I'm in P2 and I need a massage...

Do you think it's really so terrible to get a massage while in P2? I could really use one.

If youre okay with getting a massage means that you might not loose the next day or gain from water weight.... then get a massage.

but looking at your stats I would say dont do it because you are losing slowly... and if it were me that might derail me. Just trying to put myself in your shoes. Plenty of people do it, but I dont. I'm super strict with everything. No massage, no pedi's, no hair coloring no fun lol.

You can wait until youre done... are you doing 23 days?

I don’t think your losses are slow. They look average/good to me. Are you closer to goal? If so, once you get closer to goal, the weight doesn’t fall off as easily.

As for a massage, if you need one (I completely feel your pain), I believe you should have it. Tell them not to use lotion or oil! If you don’t workout at ALL or ever get massages, you MIGHT be sore or retain water in your muscles. But that’s just a bit. However, if you workout regularly (before HCG) – you won’t be sore after a massage. Go ahead and get it, but drink TONS of water before and after. You’ll be okay. P2 is hard enough. I think an hour of happiness during a massage is necessary

While on P2, I brought my own oil for them to use(baby oil).

i got one after i had been in p2 for about a week. it was a necessity for me. bring your own lotion or whatever (if you are comfortable using any during p2). for me, p2 is stressful enough without being in pain to boot!

Yes, the ingredient in baby oil is Mineral Oil. To my knowledge that is the only oil permitted. Granted I did my first round in May of last year, second and last round in August of last year, but, I am sure I am remembering correctly. If not, someone feel free to correct me. Btw, I bought the store brand baby oil, was much cheaper.

Good lotion for massages

Hi everyone... I have a terrible back and was used to getting massages every 2 weeks so this diet put me at a standstill.

BUT - I've now discovered Alba Botanica Hawaiian oil-free moisturizer which is creamy enough for any sort of massage. I've found it at local drugstores here in NY in the organic beauty product section, but you can also find it on Amazon. Smells yummy too!

Going for a massage tonight

It depends on the TYPE of massage, friends.

A regular, light swedish massage would more than likely flush out a lot of fluid and would be quite beneficial.

A deep tissue massage might cause a bit of swelling/gains but that gain would only last a day or two, and if you ask me, is totally worth it.

(I am a massage therapist).
