Looking for Buddies P2

Hi There

So excited to have found this forum.

My goal is to get down to 130 - that's 25 pounds I need to lose. I am committing to 21 days of VLCD and then I'll see where I am at. I would like to do one round and one round only, but I did buy 2 bottles of HHCG.

Here are my stats:

Load Day 1 155.2
Load Day 2 155.6

I know only .4 of a gain, incredible - I was eating high fats all day. Ate an entire Florida Avocado as well as two HAAS, not to mention a bunch of other stuff - just have never eaten that much avocado in one week never mind a day!

Yesterday was my first VLCD and I weighed in at 151.8 this morning...WOW a 3.8 pound loss - I am speechless!!! So excited about tomorrows weigh in!!!

Felt a bit sluggish this morning, could not wait for lunch to come around, ate at 12 on the dot!!! Feeling much better now. Went out and got some b12 so hopefully that will help as well.

Lunch today was beef and cabbage and half a grapefruit. Dinner will be one egg with 3 egg whites and spinach! Then an apple for desert.

I have not bought any Melba Toasts - I think eating one will be next to impossible for me so I will double the veggies instead, as the calories are similar.

I look forward to meeting others who are on this journey as well.

Hi, I just started my journey too! Today is day 4 for me and I have a headache : ( The mornings are easy for me and get harder as the day goes on.

This morning: strawberries
Today for lunch: asparagus and lean steak with 1 grissini
For dinner I am making a soup with ground turkey, canned tomatoes, chicken stalk and 1 grissini. Not sure if I will have an orange or apple!

I am drinking a ton of water and going to the ladies room all day long!!

Load day 1 258.2
Load day 2 257.6
Day 3 260
Day 4 258.8

Good luck and can't wait to see more results soon!!

Hello, I am on day 4 of vlcd P2 - i stayed the same on my load days but as of this am i was down 3 pounds. I find that im ok in the am but once i have lunch i get hunger cravings. I had trouble sleeping last nite, i went to bed very early. It was torture for me to watch tv and not have my usual treats. We can do this !!!!! Mmmm. Dinner will be chicken breast and cabbage i think. I will save an orange for later and 1 grissini stick. I had the headaches from hell the first 2 days after load days. We are pretty much on the same schedule !

I'm a newbie too!

I started a week and a half ago. Hit a bump on the weekend so restarted and this time with NO cheats. My goal weight is 165 for now. I'm 5'5"

Lunch: chicken (cooked in chicken stock w/crushed garlic and broccoli steamed in same stock with extra garlic and sea salt. I ate this for both lunch and dinner. Half a grapefruit
Dinner: Same chicken and broccoli, no grapfruit yet

I'm skipping the melba toast and thinking of doing fruit just once a day. Any thoughts?

I'm taking intermountain drops. 10 drops 3x/day. I hit my lip once when I was taking the drops. I sure hope I didn't make it less effective. UGH

@yellowhair... How about surfing the net while you are watching TV to keep you busy and not missing your treats so much?

You guys are having some great losses. Just think about it when we combine our total weight lost!

Welcome tchrshelli and yellowhair

ok...to be consistent R1P2D4 - this is where I am at today...I think. Round 1, phase 2, Day 4.

Funny...well not really, I just sent hubby out to get some epsom salts. I read here....not sure where, I'm still getting used to the forum that an epsom salts bath will help get rid of the toxins, so this is what I'm doing tonight with a big full glass of water!!!

Let us know how the soup turned out tchrshelli.

Chat soon.

Soup was excellent! I cooked the ground turkey first. Then added 1 cup chicken broth (20cal) with 1/2 can tomatoes (the mexican kind) and simmered for about 30 mins. To be honest, it was so good, I will probably eat it every day!!!!

So glad I found this site!! It is turning out to be the support I needed!!!

hope-good idea-I am going to buy some epsom salts today and have a nice soak this weekend minus the aromatherapy oils i would normally put in it. I rec'd my oil free shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion today (Millcreek brand)-don't know if this was necessary but we always need more bottles of stuff

2bfit-i thought having the same meat and vegetables was a no no in one day? I see you said lunch and dinner the same.

trshelli-I never had ground turkey, how did you cook it, also i did not know ground turkey was allowed-reading original Simeons. I sign up for all those daily deal sites by city. Groupon had one for 99.00 for a 4 wk program ( 21 preloaded injections, 4-b12 shots, and 4 visits. The doc even sees you-i thought oh brother-they are going to try and upsell me into spending hundreds but that was not the case at all - very nice place. I dont know what they would charge if i extend round 1 or go another round. I will cross that bridge when i get to it. I see these deals often.

Dinner last nite was chicken breast, cabbage - snack was 1 orange and 1 grissini breadstick. Ex neighbor stops by telling me how bad this diet is He is the only one that knows i started this besides significant other. I did not tell anyone at work by choice to avoid the sabatoge and looking at me daily to see " if i lost weight " gossip. Went to bed early. Off to work soon-can't imagine how the weekend will go on P2. My 3 dogs are po'd that im on a diet, no scraps and that was a big ritual for them

Yellowhair - It's funny you say that about not having the same meal twice in a row because I had kind of remembered the same thing. I posed the question to some veterans here and they said Dr. Simeon never said we can't have the same meal twice in a row... I wonder where I heard that from but this morning's scale was good to me. I am down another 2.8lbs this morning. I did make the mistake of thinking broccoli was on the list... I want to follow strict protocol so last night when I realized broccoli was a no-no I decided to stop eating it.... But then I weighed in this morning and am rethinking that since I had such a good loss... Hmmm

Yay!!! I'm down another 1.6 pounds today - total loss = 5 pounds!!! Okay, only 20 to go now!!!

tchrselli - That soup does sound yummy and super easy...I'm thinking this could be done with ground chicken as well as ground beef too!!!

yellow hair - cabbage will be a staple in my dinner diet I think. You can eat sooo much, I think it is the psychological aspect of having a full plate that is appealing to me.

2befit - Welcome. Yes according to the protocol you should not have the same protein source at lunch and dinner....but it looks like it did not slow you down at all, that was a nice loss!!!

Today's lunch will be sirloin and cabbage again. No sure about dinner yet.

Have a great day ladies!

Looks like we are all off to a great start!

Do you guys think that what we ate yesterday has a direct impact on the scale today. I guess what I'm asking is if I had a big loss today is it because of what I ate yesterday or is there some lag time? I ate chicken twice (which sounds like a no-no) but I had my best loss yet. Hmmmm

Newbie

Hi,

I am on day 4 of P2 and already down 4.2lbs! I'm doing homeopathic pellets and experiencing almost no hunger and lots of energy.

Starting weight: 207.2
Gained 1.6 loading
Today's weight: 203

My long term goal is about 150 but my short term goal is break 200/190/180. The lowest I've been in the past 20+ years is about 176 so I know when I get there I might slow down a little and I'm okay with that.

Good luck to everyone!

Tzipora

Yellowhair- you know, I did not pay attention if turkey was allowed or not. I just figured it had less fat than ground beef, and it's cheaper! Cook the turkey just like ground beef. I chopped it up as it was cooking and added a little seasoning salt. Very filling.

Hopefulsweigh, yes! I am thinking of changing it up with chicken, steak, etc. It was very filling and something I would eat even if I wasn't on a diet!

The scale was good to me today also!! 256.4!! The scale is sure to keep me motivated! I am hoping for no headaches today!! I am going to eat the same as I did yesterday- everything is already prepared. I am going to try and freeze an apple sliced very thinly. Read about it another post!!

Load day 1 258.2
Load day 2 257.6
VLCD 1 260
VLCD 2 258.8
VLCD 3 256.4

That soup does sound yummy! For some reason I thought we weren't supposed to combine 2 different proteins, even in broth...BUT I've read so much that I don't know where I heard what anymore. What do you think? Have you heard this before?

2befitb440- not sure if it will have an impact. My guess is no, because you didn't eat off plan and you still stuck to 500 calories.

2bfit- I don't know what I read anymore either! I thought I read on other posts that you could have broth- but I could be wrong. I am looking at the label now- I thought it was 20 cals, but it is only 10 with 1g protein. I also had turkey which may not be allowed, but I am sticking with it until the scale says otherwise!!

So funny about the ... Anyway, I know we can have broth but somewhere I read that if you have chicken and want to use broth it's got to be chicken broth, not beef and vice versa... But like I said, don't know where I saw that.

Sounds like we are all getting confused. I read elsewhere that you can have 2 of the same proteins on the same day. I will re-read that part of the protocol and report back tomorrow.

I decided to get some melba toast and was delighted when I found grissini - i had 1 an an apple as a snack this afternoon.

I'm a bit anxious about having some folks over for dinner on Sunday. It was an impomtu get together as our friend is a plumber, can;t have him over to do stuff without feeding him and his wife and kids. I have decided to do a sirloin roast in the crockpot with Braggs Aminos and garlic. My friend is bringing roast potatoes....yikes, obviously I will not have those. I'm wondering what I else I can make as a side that I can eat and the others will like as well? I'm thinking cabbage, maybe asparagus? Any ideas ladies?

Hope

Hi ladies! Just popping in to cheer you guys on... Good luck to you all!!!!!

Dr. S does NOT say anywhere in the manuscript that you cannot have the same protein twice in a day. There is mention that you shouldn't have American beef twice in a day but that is because it has more calories/fats than the other proteins. That said, many people find that not having the same proteins, fruits OR veggies twice in a day helps to lose more weight.

The prohibition against having chicken broth with beef or beef broth with fish comes from the P&I reference to not having two different proteins in the same sitting. I try to not cook chicken in beef broth or vice versa but I will admit that I have mixed it up a lot of times when I was out of one or the other (a LOT!) and it hasn't seemed to hurt my losses or my stabilization.

Dr. S DOES SPECIFICALLY say to stick to the foods listed. To quote: "It should also be mentioned that two small apples weighing as much as one large one nevertheless have a higher caloric value and are therefore not allowed, though there is no restriction on the size of one apple. Some people do not realize that a tangerine is not an orange and that chicken breast does not mean the breast of any other fowl, nor does it mean a wing or drumstick." By this token, turkey is NOT allowed if you are following strict protocol. That said, MANY people add ground turkey and do fine. Same with the broccoli. Not strict protocol but many plans, including OWL, allow it.

One tip I have for those struggling with snacky type hunger (especially at night) is to get some really really nice teas and drink that when you are feeling like needing something extra. Good Earth Sweet and Spicy tea is wonderful and the Yogi Tea brand also has many great ones. I like the Throat Comfort one (helps with allergies and sore throats), the Vanilla Hazelnut, the India Spice, the Peach Detox, and if I'm having trouble sleeping the Blues Away (St. Johns Wort). They are all naturally a little sweet but add just a touch of sweetener and you have a hot thing to sip on that is very comforting.

The weekends ARE super tough! I got through them by just staying really really busy. Gardening, movies, epsom salt baths, cleaning the house, exercise, LOTS of black coffee with my girlfriends, etc. Make sure you have plenty of good P2 foods on hand, if you feel like snacking reach for celery or radishes, and treat yourself for dinner to something you don't usually have--filet mignon, lobster, crab, shrimp--with your favorite P2 sidedish.

Best of luck to you guys!!!!! KUTGW!

I plan on doing some precooking this weekend, i bought some wild cod and chicken breast on my way home from work yesterday so i want to make individual servings and freeze. I have been using the foreman grill for everything and it all has turned out good.

Fri: lots of back coffee thru out the day, 2 liters of water, first glass of water was hot with juice of 1/2 lemon.
Lunch: lean ground beef patty, 1/2 grapefruit, cucumber
Dinner: cod, cucumber salad ( the salad probably was a no no as there was onion and tomato in it - i did not eat the tomato tho - it was delicious, bought at Fresh Foods.
Snacks: orange and 1 sesame grissini (not sure if the sesame is ok)

Finally went poo a tad so i will cancel my plan to use a suppository this weekend. Bought some epsom salts and 7.00 for 6 pounds-thought that was high but maybe not.

Down 2 pounds !

Good morning! Yes! Thanks Shelby!! I tried the frozen apple yesterday and it was a refreshing treat, def worth doing again! I might try an epsom salt bath this weekend too, my husband thinks it's a crazy idea, but hey, what ever works!! Good weather in Southern Cal today so we are going to BBQ some chicken breasts, steak and hamburgers for the week!

Good Luck to us all for the weekend!!

I am up .4 pounds to 150.6.....not good for the head.

I did not stray from the plan at all. What WAS different yesterday was that I used Degree deodorant. The label was peeled off so not sure what the ingredients are. I did go ut and buy some natural deodorant so hopefully that will help.

I has asparagus last night for the first time as well. Oh now that I am thinking the big change would be the Grisini and I had 2, at different times of course. Really? 40 calories could make such an impact? Lets hope it was the deodorant.

My water intake was 144 ounce and that does not include any of the tea or coffee, so I'm certainly not dehydrated.

Food looks like this today.

B-apple
L-sirloin with cabbage
d-eggs with spinach - 1 egg and 3 egg whites
s-1/2 grapefruit

I'm leaving the Grssini out to be on the safe side and I will try the Grissini again later in the week...I want a LOSS not a gain!!!

Good for you ladies and getting your prep done this weekend, let's stay on track and kick these pounds to the curb!!!
