were selling the goats. I LOVE Jersey milk, its taste, texture and versatility. We lived at the little place for 2 years, then our friends who own a 300 acre farm retired and decided they wanted to travel for a few years. We are now running their farm using about 35 acres for grazing the Jersey heard, about 2 acres with the house which about 1/2 acre is my garden, and where the hens roam. Now we have the Jersey herd which we milk about 10-15 cows at a time, we always have some that are dry and getting ready to freshen. We raise any bull calves that are born for meat, plus we have pigs, turkey's, chickens for meat and chickens for eggs and we still have one lone goose.............she has been with us for 4 years and follows me around like a dog when I'm out in the yard.. she is our 'watch goose', honking loudly anytime anyone drives onto the property.

Yes, my green smoothies usually have spinach & strawberries in them along with kefir, sometimes coconut oil, flax, and protein powder. Sometimes I'll use blueberries or raspberries too. I can hardly wait for the swiss chard & kale to be up in the garden as I plan to use it in green smoothies too.

I had a busy day today... Running, running, running. I did manage to get in 1740 calories today, which is 1000 over what I'm supposed to burn in a day. I don't exercise, just trying to see what I can get away with. I am feeling really stuffed though, and am nervous it's going to put me up in the morning.

I may do a modified GY day if I'm up, just a cup for breakfast and a cup for lunch w/ a sensible dinner. Thing is though, my HM yogurt that I strained only yielded me about 3 cups after straining, and DH ate one of those today! So I've only got the 2 left to work with. I don't even know if I like GY, never had it. I do know I love my kefired cream... Maybe I'll just eat some of that tomorrow, too!

Be back in the morning!

Morning ladies. Still holding steady this morning at 189.4 with no gain or loss on the scale. I think I finally have this maintenance thing down.
I've already had my 2 cups of coffee with hwc and now I'm about to have my morning addiction...GY , I look forward to this moment everyday.

Good morning Theresa, I'm sorry that you seem to be having a rough time for the last few days . I hope that your GYCD works out again today like it did last time. Is it possibly you TOM that could be causing a gain? 6lbs in 3 days seems like a lot, there has to be an underlying cause.
Anywho...enjoy your GY, have an excellent day.

I use FF GY - I add coconut oil to bring up the fat content -typically, I add 15g CO to 4 ounces of FFGY, mix well - then sweeten (I like DaVinci caramel) - then add whatever I feel like - eg, Sensato granola, nuts, fruit, ... it tastes good!

On another thread, one of the women had a recipe for adding CO/cocoa to GY, and the chocolatey CO would harden and crackle on the cold yogurt - that's also a really tasty option.

Parlez Vous HCG? Hee hee...

Morning all, I'm up 2 lbs right out of the gate and .6 from being at the beginning at the my window. Which means I still have 2 lbs wiggle room but I dont want to start playing with CD's so I am keeping it under control today.

LOL we are the only ones who speak hCG haha....

Have a great day all.

LOL! I could have written this. Me too. I my GY and also my coffee w/ HWC!! I too feel like I'm getting comfy around my LDW (although still a bit of daily fluctuation, but that's my own fault!) and enjoying it!! So glad you're doing well Tiffany!! I know in the beginning you were a bit concerned. It's so nice to see and hear your confidence and peace w. this stage!!

Lara- Oui, je parle hcg!! I agree. I try to explain LDW and P3/P2/P4 to dh and he gives me the patented dh blank stare <crickets>. Enjoy that wiggle room and don't sweat that gain. Your body it just refilling .

Theresa-post the past few day's menus so we can help you figure it out. There must be something either not agreeing w/ you or not on plan. enjoy your GY though, doesn't seem like much of a sacrifice, does it?

Leona- dh ate 1 of your 3 cups of homemade, w/ cream, yogurt? I'd be bummed!! Hope you like it!! I would think the kefir would work the same way. Hope you are where you want to be this am. I think it's good you're upping the cals. You're consistently below LDW most days, so I'm thinking your weight is pretty stable here. hope the scale encourages you today.

Tonya-you're doing a great job!! I hope you have a great day and stay right there!!

Bonnie-I'm still too scared to add CO into my diet. That's a good way to get the fat up in yogurt. So many others use it and love it, but I gained from it a while back, and although I believe all the benefits of it, I'm not willing to take that chance just yet. Down the road, once I'm through P4, and exercising regularly again, I'd like to give it a whirl. I'm hypothyroid and the warming alone is appealing!!

Shirley-I've said it before, and I'll say it again, "can I come live with you?". The farming you've done, and are planning, sounds lovely. What a great way of life for you and your family!! I def. have a part of me that longs for open spaces, animals and the simpler life. Being connected to our own food production would be great too. I especially like the land and field openess (lived all my life in suburbia). I'm scared to make that kind of change, and dh isn't exactly keen on MORE work around the house! But I do admire (and maybe envy, just a bit, in a nice way) this opportunity you're taking and life you're living!! Good for you!!

Shelby-was that an UD? I suspect your body will just roll w/ it today. Wouldn't it be nice if it's one of those surprise drops on the scale this morning?

I'm doing well today. Up 1lbs from my choc almonds yesterday. In all, not a big deal, and actually quite encouraging. In the past, that would have been a bigger jump (as would my weekend indulgences) so I'm really encouraged. I'm pushing the cals up this week, been 1900-2200 all week, and still around LDW. (0.6 over today). That's all good in my book . Hope this next week stays nice and stable. It's my 3rd week in P3, and I think I will actually do a full P4. I'm thinking of starch/sugar options already. I don't really miss those much. I do like my choc. almonds or raisins (but I've already added those in!!) and my froyo (it'll be nice to have more flavor options, only 2 that are SF from this one place we go), but aside from occasional steel cut oats, sweet potatoe fries, or maybe a slice to toast w/ my eggs, there's not much I miss. Well, truthfully, a good piece of pizza w. crispy crust would be welcome . But, overall, I think the way I eat in P3, which is basically Atkins style (I've been doing that for almost 10 years!!), will still be my WOL. I'm content w. it.
