Stacey I love the pic! You and your hubby are a cute couple! <3
Down 1 to 138.8. One more pound to my lowest weight this year. Then the real countdown begins! I have a feeling that BF will want to go to dinner tonight or want to cook something on the grill, so let's hope I get through that unscathed. I'm thinking steak sounds good. |

Cheryl -- Oh what a cool video!!! Hang gliding is a blast -- I haven't done it in years, but I used to love it -- and with the tandem gliding, you don't need to know how to fly the glider. I hope you get to do that!
That woman is amazing... if I make it to 100, I hope I am like that! Last edited by minimonkey; 03-09-2012 at 11:16 AM.. |

I can't afford anything like that but maybe someday. If I do "go for it" it won't be in a state like Maryland. I'd do it in the high desert or in a mountainous area. I want the maximum amount of "awe" for my money!
I did go Soaring once and that was amazing. Then the Hot Air Balloon ride last year. I didn't find that very thrilling. I think they are beautiful to watch as they fly overhead, but being in one wasn't all that exhilarating. But when we floated low over a small pond, it was the best! Then we could see ourselves as if in a mirror. I hope you have a very nice day today, Mini. Erin, WTG on the latest losses! Will be getting ready for the farm in an hour or so but right now I'm just craving LCF interaction. I pounce on each new post! Ever get like that? Seems when I need 'em they are few and far between.

Scale is up for me today
I'm blaming this long, long TOM for the fluctuations there -- and although I have the little frowny face avatar going on, I am really not all that worried about it. Doing a very calorie controlled fat fast (1 meal, about 600 calories) today, and then launching into protocol full force tomorrow -- hoping this will jump start things on the ketosis/fat loss front, and maybe bring on a scale drop too. I think it will be straight protocol from here for the rest of the round, but I decided to start it with a fat fast, based mostly on an intuitive hunch.

Good Afternoon! R4VLCD5 and I'm down another 2 pounds. It's official, I broke my own record from my previous rounds because I'm down 12.4 in only 4 days.
My DH, DS and I all have the day off - it's nice having a 3-day weekend.mini, please do join me. I am plannnig one interruption day this round right before I'm ready to end it (to go to our favorite sushi place) because even if I stop @ 140 - that's only 12.8 away and 135 is only 17.8 away. A short round would be great considering my previous three rounds were 49 days for the first round and 70+ days for my second and third. Last night, I was considering doing an interruption, thought it all the way through and changed my mind. Just because I don't have that much to lose doesn't mean I should be justifying that kind of behavior. Have a great day everyone

News, fresh off the farm. ;)
Things were different tonight. There were two incidents with the horses this week and now they don't want anyone to groom them but staff members. That's about 25% (if not more) of what we do for them, so this was very sucky. So rake, rake and more rake. Then there is a new teenage (or 20 year old) girl who truly doesn't know how to rake a pile of hay or scoop up an entire pile of manure. I was doing something last-minute in the paddock she was instructed to clean out and there wasn't much evidence that she'd been there. I did what I could as the wind continued to pick up and my hair was flying sideways. Damn it got cold!
So then, before that happened, the founder was riding one of the horses in the arena, exercising him. Her name is Janis. This horse she was riding was the latest one to act up with a volunteer (he reared up in her face when she was doing something in his corral. This same horse was the one I had to corner in order to put his harness on last week and the Equine Manager didn't like my methods. Janis was riding and saw what the horse was doing with me and she said, "Be persistent." Later she said she should have said "Be patient." LOL) Well, this horse started bucking with Janis on his back and about three bucks later, she was on the ground. I saw it happen because it was a different sound when he started stomping in such a way as to buck, so I turned and saw the whole thing. All I could do was yell, "Janis!" She got right back up and said she was okay but later I asked her again and she said she was fine but embarrassed. So the rest of my raking time, I was trying to face her and keep an eye on what was happening with her and that horse. The other incident was on Monday. One of the more stable horses was attached to the side of the barn for grooming while his life partner Daphne was riding in the arena. He doesn't like to be apart from her and he started to pull back from the lead that was keeping him tied to the barn and one thing led to another and he ended up startling and he broke the strap and knocked the girl to the ground. She drove herself to the ER thinking she had a broken nose. She was on the ground, dazed for a few moments until someone noticed her and I suppose noticed Red running loose. So, never a dull moment at the farm! But not grooming them sucks and I hope that rule changes fast. It has to because there aren't many staff members to begin with and one of them is leaving for AZ for two weeks. |

Okay, fat fast day over -- ended up being closer to a regular 1000 calorie fat fast --and tomorrow is near-protocol for me. Hoping that does the trick -- I must say the fat fast kicked out the lingering hunger, so that was great -- should make it a lot easier to stick to near-protocol from here (I will still be tweaking mildly, which is why I say near-protocol).
I think today's jump up on the scale might have been due to sodium -- I ate canned tuna yesterday, and that almost always seems to do that to me. Hoping for a drop tomorrow from the fat fast, but the calories may have been a little high for that -- I guess we'll see. Anyhow, starting with tomorrow's VLCDs, I really do hope to start seeing losses. |

Stacey, a good man is hard to find so cherish him and stay close to the Lord. I know you do and you are. ![]() It's late here; 0130. I'll be asleep in about 30 more minutes. Just keyed up after working on a Word document for the equine therapy place. It took a little while and I was groping my way in the dark but somehow I managed to create what was desired. It's not quite there yet, but 99% of the way and that makes me Night, girls. Bless you all and stay safe. |

Hope everyone's ready for a great weekend.
I dropped back to 123.4 - which is .2 below the virgin weight I reached two weeks ago. If I don't lose a pound this next week, I'm going to assume my metabolism has stalled and return to leptin reset eating. But I think the weight will shift... According to calories in/ calories out, I should have lost 1.9 pounds in the last 2 weeks. But maybe monthly bloating has played a role, who knows! Going to have to resist pizza today...at least there will be some food I can eat which is delicious. They are only providing pizza for the kids, some of whom are notoriously picky! I hope I can't smell it!

Good luck today Paula, with the pizza! I am usually ok with pizza as long as there are hot wings provided also, I just eat those.
Down to 137.4 today. WOOT! Lowest weight this year, one more pound to reach my alltime lowest from last summer. Then I'm on to VFT! |

Erin-
That's wonderful!! Great job!!Paula-be strong!! You can always decapitate some pizza. I've been known to wreak havoc on a pizza buffet or 2 in my day .Cheryl-hope you got a good night's sleep!! That'll certainly make a good start to the weekend. Mini-hope your fat fast has you well stocked for protocol!! you can do it!! Stacey-glad to hear that you appreciate what you have in dh. I really think that's the key to contentment. Wanting what you have!! .I'm up 0.4 overnight to 0.2 above LDW. Not bad! I'm happy with that. I've been really careful though, so I'm not sure that's a true test. Today I am going to add my beloved frozen yogurt to the mix. I'll have the stevia sweetened dark choc flavor, which has no fat in it either. but somehow it's absolutely delicious!! I doubt it'll hurt on the scale. I may skip my apple today. We'll see.My dh comes home this evening. He's gotten to go away several times lately. I wouldn't mind his life!! He's very grateful and a good guy (most of the time ). It's been fun just me and my girls. I really like my daughters and enjoy the time I get to spend with them. And, as a homeschooler, that is a LOT of time, compared to most families. I really think God has blessed our relationships and familiy this past year. It's been the best one yet! I'm thinking we'll go out to dinner tonight and that'll be my first true test this P3. I am leaning toward my "safe" restaurant meal. Dipping my toe into the world of temptation!!Have a great weekend ladies!!

I'm down a good chunk today. 5 #'s! I knew it would happen, the way I was peeing yesterday. I've become Cathy with all this rapid fluid retention and fluid losses. It worries me, to be honest. That makes me wonder about kidneys and lymph systems, but the Ultrasound I had a couple weeks ago showed normal kidney function. The left kidney was a centimeter or more smaller, though. I need to focus on my HEALTH! Have a laid-back weekend ahead of me. Cisco can sense I'm not going anywhere and is acting more like her normal, playful self. She's been sedate lately. I don't think she likes my new more active lifestyle. I would bring her with me to the farm and leave her in the car (on days that aren't so cold) but she barks the whole time. That won't fly. Have an amazing weekend, ladies! OH! Yesterday I called around and made an appointment to see a Therapist next Wednesday. I want to get to the bottom of what keeps driving me to do certain things over and over in my life, that screw up my chances of happiness and having good relationships with people. I'm sick of all these ups and downs! I'm ready to talk to someone about it and focus mainly on just those few things that hinder my life and my success. |

Yesterday's fat fast yielded me a 1.4 loss
Since today's activities involve the moving of a LOT of heavy furniture up several flights of stairs, I am repeating the fat fast today -- it'll give me strength and energy, and I should also burn that fuel right off I think. Plus, that was a darn nice drop on the scale. |

Later: Today's breakfast probably exceeded the fat fast calories ( I was HUNGRY!) --but honestly with all the physical activity ahead of me today I am not too worried about it -- I have the next week off from school, which is a blessing and a curse dietarily -- but it might be a good time to do a real fast day or two, which might get me back into gear for trying protocol again.
I can't quite seem to get it together for this second leg of the round -- I think the very long TOM and the considerable stress are combining to make that difficult -- plus p2 burnout in general. My therapist commented yesterday that I look thin -- and it was more a statement of concern than it was a compliment, so perhaps I shouldn't be trying to lose much more anyhow. What I think he was seeing was more that I look tired, to be truthful -- which I am. |

I didn't realize you were seeing a Therapist. Did you read my post about going to see one next Wednesday? I think it's a very smart move and HIGH TIME. Most times I just feel it's pointless to go see a stranger and fill them in on 49 years of my life, just to get them "up to speed" and hopefully get something out of it after that. I guess anything is possible.Anyway, I'm glad you are considering what he/she said about being thin enough. Sometimes you just have to hear it from someone who is physically around you in order for it to make an impact. |

Morning ladies. In a quick read thru I noticed :
Erin, GratZ on the losses. Gremom, loe the new avatar pic - you guys are so cute. Mini - keep pluggin away girl! Julie Boolie - rockin the P3! Cheryl, the horses sound dangerous there. Be careful!! Well, I'm done with dosing. I stayed same wight last few days. didn't weigh today because I'm sick and its too cold to take off all my clothes. I tried so hard not to be sick, but I have bad cold, sinus, I would say flu but I took a flu shot so it can't be the flu right ? Ha ha. Right. I managed to get out and do the farm chores that needed to be done before I leave on my trip. I made buckwheat pancakes and ate them with 5 calories fake margerine and some Walden jelly. I tried out taking the the carb blocker 15 min before and 15 min after. I gfigured I better try it before the trip in case it makes me sick or something. So far its been about 1/2 hour and I'm full, but can't tell anything else. Oh! I wore the size 12 Harve Benard pantsuit to work yesterday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The pants were really uncomfortable, no stretch in the fabric at all, but if they button that counts as fitting, right? I kept them buttoned most of the day, except right after lunch. There are little tabs and buttons where you can make the waist tighter if you want to. I'm like are you kidding me????? LOL. I took some pics but I don't know how to get them on here from my phone. OK, going for another essential oil and detox bath, then lie down till dark. I'm sad because I was supposed to go out with boyfriend tonite, but I am not going to make it. Oh well, I will be with him all week on vacation.

Good Morning! R4VLCD6 and I'm up .2, but TOM is here. Also, I bought some vitamin D3 yesterday (softgels w/ safflower oil) and that may have something to do with it. During TOM, I usually show a loss every day, but 12.2 in only 5 days is amazing - so no complaints here.

The furniture is from the great rummage sale last weekend -- we scored some unbelievable bargains -- but we need to pick them up and move them here, and then there will be rearranging on this end to find them a home.
A lot of this is stuff that will ultimately end up being used for my end of program art show, as display, which is how I was able to justify buying them. |

Cheryl -- I hope they chill out about the horses and grooming -- those are pretty standard things to have happen around a barn, and it doesn't sound like reason to scale things back, to me --- maybe the horse that reared in someone's face should be groomed by staff for a while -- but other than that.....

Violet, your losses are incredible!
I rarely lose at all during TOM -- and this extra long one I am having is not helping the scale -- though I do think TOM is winding down now (oh, please!) -- and the nice scale drop today helps confirm that. I think the TOM is also part of why I've had a hard time getting it together to get back on protocol -- I tend to be much hungrier during TOM, and have something that feels like a biological imperative to "eat, or else..." -- that doesn't tend to happen during the rest of the month for me. I'll fast for the rest of today, and see where tomorrow lands me, and see how I am feeling -- and I hope I will feel ready to get it together either to get back on protocol, or to fast tomorrow. This is really just silly at this point --- 9 more lbs, and I will be happy to call it goal. I should be able to get those last 9 off without hemming and hawing so much about it. I am at a weight my body doesn't seem to want to drop below, so that is part of the problem -- but I am also mentally resisiting this second part of the round, and I need to figure out what that is about. I am sure I have enough hcg in this bottle to get in a good three dosing weeks -- and if I can get with the program, that should be enough to lose this last few pounds. ![]() That's so AWESOME that you wore the pantsuit! And being able to button it and keep it buttoned is a big dang deal. WTG! I'm really sorry you are feeling so sick. When do you leave for your trip? I hope you are back to your normal, healthy self by then. I will say a prayer. I hope the carb blockers don't cause any ill effects. I hear that they sometimes do. Frankly, I felt just great that day when I hit (just barely) the 150's. I don't feel this great need for speed that I was feeling a while back. That's why I changed my goal to get to 158 rather than 140. I'd be perfectly content to maintain in the 150's all summer long, or however long it takes me to get ready for the "final descent." Here's to feeling "strong for the fight!" And pizza! ![]() |

Well I am having to do a correction day, although it could be from my bosses taking us to dinner and getting us all nice glasses (yes, multiple) of wine. I don't think it was the food, salads, steaks, seafood both days, so I'm pretty sure it's the wine!
It's all ok though! |
