Thank you everyone for the recipes ! I have not been eating any lettuce because of the dressing, always had vinegar and oil. I did try 2 of the WF brands and did not care for them. I also use canned tomatoes - i just looked at my delmonte diced tomatoes with basil, garlic, and oregano and it has 8g of sugar - ughh - i made a big batch of that and have ate alot of it this week ! on the losses and new board person(s)

Your motivation for the day and to keep going is.....
It's pounds and inches and when the scale doesn't move it MUST be an inch day.
This is what I told myself today and I believe it to be true. Use the scale and your clothes as the guide because if one is not moving the other is.

Stay strong thru the weekend. They are they are the hardest days for me.

Good morning all. It's looks like everyone is doing well.

Yellowhair, I think a good reliable scale helps so much. I mean even if I've only lost .2 I still love seeing some loss. Would hate it if my scale wasn't cooperative that way.

I've been soooo busy lately, which as long as I'm prepared with my food makes this eating plan nice and easy. (It's the weekends that are tough for me, but last weekend no cheats). So last night I had to go to a fundraiser at one of the nicest places in my area. Gorgeous place known for their amazing food. They had EVERYTHING you could think of on their buffet and an open bar. I'm so proud of myself because I stuck to plan as best as I could with their choices. I eyeballed 3.5 oz of filet mignon and there was no lettuce believe it or not so I went with grilled peppers. (They didn't have any of our legal veggies without oil). I had a few strawberries. And I did have 1 glass of cabernet. (I wasn't going to have the wine but I remember reading in P&I that some people can tolerate it with no problems so I just tried 1). All in all, I'm feeling good. And this morning I'm down 0.8 and TOM is here.

Thank you - surely an inch day. I just looked up every can of hunts canned
tomatoes diced. Every one had sugar in them - the lowest being 3G - so i guess my question will be is p2 chile ok if made with canned tomatoes that contain sugar - is there a brand with 0 sugar ?

What you need to watch for is ADDED sugar. Tomatos naturally have sugar in them but tomatos are legal on our diet. So it you look at the ingredients and it's just tomatoes and some spices you're fine. ENJOY I love the P2 chili.

Happy Friday!!!

Yellowhair- tomatoes naturally have sugar so 3g of sugar is normal per can.
I have a weight watchers digital scale and it is pretty accurate. It measures up to my doctor's scale! It was fairly reasonable with a 20% coupon at Bed Bath & beyond. It was less than $30.00

L- chicken, cabbage, 1 grissini
D- Lean ground beef, tomatoes, broth, 1 grissini
S- strawberries
Tons of water!

VLCD 1 260
VLCD 2 258.8
VLCD 3 256.4
VLDC 4 255.8
VLCD 5 253
VLCD 6 250.2
VLCD 7 248.2
VLCD 8 246.6

WTG Abby! You're just under 2lbs. from my goal.

TBFITB440 - I'm so happy to see your moniker. I was fit until I got in my 40s and peremenopause hit. I haven't handled that well, but am working to turn it around before I hit 50 next year. So many women have told me their 40s were their best!

The Rotel tomatoes didn't seem to cause me a problem. I lost 2 more pounds. I also ate a sugar free jello. I was so hungry last night for something sweet and the fruit wasn't satisfying.

Good morning!

I use Hunts or store-brand diced tomatoes and even Rotel, and I never have had a problem at all. It's very hard for me as a long-time low-carber to not count carbs in P2 but we don't have to. Follow the protocol and stay away from fats and added sugars. Fruits and vegetables natural in sugar that are on the acceptable list are fine.

YellowHair, are you eating enough? I've found on days that I'm too low in calories, I don't lose as well. Make sure you are getting your calories in. If you are, maybe up your protein a bit tomorrow or try a different fruit or vegetable and see if it helps any to change your menu a little.

Congrats to all you losers!

I am down 1 lb today.

Today's menu:

B-black coffee
L-P2 chili with shrimp
D-fish, spinach
S-strawberries, maybe an apple or orange
Water, water, water!!

I'm down 1.1 lbs today! I'm having the best losses this round than the others. Very, very happy!
I like the P2 chili, but if I eat too much of it (like every day) it slows me way down! But I can eat yogurt (nonfat greek yogurt) and lose, lose, lose!

I chop it up in lengths. Add 4-5 cloves of chopped garlic, garlic powder and crushed red peppers to taste. Add a bit of water so it does not stick. Cook till wilted. Add Aminos (I have used Soya sauce when not on P2). I use half a bunch per serving, and only cook one serving at a time. Salty and hot, a nice flavor combination. This works nice with any leafy vegetable. I do this with Bok Choy and cabbage, although cabbage does not hold the flavor so well.

I feel your struggle, I really do. I read a bit of the protocol last night and Dr S says that if you have been stuck at a certain # for a while, it IS possible to be plateau there for a bit.

Are you girls taking your measurements? If not, please start. Sometimes you lose inches and not lbs. You can usually tell by how your clothes fit but it's nice to be able to put a number to the inches lost too.
