Cheryl --

Don't get me wrong -- if I had the resources, I'd probably still be riding -- but with my life the way it is, that just isn't possible right now. Maybe again in the future -- I can hope, anyhow. I do really miss it.

The birds... well, they are perfectly possible with my current life -- all (ahem) 18 of them -- good Lord.

I think it is the rehabbing element I love the most about the birds -- I've learned a ton about avian medicine, and I know as much -- or more-- than most veterinarians about pigeons and doves.

On that note, my new little one has a ruptured air sac that I need to go tend, and she needs hand feeding again....peep! Peep!

It's funny Cheryl -- you're right -- there is only so much one can focus on at once. I am super driven right now by my art and my thesis -- and the weight has become such a secondary concern. I'm not really bothered if I gain from loading, and I think I will actually stay off the scale altogether for a while, even on protocol.

I will do the 21 days of protocol, since I want to finish all this correctly and transition to p3 correctly -- but I think I will just be satisfied with where ever I end up on the scale at that point, and call it good.

Still not sure if I am doing one more load day tomorrow, or launching -- we'll see. If I am hungry, I will do one more load day. If not, I will go ahead and launch.

I hope to catch up on personals tomorrow -- I've barely checked in with y'all this week.

I hope all of you are having a wonderful weekend! The weather here has been beautiful, besides thunderstorms we had yesterday afternoon. We went to one of the St. Patrick's Day Parades here and I actually got a sunburn - on my arms, and a line across my chest from my purse strap!!! Every other year we have to wear sweatshirts and scarves, etc, so it blew my mind to be wearing tank tops and flip flops!!

I was my lowest on the scale yesterday, 137. But I know all of the carby foods I ate and DRANK!) yesterday bumped me up, I didn't even weigh today, nor will I tomorrow. Today will be a high protein day, then back to hcg and my rogue protocol tomorrow.

WOE: Lowish carb (formerly on Protein Power)
2 lbs. down this morning, so I'm heading in the right direction. I ended up not eating all the food I'm "allowed" yesterday, so even though rogue, I only ate 550 cal.

Cheryl, I join you with your love of horses. I've owned two many years ago and rode daily. I don't have time to go back over your posts, but apparently you volunteer at a horse farm but aren't allowed to ride there? That doesn't seem right to me. I hope you find a place to live where you will be happy AND get to ride horses!
Mini -- am I right that you do Rx but drops instead of injections? Glad to read that you are satisfied with weight loss even if not as much as you'd hoped for. I end up getting discouraged and quitting way too easily. This time I won't because I won't be able to get more Rx and the homeopathic hasn't worked well for me.
Diva -- way to go on your losses! I gather you are below goal -- wish I were there with you.
Everyone else -- thanks for the inspiration and encouragement. I'm determined to complete this round no matter what the losses are. Thanks to my excesses the past month, I now need to lose 22# instead of 15#.

Stats: 128 (R2ldw 128) 5'7"
WOE: healthful, delicious low carb
Start Date: 6/28/2011 (started HCG) maintaining since 9/2011
Way below, Brigit-Carol...my goal was 140.5. I'm 5'7" so that gave me a BMI of 22, which is excellent and trim. Now I'm at 129.5 and a BMI of 20.3. I don't want to be any more than a couple of pounds smaller and have 6 more dosing days, so I'm trying to slow down a bit by adding protein. I want to finish out the round correctly because I do like this weight. The motivation for this round was 33.3 percent pain relief and 33.3 percent vanity and 33.3 percent thriftiness...couldn't waste a perfectly good bottle of RX drops my DH had left when he got to goal ...I was thin and healthy before, but now I'm thinner and don't ache. It's getting warmer out, so the aches won't be as bad when the inflammation comes back.

Stay the course. You're down 2...and that's great!

That's so great! It's so encouraging to hear stories like this.

I'm still hhcg, still rogue, still losing but more slowly, which I expected.

Just had 3 0z chicken burger with Miracle Rice, and going to make the chicken/cheese pizza crust - though I may freeze that for later. Husband likes it so it's something we can both eat.

Otherwise so far today have had 2 cups of my chai tea with 1tbs h&h in each.

Lovely Sunday everyone! I do so appreciate reading everyone's journeys.

mini, I know what you mean about life right now not allowing the horses. I had two also, but now we live where we couldn't keep them. We have 3 cats and 2 dogs, but several of our fur babies are quite elderly, so

I love that you can rescue birds! It's so hard for most people to know what to do to help a found pigeon or other bird. Yay for you!

BMI is 20.3 and I should stop losing pretty quick but will finish out the dosing to increase my chances of a happy P3-4. I'll double my protein and finish out the round. I tell you what...RX HCG beats NSAIDS all to heck for inflammation control. I don't know whether the hhcg does as well or not, but this stuff is just miraculous. I wish there was a way to stay on it forever.
Maybe you could! Maybe if you take a lower dose and eat in a P3/4 way with plenty of calories, you can reap the benefits of the anti-inflammation. Could it be more the food you are eating during P2 that is producing the desired AI effects? At any rate, I'm glad you are feeling reborn and keeping your head in the rational zone. I love how hcg works for you and your hubster!

There are only so many hours in the day, so many days in the week, and so much capacity for our brains and hands and feet to master! I haven't had this full of a life since I worked full-time for six months back in '08. I was at my wit's end back then, doing case management in home hospice. It was the toughest job of my entire nursing career. The kind you never clock out of! The kind where what you didn't accomplish that day is still waiting for you the following morning. And that was what I found coming back off disability after having a complete emotional and mental melt-down. I can't believe I survived that long.

Anyway, I digress. Focus on what you need to for right now and then life will allow for other things down the road.

That parade must have been fun! Sunburns in mid-March. You can't beat that! Good idea to skip the scale today. Why do that to yourself?

I've never owned my own but I think if the opportunity presents itself, I will take that leap someday. How pleasant it would be to have nobody telling me how to care for it! Ride when I want. Train how I want. Good God in Heaven! How glorious that would/will be!

I volunteer at a therapeutic riding center that hasn't got riding sessions going during the winter or early spring. They are giving orientations to get newbies like me trained to be either Leaders or side-walkers once sessions resume in late April. I'm scheduled for those orientations on the 24th and April 11th. I may not have enough experience to be a leader, but that has always been my goal (since learning about this place and getting involved.) I'll shoot for the moon and do what they will allow me to do. Work up the ladder over time.

I'm sorry for your regain, but I am dealing with regain lbs, too. In fact, I've been dealing with regain since September 2nd. It's really hindered my ability to get jazzed up to lose. It's always such a rush when you hit VFT and I know I can't get there for a long time, even if I do this perfectly. So I need to let that go and just do it with a different mindset.

Ever consider a lease? If I had more money to work with, I'd do a lease (or even a partial lease.) I looked into those and you can get a lease anywhere from "free" (for people who are in a real bind but want their horse to be worked with regularly) or $150-350 or more per month. Some charge at the low end if you only ride once a week and more if you ride 2 or more times per week. Check into it! It's a great alternative and many places have indoor arenas so you can ride no matter the weather.

I agree! Yay for Zoe!! Our birdie-lovin' Momma!

I'm very lucky Cheryl, my gray Arab girl Chanel was bought by a friend of mine, and I can go out there any time I like. Sooo great to know where she is and that she's happy! Though when I do go out she turns her back to me for a few minutes, to let me know I haven't been out enough. Then when I've properly abased myself, telling her that I know, and that I'm a worm, and that I'm sorry - she keeps both ears swiveled back to make sure I'm apologizing enough - she turns around and gives me a hug with her neck. She's the best. Basically a big dog, in a lot of ways.

If you were here you could ride her!

Quickie hello!

I can't face food this morning, so that means it is VLCD one for me -- didn't bother weighing, and I probably won't for another week or so, but I will be sticking to the protocol.

New little pigeon looks such a mess she's been dubbed "Scrapbasket." That might stick, since I am a seamstress, a scrap basket is a good thing to have around. She's thriving, and loves to shoulder perch -- I am going to see if I can get her to keep that habit -- I like having a pigeon riding around on my shoulder.

I'll check in later -- I have huge heavy objects to move right now.

Much love to all!

I have had more than one other person on LCF say that to me (Think Sue was one of them) about being able to ride their horse if I lived closer. That's too funny what your ex-Arab does when you come over infrequently. I love horse hugs! Aren't they the best? I haven't gotten one from any of these horses yet but I'm working up to it. On some of the coldest, windiest days I was there, I had some warm muzzle-to-cheek moments and they were just what my freezing cheeks needed. I appreciated that warmth so much!

Where do you live? I don't see a state listed in your stats. You can PM me if you want to keep that info hush-hush.

I can't decide who's more precious in those pics!

Cheryl...I don't think I'm going to need a whole bunch of clothes. I don't have anything much for summer except formal wear. It's stuff I have had for years that doesn't go out of style. So I will have to buy shorts and maybe a couple of casual summer dresses, but my jeans were already too big...and I won't wear them in a few weeks, I can't stand to be hot. So I'll probably just do shorts and capris and buy a few pair of cute jeans in the fall. I have about 50 swimsuits that now fit me and several rather saucy sets of lingerie that I kept hoping I'd want to wear again. That may be the most satisfying part of losing this last little bit.

David looks awesome. We both weigh about what we did when we got married.

When I was in my mid to upper 20's and lived in TX, I practically LIVED in swimsuits and shorts. I hate to be hot too. I need to focus on that fact and use it to motuvate me to get these last lbs off for good. Otherwise I'm in for a brutal, miserable summer on the farm.

Quick hello to all!

I have eaten way too much this weekend. Will be back on track tomorrow. I think I needed a little break mentally this weekend and then back into dieting mode tomorrow. I know I gained a little weight, but I know it is water and it is normal. It was all on plan items, but they can add up.

Love the birdie pics, Mini!

Cheryl, I don't know how I missed your goat story, but I went and found it. TOO FUNNY!!!

This weekend has been waaaay too busy. I have a sick kid to boot! Will be back later to check in!

Stacey, I hope she's not too sick (strep.) Don't forget to take time to take care of yourself when you are running around taking care of every one and everything else under the sun!

Going to try and get to sleep early tonight. Wish me luck! First morning barn day tomorrow. Will report back afterward.
