Wait -- Cheryl -- who cried herself to sleep? I musta missed that post!

Julie -- I am sorry for what your husband said! Those sorts of comments really, really hurt, don't they?

I wonder what was going through his head when he said that?

Cheryl -- yes, I just started seeing my therapist again after a break -- I've been seeing this therapist on and off (more on than off) since 1995, and I've actually known him since 1989 -- so there is none of that "filling in on my whole life" that I need to do. He probably knows me better than anyone else on this planet, really.

I decided with all the stress I'm under, it was definitely a good time to go back!

The 'thin' comment was unsolicited, too -- I wasn't talking about diet, weight, any of that sort of thing -- I *was* talking about being exhausted and overextended, though -- he actually said it twice, that I look thin.

I don't think I look all that thin, but I do look drawn right now, from exhaustion -- I suspect that is what he was seeing more than anything.

I'm fairly small, but not too thin for my frame at all. I can still spare another 8 lbs easily off the lower body -- but it was interesting that he made that comment.

He's very much a father figure to me -- the father I never had -- and he can be rather paternal at times.

Good afternoon everyone. I've been taking time away from the Internet as I continue to cleanse. I had a few rough days with the stomach flu between me and all the daycare kids. I'm still off the scale and don't know when I'll weigh again. I'll say that my energy has sky rocketed and I've gotten a lot accomplished, including some great reading

Will try to catch up but don't expect personals.

Glad to hear you are doing well, Disney -- and glad you are over the flu, which sounds really miserable!

It was me who cried myself to sleep. Now I will say that was the day TOM was the worst and I had a bad day overall, so it kinda was the straw that broke the camel's back sorta thing. It wasn't all that bad and he did feel pretty terrible the next day. We're all good and roses now!

Mini, sorry that you are stalled, but hoping the bloat will go away tomorrow and you will see a drop.

Jackie, good for you to stay focused and off of the scale. I hope you are feeling better. The stomach bug stinks!

Aw, I'm sorry Stacey. No matter how sweet our guys can be, sometimes they can really say the most insensitive stuff!

Just wanted to share my excitement: a perfect 4.0 this semester!!! This probably has not happened to me since highschool, since there has always been one class where I struggle and get a B/C in college. So I am so happy! Rockin a 3.5 overall.

I am attempting my 2nd batch of GY, the first did not turn out, not sure why but think I'll get it this time. I am hungry today too, I think from the alcohol last night, I am craving things like mac n cheese. Ugh. Have not given in but may have to eat dinner early.

Sudafed makes me insane. Just saying.

Or maybe it makes me do and say the things I would otherwise stuff. I'm not sure.

Taking vitamin C and zinc now. No fever so this is just a cold. A nasty bad one though.

Stacey, how could that cute husband of yours be mean. LOL. I know they just say stuff sometimes. Or don't say stuff when you want them to.

I'm eating some melba because I just took vitamin C and Zinc pills and I don't know what else to eat. I'm sick of everything P2. Had eggs this morning: 1 yoke and the rest whites cooked in Pam.

No more stalling. I have to go start waxing some more now. Ugh.

NICE! Congrats on that GPA! (Forgot what your major is.) Good luck on the second batch of yogurt. I finally bought 3 full-fat GY an hour ago. I'll finally know what the fuss is all about! Boo! (Mac n Cheese.)

It won't be long now! I see P3 in your future and I predict that you will enjoy it very much while staying rock-solid stable. (Just a hunch.) I so hope that this cold is history before you get on that plane. Grouchy or not, take one of those Sudadeds before getting airborne. It might keep your ears from stopping up.

I went shopping for thrift store jeans today and took the dog with me, figuring it was going to be a quick in-and-out. WOW. What a crappy assortment of jeans they had. I guess people wear the good ones straight into the ground and all that's left to donate are the ones that no one in their right mind would be caught dead wearing. I even bought a pair that was very comfortable but will most likely only be worn at night or at home. They have the permanent crease down the front and back!

But since it was slim-pickins, I just had to buy what I could find and make due. Some of the ones I bought are nearly as tight as the ones I already had, that I'm trying to get into. I wanted something I could wear NOW! And I STILL have no idea what size I am, even after trying on about 12 different pairs from various makers. I just have to wear what fits and not worry about what the tag says.

I then got gas, checked my tire pressure and topped off the two tires that were a bit low, and then hit the grocery store. I'm back home and all comfy-cozy again. I love being home.

The weather is absolutely AMAZING! It's un-heard-of. I hope it stays with us for the remainder of winter.

Mini, sorry for the puffiness today. Glad you feel so comfortable with your therapist and that he knows you so well. Considering all that, I'd take what he said to heart. You might not be exactly where you want to be on the scale, but you're pretty darn close to perfect to those who know you. (I mean "know you" in a physical way, like he does.) And the fact that the two people you live with don't have a clue you've been doing hcg all these months is a little disturbing to me. Why hide it unless you were trying not to get them to tell you you're fine? 'Nough said but I had to say it.

Cheryl, the sizes on clothes are ridiculous! I have sizes ranging from 5 to 9 in my closet and they all fit the same. You can never tell what size you need anymore.

I'm currently going for my MBA, emphasis in Accounting.

Stacey, if this batch doesn't turn out, I want to know your method. What do you use to strain it?

One of the new young girls at the farm is also starting a six-year plan for accounting. I had no idea it would take that long but I guess if you are going for the big degrees, it does. If it's what you love, I'm thrilled for you!

Yeah, the sizing is nuts. I don't care what the labels say as long as I can find something that is comfortable on me and looks decent! That's the maddening part. I have to just eyeball it and take it into the dressing room and try on umpteen pairs. Grrrr!

Congrats on your GPA this semester! All your hard work is paying off!! YAY!!

I couldn't find cheesecloth anywhere (dag gum walmart) so I bought towels that were labeled as "flour cloth" towels. They are very thin and worked perfectly. I made my yogurt in the crockpot and it was beyond easy.

Thanks!!! I am pretty pleased considering I think had a pretty difficult course this term. And I work full time.

My mom suggested I try that - I may do that next time. The method I read said to cook for 2.5 hours, then add the starter, then turn off the crockpot and wrap it in a towel? Is that right? It does sound easy. Well, the method I tried sounded easy too but I can find a way to mess up anything.

Erin, I cooked it on low for 2.5 hours. Unplug the crockpot, let the milk cool for 3 hours. Then I added some plain yogurt and then covered the whole crockpot in 3 big towels overnight. Put in the fridge in the morning and chill. The amounts I used were 8 cups milk and a 6oz container of plain greek yogurt.

Hope that helps!

I'm seriously considering JUDD for maintenance. Shelby is over there and so far she likes it - she said on her Down Days, she eats roughly 1100 calories. My only concern is that I could see how in my mind I need to be careful not to treat the Up Day like a loading day, but eating so few calories the day before - I don't see how that's possible. Besides, it's not a junk-fest and for optimal health, I know what foods to eat.

It seems very flexible and I can see stabilizing being a lot easier. It also seems like I'll been able to follow it when we're in Vegas, but we'll see.

It may not be a "junk fest" but I found the up days much harder than the down days. It might be a good fit for you but you won't know until you give it a serious try. I might be able to maintain doing that but I couldn't lose on it. I took "liberties" on my up days. Even though the calories weren't off-the-charts, I ate processed, yummy, convenient foods and got myself into trouble. All the old carb binge triggers, you know. If you can do it cleanly, give it a whirl!

I'm sure I can, just don't crave the junk anymore (on the loading days I get plenty of them, but once I'm done - I'm done). The foods I crave are, eggs, meats, veggies, full fat dairy, olives, avocado (basically all low carb). Oh and peanut butter.

I'm not starting until I'm done with my round. My taste buds have really changed and I will be keeping a food journal as well.

Yep, I did the same thing - after losing some, gaining some, I ultimately gained 5 pounds before I had to stop. It wasn't for me.

Yes Erin, gratz on the GPA! I know its double hard doing all that and manageing weight loss. Go you!!!!

I bought a size 9/10 dress at Wlamart that fit!!! It qwas on sale/clerance for $7.00 and I can wear it to work! Woot. They all compliment my wardrobe at work and I never buy anything that's not on super clearance or at the thrift store. Hee hee. I love a bargain.

Gawd! I ran out of wax. And I have more to do!! Wil have to go to Sally Beauty tomorrow and get some more.

Cheryl, I was thinking about the horse "rearing" at the girl that was grooming him. And then I thought "How come the horse wasn't in cross ties while being groomed?" I have two trees I use to cross tie mine always. Even my 27 year old. A few safety procedures could cure those little "accidents" at the barn. You put the cross ties on quick release knots at the wall (or in my case at each tree). Usually a horse is trained to know that when he's in cross ties he is not going anywhere. They hear that snap go in each side of the halter and they know what it means. On the off chance he acts up and throws himself down, you can undo the quick releases at the wall without getting near the thrashing beast. If you have a particulalry bad horse you run a stud chain thru his halter. Again, he hears the sound of the stud chain running through the links in his halter and he knows it means he's gonna get pinched on the nose if he moves. You hardly ever have to pull it tight. They have long memories for that stuff.

For P3, after I get back from vacation (and I'm not taking my scale - sorry, Dr. Simeon) I'm going to do 1200 calories of Atkins foods because I can reach 135 by August if I do that. That is what a random web site told me so it must be true.

Riley -- Whoooohoooo on the GPA!!!!

Cheryl -- my partner and roommate know I am dieting, just not about the hcg itself. I'd get a big old lecture from my partner, I'm sure, about taking a hormone -- I just don't care to explain it to either of them. They know I am a weird eater in general.

I don't know -- I don't think I look too thin at all right now -- nor do I think I will look too thin in ten more pounds. I do look tired, though, and that is from actually BEING tired.

I did make it through a mostly-protocol day, and with a lot of physical labor involved as well -- it would be lovely to be rewarded on the scale for that, but I suppose we'll see how that goes. I'm thinking I came in somewhere around 600 calories, mostly protein.

Well Zoe, I know for myself, I lose from the top down. I have, at one time, looked "too thin" in the face while retaining a severe muffin top lapping over my jeans. But HCG is supposed to prevent that loss of normal (face) fat, right? Back in the 80's when I joined a gym, they assessed my body fat with calipers. Why not go to someone at your gym, a trainer, and see what they say about your body fat percentage? That way you are not just relying on your own judgment? We all, myself especially, have skewed body images from so many years of dieting. I want you to succeed, but also don't want to see you get ill. I'm attached to my Minimonkey, now.

P.S. I saw HCG at Walmart. Didn't have time to stop and read the lable.

I'm tossing in my method in case anyone needs it! I steam my milk, let cool to about 120, mix with starter, and put on heating pad, usually on high. I have to click the heating pad every 2 hours as it turns off on its own. I use a cooking thermometer and try to keep it at 108-112 all day long, or overnight if I started late. I usually don't strain anymore as I tend to like the "bite" of the whole yogurt.

I had an incident with cheeze-its yesterday and am up 1.5 pound water weight. Why did I do it? Where's the smack myself smiley? I have no idea what triggers these things I usually don't keep crap like that in the house, but had bought some for the kids spring break.

Everyone's rockin it today!
Thanks Paula for your advice, that was similar to the method I attempted but now know my thermometer is stuck at 100deg so I don't think my milk got warm enough. I think I figured it out now. But I think I am definitely going to try the crockpot next, sounds too easy to be true!
I am up 2 pounds, WTH!! I haven't gone to the bathroom in a couple days, so that's probably part of it, the other part is the-day-after-drinking water retention, I think. It's strange because my stomach was so flat this morning. So not stressing. Eating high protein today with a bit of fat. Should be good to go tomorrow.
I don't want to get my hopes up , but hope to have some GY tomorrow.

Me either. (In regard to the underlined part.) I just hate buying things at full price. I'm even suspicious of sales, knowing that if you buy retail, you are going to get taken. (Now I'm talking about cars and furniture and big stuff.) I'm glad you love the dress so much!

They do have cross-ties at the barn. Well, actually IN the barn. There are two sets. But maybe she was trying to keep from getting the barn all full of mud and hair because sweeping it out at night is part of what has to be done. This particular horse was rated (by this girl to me) as a "green" horse, meaning he was very stable (yellow being caution, red being watch your back). She said he was the only green horse of the six. Now they don't have any!

There actually was a quick release clip on this tie, but it didn't work. Looking at it, it is a bit rusty from being outside. I just know that it was brought on by his need to be with is partner Daphne. Why they insist on working with one in the arena and leaving him behind is beyond me. Not trying to offend anyone by putting my 2 cents in. Some of these people have been working with these horses for years. YKWIM?

I didn't know about the stud chain. I wonder if they have one. They have one horse that is a really bad cribber. When I was grooming his shedding @$$ two weeks ago, he was in the cross-ties so the barn looked like a murder took place in there. But he kept backing up and pulling on the ties and sucking air. Then the staff girl came over to me and showed me how to pull him forward so he couldn't do that. But the second I let go after pulling him up and tried to groom him, back he'd go. It was exhausting! He wears one of those cribbing things at the base of his head/top of his neck and I don't think it does much. He cribs all the time. (For the non-horse people, cribbing means they bite and chew on the wood all around them. It's destructive and dangerous.)

Atkins after vacation and 1200 cals sounds like a good plan! It's not the speed in which you get there but the fact that you do get there and are able to learn to eat in the way that will sustain those losses.

Well, we all need to get to where we want to be, so we're in this together. I hope you feel more energetic soon. I feel great! I think it's more than just being "off the sauce" and back in control of my eating. It's the WEATHER! It's un-freaking-believable. If winter returns, it will be a shock to the system. I put the Parakeets (in their cage) out on the back porch. They are soaking up the rays and chirping happily. They have a lettuce leaf and some fresh seed and water. Maybe they'll even take a bath!

I lose all over, but the first place I do see it is in my face. Then it's a generalized all-over shrink. Makes it harder to see progress that way because you don't get dramatic drops in clothing sizes or anything like that. But I guess in the long-run it is a blessing. When my collar bones become really noticable, I'm close to where I can be happy and look great.

Mini and her roommate do the fat percentage caliper things at home. She used to have her fat % in her siggy. It was 11% or something back then. (Not talking about you behind your back.)

I saw the bottles of HCG at Wal-Mart, too. Sometimes it's hhcg, sometimes it's aminos or something. You have to be careful and read the labels closely. Vox has even emailed me this past week, trying to lure me into buying more hhcg. I don't think I'm going to. I still have two opened bottles and one unopened one.

Sorry for the slip! I had one yesterday myself. I tried GY for the first time in my life and it triggered something in me that made me want to just eat and eat and eat. No more GY for me! Back to the plan of mostly liquids. I have been allowing myself one small meal at the end of the day, which is my favorite time to eat. I lost over 8 lbs of water in the first 2 days, but that is typical for me. I didn't bother weighing today because of MY incident. Back on track 100% today. And very puffy myself.

Now that you have smacked yourself, just learn from it. You have nothing to be ashamed of. Live and freakin' learn. I hate that about life!

Very nice!!!

So, aside from all that I already wrote in various areas of this post and what is written in my siggy, I'm doing very well today. I had listed my Old Town Canoe for sale multiple times over the past few years. I had one guy come and offer me $300 but he wouldn't come up to $325, which would have been splitting the difference with me. He ended up leaving and I was glad because I don't take insults well. I know how much the thing is worth. I see others listed for several hundred more. Well, I sold it today for $375 and the money is in my Paypal account! Done deal. The woman will come out to pick it up in about two weeks. I'm very happy. It will have a good life now. It hasn't seen water (unless you consider the ponding that happens in my wet basement) for about 5 years.

I will be going to see that room for rent on the little one-acre "farm" tomorrow. I am keeping an open mind. I wish I had a RV and that she would allow me to park on the property, somewhere in the back, out of sight. Now THAT would be something I could live with. (Though dumping the black tank would be a challenge on a regular basis.)

Anyway, God bless every one of you today and may you have a special day in some way.
